Poor Serena Williams has a broken heart. In a recent magazine interview, Serena confessed that she was planning to be single for the next 10 years because dating just isn’t working for her. Check out what she said below:
“I have given up on dating; it just hasn’t worked out well for me. I’m a really emotional person. I give my all and everything. I do make mistakes — like every human does — but the last relationship just was too much of a heartbreak for me. I just can’t go through that anymore. It was hard. I just have to remove myself from that atmosphere for about the next decade or so I can’t get involved.”
Okay, so was it Drake that broke her heart or Common? Considering that Common still speaks so highly of her, I put my money on Drake being the culprit.
Around the time that Drake started seeing Dollicia Bryant, Serena was caught airing out her hurt feelings on Twitter, tweeting:
“I tried. Hard I’ve been doing everything I can to bite my tongue…. But….But really?? Shocking. Like really, really???”
Who do you think broke Serena’s heart?

It seems like Electronic dance music has been making its way into Hip-Hop for some time now. Gradually over the course of Hip-Hop’s life, the “four to the floor” style of music has traveled to clubs across the world, computers in our homes, and on the commercials that play every day on our TVs. Championing this dance-inspired style of Hip-Hop and seamlessly making the transition to more dance-inspired records has been Miami’s Flo Rida.
While he was bred in the MIA (and his name proudly bears his home state of Florida), it’s difficult to put Flo Rida in a box as simply a Florida artist. Flo’s sound is worldwide and appears to have no boundaries. From Europe to Asia to Australia, Flo Rida is collecting big checks for big shows that are paying for a lavish lifestyle that anyone would desire. With endorsements, live television appearances on “Wrestlemania”, “The Voice”, and Google Upfront 2102, it’s difficult to see how Flo isn’t winning.
In this exclusive sit down with AllHipHop.com, Flo Rida explains his move to (EDM), how he is brushing off recent lawsuits, his work with Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne, and details on his new label, IMG International Group:
AllHipHop.com: First off, how’s everything going with Poe Boy? How have the international concerts been? Seems like you are always over the place, homie….
Flo Rida: Oh, man, you know it’s great. It’s just amazing, I actually just did a tour with Pitbull out in Canada. You know I started my new label the IMG International Group, and I brought my artist Tyler Maderos out there, who is from Canada. He came out and rocked the crowd; he actually has a lot of fans out there. I actually went out to Australia recently and did a bunch of big shows and things like that, and I just shot my video for “Whistle” in Acapulco, Mexico, and I’m just gearing up for more places to be on tour.
AllHipHop.com: Speaking of international shows, can you comment on the lawsuit for $80,000 by the promotional company, Fat Butta, in Australia?
Flo Rida: Yeah, man, for the most part Australia went well, but, man, you know a lot of times anyone can come up and say anything and get everyone’s attention when it comes to just being an artist. I’m just happy that none of it is true, and it’s all about what happens in the end. I’m just happy it’s not true, and lot of times, promoters try to jerk you and they are called “janky promoters,” man.
Flo Rida: Wild Ones ft Sia
AllHipHop.com: [laughter] I guess that just comes with the territory when you’re getting $80,000 per show in the first place.
Flo Rida: Yeah, man, you know that’s just somebody trying to take advantage of me having #1 records, and they just want to bring our stuff in the negative, and they feel like they should pay you a certain amount of money, and they feel like they shouldn’t give you a ride to the venue. Maybe they thought that I should have brought my Bugatti to Australia, and that I could have brought my own car. With that being said, I think that says a lot.
AllHipHop.com: I assumed your answer would be somewhere along those lines [laughter]. Tell me about the video in Mexico for the new single, “Whistle.”
Flo Rida: Yeah, it was just amazing. It was the whole Poe Boy fam, as well as the IMG. We all went out there private jet style, and it seemed like the whole city came out to support the video. It was like the whole Poe Boy family – Billy Blue, Brisco, Wild Child, Stacy, and everyone – came out there, and we just enjoyed ourselves for two days, man. This record is going to be one of my biggest records yet. You guys will get a chance to see that video in a month or so.
Flo Rida – Whistle [Audio]
AllHipHop.com: Talk to me about what you have planned for “The Voice”.
Flo Rida: Oh yeah, I’m actually supposed to go on “The Voice” real soon and perform. I’m looking forward to that, and I’m gonna bring my band and everything.
AllHipHop.com: You have a live band? How many people are in your band?
Flo Rida: Yeah, man, I have five people in the band.
AllHipHop.com: It just seems like right now you have reached the point in your career with the Google Upfront event, “The Voice”, and “Wrestlemania 28” with MGK, that you are really out there. How does it feel to be on that platform?
Flo Rida: I mean, it’s just amazing because I definitely work hard. You know they say, if you work hard, you can play hard, and so I’m definitely enjoying it, as well as inspiring artists signed to my record label. You look back to when I didn’t have a record deal, to when I was walking 20 miles to take my demo certain places, taking the Greyhound to L.A., and living on the streets. It pays off when you work hard and when you have a passion and you believe in yourself and when everyone else might not believe in you.
AllHipHop.com: What do you think was the defining moment in your career, when your career sort of tipped the scale so to speak, and you really took your career to the next level?
Flo Rida: When I got a chance to run into my manager, Freezy and E-Class, who is the CEO of Poe Boy Records. You know those guys believed in me, as well as my parents.
Flo Rida: Good Feeling
AllHipHop.com: Ok, that’s what’s up, man. Now heading into the realm of the studio, you have a project coming out this summer right?
Flo Rida: Yeah, man, we still working on the name of the album and everything, but yeah, it’s going to be coming out real soon.
AllHipHop.com: Ok, so you’re still working on the name, huh?
Flo Rida: Yeah, we got the records, but as far as the name we still working on that. So far my boy Lil’ Wayne is on the album, he was on my first album. LMFAO is on the album, Sia who is on the record, “Wild Ones”, which is doing amazing, it’s #1 all over the world. As well as the song “Good Feeling,” featuring the late great Etta James, just to name a few.
AllHipHop.com: One thing with your music is that you can tell there is a heavy influence of electronic dance music (EDM). Can you talk about that and how that style of music has influenced your music?
Flo Rida: For the most part, I just loved music in general growing up in Miami where there’s various different ethnicities, and I got a chance to choose from the music culture, from the Haitians, to the Jamaicans and the Latinos, and everything like that. So to transition over to Spanish music and everything, it really wasn’t that hard, because I had to be versatile being in Miami. I might receive a beat from somebody, and being an artist without a record deal, I had to be able to spit to different types of music, so now to me, it’s something that’s just natural now.
AllHipHop.com: Right. Now, recently, Drake came out and made statements about electronic dance music, saying that it “lacked integrity,” and that it didn’t have as much soul as he would like, just to paraphrase. Do you feel like EDM has more soul than people give it credit for?
Flo Rida: I mean, anything that I do, I gotta put some soul in it. But for the most part, to each his own. You can’t knock a man for what he feels. It’s freedom of speech.
AllHipHop.com: Are you fan of Drake’s music?
Flo Rida: Yeah, I’m a fan of Drake’s music.
AllHipHop.com: Oh ok, that’s what’s up. One thing that’s going to be really big is that you just remixed a Lady Gaga song. How did that come together?
Flo Rida: Well, I actually just did a remix to the record. You know for the most part, I talk to some people when I do records and/or we chop up the business, but on that record in particular, I just did the record.
AllHipHop.com: Will you be having more work with her [Lady Gaga] in the future?
Flo Rida: I mean, I don’t mind. I worked on the album on her first album, Starstruck. If she’s ’bout it, then I’m with it. We gonna see what’s up.
AllHipHop.com: As far as some of the tracks that may have more of a Hip-Hop feel than the ones that are more dance-inspired, can you tell me which ones you think that real Hip-Hop heads are going to be diggin’.
Flo Rida: It’s a couple of them. I got a record with Lil’ Wayne that shows the versatility of both, and then I got a record on the album that has more of an urban feel on there’s that pop edge to it, where I’m singing on the record, and my rhyme pattern is definitely something of my early work.
AllHipHop.com: It’s cool that you are expanding the genre of Hip-Hop to different directions beyond what people traditionally think that it is. A lot of times Hip-Hop can be about different things at times, so it shows courage to step out there, and you are winning at it, getting big shows and endorsements. Definitely congrats, bro.
Flo Rida: For the most part I think it takes courage for the newer artists, because I am one of the first artists to do it how I am doing it, and for me, it didn’t take courage. It was natural, it was just for me being more versatile.
Whoa, Nelly! Apparently hard work pays off!
Singer Kevin McCall lets the cameras behind the scenes to catch his workout session before the shooting of the video for his first single, “Naked”. And it seems he’s got muscle on the mic and in the gym, too.
“Naked” features G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean, while the video is directed by a multi-talented Chris Brown.

Birdman said it himself: “There is no Cash Money/Young Money without Lil’ Wayne.”
So, it comes as no surprise that Birdman pulled out all of the stops to re-sign the star, giving him a rumored $150 million, four-album record deal. Although Birdman wouldn’t confirm the sum, he did tell MTV that, “It’s probably the biggest deal ever in urban music.”
“I’m blessed to even do that,” Birdman said of the rumored figure. “Whatever my son want, he can get. It’s all his anyway, so it don’t really matter to me.”

This is different. Typically artists are rushing their labels to release their albums or complaining about sitting on the shelf, well Slaughterhouse’s Joe Budden is not your typical artist. In a recent interview with Jenny Boom Boom, Budden expressed his desire to have the album pushed back to a later release date. Check out what he said about it below:
“I’m hoping it gets pushed back to July,” Budden said. “I feel like when it’s your major label debut, more time, in this instance we’re only talking about two and a half weeks, that is important to me. The more time the better. It’s more time to prepare. … [The album’s] really good. It sounds big, large. If you listen to ‘My Life,’ that sounds grand. The music, the feel, that is the theme to me — it’s big. It’s triumphant. It’s introspective. It’s really good and it flows well.”
Slaughterhouse’s Shady Records debut, Welcome To: Our House is slated for a June 12 release. You can check out Joey’s full interview below:
(AllHipHop News) Jet Life Recordings CEO and founder Curren$y recently embarked on his “Stoned Immaculate Tour”, one that will make nearly 50 nationwide stops before its conclusion.
The tour also brings along his Jet Life Recordings family, including Mousa, Trademark da Skydiver, Young Roddy, Corner Boy P, Fiend, and Smoke Dza.
In a recent interview with AllHipHop.com, Curren$y talked about enjoying the overall success of his recent tours and the rapidly growing fan base across the country, despite being detained recently in Texas by the Dallas Police.
“I just said the other day, I am generally [pleased]. Yo, that’s crazy, that’s the last thing I said before the boys rolled on the bus. I tweeted, ‘I’m generally pleased with everything,’ and then Murphy came in,” Curren$y told AllHipHop.com. “Yo I never had a pair of handcuffs on me in my life, maybe in the bed with chicks… but that sh*t was terrible. I don’t wish that on nobody.”
The New Orleans bred rapper, who released seven projects in 2011 and 2012, also talked about his work ethic and his drive to continue to release music.
“It’s not work, see like it’s not work. Like I f*ckin think like, dudes like basketball players get basketball colored sh*t in their house and sh*t because they like to play basketball. It’s play basketball, it’s work, but play basketball. This sh*t is fun, I want to do it. It’s not work for them, it’s fun to break somebody’s ankles with basketball, just like it’s fun to be good at that sh*t, it’s fun to be good at rap,” Curren$y explained to AllHipHop.com.
“It’s nothing to me to put out 100 records tonight, and then go to sleep, and then once I think y’all know all words to that sh*t, then probably do this sh*t again, because I don’t have to go through some crazy process. I’m not sweating to write this sh*t, it’s nothing. I’m not even talking sh*t. Like, ’cause some people don’t even like my raps. People be like, ‘It sounds like he wrote that sh*t in five minutes.’ I did, that’s how I get down. I don’t feel like I’m doing work. The minute the sh*t feel like work, you supposed to quit.”
Curren$y’s latest album, The Stoned Immaculate, is available for pre-order now on his website, www.CurrensySpittta.com. Pre-orders include The Stoned Immaculate CD, an exclusive “Up In Smoke” Rolling Tray, and an instant, digital Mp3 download of “Fast Cars, Faster Women” featuring Daz Dillenger.
The Stoned Immaculate, set for release on June 5, features Wale, 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, Pharrell, Estelle, Big K.R.I.T., and the Jet Life family.

Marvel’s ultimate movie project will officially hit U.S. theaters tonight at midnight and is set for one of the highest box-office weekends in film history. The Avengers is everything you could want from a superhero movie, summer film, or blockbuster and director Joss Whedon has pulled off the unthinkable and created one of the most entertaining films of all time.
Before we get into our “10 Reasons to See Marvel’s Blockbuster Movie: The Avengers,” let’s get the basics out of the way. The Avengers is the ultimate team-up featuring your favorite superheroes, most of which have already received their own solo films. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) all reprise their respective roles from the Marvel Universe’s previous films and one together to put an end to Loki’s mission to essentially rule the Earth. If you need haven’t seen it already, check out the trailer here. (Editor’s note: There are some minor spoilers in this list.)
10. The Humor:
The Avengers is not only the best Marvel film to date, it’s also the funniest. This isn’t one of those “Tony Stark steals the show” kind of flicks either as you’ll see everyone getting in on the laughs from Thor to Hulk to Captain America and Agent Coulson. Of course you can always expect a majority of laughs to come from Robert Downer Jr.’s iconic Stark, but The Avengers makes it possible to make everyone look like the comedian of the group throughout the entire film.
9. Scarlett Johansson In 3D:
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Scarlett Johansson in 3D, kicking major *ss as S.H.I.E.L.D. operative Black Widow. While a majority of people who have seen the film will tell you that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is the stand-out character, I’ll go on record and say that while that sentiment is entirely true, Scarlett’s Black Widow is not far behind. She gets plenty of screen time, some of the most intense fight sequences, and as a “human with skills” she holds her own against demi-god’s, super soldiers, and giant green monsters.
8. Iron Man’s Mach VII Suit:
Thought that Stark’s suitcase suit in Iron Man 2 was cool? Just wait until you see what RDJ has up his sleeve for this go-around.
7. After-Credits Scene:
Dating back to Tony Stark’s first encounter with Nick Fury in Iron Man, every Marvel film has had an after-credits scene that built up to The Avengers. This film is no different and one of the extra scenes provides a great look at a possible foe for the superhero team in a future sequel. Make sure you stick around because there are two total scenes, the first being after the animated credits and the second following the total credits. Make sure you stick around!
6. Captain America vs. Iron Man:
The exchanges between Captain America and Iron Man, both verbally and physically, are some of the brightest moments of the film; of course you can’t just throw all these egos together and not expect them to duke it out once in awhile.
5. Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D.:
The heli-carrier, the Quinjet, the weapons, it’s all as awesome as you’d want it to be, but the real gem is Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. Whether he’s using words, fists or a rocket launcher, Jackson takes no prisoners as Fury and the fans can’t help but be glad that he does the character justice after his cameo-like appearances in some of the previous Marvel movies.
4. Action, Action, Action:
The Avengers is the definition of a a comic coming to life. All of the mayhem and destruction previously portrayed on pages fills the big screen with explosions, weapons, brawls, and superpowers that provide pure blockbuster entertainment. Without a doubt, The Avengers contains more action than all of the previous Marvel movies combined, so sit back and enjoy!
3. Preview Of What’s to Come From Future Marvel Movies:
The Avengers acts as an immediate sequel in a sense to the events of Captain America: The First Avenger and shows an adapting-to-the-times Steve Rogers trying to make sense of what he’s missed and how far things have advanced.
2. The Hulk We’ve Been Waiting For:
Fans have finally been given the big-screen Hulk they’ve been waiting decades for. We get to see Bruce Banner’s character in a more evolved state then fans will remember him from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Mark Ruffalo delivers gold as the character of Banner and the soul and movements he provides as a CGI monster are practically flawless. Watching Hulk “smash” is pure fanboy gold and one of the coolest things to witness on film as he decimates enemy after enemy in the most awesome fashion.
1. It’s The Avengers!!
Yeah, like you really need another reason to see this movie!

Diddy was a guest on Funkmaster Flex’s radio show on HOT 97 in NYC and spoke candidly about the recent murder conviction of former Bad Bay artist G-Dep.
“I was like, ‘Wow’. None of that was in G. Dep’s nature. When there were certain things that he was going through with the substance abuse situation, he’d be a different person, but on an everyday [basis], he was probably one of the nicest, most quietest, shyest, most humble cats that were out there. It was just so out of his character that it was mind-blowing.”
G-Dep confessed to the shooting in December 2010 – a long ago, botched robbery that resulted in the shooting death of a man named John Henkel. Dep will be sentenced on May 8 and faces 15 years to life in prison.
During the interview, Diddy also addressed hopping on Wale’s “Slight Work” remix alongside the former Robin to his Batman, Ma$e.
“Me and Mase are cool. We’ve kept in touch over the years. I love Mase,” he told Flex of the MC who once retired to become a preacher. “If it wasn’t for Mase, I wouldn’t be where I was at today. Me and him were like Batman and Robin. So it felt good to get back on a record with him, and it’s one of the hottest, most intense records in the club. That’s what I specialize in. And then talking that talk.”
Check out the full radio interview with Diddy here.

When we spoke to XV a few weeks back – before he headlined his first New York City show – he updated us on the status of his debut album,The Kid With the Green Backpack, which boasts Just Blaze as executive producer. We also discovered that XV isn’t just a Warner Bros. recording artist; he’s also a major movie and comic fan.
It was only natural, with the summer movie season officially upon us starting with tonight’s midnight release of The Avengers, to ask XV about his most anticipated summer movies. In a movie season that will see releases like The Dark Knight Rises, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Men In Black III and The Amazing Spider-Man among many others, the kid from Kansas picks his top three choices.

It looks like we were 100% right when we told you earlier this week that Nas’ 17-year-old daughter, Destiny Jones, is not upset with her dad over his song “Daughters”. In fact, several photos have leaked online today that show Destiny on the set of Nas’ new video for “Daughters”, which makes us believe that Destiny may be starring as herself in the video that chronicles Nas’ mistakes and triumphs as a dad.
Check out a few of the photos below, courtesy of Hip-Hop Wired.

ATL and famed music director Chris Robinson will be directing the No I.D. produced song and from the photo above, it looks like June Ambrose will be styling Nas and Destiny for the video.
Nas’ tenth album, Life Is Good, will be released on July 17th.
(AllHipHop News) This week, Cash Money Content’s Wahida Clark reached a milestone for the third time in her career as an urban author, as she finds her fiction novel, “Payback Ain’t Enough”, on the New York Times Bestsellers List.
Signed to a publishing deal under Cash Money Content (Simon & Schuster), owned by entrepreneurs Bryan “Birdman” Williams and his brother, Ronald “Slim” Williams, Clark has made an unlikely journey to the coveted book sales list.
Clark became a writer while serving a nine and a half year sentence in prison for fraud, including two and a half years in solitary confinement. She was signed to a national publishing deal while in prison, selling 100,000 books during her incarceration stint, and has sold more than 650,000 books to date.
With her Cash Money Content deal secure, Clark’s own company is reportedly worth over $1 million, and is home to 14 authors with 18 novels currently in stores. Her “Justify My Thug” debuted on Cash Money Content in 2011 at #19 on the bestsellers list.
AllHipHop.com spoke with Clark a few weeks ago, as she prepared for the debut of “Payback Ain’t Enough” on April 24. Read the interview here, and find Wahida Clark’s books in stores and on Amazon.com and other online retailers now.
