EXCLUSIVE: Damon Dash Expands Vision For Art Galleries To South Carolina, Hong Kong

DAMON DASH ANNOUNCES PLANS TO TAKE HIS VISION FOR ART TO SOUTH CAROLINA AND HONG KONG!

(AllHipHop News) Business mogul Damon Dash has announced plans to take his vision for art international, by opening galleries in South Carolina and eventually Hong Kong.

In September, Damon Dash opened his Poppington Art Gallery, which is located at 60 Orchard Street in downtown Manhattan.

Poppington is part of Dame Dash’s DD 172, an umbrella organization that includes the art gallery, a record label and other businesses.

In 2013, Damon Dash has his eyes set on the artistic community based in South Carolina.

“South Carolina is the New York of the South…with beaches…I like the town and there is a strong undiscovered artistic community from music to art,” Damon Dash told AllHipHop.com.

The move is inline with Dash’s global vision for DD172, which he founded to support the creation and distribution of works by artists, musicians, filmmakers and other creative types.

Dash hopes the move to South Carolina will help the growth of his brands, which he aims to turn into “a franchise.”

“We will be bringing artist that we show in our New York gallery to the South and artists that we show in the South to the New York gallery,” Dash explained. “It’s like a franchise. Next is Hong Kong.”
