(AllHipHop News) Some people know Stone Mountain, Georgia native Donald Glover as “Troy” on NBC’s Community. Others know him as the rapper Childish Gambino. Soon he may be best known for writing, producing, and starring in his own FX sit-com.
According to Deadline, the show is tentatively titled Atlanta and will center around the music scene in ATL. It has already been announced that Glover’s role on Community will be reduced next season to just five of thirteen episodes.
Glover got his start in the entertainment business as member of the sketch comedy group Derrick Comedy at New York University. He went on to become a writer for 30 Rock. He also appeared in the second season of the HBO series Girls.
As Childish Gambino, the 29-year-old actor/rapper has released four projects including 2011’s Camp. Gambino was a featured guest on Cyhi the Prynce’s Ivy League: Kick Back, Funkmaster Flex’s Who You Mad At? Me Or Yourself?, and Chance The Rapper’s Acid Rap earlier this year.
