Migos Discuss Economically Disadvantaged Communities Being Hit Hard By COVID-19

(AllHipHop News) Some detractors may view Migos as just a group of Trap rappers from Atlanta that glorify wealth. However, the trio not only delivers chart-topping tunes, but they have also been associated with ongoing charity work and community support.

Additionally, the Migos members are now addressing the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on communities of color and economically disadvantaged individuals. Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff appeared on Vice TV’s Shelter in Place with Shane Smith interview series, and the Quality Control signees were asked about the impact of coronavirus.

“You know we got all this paper and we’re ‘successful’ and still family members in our family do not have or qualify for health insurance or they can’t get it,” said Offset. “And they’re already 50-years-old and already have a health issue that they have been dealing with for 10 years. It’s like, when you don’t have the resources and the funds, you’re just out of luck.”

The Father of 4 album creator continued, “That’s just what it is in real life. There’s not a lot of resources, a lot of folks don’t have money. I know so many people in my family and my friends’ family that don’t have health insurance. I try to pay upfront and that still don’t work. You have to go through different processes and you still might not be eligible for this one thing but you’re eligible for this other thing. And it leaves them to suffer or try to have a chance at survival that is so small.”

According to health studies, African-Americans make up more than half of all COVID-19 cases in the country and nearly 60% of deaths from the disease. Yet, African-Americans only represent about 13% of the American population.

Early data also showed that low-income neighborhoods in New York City – which is often referred to as the country’s epicenter of the pandemic – have been hit much harder by coronavirus than wealthy neighborhoods. Many of the hospitalizations in NYC were concentrated in the boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. While upper-class areas of Manhattan experience fewer cases.

During the conversation with Vice TV, Quavo spoke about his personal experiences of relatives choosing not to seek medical help in order to avoid burdening loved ones. The 29-year-old “I’m the One” performer shared how he lost his grandmother to cancer.

“Our culture, we become doctors ourselves. It’s like our culture really barely go to the doctor. That’s why sometimes you get the results that we get because we wait until it gets super-super-super-duper serious,” stated Quavo.

He added, “My grandmama actually passed to cancer like four years back just because of the fact that she didn’t tell us and did not want to scare us and put that fear in our heart that we were kind of losing her. And really we could have gotten her the best help in the world. And so it’s just it’s like that’s what we do. It’s a thing we do. It’s a thing we grew up on and it’s kind of like built into our bodies. And that’s just the way it is.”

Stephen Jackson, Tamika Mallory & More To Participate In Minneapolis Rally Seeking Justice For George Floyd

(AllHipHop News) People across the world are mourning George Floyd, the 46-year-old Black man that died after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin pinned his knee into Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes. Many citizens, activists, and celebrities have expressed their heartbreak – and in some cases their anger – over the death of yet another unarmed African-American at the hands of law enforcement.

Former San Antonio Spurs player Stephen Jackson was especially troubled by what appeared to be the on-camera murder of George Floyd on May 25. Jackson met Floyd years ago while they were both growing up in Texas. The NBA champion posted a video to Instagram where he spoke about Floyd’s death.

“Everybody knows me and Floyd called each other ‘twin.’ My brother was out there in Minnesota, he was changing his life. He went to Minnesota. He was driving trucks,” said Jackson on IG. “My boy was doing what he’s supposed to do. Y’all gonna kill my brother. I’m on my way to Minnesota. Whatever I can do, can’t let this ride.”

As part of his actions to hold Chauvin and the other officers involved accountable, Jackson is teaming with social justice advocate Tamika Mallory to hold a peaceful community press conference today (May 29). Oscar and Grammy winner Jamie Foxx is also taking part in the call for justice at Minneapolis’ City Hall Rotunda.

A public rally is also scheduled for 1 pm CT at the Government Center Plaza in Minneapolis. Organizers are demanding that prosecutors charge all four law enforcement officers – Derek Chauvin, Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J. Alexander Kueng – with the murder of George Floyd.

Families Of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery & George Floyd Issue Joint Statement On Demanding Police Accountability

(AllHipHop News) The nation is currently dealing with the fallout from several high-profile cases of African-Americans being killed at the hands of police officers or ex-police officers. Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and George Floyd all, unfortunately, became hashtags in the last four months.

The families of Taylor, Arbery, and Floyd have united to call for a congressional hearing and a national task force to craft new bipartisan legislation centered on ending racial violence and increasing police accountability. They also released a joint statement.

“We’re devastated about the senseless violence that has broken the hearts of our families,” reads the families’ statement. “While we are grateful for the outpouring of love and support, it’s important that now – more than ever – we use our voices to enact change, demand accountability within our justice system and keep the legacies of Breonna, Ahmaud, and George alive. This is a national crisis and our government needs to take immediate and widespread action to protect our black and brown communities.”

Additionally, the families are declaring a state of emergency. They plan to create a task force designed to organize national sanctions – such as rolling boycotts, travel embargoes, and corporate withdrawal – in the areas where the homicides occurred.

Plus, the families plan to present and amplify legislation designed to reduce police violence and increase accountability. They will also present a case to the United Nation Human Rights Committee, calling for sweeping changes to America’s criminal justice system.

Civil Rights attorneys Lee Merritt and Benjamin L. Crump are representing all three families. A virtual press conference will be held on Friday, May 29, at 11 am ET/10 am CT on Facebook.com/TeamRoc. CNN commentator/criminal justice reform activist Van Jones will be moderating the conference.

Breonna Taylor, 26, was shot eight times inside her own Louisville, Kentucky home on March 13 when law enforcement served a “no-knock warrant” in the wrong apartment. Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, faced criminal charges for firing at and injuring a cop even though he was unaware that the people entering his residence were police officers. Commonwealth’s Attorney Tom Wine eventually dismissed all charges against Walker.

On February 23, 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery was killed in Glynn County, Georgia while jogging. He was fatally shot by two white men, one of which was a former police officer. Gregory McMichael and his son Travis McMichael were charged with murder over two months later because of overwhelming pressure following footage of the killing being released to the public. William “Roddie” Bryan, the man who recorded the shooting of Arbery, was also charged with felony murder.

George Floyd appeared to die on camera as white Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin purposely pressed his knee into Floyd’s neck for almost 9 minutes as the 46-year-old man was handcuffed on the ground. The four officers involved in the attempted arrest on May 25 were fired, but demonstrations broke out in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area as protestors demand Chauvin, Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J. Alexander Kueng are arrested and charged with murder.

Cardi B & Tomi Lahren Clash Online Over Looting Taking Place In Minneapolis

(AllHipHop News) On May 27, Cardi B tweeted, “They looting in Minnesota and as much as I don’t like this type of violence it is what it is. Too much peaceful marches, too much trending hashtags and NO SOLUTIONS! The people are left with NO CHOICE.”

The NYC-bred rapper’s tweet was addressing the citizens taking to the streets in Minneapolis in response to George Floyd being killed by a local police officer. The 46-year-old Black man died after now-fired police officer Derek Chauvin held his knee on the neck of a prone, handcuffed Floyd for at least seven minutes.

Conservative political commentator Tomi Lahren had a different opinion about the uprising in Minnesota. She tweeted, “How does looting, rioting and destroying your OWN community bring justice for anyone?”

Cardi then fired back, “How does targeting, profiling, beating and murdering black men with no consequence equal serving and protecting? Who’s giving them justice and trust on cops? Mind your business and eat your salad!”

This is not the first time the Grammy winner and the Donald Trump supporter clashed online. Cardi added the phrase “dog walk” to the political vernacular when she clapped back at Lahren in 2019 for attacking her support of Democratic candidates.

In addition, Cardi B uploaded a 2:20-minute video to Twitter on Friday in order to further explain her thoughts on the looting in Minneapolis. The clip included the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker discussing the numerous police killings of African-Americans in the social media era.

“Let’s say since Instagram started. How many peaceful protests have we seen? How many trending hashtags have we seen? These hashtags keep repeating themselves,” said Cardi.

She added, “People are tired. They’re tired of showing that motherf*ckers are educated, motherf*ckers could take the grown and adult way and act peaceful. People are tired of that. So now this is what people have to resort to.”

T.I. Calls For People Of Color To Take Part In #BlackOutDay2020 To Protest Oppression

(AllHipHop News) The killing of George Floyd while in police custody has led to demonstrations across the country. For the third night, protesters took to the streets in Minneapolis to demand that prosecutors charge the four officers involved in Floyd’s death.

Tip “T.I.” Harris is promoting a different method to promote the need for systemic change in America. The rapper/entrepreneur went on Instagram to ask his followers to take part in a national boycott.

“Nobody spend SH*T on this day‼️ IF you Give AF about the murders, lynchings, & oppression of people of color!!! #USorELSE✊ #BlackoutDay2020 #July7th,” wrote T.I. in an IG caption.

George Floyd, a 46-year-old African-American man, died after Caucasian police officer Derek Chauvin held his knee on Floyd’s neck for over seven minutes. Floyd was handcuffed and laying on the ground at the time. The incident was captured on video.

Anger in Minneapolis spiked again overnight following Hennepin County Attorney Michael Freeman’s statement at an afternoon press conference. Freeman told the public, “There is other evidence that does not support a criminal charge.”

Did The Cops Start The Fires & Riots In Minneapolis?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Lets get it popping!!!!!! Look at this.

AND now look at this:

According to a number of online reports, the person in this video is a police officer in the St.Paul Police Department, not too far from the uprising in Minneapolis. Jacob Pederson is that alleged cop. Sources say the St.Paul Police Department po-po has already been identified by his ex-wife. One report by Progressive 2020 says. “In video Pederson started smashing windows and kick-started the riot in South Minneapolis. After being confronted by people, he fled the scene. This is a very common tactic. He had the umbrella to prevent aerial ID and everything. This definitely was not a protestor. Calmly shows up with a hammer, smashes windows, and then walks away.” We know there are agents and plants among us on every single LEVEL.

By the way, there is a difference between rioting and protests.

I leave you with that…for now.

Freddie Gibbs And The Alchemist Return With New Collab “Alfredo”

(AllHipHop News) Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist dropped a bomb on the people today.

The two, both at the top of their respective art forms, have surprised fans with a joint project entitled, Alfredo. Available, Friday, May 29th, the ten-track album will include features by Tyler, The Creator,

Rick Ross, Benny, The Butcher, and Conway The Machine.

The tracklisting is impressive:

1. 1985

2. God Is Perfect

3. Scottie Beam ft. Rick Ross

4. Look At Me

5. Frank Lucas ft. Benny The Butcher

6. Something To Rap ft. Tyler, The Creator

7. Baby $hit

8. Babies & Fools ft. Conway The Machine

9. Skinny Suge

10. All Glass

This is kinda a thing for Gibbs, as he has been making magic with various producers for a minute.

Last year, he and producer Madlib, put out Bandana, which received critical acclaim and was arguably one of the top Hip-Hop albums of the year. The Madlib collab spawned the Bandana Instrumentals album and an epic NPR Tiny Desk performance.

But if you think only Gibbs was cooking last year, you are clearly not up on how relevant the Mobb Deep affiliate, Alchemist is.

In 2019, he released his own compilation album Yacht Rock 2, the fifth installment of his Rapper’s Best Friend instrumental series, collaborations with Action Bronson called “Lamb Over Rice” Boldy James called “The Price of Tea in China” and an EP with Conway The Machine called

“LULU.”

While fans have to wait for tomorrow to get hear Alfredo, they can check the lead single, “1985” now. The video is directed by Nick Walker with creative direction coming from Ben “Lambo” Lambert.

Alfredo is the second time the dynamic duo linked. In 2018, they connected with Curren$y and dropped the magical tape called Fetti, which basically reminded people that dopeness does not have an expiration date.

Gibbs and Al are also launching the Alfredo store today with bundles including exclusive merch, a comic book, CD, and vinyl. Check out their shop, Alfredo Restaurant. An exclusive listening party on Instagram live is going down at midnight (EST).

SYIGU Terminus 3 Card Creates Classic Clash Between Killadelph’s Shiest Raw and the Queen of Queens, C3

SYIGU said to their fans that while “the world may be on hold … battle rap is not.

And with that notion, and in collaboration with Step Your Ink Game Up Battle League, Number One Contender, Torture Chamber, and Push Ya Pen Battle League, they presented the Terminus 3 online card.

The co-ed competition featured Qleen Paper vs. Readie Roc, Prez Mafia vs. Vizz Da Outlaw, A1 vs. King Sess, ESZ vs. Cash Sinatra, Nate Will and Kaz. The headling act was C3 and Shiest Raw.

There is a level of cacophony that constitutes the canniness of C3’s lyrical ability. She can be callous in her verbal dexterity. She demonstrates a high caliber of captious carnality when she goes after her opponent. Categorically, she is caustic when she castigates whoever the contender is, and on this card, Shiest Raw had the displeasure of getting a calculated Ceillise Craig with four minutes of fire.

C3 was on in this quarantine battle, filmed in her kitchen. But she might as well been in COVID-infested wet market with how nasty she was getting.

And while C3 carried the battle with her star power and creativity … Shiest Raw aimed to make the most of this look — hoping to get on the radar of battle rap enthusiasts on the international level of fandom that C3 attracts.

Hypersexual and big-b####-ed, Raw was just that.

She was uncut and seeking to solidify a secure spot in the lexicon of female battle rap. The question of the night was could she outbar C3? Well … how about this she went in there trying to, fighting like an alley cat for her respect.

She was cut raw like some white and folk with eyes could see her rawness in how she played with those words. She constructed really clever punches like Dice Raw, a Philly legend. And lastly … you know Big Daddy Kane’s#### song, “R.A.W.” from back in the day? Remember how it punched you in the face when you would hear it at a jam on really dope speakers? Like at the very beginning of the Bobby Byrd’s “Hot Pants” sampled track, how it made your blood boil? She has that type of intensity.

She spat some fire s##t … but her timing in certain parts gave glimpses of her lack of seasoning.

Despite that, she had some cool tricks involving tag teams that would have played out better … well the first one … the second one with the little girl might have been too much since the content was so mature and in some people’s minds inappropriate for the space. But her name was “Raw” what did you expect? Someone with the aggression and ambition worth of the legacy of the moniker.

This display of excellence reminds the battle rap community that chicks spit just as hard as dudes … and beautifully doing it in a way that is purely feminine and competitive. While C3 won the battle, the pair together dismantled the cloud around women rappers that submits a fog that they don’t write their raps and if they do the raps are inferior to their male counterparts. #Mythbusters

Can’t wait to see what else these producers have to offer in the future.

Tekashi 6ix9ine Pushes Video Back In Dog Kissing Announcement

(AllHipHop News) Tekashi 6ix9ine has promised his fans that he would drop a new video for his song, “Trollz,” this Friday, May 29th.

However, the Brooklyn rapper took to his Instagram to tell the world that he has to push it back because it simply will “not be ready.” While he is sharing the bad news, he allows his supporters to see just how close he is with his dog, that he calls “papi” in his clip.

The new date for the anticipated release will be June 5th and he promises, with a myriad of colorful emojis that this will the last time he switches up, and not stand on his word.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CAtGiMhnOpJ

Simply he captions his video, “IM SORRRRRRRYYYYYY TROLLZ JUNE 5TH NO MORE CHANGING I PROMISE ‼️ ❤️ ”

While the “GOOBA” rapper is the master of fake outs, he seems sincere in his remarks. Instead of a video, he is offering his fans one of his epic Instalive sessions, where he is sure to say something newsworthy.

Fans might be upset about the song, others are confused about how he gonna let the dog kiss his mouth, looking like they were sharing candy. Is he not worried about getting sick?

According to Pets WebMD, it is not ok to let a dog kiss you in the face if you care about the little bugs that they may have in their mouth from all the places they be licking and eating.

But to be fair, both human and dog mouths have a large number and a wide variety of bacteria. Another yuck factor, the site contends, is the number of parasites that your canine buddy might be carrying around and passing on to you: like the hookworm, roundworm, or giardia. These all can be passed from dog to human through licking.

Tekashi, who is on in-house incarceration, got early release because he was afraid of catching the coronavirus. However, he doesn’t seem to care about catching the cooties from his pooch.

Either way, you have to love a dog lover and we are sure folk are waiting with bated breath to see this video.

RonSoCold Puts On For The Underdogs

RonSoCold is about to be a problem in the rap game. Hailing from North Carolina and a part of the Lyrical Lemonade family, the 24-year-old’s moniker itself speaks volumes to his talents.

Coming up on SoundCloud and accumulating an organic fanbase, Ron is deemed the “melodic giant.” His ability to both rap and sing stands out amongst his peers, creating his own lane with his own stories and style.

Boasting 51.9K followers on Instagram alone, RonSoCold recently unleashed his self-titled debut album home to standout single “Grandma.” The record not only pays tribute to his grandmother, but also sees him reflecting on his own journey overcoming battles to get to where he is now.

When describing himself, Ron states, “If you don’t know me, listen to my music and you’re going to learn. If you feel you’ve been counted out in anything you’re doing in life — it doesn’t even have to be music, with anything — if you feel like you’re an underdog, then that’s RonSoCold.”

Ron recently went on tour to open for Lil Tecca, which gained him new fans effortlessly. AllHipHop caught up with RonSoCold via Instagram Live to discuss the release of his debut project, how he got his name, his Top 5, and more!

AllHipHop: How are you holding up in quarantine?

RonSoCold: I’m in North Carolina. People have been out. Even when that s##t first got announced, people been out here. We don’t have a lot of cases here. I’ve been good, just working. Staying locked in.

AllHipHop: When did you pick up the name RonSoCold?

RonSoCold: Early 2016, but I wasn’t rapping when I made the name. I used to do hosting at the clubs and parties, I was messing with this girl and she hurt my feelings. My name used to be RonthePresident on Instagram, then I changed it to RonSoCold when I started making music.

AllHipHop: You let a girl hurt you that bad?

RonSoCold: I did. s##t, it happens. I was tweaking. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Biggest influences growing up?

RonSoCold: Growing up, it was Lil Wayne. Both MJ’s: Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan. And Chief Keef.

AllHipHop: What do you do in your free time?

RonSoCold: S##t, game. That’s really it. I love to game. I’m big on video games.

AllHipHop: Your IG bio SAYS RONNIE 2K.

RonSoCold: Yeah, the n**ga who does the NBA 2K game. Honestly, I said his name in a song. I said “I’m balling like Ronnie 2K,” and I’m RonSoCold. It was a bar.

AllHipHop: When did music become real for you?

RonSoCold: Honestly, 2017. The ending of 2016, I dropped a song on my SoundCloud called “Motorola.” It’s not on there anymore. It did really good, I got a lot of good feedback on it. I thought “s##t, I can do this if I put my all into it.” I’ve been rapping for 3 years.

AllHipHop: How’d you find your way to the Lyrical Lemonade family?

RonSoCold: Through my bro Jake, I met him in a group chat. He used to run a podcast back in the day called Chicago Sleepers. He invited me to the podcast, I flew out to Chicago. I freestyled, they uploaded it on Twitter and it went viral. We stayed in contact. We all got close, they’re all my family now.

AllHipHop: What’s your relationship with Cole?

RonSoCold: That’s my brother. He texted me today and told me how proud he was of me.

AllHipHop: Congrats on releasing your self-titled debut! How are you feeling?

RonSoCold: Thank you, it’s my first album. That s##t’s overwhelming. I’ve never gotten this much love, that s##t feels crazy.

AllHipHop: How was the process for you?

RonSoCold: I used to be signed to this one label called Alamo. I did a small project with them, but they let me go. When someone lets you go — anything in life, you get dropped from a football team or baseball team, you have to start over. It’s rebuilding. I was talking to my bro Richie, not going to lie that s##t had me sad. I’m like “damn, I didn’t even get a chance.” He said “bro, don’t even look at it as a bad thing, it’s time to start working. Time to start grinding.” So that’s what I did. I put the time in, I was recording heavy. I went on a tour with Lil Tecca.

AllHipHop: What was it like to see Lil Tecca do his thing? His career went from 0 to 100.

RonSoCold: That s##t was fire, that’s my brother. I wouldn’t say I was early on his music, but I seen him. I seen the progress. Being on tour with him and seeing all the people he’s performing to, that s##t’s crazy.

AllHipHop: What did you learn from that experience?

RonSoCold: Him taking me on that tour, it showed me I’m really in this s##t. Think about it, he’s a big ass artist bro. For me to be on the tour with him and my name getting out there, that s##t’s crazy. Not everybody in the crowd knows me, like “who is this guy? He’s fire.” Every night, every show, my set went up. You would’ve thought I was actually headlining that b##ch with him. After that tour, that’s when I came back and I was ready to drop. It’s time.

AllHipHop: Have you guys tapped in in the lab?

RonSoCold: We have a song, it hasn’t come out yet though. I was talking to him the night my album came out, we’re going to put some work in. He’s in New York. I can’t go out there right now because of the Coronavirus, but I’m going to lock in with him.

AllHipHop: I love your record “Grandma.” Bring us back to that studio session.

RonSoCold: Thank you, that’s one of my favorite ones. That’s a special song. “Grandma,” it’s crazy because I had that melody in my head all day. I kept saying “I’m a star, grandma,” all day. I don’t write any of my songs. I’m not saying that to flex, I freestyle every song. It’s all about a vibe. I was in the booth, I had already been saying that s##t all day. “I’m a star, grandma, everybody love your grandson.” Everything else came, I’m having flashbacks in the song. If you listen to it, everything’s real life s##t. I was in high school, my mom wasn’t having a lot. I used to have to go to the mall to steal t-shirts from PacSun, that s##t was so easy. “When I ain’t had no racks, I was stealing s##t out of PacSun. Now I drip for days.” Now my life is a lot better than it used to be. I don’t have to do that anymore.

AllHipHop: I was going to ask, what was Ron like then?

RonSoCold: Man, it was crazy. Me growing up, I wasn’t a bad kid but I got in trouble. My mom… I got kicked out my 10th grade year. It used to stay in Charlotte. I’m born and raised there, but my mom sent to Roanoke, Virginia. It’s a small ass city. I stayed there till my senior year. That s##t was fire, it definitely helped my life., but I didn’t want to do that. I had it just like any other kid growing up. Making it work, coming from the bottom. I really came from the bottom, not having s##t. Some days, you don’t know what you’re about to do.

AllHipHop: Did you think you would be where you are now?

RonSoCold: I honestly was talking to my girlfriend last night, telling her “I’m not where I want to be right now, but you can definitely see I’m headed there.” s##t’s crazy to me. When I graduated, I didn’t know what I was supposed to do. My mom wanted me to go to the damn military. I had no clue my life would be what it is today.

AllHipHop: Are you living in the moment?

RonSoCold: Yeah, that’s the type of person I am. I’m thankful and I’m grateful for everything, I live in the moment for real.

AllHipHop: What’s the significance in the black & white cover art with the hood on?

RonSoCold: The cover art, I came up with the idea. My bros helped me bring it to life. A lot of people don’t know that’s not me as a kid. That’s one of my bro’s little brother. We shot that s##t in my bro’s office space, it was no budget. It’s the same hoodie I was wearing, it came out so fire. It looks so good.

AllHipHop: Why’d you have him on the cover art?

RonSoCold: He resembles me. Not a lot, but it looks like me as a kid. It gave me the vibe for how I wanted my s##t to look honestly.

AllHipHop: Why 15 songs?

RonSoCold: Honestly, I got so many songs. I recorded so many songs leading up to this album that I wanted to pick the best 15 to me. I got my bro Richie Souf on a lot of songs on there. He did 6 off the album.

AllHipHop: What’s your relationship with Richie?

RonSoCold: That’s one of my close friends, I consider him one of my best friends. Not even in the industry, but in real life outside of music. 10 years from now, he’ll still be my bro. He’s signed to Future.

AllHipHop: What songs mean the most to you on the project and why?

RonSoCold: The intro ”Grandma,” the outro “Takeoff.” Really the whole tape. “Takeoff,” you have to really listen to it. All the songs really talk to you. “Takeoff,” I say “I’m a boss, you a b##ch, that’s your daddy’s fault.” Because I’m a boss. If someone’s hating on me, they’re a b##ch and it’s their daddy’s fault for raising them that way. Your daddy really raised you to be a hating ass n*gga, that’s your daddy’s fault.

AllHipHop: Who’s your Top 5 in rotation?

RonSoCold: Thug, Durk, Gunna. I like YoungBoy too. I like all my partners, it’s way too many to name. I like all my friends. I’ma go with those 4.

AllHipHop: How big is your circle?

RonSoCold: It’s big, but everybody in my circle I’ve been knowing. I’m not saying I’m not open to having new friends but everyone that I’m really close to, I’ve been knowing.

AllHipHop: How’s the attention been since you have been getting bigger?

RonSoCold: I’m definitely f##king with it. For anybody who’s watching this, as you progress through life with anything, some s##t gets weirder and weirder with friends. Some people be expecting s##t. s##t can get weird but it’s all about how strong you are mentally., that’s going to be how you handle it. I don’t really fold under pressure, but s##t can get weird really.

AllHipHop: What’s your favorite Thugger song?

RonSoCold: That’s so hard for one song. I don’t even think I can pick one. Not even on some hypebeast s##t, his last project was crazy. I like “Die Today,” that s##t’s fire as hell. He has a crazy ass song with Juice WRLD. It’s not out yet, but they shot a video for it. That may be one of my favorite Thugger songs.

AllHipHop: What are your face tattoos?

RonSoCold: This is my mom’s name. I got a skull here, I got some Asian letters right here. It says “forever alone,” it’s been so long since I got it. I got this in Chicago.

AllHipHop: Was this after the break up?

RonSoCold: [laughs] Nah, that’s just how I was feeling. Not even on some sad s##t, it’s more of a “I’ma get it on my own” before I ever ask someone.

AllHipHop: How did mama feel about the face tat?

RonSoCold: She honestly cried. She didn’t tweak on me. As I started getting more, she’s like “alright you gotta calm down.” It’s more of a motivational thing for me when I started getting face tats, like “boy you’re really going to have to really grind, because you’re never going to be able to go back and get a regular job.” On God.

AllHipHop: What did you do with your first advance?

RonSoCold: Honestly, I went and bought everything that I couldn’t buy before. Clothes, shoes, s##t that don’t really mean nothing now. I’m a lot smarter with money now. But think about it, being a kid not having s##t, you get all that money at once, you’re going to want to turn up. Boss up and go get some s##t. I love Chanel.

AllHipHop: Being only 25, what are some goals for yourself?

RonSoCold: I want to keep growing, keep leveling up. I want to work with Future, I want to work with Thug. I want to work with so many artists, some of my idols for real. I want to keep putting out content for my supporters.

AllHipHop: What’s one thing fans might not know about you?

RonSoCold: I’m super chill, I’m down-to-earth. I’m easy to get along with. They probably thinking I’m a troll, because I do be trolling. I like trolling, I like laughing.

Rick Ross Claims Ex Keeping Kids From Him During Paternity War

(AllHipHop News) The world knows Rick Ross as the epitome of a boss (money, class, and style), but his recent custody case with his youngest children’s mother is making him not seem as fly as we thought …

What kind of dude doesn’t pay child support?

Now that the paternity test has come in and in the words of Maury Povich has declared, “Rick Ross, you are the father,” the Maybach Music Group mogul wants to see his boys, three-year-old Berkeley and two-year-old Billion.

However, his baby mama, Briana Camille, doesn’t seem enthusiastic about allowing Rosé to get his shorties.

How could she?

According to Camille, Ross, whose real name is William L. Roberts, had kicked her and her babies out of his Florida mansion last year.

In fact, she claims that the rapper has only recently started claiming the boys after a judge issued a DNA test and since has been primary physical caregiver thus far —so its gonna take time for her to yield custody.

The two are in a nasty custody war, where both of them are pulling out the big guns.

Camille, who is currently pregnant with the ex-couple’s third child, wants Ross to START paying child support for his children.

She notes that for all the flash and generosity he seems to portray as this hotshot industry ‘boss,’ he still hasn’t helped her out financially to the children in ‘months.’

The “Aston Martin Music” rapper has countersued, according to court documents, stating that the children’s mother has “erratic behaviors.”

“Defendant asserts that he will not be able to exercise parenting time with the minor children without the intervention of the court to ensure that parenting time is granted,” Ross said in the documents.

The judge in family court is reviewing the claims.

It is a shame that the courts will have to decide for these two how their family dynamics will have to play out. #NothingBossyThere

Rich The Kid Owes Six Figures For Destroying Mansion

(AllHipHop News) Rich The Kid is about to be a little over a quarter mil less rich if his Los Angeles landlord has their way.

Haikuhe Chichyan is the chairman of the trust that owns the property in the lush Hollywood Hills in Southern California.

Hidden away from prying paparazzi, the mansion was occupied by one of Hip-Hop’s most flamboyant stars, Rich The Kid. (Check his name)

Reports say that the Atlanta by way of Jamaica, Queens rapper was dropping about $22,500 a month in rent for the crib that he stopped paying almost a year and a half ago, December 2018.

What kind of spot would warrant those kinds of duckets?

According to Bossip, the estate is super luxurious.

At 5,600 square feet, the house has a view of both the Hollywood sign and downtown Hollywood. It also has a total of five bedrooms, six baths, a saltwater pool, sauna and spa, 20 foot high ceilings, and the décor fit for a king.

But the lawyers for the owners suggest that not only is he back on rent, that he didn’t know how to appreciate the champagne and bubbles fabulosity that he would have people believe is his everyday lifestyle.

You know … since he is a Wilhelmina model and is alleged to be valued between $2 million to $10 million dollars.

They said that the “Plug Walk” emcee and his people destroyed the spot by allowing his dogs to crap all over the hardwood floors, and urinate on the custom duvets.

Rich also loved to smoke weed in the crib, leaving blunt guts everywhere, even though he signed a contract where he acknowledged he would be living within an occupancy with a no-smoking policy.

It is also alleged he broke a bunch of stuff too.

Last week, an LA judge issued a default judgment against the rapper, and he and Chichyan’s lawyers will go back to court in July.

Chance The Rapper Calls Out Police, Mayor Responds

(AllHipHop News) Chance the Rapper is condemning Chicago, Illinois police officers for targeting black residents for hosting Memorial Day weekend parties amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The star took to Twitter to call out members of law enforcement in his hometown for ignoring gatherings in largely white neighborhoods, while reposting a video of cops breaking up a celebration over the weekend.

“Yo, I seen HUNDREDS of ppl (people) at Millennium Park and pics of even more at the parks on the north side,” he tweeted. “Outside, no masks, no social distancing, enjoying themselves. Please stop sending large groups of militarized police into our neighborhoods exclusively.”

The 27-year-old also tagged the city’s mayor Lori Lightfoot, who responded by saying the situation has been addressed by law enforcement officials.

“Regarding today’s large unpermitted gathering at Millennium Park: while we respect first amendment rights, this gathering posed an unacceptable health risk and was dispersed,” Lightfoot responded. “No matter where in the city you live, no one is exempt from Governor Pritzker’s stay-at-home order.”

Chance The Rapper’s tweet comes amid heightened police brutality issues and demonstrations across America following the death of an unarmed black man during an arrest in Minnesota on Monday.

The four white police officers involved in the arrest have been dismissed from the force.

The First Round of Ultimate Madness Did Not Disappoint

(AllHipHop News) The Ultimate Rap League’s new tournament Ultimate Madness reminds emcees that there are no friendships in competition and that taking someone’s head off should not be seen as a personal offense: It’s just business – $25,000 worth of work.

Jim Jones believes that Hip-Hop lacks competition and that competition is the blood flow that keeps the culture e####. Well, he didn’t say it like that.

What he said to AllHipHop.com’s CEO Chuck Creekmur was that there is a difference between “competition and beef.” You need to want to be the best and come to the table with that energy … even if you don’t have beef with another rapper.

DMX put that same energy forth when he dissed Lloyd Banks on Fatman Scoop’s IG the other day, to which Banks replied that the Dog was mad that he didn’t get into the studio with him.

And while you might be turned off by these references to legacy artists, there is something that new emcees need to digest, ‘else they are walking around here mad limp. They need to stop being so cool and get back to an element of battle culture that is innately in the DNA of true lyricists: they need to wanna knock the competition’s heads off their proverbial necks in a contest.

That’s where URL’s “Ultimate Madness” enters into the picture.

The tournament-style battle competition started last weekend with 16 emcees fighting to their death: Kid Chaos took on Lu Castro, Jey the Nightwing took on Real Sikh, Gun Powder Patt took on Ru Bando and Squeako took on Your Honor.

This class of emcees reminds you of those now top tier rappers who once demolished the stages of BET’s “106 & Park Ultimate Freestyle Friday” competitions. And the hosts, Jay Blac from Champion and Da Hennyman from Battle Rap Trap, are perfect replacements for Bow Wow in this season.

Emerging victorious and going over to the next round of competition are Lu Castro, Jey the Nightwing, Ru Bando, and Your Honor.

And their battles went as such:

The battle of the evening was the very first one. Jey the Nightwing and Real Sikh took off their gloves and went in for war. Both were bar heavy, causing the distinguished cast of judges to deadlock off the back. These two epitomized where battle rap needs to be for its survival. Unorthodox wordplay … Cultural diversity (and we are not talking about race but the content matter) … Intensity and stage present … not one soul was bored watching it.

If their battle was the best of the night, the runner up for the battle of the night had to be Kid Chaos and Lu Castro. Lu Castro was the victor, but it was not because his opponent was wack. It was just that tonight Lu was just better. He was universe-speeding better against someone who intergalactic-level brilliant.

The former Goonie demonstrated what he has been boasting repeatedly in interview-after-interview: HE AIN’T TO BE F##KED WITH. This was a perfect opportunity for him to step out of the shadow of some of the larger stars in his crew and assume his position in the spotlight and such passion and skill shone from both rappers yielded a contest worthy of re-watch and bask from its cultural glory. The battle really meant something special to those who love the art of battling.

We are glad to hear the rumor that Real Sikh and Kid Chaos might get a battle to keep them in the midst. They were truly exceptional and had they been paired differently, most certainly would be joining their opponents in the next leg of the competition.

Squeako and Your Honor was a good battle, with the Dot Mob member showcasing more than his humor and his Chocolate City street swag. He came to rap. He was clever in a way that we are not used to seeing him.

It will be interesting to see if he pushes through the next round with this new investment in his battle rap style. It is remarkable to see how this “star” uses his “it” factor to stunt on his opponent. It is like the hustler you know on the corner that has everyone listening to him spit stories about dodging the cops or bagging a girl … you simply can’t turn away. His challenger, Squeako, was cool but he choked (and that is that). And while he is interesting to listen to and watch rap, his southern-thugism matched with a clear lyrical competency lends to a space in battle rap that is just as hungry to be recognized and thrive as Outkast in the 1996 Source Awards.

The battle that everyone wanted to be strong was Gun Powder Patt and Ru Bando. The two, “We Go Hard” brothers, are normally fire (let’s just get that out the way). But on this card, they were not fully-baked. They were not seasoned enough to understand the dynamics of “empty space” and “quiet control” that was needed for these types of battles.

Lyrical devices like schemes and punches took too long, landed softly, and were hard to watch. Stunts seem ill-timed and unnecessary. However, this was a good learning lesson for both of them and those aspiring to hop on the next season. Folk have to come with “more of everything” to stand on the big stage with the likes of K-Shine, Tsu Surf, Geechi Gotti, Shotgun Suge, and Goodz. After all, that’s what this battle tournament is offering.

Ru Bando won, but not because he was a more superior rapper this day. He won because the dice fell in his favor.

The next bracket of the tournament is this Saturday, May 30th on Caffeine TV.

The contenders up for competition are Fonz vs. J Krooger, Eazy the Block Captain vs. Don Marino, Brooklyn Hanz vs. Big Hann, and Bad News vs. Ace Amin.

The judges, Slim Reda from Champion, Knowledge the god from Hip-Hop is real, Unkle Ra from 15 Minutes of Fame ad Tony Bro from Black Compass are sure to be just as difficult to impress as they last weekend. Unkle Ra keeps reiterating, “There is $25,000 on the line … there needs to be $25,000 type material.”

Joe Biden Says Charlamagne Was Being A “Wise Guy” During The “You Aint Black” Interview

(AllHipHop News) The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is Joe Biden, and while he is like the only choice that folk can make to take down Donald Trump, he keeps doing stuff to make people wish he would just shut the hell up.

His latest faux pas highlighted his innate white privilege and his unconscious liberal pandering. In an interview with The Breakfast Club’s Charlamagne da God, he made the mistake of saying that people in the African diaspora that lives in America are not Black if they didn’t vote for him … in the words of Scooby Do “Ruh Ro!”

Well on Tuesday, May 26th, CNN’s Dana Bash basically asked the question that even white people are thinking, “What the hell were you thinking?” [That’s a KERSHAW ST. JAWNSON paraphrase of course]

To this notion, Biden answered:

“First of all, it was a mistake —No. 1. And I was smiling when he was asking the question. I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy to him. He was being a wise guy, and I responded in kind … I shouldn’t have done that. It was a mistake.”

A mistake is putting it mildly. The goal is re-gain the confidence with Black folk and women who are screw-facing him because of so much swirling around him.

The Hip-Hop community, Black, brown, red, yellow or whatever, male, female and those in between, have to move past his goofiness and get out to vote.

It is too late to change our minds or to play games like last time. You know when people wrote the popular gorilla Harambe, possibly costing the former candidate Hillary Clinton the election.

CeeLo Green Shedding The Pounds During Pandemic

(AllHipHop News) CeeLo Green is hoping to come out of the coronavirus lockdown in better shape than ever.

The “Forget You” hitmaker opened up on his health in a chat with the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six and admitted he’s been being “mindful of what I eat, especially with the support of my fiancee, Shani.”

“In a perfect world, when I come out of quarantine, I would like to come out 30 to 40 pounds lighter,” the former The Voice U.S. coach confessed.

It’s not just his diet the star’s been focusing on – he’s also been exercising on the couple’s 10 acre Georgia ranch, adding: “We can go out and walk a mile and still be in the confines of the house. The first thing I wanted to do when I got money was to get a ranch.”

CeeLo is set to release his new album, CeeLo Green Is Thomas Callaway, on June 26, and the singer has launched a campaign for fans to star in his new music video by submitting clips of themselves during isolation.

“I want you to listen to the song and then film some fun things you’re doing with your family throughout this quarantine, like hanging out, cooking, chilling with your pets; whatever speaks to you,” he says. “Film it, share it with me and then you could possibly be featured in the music video.”

All videos must be submitted via a link on his website by June 10.

Beyonce Celebrates Number One With Megan Thee Stallion

(AllHipHop News) Beyonce celebrated her latest U.S. number one by sending flowers and a sweet note to her collaborator, rap newcomer Megan thee Stallion.

The ladies landed the Billboard Hot 100 crown on Tuesday as their “Savage Remix” toppled Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s “Stuck With U” hit, and Beyonce was quick to congratulate Megan for the achievement by having a beautiful bouquet delivered to her home.

Megan shared a short video clip of the gift on her Instagram Story timeline, and revealed the personalized note which came with the blooms.

It read: “Congrats on your number one queen. Love B.”

The present left Megan truly touched, as she credited her idol’s feature for lifting the single to the top.

“We did that,” she captioned the post. “thank you queen @Beyonce.”

Ray J Is Sick And Tired Of Kim Kardashian Jokes

(AllHipHop News) Ray J has urged the world to move on from his relationship with Kim Kardashian, insisting he’s “exhausted” by continually hearing “super old” quips about their former romance.

The 39-year-old singer dated Kim on and off between 2003 and 2006, and infamously co-starred in Kim Kardashian’s Kim K Superstar sex tape.

But now he and Kim have both moved on – with Ray fathering two children with estranged wife Princess Love and Kim a mother of four with husband Kanye West – and he’s keen for people to stop making remarks about his ex-girlfriend.

“I think we’re all in a new space and so, you know, (I) just always think about my kids and think about my wife and think about my family first,” he told Us Weekly. “So, you know, I don’t take offense to any of that because the world will be the world, but it’s definitely super, super, super old.

“I’m definitely exhausted from that life and that world and those subjects. But for me, you know, we always just, we’re looking forward.”

His comments come after Zachary Levi made a joke about his sex tape with Kim while hosting the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards last year.

“And, of course, America’s other sweetheart Ray J, from ‘Love & Hip Hop,’ is here,” Zachary said in his opening monologue. “Although I’m sure some of you are more familiar with his work as a cameraman.”

The camera then panned to Ray and Princess Love, who were together at the time, with the star’s spouse smiling and flipping her middle fingers up at the screen.
