(AllHipHop Rumors) Although “Do You Mind” shot to No. 1 on the rhythmic charts yesterday, the performance of the hit single last night at the AMA Awards was a bit awkward.
When an artist gets accused of lip synching it stirs up all kinds of slander and controversy, so R&B singer August Alsina definitely felt the wrath during and after the performance.
August took to his Instagram to provide some clarity in his live American Music Awards performance.
August explained that the award show had his mic turned off preventing him from singing live. He expressed his frustration with rehearsing all week, then to go radio silent on stage.
The AMAs had him hot as he posted two posts about it,
“When yo mic ain’t on so you just do the #mannequinchallenge in front of 11millon viewers at the #lipsyncparty AKA the AMA’s 😒 … Yeah, that part 😐🙄,” said Alsina.
Hell it looks like everyone’s mic was off except DJ Khaled’s. It definitely seemed clear that Nicki Minaj was lip synching. How mad would you be to attend rehearsal and have to lip sync that joint! Carry on.
Rehearsed all week only to have AMA's not have my mic on for live TV feed 😒 pretty Fuckin WACK, so I definitely understand the "lip-sync" talk. I feel played just like you do. Anyhow Thankyou for the opportunity AMA's & overall a good time with my brother @djkhaled Do you mind is the number 1 record in the country so nonetheless, I am blessed. Wanna hear me live, come to a show that's in MY control bihhhhhh! Lol Love yal.
