(AllHipHop News) Sometimes, you have to flex if you got it.
For Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, this means dropping big bucks on a new home.
Last year, a beautiful, contemporary mansion in the high-end town of La Jolla, California near the water was listed for sale at $30 million.
After a game-changing price drop and change in realtors, the crib, known as “The Razor House,” was sold last week for $20.8 million.
The buyers? None other than the hip-hop super couple, who can definitely afford the home, given the accolades in their musical careers.
What’s interesting is both artists are East Coast-based, leaving it a mystery on their connection to the home near downtown San Diego.
The spacious property includes 10,653 square feet of room inside, with luxury features such as a home theater, gym, library, all-glass elevator and a kitchen with custom designer appliances.
Almost every wall in the residence is comprised of glass, with the floors hewn from travertine stone.
Also, a long infinity pool hangs over the cliff’s edge, with mesmerizing views of the hills and the ocean below.
(AllHipHop News) Rest in peace to Eazy-E, who passed away on March 26, 1995.
The West Coast legend, dubbed the Godfather of Gangsta Rap, was best known for founding Ruthless Records and hip-hop group N.W.A.
Over the weekend, Eazy, born Eric Wright, received a new tombstone to mark what would have been his 55th birthday (September 7).
Family and friends of the Compton rapper gathered at Rose Hills Cemetery for the replacement ceremony and upgraded his with a much larger and detailed headstone.
The new marker proclaims Eazy “The Godfather of Gangsta Rap” at the very top, next to the rapper’s signature.
Multiple photos of the rapper are displayed along with the line “He Put Compton on the Map.”
Eazy-E’s son Lil Eazy E shared.a picture with his 166K followers on Instagram of himself looking over the new vibrant tombstone, with flowers placed all around.
The caption reads, “We love n Miss you so much HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPS……Make shure my s### read EAZY MUTHAFUCCIN E it’s a Fact to B Exact My Tombstone should read HE PUT COMPTON ON THE MAP”………… THE MUTHAFUCCIN REAL Hashtags #EAZYE WHEN U GO VISIT Plz.”
(AllHipHop Rumors) YO! I hope you guys are happy, because today is Sunday! And guess what? Today’s another edition of Kanye West’s Sunday Service and the word is, it was lit! I am not sure why it was lit, because church is never lit. But, then again…yes it is!
I have to say it is pretty good to see him get back to some sort of normalcy, if that is even logical to say. I still stay in my feelings about the Trump support, but this seems to bring him back “home” – literally.
Moving right along…
Another feel good moment…Eazy-E, the pioneering rapper and businessman, has a new grave. This may seem weird to some, but to me, it is special. That man got a raw deal from the Hip-Hop Nation when he died. He was on the wrong side of a battle that he should have been on the right side. And then he passed away in the midst of it all. Well, yesterday was his birthday. By the way, yesterday was also Mac Miller’s death day. People were sad. He was a good kid! Anyway!
Back to Eazy! Family and friends of the legendary Ruthless Records founder came together to celebrate his life at his grave site! I wish I knew! I would have been there! (OK, no I wouldn’t because I cannot afford the ticket, but that’s another story.) Here is some of the visuals.
“You scared to rape a b####, I can’t relate” “Rape Rape on the first f###### date”
I won’t say the rapper’s name, but I have to say that a rapper saying this is deeply concerning to me. What? I am not an advocate of violence, but this dude needs his whole a$$ whipped for overtly advocating rape and putting that out there for people to chant back. Big problems!
(AllHipHop News) Chris Brown has been having a standout year, especially with the release of his most recent album Indigo.
The 32-track project features standout singles “Indigo,” “No Guidance” featuring Drake,” and “Heat” featuring Gunna.
Unfortunately, the R&B singer now finds himself on the end of another lawsuit.
One of his backup dancers is suing Chris after someone at a video shoot poured fake blood in her eyes, which was allegedly toxic.
The Blast obtained legal documents revealing a woman named Danielle Griffin claims “a wardrobe and make-up artist with the first name Angel carelessly and negligently poured fake liquid blood on (her) head without eye protection after assuring her that the substance was safe.”
Griffin said she received major injuries to both her eyes and she blames Chris and the production team.
The lawsuit also claims they had a duty to ensure the fake blood would be safe and properly tested for use on the dancers as a safety precaution.
The video shoot transpired two years ago, and she says she has had no assistance in her recovery.
(AllHipHop Rumors) There once was a beloved song by Slick Rick called “A Teenage Love” and this song is the first one that came to my mind when I saw Lil Mama hail mary Meek Mill!
Well, this is what happened…
First of all, we need to recognize that YG and Kehlani are dating and have been dating for months. They are out and the masses are on it and celebrating their love in the media. Actually, they didn’t want the media on them, but they got caught out there. Nuff said.
Well, in his own way, Meek Mill celebrated their love too under the auspices of “hot girl summer.”
As you can see, Lil Mama didn’t take long to to jump right in the comments, in front of us all. Now, for those that remember, Lil Mama is known to jump out of the window and do things – perhaps without thinking.
Anyway, I think it is safe to say that this won’t work. However, it is nice to see that people are talking about her. She’s actually still one of the better rappers. Lets go!
(AllHipHop News) Several people suffered minor injuries during Lil Wayne’s Annual Lil WeezyAna Fest over the weekend.
Top rappers like Megan Thee Stallion, Kash Doll, Saweetie, Trey Songz, Future, Travis Scott and Meek Mill were in town at the UNO Lakefront Arena, to perform at Lil Wayne’s festival.
According to witnesses, over 15,000 people ran for safety, destroying parts of the stage, a medical tent, and some concession stands, as they headed for the fences, some of which were also torn down.
Unfortunately, some of the people in the crowd took advantage of the chaos and looted the concession stands as people fled.
Some of the patrons of the festival started pouring their own drinks, and others stole the cash registers and tip jars.
Travis Scott eventually hit the stage and the festival continued without any problems.
Travis was followed by Lil Wayne, who ended the show by bringing out a variety of guests including Future, DJ Khaled and Choppa.
(AllHipHop News) Last week, Common presided over the opening ceremonies for Art In Motion, a new charter school which will eventually serve over 1,000 students.
Art In Motion is starting off the school season with its first class of 7th and 8th graders.
Over time, Art In Motion hopes to broaden its capability to teach grades 9 through 12 as well.
“I talked about the revolution bt this truly is a revolution. And as I talked about the revolution, I understand now that the revolution is not only economic, it’s not only like social, it’s emotional too,” Common said. “And we going have all those aspects here at this school for our children to be able to breathe. And to be able to see and to be able to dream and to be able to pray and to be able to think and create.”
The Chicago rapper thanked his mother Mahalia Hines, who sits on the Chicago Board of Education.
Common affirmed that his mom was the one who showed him the value and significance of having a good education.
“I just want to thank my mom for instilling education and giving me the opportunity to be able to be here. That’s the reason I’m here. And I just thank God for this moment,” the Chicago native told the crowd.
Opening Art In Motion is the latest power move Common has made in Chicago in 2019.
In June, it was announced the rapper is working with real-estate developers to build an enormous movie studio campus as part of the South Works redevelopment project.
“Aim to be significant, not famous” is more than just an Instagram quote in her bio, but the very words Jamila Mustafa lives by.
Hailing from the city of Wilmington Delaware, Jamila is the definition of a hustler!
Jamila started out as a child actor and entertainer, by participating in martial arts, dance, national commercials and multiple pageant crowns such as Miss Delaware State University.
No stranger to hard work, Jamila’s wasted no time bursting on to the scene in late 2015 helping pioneer one of BET Digitals’ most successful programs “BET BREAKS.”
Not only did she serve as a lead reporter, but Jamila also uniquely crafted over four thousand stories which solidified her name as someone to watch in the entertainment industry.
Jamila is currently the Co-host of MTV’s “TRL Top 10” airing Saturdays at 10 am on MTV Networks with legendary hip-hop personality, Sway Calloway.
The legendary show, which originally aired from 1998 to 2008 with Carson Daly, is now back and fans have fallen head over heels with Jamila’s infectious personality.
The blessings this year haven’t stopped there for Jamila, as she has had several viral moments, including a dance battle with Ciara.
Recently, Jamila slayed the red carpet at the 2019 VMAs, being named as one of the evenings best dressed. And she was honored by Hennessy during their V.S.O.P Privilege Toast in New Jersey.
While many in the world are just getting to know Jamila Mustafa, those from her hometown of Delaware know her path to greatness started early.
One of her first television gigs came at just 12-years-old, when she hosted the “Philadelphia Eagles Kids Club,” a children’s show that aired on FOX WTXF-TV.
On the show, a young Jamila interviewed former Eagles tight end L.J. Smith who was so impressed that he called her the next Oprah Winfrey.
And, the name stuck over the years, as she would continue to be called “Little Oprah” by her friends watching her career develop.
Although the title has faded, the accuracy of their comparison has only grown stronger, and begs to ask the question..is Jamila Mustafa the Oprah of our generation?
Even at 26, Jamila is right on Ms. Winfrey’s heels in terms of early career accomplishments both on and off-screen.
Oprah and Jamila are both advocates for social activism and community service. Oprah has been known for her work as a philanthropist within the last 12 years through The Oprah Winfrey Foundation and other endeavors.
Jamila, on the other hand, spent a great deal of her childhood being active in the community. Whether she was winning one of Wilmington’s most prestigious honors or receiving recognitions from the Mayor, the City Council president or former Vice President Joe Biden, Jamila was taught to also use her gift to inspire and never forget to give back.
There is no question Oprah’s legacy is unmatched. But there’s a new star on the rise who has the potential to usher us into a new era of entertainment.
Don’t be surprised if you see The Jamila Mustafa Show in 2020.
Whether Jamila is debating who had the best year in music on iHeartRadio or interviewing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for BET Networks, one thing is certain, Oprah’s legacy is solidified, but Jamila Mustafa is just getting started.
If you think the Oprah comparison is just hype, peep the chart below and decide for yourself.
“It was not meant to be insensitive,” she added, noting that she had biracial children.
While Jay-Z, the NFL or Roc Nation has yet to comment on the matter, the flub out of the gate has raised questions as to how effective the partnership will be.
Some fans roasted Roc Nation and the NFL for not having a better vetting process, while others still defended the partnership, including a young man named Kobe Richardson, who credited the Crushers Club with saving his life.
(AllHipHop News) Logic has married his partner Brittney Noell.
In July, it was reported the couple had obtained a marriage license, giving them 90 days to tie the knot.
And while speaking to reporters from TMZ outside Catch LA seafood restaurant in Hollywood on Thursday, the “1-800-273-8255” hitmaker, real name Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, confirmed the pair had wed.
The star left the venue carrying a chessboard and, when asked why he was holding the unusual accessory, he responded: “I brought the board. Me and my wife, we were playing today.”
When the reporters asked, “Your wife?” the star looked coy, seemingly confirming the news.
Logic, 29, and Brittney met in early 2018 and went public with their relationship that April when he flew her on a private jet to a show in Las Vegas.
However, the pair have kept their relationship largely private.

(AllHipHop News) Today, September 7, marks the 23rd anniversary of the shooting of rap legend Tupac Shakur.
Pac was a multi-faceted artist who sold millions of copies of hit albums like Me Against The World, All Eyez On Me and The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory.
Tupac Shakur was also becoming an accomplished actor before his untimely death, having landed feature roles in flicks like “Above The Rim,” “Juice” and “Poetic Justice” starring opposite of Janet Jackson.
The rapper explained how his desire to become an entertainer came about.
“I did a play at the Apollo theater for Jesse Jackson when he was running for president. It was his campaign,” Tupac Shakur explained during an interview on July 16, 1993.
“At the time. It just seemed like the fun thing to do because I was 13. But I caught the bug when I got up on stage and all those people was clapping, so that’s when I got it. But really I just enjoy expressing myself. Anytime I can express myself, I can let some of the pain go from a childhood like mine,” Tupac Shakur said.
Three years later, Tupac was shot on The Strip in Las Vegas after he attended the Mike Tyson Vs. Bruce Seldon fight.
“As they got out I had my gun drawn, so I told them all to get down and stay back. They all looked edgy, and I was concerned that may be a threat or could even just run away,” Officer Carroll explained.
That’s when Officer Carroll noticed Tupac had been seriously wounded by gunfire.
“Then in the BMW through the passenger window I saw a silhouette of a guy, who was not moving,” he revealed.
Later on at the hospital, Officer Carroll said he tried to get a statement from Tupac, whose last words were “f##k you.”
Tupac lost consciousness and eventually died on September 13.
Pac’s murder remains unsolved to this day and there are still many conspiracy theories surrounding his assassination.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Let us put this in perspective. Some are going to say I am caping for Dr. Dre and maybe I am. But I am going to say it anyway. First of all, if you know the state of Death Row in the 90’s, it is very clear that Dr. Dre was under the gun and thumb of one Suge Knight. Remember, Snoop’s album dropped after a lot of beef and violence with Ruthless Records and Eazy-E and also after The Chronic (Dre’s first album) had hit the streets hard. Now, if you look closely Dr. Dre only truly did TWO full albums on Death Row Records – these two!
So, this brother Emmanuel Dean was an in-house producer/ keyboardist for Death Row and his credentials are authentic. So, before I continue, read this:
Well, he’s telling the full truth.
I think Dr. Dre was under duress to such a degree that he was unable to do anything for this brother. And he admitted to Brother Dean that he put in that work but never got the credit. I honestly look at that as a sign of the times – 1991! You know how many people were getting screwed and jerked in ’91? EVERYBODY! And Death Row was one of the most corrupt, empowered organizations ever and they were infused with energy by Interscope Records. Dre would depart Death Row soon after this to start another label and great success!
Anyway, there is a sad side to this story that I realized as I was writing this. Brother Emmanuel Dean passed away this year! I am not saying he wasn’t done wrong. I am saying he was an unfortunate symbol of a period in time when people were getting “raped” left and right with “no Vaseline” to quote Ice Cube.
The first recipient of a $50K grant went to East Liberty’s Hope Academy of Music and the Arts, who plans to use the money to expand their Suzuki music program.
It’s not every day you get a co-sign from Flo Rida. Insert LV, who you may recognize from her IG handle @lvtheartist.
At age 19, LV decided to dedicate her whole life to the music. In writing and recording her own songs, she quickly gained a following and created a buzz, especially back home in Phoenix.
However, Miami’s culture and laidback vibe got a hold of her and she hasn’t looked back since.
Most recently, LV unleashed the official music video for her single “I Got You,” bringing fans into her world in Florida and all the state has to offer.
The single hails from her debut EP XCITED, her mood for life.
AllHipHop: Talk about your relationship with Flo Rida. How did he find you?
LV: I started recording at his studio for 4 or 5 months before I ever even met him. I was working with some of his producers, some of his people. He was actually out here in California shooting a video to his single with E-40 and Sage. I flew out here to meet him, he’s on the road like 365 days a year damn near. His people had initiated some interest of wanting to make a deal, they’re like “we want you to meet Flo. We want him to see you in person, catch a vibe and hear your music.”
We ended up flying out here to meet him, we partied. I don’t remember where we partied, but we had such a great time. I flew back the next day and kept working for another 4 or 5 months, then we ended up doing a deal. I immediately went on the road with Flo for a little while, but I wanted to make sure I didn’t take away from my authenticity and losing my identity. Making sure I was creating my songs and performing my own shows before I was just performing on his shows. He gave me a lot of really big opportunities to perform at the Orange Bowl and a lot of these big half-time shows with Miami Heat and the Dolphins, so it’s been great.
AllHipHop: Best piece of advice he’s given you?
LV: One that I actually really hate, he always tells me to be patient and that’s really hard for me. Because as all artists, we want everything right now. We want everything to happen quicker and faster. He’s always reiterated “you’re a star, you have everything it takes. You just have to be patient, your time will come. It’s coming, just be patient.” That’s the best and the worst because it’s something I don’t want to hear, but I need to hear it. He’s very adamant about that.
AllHipHop: What are some goals yourself as an artist at this point of your career?
LV: Definitely broadening my fanbase. I want to reach as many people as possible because everyone that has taken the time to hear my music, has really loved it. Maybe they just wouldn’t tell me to my face, but I haven’t ever had an experience where someone’s been like “oh she’s wack.” It’s about getting out there more. Like this, having more opportunities to get heard and get my name out there. That’s a goal within itself just reaching more and more and more people. Of course, I want to see it all the way to the top. I want to be traveling the whole world. That’s my ultimate goal, to reach the world.
AllHipHop: Who’s the most played artist on your phone?
LV: Probably Tory Lanez. He has a song called “For Me.” “I do that for me, roll up, get lit. I do that for me.” That’s my s##t.
AllHipHop: Dream collab?
LV: Definitely Beyonce because she’s just the all-over idol. Her or I’d probably go crazy to get Drake on a record. Chris Brown.
AllHipHop: Why should people check for you?
LV: Because I’m dope. [laughs] I’m actually authentic. I write all my own stuff. I’ve actually been doing music for quite a while, it’s not like I just popped up out of nowhere. People will really relate to my words and my music. There’s something for everybody. It’s not just one genre, not just one topic, it’s all feelings, all genres combined. There’s something for everybody to love.
AllHipHop: Anything you want to let us know?
LV: Just follow me on social media @lvtheartist. Reach out to me. I reply to everybody, even DMs. I really take the time to go through all my DMs. Anyone who wants to collaborate, if it makes sense. If I think you’re dope, I’m always down to collab and work with new artists.
But just a few years ago, she almost turned her back on music, telling Elle, “I just felt like I was throwing music into the world and not even making a splash. A tree was falling in the forest and not making a sound, you know? I was crying in my room all day. I said, ‘If I stop making music now, nobody would f##king care’.”
She credits an unnamed producer for giving her a pep talk that encouraged her to keep going when she had hit rock bottom: “So I just made the decision to keep going as an artist, and I’m so grateful I did, but it was by the skin of my teeth,” she admitted.
And she was given another boost when she got the chance to work with Prince on his 2014 song “Boy Trouble” with her Chalice bandmate Sophia Eris.
“I miss those days,” she shares. “Not just when Prince was physically with us, but how it felt to be young and excited about music, and life, and not knowing what was next, and not having money but manifesting our dreams. There’s a spirit of adventure that I took away from that – to never let life and music not feel adventurous, and to always push yourself and believe in the magic you’re creating.”
