(AllHipHop News) Detroit rapper Big Sean received the key to his hometown yesterday (April 1), and a ceremony that was attended by the mayor.

Big Sean’s non-profit the Sean Anderson Foundation recently kicked off the Mogul Prep Experiential Tour.

The rapper teamed with Quicken Loans to promote a new curriculum his foundation created to be utilized by thousands of middle and high school students and educators.

Over 100 students from local area high schools attended the ceremony, which took place at The Madison Building.

“Big Sean not only represents Detroit in song, he has worked tirelessly for the young people of Detroit,” Mayor Mike Duggan said.

“Through the work of his foundation, Big Sean has impacted thousands of Detroit youth. That’s why we are honoring him with the Key to the City,” the Mayor continued. “The City and I thank Big Sean for his commitment to being an instrument of encouragement to the youth of Detroit.”
