Lupe Fiasco- SLR 2 [Response To Kendrick Lamar, Calls Him A Baby]

“Now we all heard what he said, but what he said means we dead/And that shit is insane/He’s so crazy, look at the little baby/N*gga you ain’t Nas, n*gga you ain’t Jay-Z”

Lupe Fiasco has honed the anger exhibited on Twitter towards Kednrick’s “Control” verse into a virtuoso lyrical performance with “SLR 2”.

Kendrick is not the only one who gets caught in Lu’s lyrical crossfire and makes direct criticism of Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail:

Took two sips of the holy grail/Then I backed up and I turned around/And I bent over and pittoo’d sh*t/I love Jay, that’s my n*gga/I feel sicker than a cruise ship

    • Casor_G

ROFLMAO!!! Lupe is alright, but he is always looking weak in these all hip-hop photos…

Plus the first few lines mentions too many bananas

  • 2012Industry1

Lupe is nice, don’t get me wrong….but this was kinda weak. He could have kept that! #stillreelingoffofJoell

  • dfwricwil

Dam. I don’t know what to say about this one…Hum…

  • Themachineyou

Kayos KeyiD – Ali The Greatest is the best response so far…PERIOD

  • ccwaterbound32

    …………. NO.

  • Dubz

I feel like this was the stuff K.Dot was talking shit about…You can come better then this Lupe.

  • brotha_man

    k.dot hurt alot feelings

  • disqus_F3SFfXt18q

sounds like a hater…he wasn’t even mentioned in the verse

  • Michael Thompson II

Like buddy said before me, KDot hurt a lot of rappers feelings. This was weak, BoB response was weak, haven’t heard Fred the Godson yet. The only good response was from Joell and he a N.Y. dude. #STEP YA BARS UP

Kayos KeyiD – Ali (I am the Greatest) Resopnd to Kendrick Lamar’s Control verse.

    Verse 1

Not born in the Mecca but i made my pilgrimage

Hip to the hop Melle Mel, Bambaataa

Bleed through my pen rap Alma mater

Pouring out some liquor for my Jukebox

Death to you sellouts on the tube box, mic check tool cocked

Hip-Hop is the new Jazz, Rappers are the new Chaz Williams

But sing more blues than Blake Williams, eat the crude up like Mycelium

So we can save the babies from these streets filled with rabies

Revolution is my grammar like A.Davis

Tougher than Bats, harder than Louisville slugger, everybody home run Bkfull Dodgers

One for the money, all for the party, gnarley.

No contenders drop words like Judo, heavy ra ta tat tat boom like Bhuto

I am true like Truedell, sacred geometry is all life fuel.

Energy conscious grid, new life new well

Could have never said i was a destitute poor

Unfair advantage, leaped across, crossed that Atlantic systematic slaughter

Call my flows ice or pristine water, no buck no quarters

I am the full 100, you don’t want it, please get off that, where your boss at?

Let me X that of the hit list and all that.

I am the Man they bet upon, you the Devil with the Guillotine

You like the Moon, I am the Sun, I am scorching

Run your Jewels like a marathon often, walk through your hood where your body guard

I come through shake hands with the locals, Kayos is focal, point out the plight

    Ja Rastafari I Ali.

    Verse 2

Described as Ecstasy, control the grind stone, hustle every portion of it, use caution

A cool fly kid, honnies try for his abortions.

Toughest of tough guys nap for tried extortions.

High no sky, fascinated with this life, scuffle through the lost scrolls

Trying to find the scriptures where the rubber meets the road

Connected as a Fetus via or by umbilical, spiritually hooked like Peter’s Basilica

Not influenced by the whip lash miracle, indeed I rhyme empirical

Burn a bag to meditate the past and lost secrets

Thinking hard upon the last dynasties of Egypt

Thinking should we form a legion, fusion with emerging markets

Seeking closure, open brackets. Rhyming forever bring dime in like rackets

Attorney tried to serve me, maneuver Mafioso, I did jobs in Jersey

I am the best most certainly. My Outburst Bio-atomic Nuclear blast

Paint me half Pablo, Paint me half Basquiat

Paint master piece Matisse then off to war like Braque

I found a piece of Hip-Hop, my life changed

Chaos catastrophe, prophecy a dime game, nice name, nice lane

Used to be for killers from the crack game, loop holed the price of fame, Gladiators die

I am two times too liver than the nuisance who lied

the people cant tell them apart from the new guy, no use for the futile

New younger cats too wild, should I Suge Knight them?

Should i send the Gods down to smite them?

The black Bold pipe holders and Cojacks on radius

Move you like Stokley Carmichael plus furious

World change, seems from the barrel of rifle imperialist

Sex change cycle deal with it with bally like Cali.

Finally! I response I actually wanna hear.

  • Tjzoo

Really? Lupe talking about being a baby when constantly rants all over Twitter… Negro Please

    • chosenxeno

Lupe makes valid points. He was right about his label getting in his way. His last Album was a lot better than Lasers because they left him alone.

      You can’t Coach a Genius

This nigga can rap when he’s motivated. And I appreciate the fact that he ain’t afraid to speak his mind

  • That_N

This doesn’t really sound like a response to Kendrick song. Every song that comes out in the next few weeks is gonna be labeled as a Kendrick “diss”. FOH

  • j_pullia

Good Kendrick verse, but overated!!! Thats what happen when you listen to trash all day like 2chainz, French Montana, cheef keef, and trinidad james. The niggas he name dropped are the ones putting out good music. Name drop some of these bums getting free money for poisoning our youth!!! By the way, Royce, Nas, Em, Kweli, Pharoah, and Elhzi will destroy his ass!! As well as so many others!

    • $17637591

He was only callin out new school rappers. Those new comers he left off
should feel DISSED because that meant Kendrick feels they aint even in
the conversation. Jay Elec fans are the only ones who think Kendricks verse was 0verated?

      DETROIT HARD HEADZ

      • j_pullia

I love Jay Elec, but I have to admit kendrick had a better verse this time. I do believe that Jay Elec is a better mc though.

  • Best response yet!! Its fact not emotions

    • Thomas Smith

no it wasn’t lupe can do better than that…B.O.B. could do better than that…..it feels like the ones that were not mention are exactly the reason why they are not mention in the song…..when I saw that lupe had a response I really couldn’t wait to hear it but once again disappointed just like with b.o.b……smh

  • Fokie Bourne

this is defiantly the best response so far ya’ll going over board with the joel ortiz song man he really did’nt say that much.

  • All I heard was bananas.

    • og kush

Bet u did small attention span nigga

  • og kush

Im sorry imma say it, yall niggas too stupid to understand Lupe. For niggas that neva read a book Kendrick be Steve Jobs to them niggas.

    • chosenxeno

Co-sign. His shit is not “Rap for Dummies” lol. It’s music for the listener.

      • theKID

Lupe is that nigga! I think if he had went the same route as the 1st SLR he woulda been the clear standout thus far as responses tho. He SLAUGHTERED that track while takin shots on a diff level than this new 1

      • johnblacksad

it’s not about his ability to rhyme, it’s his confused attitude outside of the booth…

    • Spadey

      Strictly for the purist!

  • Joell Ortiz’s response was the best. Lupe’s one of my favorites, but I expected better from him. He spit on this shit, but he’s capable of so much more. Just my 2 cents.

  • Islamic_King

Joell Ortiz, Mickey Factz, & now Cassidy has the best responses. This was super light for Lupe he be on some other type of shit lately this isn’t the mixtape/first two albums Lupe with the bars. He got to step it up and stop bullshitting. -Alhamdulilah

  • $17637591

Lupe feels some type of way cuz Kendrick didn’t mention him along with Jay Em 3000 and Nas. I love that Kendrick makin ni99az step they game up and release new music. Lupe did come hard wit these bars i must say. LMAO,,,,he said he took a shyt in JayZ’s Holy Grail. This track is fire!

    DETROIT HARD HEADZ

  • taz

kevin hart got the best response

  • Weedras

had some nice bars in there but overall the joint was a bit untidy…

  • MrJayK

Man Lupe used to be a favorite for me, but all his bitchin and complainin throws me off. Jay co-signed this dude, and he decides to shit all over MCHG outta nowhere. He calls Kendrick a baby, but he’s the one always whining and complaining.

  • Obi Won

SLR 2!!, Can’t lie this was cool, I mean its Lupe so u KNEW it was going to be some clever wordplay. So far not the best response but definitely in the running for top 5.

  • Jay Tee

Lupe isn’t hard enough for this!!! He’s a cool lil dude I like his stuff, but he’s too soft.

    • chosenxeno

Not enough fake gun talk for you huh?

    • Matt Swan

Cass brought it seriously. BoB was…….wtf with the guitar? Gotta find Joel

  • Mos High

To me this was weak. I like Lupe, hopefully this was just some track he put down that is a rough cut not a final product. Anything rappers put out will be judged so Kendrick you did a great job lighting a fire under many rappers

    • KingsCountyCrooklyn

Lupe went hard on the lyrics but some thing was definitely off, not sure what it is could need mastering or may be how he delivered the vocals by not using a steady flow.
