(AllHipHop Rumors) Let us put this in perspective. Some are going to say I am caping for Dr. Dre and maybe I am. But I am going to say it anyway. First of all, if you know the state of Death Row in the 90’s, it is very clear that Dr. Dre was under the gun and thumb of one Suge Knight. Remember, Snoop’s album dropped after a lot of beef and violence with Ruthless Records and Eazy-E and also after The Chronic (Dre’s first album) had hit the streets hard. Now, if you look closely Dr. Dre only truly did TWO full albums on Death Row Records – these two!
So, this brother Emmanuel Dean was an in-house producer/ keyboardist for Death Row and his credentials are authentic. So, before I continue, read this:
Well, he’s telling the full truth.
I think Dr. Dre was under duress to such a degree that he was unable to do anything for this brother. And he admitted to Brother Dean that he put in that work but never got the credit. I honestly look at that as a sign of the times – 1991! You know how many people were getting screwed and jerked in ’91? EVERYBODY! And Death Row was one of the most corrupt, empowered organizations ever and they were infused with energy by Interscope Records. Dre would depart Death Row soon after this to start another label and great success!
Anyway, there is a sad side to this story that I realized as I was writing this. Brother Emmanuel Dean passed away this year! I am not saying he wasn’t done wrong. I am saying he was an unfortunate symbol of a period in time when people were getting “raped” left and right with “no Vaseline” to quote Ice Cube.
The first recipient of a $50K grant went to East Liberty’s Hope Academy of Music and the Arts, who plans to use the money to expand their Suzuki music program.
It’s not every day you get a co-sign from Flo Rida. Insert LV, who you may recognize from her IG handle @lvtheartist.
At age 19, LV decided to dedicate her whole life to the music. In writing and recording her own songs, she quickly gained a following and created a buzz, especially back home in Phoenix.
However, Miami’s culture and laidback vibe got a hold of her and she hasn’t looked back since.
Most recently, LV unleashed the official music video for her single “I Got You,” bringing fans into her world in Florida and all the state has to offer.
The single hails from her debut EP XCITED, her mood for life.
AllHipHop: Talk about your relationship with Flo Rida. How did he find you?
LV: I started recording at his studio for 4 or 5 months before I ever even met him. I was working with some of his producers, some of his people. He was actually out here in California shooting a video to his single with E-40 and Sage. I flew out here to meet him, he’s on the road like 365 days a year damn near. His people had initiated some interest of wanting to make a deal, they’re like “we want you to meet Flo. We want him to see you in person, catch a vibe and hear your music.”
We ended up flying out here to meet him, we partied. I don’t remember where we partied, but we had such a great time. I flew back the next day and kept working for another 4 or 5 months, then we ended up doing a deal. I immediately went on the road with Flo for a little while, but I wanted to make sure I didn’t take away from my authenticity and losing my identity. Making sure I was creating my songs and performing my own shows before I was just performing on his shows. He gave me a lot of really big opportunities to perform at the Orange Bowl and a lot of these big half-time shows with Miami Heat and the Dolphins, so it’s been great.
AllHipHop: Best piece of advice he’s given you?
LV: One that I actually really hate, he always tells me to be patient and that’s really hard for me. Because as all artists, we want everything right now. We want everything to happen quicker and faster. He’s always reiterated “you’re a star, you have everything it takes. You just have to be patient, your time will come. It’s coming, just be patient.” That’s the best and the worst because it’s something I don’t want to hear, but I need to hear it. He’s very adamant about that.
AllHipHop: What are some goals yourself as an artist at this point of your career?
LV: Definitely broadening my fanbase. I want to reach as many people as possible because everyone that has taken the time to hear my music, has really loved it. Maybe they just wouldn’t tell me to my face, but I haven’t ever had an experience where someone’s been like “oh she’s wack.” It’s about getting out there more. Like this, having more opportunities to get heard and get my name out there. That’s a goal within itself just reaching more and more and more people. Of course, I want to see it all the way to the top. I want to be traveling the whole world. That’s my ultimate goal, to reach the world.
AllHipHop: Who’s the most played artist on your phone?
LV: Probably Tory Lanez. He has a song called “For Me.” “I do that for me, roll up, get lit. I do that for me.” That’s my s##t.
AllHipHop: Dream collab?
LV: Definitely Beyonce because she’s just the all-over idol. Her or I’d probably go crazy to get Drake on a record. Chris Brown.
AllHipHop: Why should people check for you?
LV: Because I’m dope. [laughs] I’m actually authentic. I write all my own stuff. I’ve actually been doing music for quite a while, it’s not like I just popped up out of nowhere. People will really relate to my words and my music. There’s something for everybody. It’s not just one genre, not just one topic, it’s all feelings, all genres combined. There’s something for everybody to love.
AllHipHop: Anything you want to let us know?
LV: Just follow me on social media @lvtheartist. Reach out to me. I reply to everybody, even DMs. I really take the time to go through all my DMs. Anyone who wants to collaborate, if it makes sense. If I think you’re dope, I’m always down to collab and work with new artists.
But just a few years ago, she almost turned her back on music, telling Elle, “I just felt like I was throwing music into the world and not even making a splash. A tree was falling in the forest and not making a sound, you know? I was crying in my room all day. I said, ‘If I stop making music now, nobody would f##king care’.”
She credits an unnamed producer for giving her a pep talk that encouraged her to keep going when she had hit rock bottom: “So I just made the decision to keep going as an artist, and I’m so grateful I did, but it was by the skin of my teeth,” she admitted.
And she was given another boost when she got the chance to work with Prince on his 2014 song “Boy Trouble” with her Chalice bandmate Sophia Eris.
“I miss those days,” she shares. “Not just when Prince was physically with us, but how it felt to be young and excited about music, and life, and not knowing what was next, and not having money but manifesting our dreams. There’s a spirit of adventure that I took away from that – to never let life and music not feel adventurous, and to always push yourself and believe in the magic you’re creating.”
“Our sweet baby girl, Marli, is here,” Corley captioned a photo of the newborn wearing a onesie that read:
“I Am Who He Says I Am.”
Chance and his wife are already parents to four-year-old daughter Kensli.
They announced the fact they were expecting a second child shortly after exchanging vows, with the rap star posting: “We pregnant again. Its a girl. JESUS CHRIST. WE LOVE YOU GOD.
(AllHipHop Rumors) I peeped earlier this week where the AllHipHop Team was on the red carpet for the new Hulu series “Wu Tang: An American Saga.” The show talks about the rise of the greatest rap group of all time – The Wu Tang Clan! Now, as you already know the crew has grown up a lot since those days. In a recent documentary, somebody said they don’t see each other very much at all. So, D-Nellz, one of our illustrious hosts, got the chance to talk to RZA and slipped in a question about new Wu music, among other stuff. Here is what he said:
Well, that answer was inconclusive so we are just going to keep hope alive! Have you seen the show yet? It is very good! There are some minor parts I personally do not care for, but I mostly love it!
Speaking of Wu, there is more coming from the crew regarding the show and the legacy. We talked to others from the show like Raekwon, Dave East and more! Check out some of it.
It was so cool seeing ODB’s daughter talk! WOW! Taniqua Jones is also doing some stuff on her own as well! So, that’s cool! There are some more rumors around this event, but I can’t say at the moment. I will say this – there are a lot of people from Hip-Hop in the background working hard to make this authentic and that I can appreciate. Shout out to Patrick and D-Nellz, who worked the red carpet to the fullest!
Here are some pictures from the red carpet as well as the after party later on that night.

(AllHipHop News) “I’m excited for this record because I really love this song …The beat is Fireee! DROPS MIDNIGHT,” tweeted Cardi B on Thursday. Fat Joe’s new single “Yes” featuring Cardi and Anuel AA did arrive early Friday morning.
Joey Crack references City Girls’ “Act Up” record, Bardi raps about murder and money, and Anuel spits a Spanish-language verse. The Cool & Dre-produced track is expected to show up on Fat Joe’s forthcoming Family Ties album.

(AllHipHop News) On September 4, Hulu began streaming the first three installments of its new scripted biographical series about the Wu-Tang Clan. The 10-part Wu-Tang: An American Saga tells the story of how the prominent Hip Hop collective formed back in the early 1990s.
David “Dave East” Brewster plays Method Man, Joey Bada$$ plays Inspectah Deck, Ashton Sanders plays RZA, TJ Atoms plays Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Siddiq Saunderson plays Ghostface Killah, and Johnell Xavier Young plays GZA. The cast also features Shameik Moore (Dope, The Get Down) as Raekwon The Chef. AllHipHop caught up with the real-life Rae to ask him about An American Saga.
“We’ve been in a grand groove of things for a minute. We always visioned this, it can happen one day, but we didn’t know when,” says Raekwon. “Now we got a chance to paint a picture, and now this is the crème de la crème that everybody always wanted to see: something on y’all’s history, where y’all come from, how y’all were thinking, what was going on. So a great movie was made to inspire y’all based on our lives.”
When Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) came out in 1993, there is no way the Wu-Tang Clan could have known the Staten Island-based group would become so impactful around the globe. Over 25 years later, the Wu logo is now synonymous with artistic excellence.
“We didn’t know we were going to be influential when we were doing it. It’s just about taking what you learned and applying it and being the best at it and surrounding yourself with an organization that believes you really get down. It was a simple plan,” says Raekwon, the creator of the classic album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…
The Chef adds, “If I say, ‘Yo, I’m being taught by the best teachers, g########, I better be a graduate soon.’ And, when I say graduate, not to where I’m talking about college or anything like that, just being a student or graduate, somebody that’s listening, being a good learner. Because if you are a good listener, you’re going to be a good learner. So I think what we did, we just supplied what we felt that people could relate to.”
New episodes of Wu-Tang: An American Saga premiere every Wednesday on Hulu. The program was created by Alex Tse and The RZA and executive produced by Tse, The RZA, Method Man, Brian Grazer, Michael Rosenberg, and Francie Calfo.

“This is my version of a stand-up comedy album. Most of my close friends now aren’t rappers – they’re comedians and actors. So I wanted to create something that mixed humor with music. Something that was funny but not parody,” says Brown.

Additionally, Danny Brown will hit the road for a 27-date North American tour. The journey begins in Atlanta at the Afropunk festival before closing out on November 19 in Montreal, Quebec.
(AllHipHop News) Once again, Nicki Minaj was the topic of conversation on the internet. The “Megatron” rapper had many of her Barbz in their feelings when Nicki announced she was retreating from the music scene.
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, ❌ in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. ✅ Love you for LIFE ♥️ ,” tweeted Minaj on Thursday afternoon.
Social media users then began questioning if the retirement message was meant to be taken seriously or if Nicki was just trolling her fans. She returned to the platform to address her 20 million followers about the sudden announcement.
“I’m still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe ♥️ ,” posted the 36-year-old Hip Hop veteran.
Throughout her career, Nicki Minaj has released three mixtapes and four studio albums. She has won 6 American Music Awards, 11 BET Awards, 4 Billboard Music Awards, and 5 MTV Video Music Awards. Plus, the Young Money megastar holds the record for most career entries on the Hot 100 chart for a female artist.

At one point, the three emcees discussed the controversial partnership between Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter’s Roc Nation entertainment company and the National Football League. The deal involves the two brands uniting to support the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative which focuses on education and economic advancement, police and community relations, and criminal justice reform.
“To me, I don’t see it as being a big issue. I think either they’re going to hire Live Nation or they’re going to hire Roc Nation. Why not let Roc Nation do what Live Nation was going to do?” suggested Cube.
He added, “The NFL could never solve the problem that [Colin] Kaepernick was talking about. It’s apples and oranges. Kap is talking about police brutality. The NFL has nothing to do with that. All the NFL has is a platform, and they’re willing to use their platform, now, to speak out against it. So, let’s use the platform. Let’s let them spend that money. Why let them off the hook? And they’re using somebody who can give money back to the culture. So, I don’t have a problem with it, whatsoever.”
Some critics took issue with Jay-Z working with the NFL while alleged blackballed quarterback Colin Kaepernick is still not signed to a franchise after taking a knee during the national anthem to protest systemic oppression in America. LL Cool J said, “Personally, I understand what [Jay-Z’s] doing. I get it, and I see the vision, but at the same time I do understand there are some people, who cannot get past the pain.”
Mak Sauce has all the drip, and he is not phased by any of you rappers.
Hailing from Atlanta (although he claims he’s born on Saturn), the 18-year-old has only been making music for a year and half. Already inking a deal with Sony Music/Orchard, he’s been building his fanbase through consistent bangers and fire visuals.
Most recently, he unleashed “Do It” featuring DaBaby and “Good Morning.”
AllHipHop: For those who don’t know, who is Mak Sauce?
Mak Sauce: Mr. Yaas! I don’t really like to explain myself, I gotta leave it up to the people. If I put myself in a category, I feel like I box myself in. So I let them decide who I am.
AllHipHop: At what point did you realize this music thing was forreal?
Mak Sauce: As soon as I put my voice on the mic, that motherf##ker sounded fire. I said “I’m finna do this s##t.” I ain’t ever do no halfway in. As soon as I did it, I was all the way with it. I don’t ever half-step with that s##t, I was all the way in.
AllHipHop: Talk about linking with DaBaby on “Do It.” Was that done in the studio?
Mak Sauce: It was lit. It was a good experience, everything that happened was fun. A lot of ass, a lot of cash. I recorded the song in Atlanta, he told us to meet them in Denver so we flew out there. He was on tour and told us to pull up. We went to the strip club and shot the video, s##t was lit.
AllHipHop: What’s your relationship with him?
Mak Sauce: We both go crazy in the booth. We both monsters in the booth. He hard, I’m hard, we both doing our own thangs. He goes crazy. 100% salute to him, that’s a real n##ga.
AllHipHop: Being only 18, what are some goals yourself as an artist at this point of your career?
Mak Sauce: I wanna be on James Brown and Prince level. They’re my idols, only artists I got on my phone. Them and Young Thug.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite song off So Much Fun?
Mak Sauce: Surf! Surf! Surf! Surf! I’m a big Thug fan, I be on everything that n##ga do.
AllHipHop: Do you freestyle or write your lyrics?
Mak Sauce: Hell nah, I’ve only written one song and that was while I was in jail.
AllHipHop: What were you in jail for?
Mak Sauce: Bulls##t, we aren’t gonna talk about that s##t. I was 16 or 17. I went to jail a couple times. Bad as hell, doing dumb s##t.
AllHipHop: Biggest lesson from being locked up?
Mak Sauce: Don’t get locked up! [laughs] That’s the biggest lesson. f##k that, I hate jail. That s##t weak.
AllHipHop: Are you really in love with Miley Cyrus?
Mak Sauce: Yes, for sure. She g###### perfect for me. Everything about her perfect from head to toe. I can’t explain it: her eyelashes, her left toe, her big toe, her fingernail, her index finger, that motherf##ker perfect!
(AllHipHop News) Stormzy is using his platform to ensure black artists are given equal representation.
The grime star is one of Britain’s biggest musical acts and returned after a two-year break earlier this year with the first new material from his upcoming sophomore album.
During the gig, the crowd joined in on the track, with lyrics including, “F##k the government and f##k Boris” – a dig at Conservative party politician Boris Johnson who, shortly afterward, became Britain’s Prime Minister.
Reflecting on the moment, the star, real name Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo, Jr., explained its significance, sharing: “I was stood arm-in-arm with so many people up there.
“I’ve always had a sense of duty in my career. As much as I might be the artist up there, I’ve risen from a community. I’ve been championed by the public and by my people. Every time I’m on the stage like that it’s because of so many different people,” the “Crown” star continued. “Often in British culture, there has only been one or two or three black people in the spotlight at one time. But, nah, that’s over now. There are so many of us that the world should hear.
“So when I did that, I was just thinking that I need to let people know that it’s not just myself. It’s not just Stormzy. There are bare of us…”
Mac Miller died on September 7, 2018, from snorting counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl.
The day after Mac Miller died, police retrieved his cell phone and reviewed its contents to figure out who was selling the rapper hardcore drugs like cocaine, Adderal and Xanax.
Mac Miller’s phone contained several text messages between Mac and Pettit, as well as Mac and a woman named Mia Johansson.
Mia Johansson is accused of being a madam who was providing drugs and prostitutes to Mac Miller throughout 2018.
Johansson eventually introduced Mac Miller to Cameron Pettit, and the rap star started buying drugs directly from him.
The cops believe Pettit provided the doses that killed Mac Miller to Johansson, who used a prostitute as a drug courier to deliver the pills to the rap star.
On September 5, just two days before Mac died, he paid Johansson using Venmo for drugs that Pettit supplied.
The rapper bought five oxycodone pills, five Xanax pills, 10 Adderall pills, five Norco pills and two grams of cocaine.
The deadly drugs were then delivered to the rapper by Karla Amador AKA Carolina Cortez, a p### star home Mac Miller was patronizing.
On September 8th, just one day after Mac Miller’s death, Cameron Pettit seemed to acknowledge his responsibility in delivering the drugs that killed Mac.
And Cameron Pettit revealed he was contemplating fleeing the United States to live under an assumed identity.
Police took Pettit into custody yesterday (September 4) and he is currently being held without bail because he is a flight risk.
So far, Mia Johansson has yet to be charged.
And Carolina Cortez seemed to acknowledge her own role in Mac’s death on her Twitter account, when she reposted a message which read:
“She’s just caught up in the cross fire, she didn’t kill mac, the only person guilty is cam for supplying fake oxy. carolina would have had no way of knowing what was in mac’s pills, everyone here to leave hate needs to chill.”
(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly’s federal child pornography trial in Chicago, Illinois has been tentatively scheduled for April 2020.
The embattled R&B star will also face charges of obstruction of justice, but the judge overseeing the case made it clear during a hearing on Wednesday the trial date could be moved to accommodate similar legal matters in three other judicial districts.
Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg, told the court on Wednesday he wasn’t sure his client’s legal team would be ready by April.
He reminded the prosecutors the defense lawyers have another three cases to prepare for.
The next hearing is set for September 18. Next year’s trial is expected to last three weeks.
(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj has decided to retire.
The rapper made the stunning announcement on Twitter Thursday and sent shockwaves all over the Internet.
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now,” the 36-year old rapper tweeted. “To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE ♥️.”
The Barbz seemed to largely be in disbelief at the news, but the rapper has been prepping them for quite some time.
The Queens-bred rapper previously revealed that she would marry her fiancee soon and also had obtained a marriage license.
The news is sudden, partially because Minaj has been releasing or feature on a number of songs. “Megatron,” for example, was released on June 21 and reached No. 1 on iTunes, the same outlet as he Queen Radio. It debuted at No. 20.
Through the year, she has been featured on song with Trina, Chris Brown and hot newcomer Megan Thee Stallion.
