Ray J Is Sick And Tired Of Kim Kardashian Jokes

(AllHipHop News) Ray J has urged the world to move on from his relationship with Kim Kardashian, insisting he’s “exhausted” by continually hearing “super old” quips about their former romance.

The 39-year-old singer dated Kim on and off between 2003 and 2006, and infamously co-starred in Kim Kardashian’s Kim K Superstar sex tape.

But now he and Kim have both moved on – with Ray fathering two children with estranged wife Princess Love and Kim a mother of four with husband Kanye West – and he’s keen for people to stop making remarks about his ex-girlfriend.

“I think we’re all in a new space and so, you know, (I) just always think about my kids and think about my wife and think about my family first,” he told Us Weekly. “So, you know, I don’t take offense to any of that because the world will be the world, but it’s definitely super, super, super old.

“I’m definitely exhausted from that life and that world and those subjects. But for me, you know, we always just, we’re looking forward.”

His comments come after Zachary Levi made a joke about his sex tape with Kim while hosting the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards last year.

“And, of course, America’s other sweetheart Ray J, from ‘Love & Hip Hop,’ is here,” Zachary said in his opening monologue. “Although I’m sure some of you are more familiar with his work as a cameraman.”

The camera then panned to Ray and Princess Love, who were together at the time, with the star’s spouse smiling and flipping her middle fingers up at the screen.

Flo Rida Launches Mobile COVID-19 Testing Center

(AllHipHop News) Flo Rida is teaming up with his personal doctor to launch a mobile Covid-19 testing center in his native Sunshine State.

The rapper, alongside his medic and business partner, Dr. George Tabi have launched a new $1.5 million healthcare enterprise called the Asktabs Mobile Wellness Center – which will aim to test up to 1,500 patients per day.

Asktabs’ 14-strong staff had its first round of tests last week for workers at food firm MetroWrapz in Miami, Florida last week when 30 employees were tested.

Testing at the mobile site is available for anyone, but is mainly providing testing for businesses employees so they can return to work.

The “Low” hitmaker, real name Tramar Lacel Dillard, and his doctor reportedly hope to take the center beyond Miami to conduct testing in other cities in Florida.

For the new project, Dillard and Dr. Tabi have repurposed a van they were using to transport an immune-boosting daily vitamin gummy called Jet Setter to deliver testing supplies.

DaniLeigh adds, “I’m excited to release my new single ‘Dominican Mami’ as I kick off the ‘Monster Energy Live On Location]’ digital series from the garage in Los Angeles on Friday, May 29th!”

The “Live On Location” lineup for June includes New York City’s Lil Tjay, DC’s Rico Nasty, Orlando’s Tyla Yaweh, PG County’s IDK, and Los Angeles’ Shoreline Mafia. Chicago spitter G Herbo will close out the virtual tour with a set from Studio M in LA on June 14.

Atlantic Records Executive Mike Kyser Addresses Rumors Of A Contract Dispute With Cardi B

(AllHipHop News) It has been over two years since Cardi B released her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy. It has been nearly a year since the Bronx-bred rapper released “Press,” her most recent single as a lead artist.

The fact that Cardi has not dropped any new solo music for months led to speculation that there could be a contractual dispute taking place between the A-List artist and her label Atlantic Records. Someone connected to the matter has now addressed the reports.

Mike Kyser, President of Black Music at Atlantic, was a phone guest on this week’s episode of The Joe Budden Podcast. Budden spoke to Kyser about the rumors that his company is in the middle of renegotiating Cardi’s deal.

“Cardi is a superstar and will be treated as such,” said Kyser after laughing at Budden mentioning the alleged contract restructuring. He doubled down on his response by adding, “Cardi is a superstar and we’re gonna treat her as such. Okay? Period. She will be well taken care of. That’s my word.”

Budden then asked if breakout Hip Hop star Roddy Ricch will also be properly compensated for his chart-topping run over the last year. Kyser responded, “1000%.” He also offered, “Cardi is in good hands. Team Atlantic. We love Cardi B.”

Invasion of Privacy debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in 2018 with 255,000 units and received wide-spread acclaim from professional critics. The studio LP went on to spend at least 111 weeks on the chart, earn 3x-Platinum certification from the RIAA, and win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.

Cardi made history by becoming the first female act to see every track from an album get certified Gold or higher by the RIAA. She also became the first female rapper to have three #1 singles on the Hot 100 chart (“Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You”). Plus, IOP broke the record for the longest-charting debut album by a female rapper and the record for the most-streamed album by a female rapper on Spotify.

Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan & Kevin Garnett’s Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony Delayed Until 2021

(AllHipHop News) With everything that is going on in the world right now, it may feel like Kobe Bryant’s untimely death took place years ago. The basketball legend and eight other people actually died in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020.

Bryant was set to be enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame this year, but the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the induction ceremony to be delayed. Jerry Colangelo, the HOF’s chairman of the board of governors, revealed the event is being moved until 2021.

“We’re definitely canceling,” Colangelo told ESPN. “It’s going to have to be the first quarter of next year. We’ll meet in a couple of weeks and look at the options of how and when and where.”

Besides Kobe Bryant, the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2020 will also include fellow former NBA Most Valuable Player Award winners Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. In addition, championship-winning Houston Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich, WNBA All-Star Tamika Catchings, and recently deceased college coach Eddie Sutton also among this year’s selections.

Colangelo confirmed that there will be separate ceremonies for the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021. He stated, “The Class of 2020 is a very special class and deserves its own celebration.”

Ari Lennox Tells Maury Povich “F*ck You” Over A Tweet About A Black Man’s Nose

(AllHipHop News) The official Twitter page for Maury Povich’s The Maury Show is known to jump into online conversations with jokes about parenting and lying. The syndicated program built its brand by offering guests DNA tests and lie detectors for the public’s enjoyment.

Music producer/executive Dwayne “D-Teck” Grant posted a photo of a Black man and a child with large noses on Twitter. The caption read, “No DNA test needed in this case right? @TheMauryShow.”

D-Teck got a response from Maury. In a quote-tweet, the account wrote, “He nose he’s the father.” That particular tweet caught the attention of R&B singer Ari Lennox.

The Dreamville Records representative posted, “And f*ck you Maury.” In the past, Lennox has been very outspoken about how facial features associated with people of African descent, such as wide noses, is mocked in the media.

All of the tweets by Maury and Lennox have been deleted. However, D-Teck later posted several tweets addressing the backlash to his jokes about the man and child’s noses.

He tweeted:

People are so sensitive, if it was an italian and a baby with same big ass nose I posted no one would be saying anything y’all would be cutting up laughing at Maury giving the same response, y’all need to stop being hypocrites laugh a lil and enjoy life. We all Nose that’s not the problem here, be proud of your features distance or not, me and Shaq wear almost the same size in shoes and my head big as f*ck a size 8 fitted barely made it, crack yo jokes im open to it lol people always try to make everything about race. If us colored people unite and started respecting each other, loving each other and stop killing each other, half of our disadvantages in society would be alleviated. We can accomplish the great things United and fight the odds against us together.

The “Press” rapstress returned to Twitter to add, “They looting in Minnesota and as much as I don’t like this type of violence it is what it is. Too much peaceful marches, too much trending hashtags and NO SOLUTIONS! The people are left with NO CHOICE.”

Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo fired Derek Chauvin, the cop suspected of placing his knee on Floyd’s neck, as well as three other officers involved in the incident. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office to charge Chauvin.

(AllHipHop News) The self-described “King of New York” Lil Tjay and the self-described “King of R&B” YK Osiris met up to go one-on-one with boxing gloves. Of course, the moment was filmed and eventually made it to social media.

Lil Tjay later jumped on his IG page to say, “I was just playing with your boy.” YK Osiris offered to put up $30,000 to $40,000 to go another round with Tjay.

Politician In Georgia Facing Arrest Over Rap Video

(AllHipHop News) When posing goes wrong … Now let’s see if this politician, Mark Jones who is running for Georgia district attorney for the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, is really about that life that the constituents he is trying to impress live each and every day.

Jones recently tried to pander to the young Black vote by doing a pretty cool rap video styled commercial for his campaign.

The 55-second video was meant to get folk out to the polls for the June 9 Democratic primary. With a trap track scoring his advertisement, he had some local rappers spitting fire about how he is basically the “people’s champ” and will legalize weed for them should he be elected.

Brown folk are bouncing and rocking in basic hood uniforms, while he looks lily-white in a blue suit and red tie. Still, he vibing with them.

JawGaBoi’s bars were convincing: “Freedom and legalize weed, the people’s DA who we need … He on the ballot, he gon’ be preaching and talking about it. He ’bout that action. Who? Mark Jones.”

Then, in a creative cut, you see a car spinning donuts in a quick cut of the video … you know to add that authentic homeboy vibe … and his opponent took that opportunity to bash him something lovely.

Now Jones is wanted on four felony and two misdemeanor warrants. One of the charges is because his campaign failed to get a permit to shoot in a parking lot at the Columbus Civic Center.

According to Sgt. Katina Williams, the charges also include “conspiracy to commit criminal damage to property, conspiracy to commit interference with government property and conspiracy to commit reckless conduct.”

According to the New York Post, Jones’ lawyers say that he is in the “process of turning himself” into police.

“After examining the facts and evidence, it is clear that the charges involved in this case are fabricated,” attorney Christopher Breault said on Facebook. “A false narrative is being pushed by some in the mainstream media and their friends in the legal community.”

Roc Nation’s Legal Eagle Sues Mississippi Prison’s Healthcare Provider

(AllHipHop News) Prisons are under siege in so many ways and now Roc Nation’s legal eagle is checking them to make sure the inmates within their walls are safe.

When you hear about Roc Nation jumping into prison reform, don’t think that it’s just a tax write off inspired by one of their most successful artists, Philadelphia’s titan Meek Mill.

Instead, know that the Jay-Z backed company is sincere about their investment and reform and the evidence of their commitment can be seen in their support of the prisoners in Mississippi’s infamous Parchman Penitentiary.

Earlier this year, Roc Nation put the pressure on the prison after several inmates complained about the unethical living arrangements and inhumane conditions of the complex.

Riots. Deaths. Politics.

All ran rampant and when Jay-Z and other celebs blew them up in the press, average Americans thought that the governor would keep his promise and clean stuff up.

That is not the case. In fact, after the coronavirus pandemic, things have gotten worse.

Now the legal counsel that represented Roc Nation has filed a new lawsuit that blasts the prison’s healthcare provider.

According to TMZ, Alex Spiro is the lawyer on the case and he is the signature behind the filing.

They are targeting Centene, the parent company of Centurion (the healthcare provider for the jail), and challenging them to get their crap together.

Why?

Inmates, who are US citizens, are dying (and they know it). Over the last six months, almost 50 people have died and countless people have gotten sick.

In addition to Roc Nation filing this lawsuit, Spiro will go after the shareholders of Centurion.

Centene spokeswoman Marcela Hawn said in a statement, “Centurion and its board of directors are proud of the company’s history of providing outstanding and innovative health-care solutions to this vulnerable population. We look forward to sharing more about our role in the delivery of health-care to these individuals during legal proceedings.”

Spiro responded, “Over forty inmates dying in the last few months at Mississippi DOC alone is neither outstanding nor innovative. And it’s definitely nothing to be proud of.”

George Floyd Was A Houston Rapper Down With DJ Screw, Trae tha Truth & Lil Keke

(AllHipHop News) George Floyd is more than just the man cruelly executed by the callous Minneapolis Police Department.

If he is to be known for phrases and any repetition of wordplay, it should not be an interpolation of Eric Garner’s “I Can’t Breathe,” but bars from one of the tracks from his mixtapes he put out with DJ Screw.

That’s right, George Floyd who has become violently-viral Black-death p### for so many, was an emcee who made noise with one of the South’s biggest rap voices.

Born in North Carolina, Floyd grew up in Houston. He was a basketball star in high school and became friends with other state athletes like Texas native Stephen Jackson (who gave him a shout out upon his death).

After copping a basketball scholarship to Florida State University, he figured that music was his calling. By the late 90s, he started making mixtapes with none other than DJ Screw — theeeee DJ Screw (who we know to be responsible for an entire movement in the south— using the rap moniker, Big Floyd.

His crew was called the Presidential Playas and in 2000, they dropped an album called Block Party. Big Floyd performed with other Houston vets like Trae tha Truth and Lil Keke.

Trae the Truth took to IG to call fans into action saying:

“Minneapolis Police, Murdered My Homie In Broad Daylight….Houston Texas This is one of our own From 3rd Ward Cuney Homes!! This Video is Heartbreaking To Watch Him Beg For His Life… This Was A Good Man, He Always Helped Out In The community and wit the kids and More.. He Lost A Lot Of Family in Life And Now Y’all Murder Him … Your Only Reason You Say is because a check didn’t go through!! U Got Me F##KED Up!! @shaunking @leemerrittesq It’s That Time !! I’m Applying Pressure!!! Rest Easy George Floyd…. I Believe They Badge Numbers And Names Are Derek Chauvin #1087 Tou Thao #7162 Everyone in the City and everywhere else Need To Repost!! Planning on Goin Out There!!”

Hey also advocates for more than just the four police directly involved to be fired, but their higher-ups.

“Say His Name …. #GeorgeFloyd Houston Texas Own….. 4 Officers Fired Aint Enough!!!”

Lil Keke has the same outrage, taking to IG with his own missive for justice.

“R.I.P. Big Floyd He took his life in broad day may God bring his family justice ”

A post shared by Lil Keke (@donke713)

So the question is how did this 90s Houston rap notable arrive in Minneapolis?

Reports tell us that Floyd moved to Minneapolis in 2018 for work. Hanging up his mic, he became a truck driver and also worked as a bouncer.

Max B Prep’s New Music And Gets Ready For A Return

(AllHipHop News) When Max B got knocked in 2009 with that 75-year bid, many thought that the Harlem native had thrown away his promising career.

But in 2016, the man behind mixtapes like “Public Domain,” “Coke Wave” and “Million Dollar Baby,” swagged on all the haters who thought The Wave was over when he got his sentence cut down to 20 years.

Now, he’s hustling hard to reduce that 20 to 12, hoping for a 2021 release.

AllStarrDaGreat Is Here To Put Quality Music Back In Hip-Hop

AllStarrDaGreat is here to make sure real Hip-Hop remains seen and heard, putting quality music back in the rap game. The Newark, New Jersey native arrives with phenomenal wordplay and bars, with his moniker (ADG) deriving from his status as a top-notch Division 1 basketball player — on par with his talents as an MC.

His East Coast sound and influence comes directly from the greats who came before him, such as Jay-Z and Biggie.

A teenage ADG would travel the world thanks to his basketball skills, but he never stopped writing and recording. His ear for prolific rhymes combined with that heartfelt, R&B soul translates directly into his music, gifting fans with endless gems as his career rises.

Most recently, he teamed up with the one and only Benny The Butcher on “Randy Foye,” a hip-hop collab if there ever was one. The two are well-respected for their ability to tell stories over a bass-heavy beat. Of course, the record pays tribute to the NBA legend from his hometown.

AllHipHop caught up with AllStarrDaGreat to discuss how he landed into a distribution deal with entrepreneur Jason Geter’s Heavy Sound Labs after years of hard work. The two ended up meeting in New York and the next day, they shot the music video with Benny The Butcher with Geter in the hood.

AllHipHop: Where are you located?

AllStarrDaGreat: I’m in Jersey, outside getting a cut. It’s alright. I don’t know how it is out there but we’re probably the furthest behind everybody. We’re #2 in the country. New York’s #1, then we’re #2.

AllHipHop: What’s it like growing up in North New Jersey??

AllStarrDaGreat: It was real. If you can make in Newark, you can make it anywhere. This is where rappers come and get robbed at. Do the research, every rapper who came here got robbed. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. It’s a good place, it’s good people here, but you move accordingly to how you live your life. Don’t try to be nothing you’re not and you’ll be alright. If you play that game, a lot come with that.

AllHipHop: When did music become real for you?

AllStarrDaGreat: I’ve always loved music since I was kid, but I recognized and started taking it real serious 4 years ago. Understanding the game, understanding how to make stuff happen.

AllHipHop: Who were you bumping growing up?

AllStarrDaGreat: I was bumping Jeezy growing up. Hov of course. Biggie of course. I grew up in a household full of music, so it wasn’t only rap. Prince playing my house, Teddy Pendergrass, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Rick James. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, you have to wake up and clean the house. A whole bunch of music be blasting. After you do that, you might get to go to the mall or something. If you don’t clean up, it’s a dub for you. You don’t get to do nothing! That was real regular, waking up Saturday and Sunday mornings to music blasting.

AllHipHop: How did you get your name?

AllStarrDaGreat: Playing ball. I played basketball, I was good in ball. I do the music too. I’m trying to be a star so I put AllStar with that. You know when you’re in school learning history, you learn about Alexander the Great. I threw “TheGreat” on there. That’s how it really came, being good at ball and putting all that together.

AllHipHop: How’d you link with Benny the Butcher on “Randy Foye”?

AllStarrDaGreat: Working man, being in different studios moving around. Just grinding. When you can spit, you’re going to get aligned with other spitters at some point. I had a record and a good friend of his heard it like “yo, we should put Benny on this.” He made the call and it happened.

AllHipHop: Just like that?

AllStarrDaGreat: Yeah, he’s my mans too. I didn’t work with him off the strength of Benny, I work with him because he’s the type to make things happen. He’s like “yo, Benny my mans. You can spit, you should jump on something with him.” He sent the record and that’s what happened. It’s about relationships man, rap is about that more than anything.

AllHipHop: What does it mean to link with a real spitter?

AllStarrDaGreat: Honestly, that’s what me and all my people do. I only really deal with people who can spit. I came from that, that’s my core. It wasn’t anything different, it’s like being in the studio with the homes. All my people can really rap. That’s what it is. I need to have the best verse, he’s trying to have the best best verse, we’re going at it. It’s like y’all battling each other, but just on a beat. We’re going to leave it on the beat. It was dope, I’m like “yo jump on here, I’ma display my talent.” He’s real hot right now, that was when Drake had just posted him. We had to come with it.

AllHipHop: What was the best memory from the video shoot?

AllStarrDaGreat: We bogarted a spot in Harlem, in some projects. We’re like “yo we’re going to shoot in front of these projects” so that was gangsta. [laughs] No G pass, no nothing. Just out there deep and made it happen, that was dope. Seeing that he’s a real one, that was the highlight of the video shoot. My man Jason Geter was there, we had Jason in the hood too.

AllHipHop: What’s the influence NBA player Randy Foye had on you?

AllStarrDaGreat: Randy Foye’s from the city. He’s from Newark. I wanted to make a reference to somebody from the city who did it in a positive way. I always try to give back to my city. I could have used anybody’s name. I could have said Akbar Pray, but I didn’t really want to. I wanted to give it to somebody else like Randy who really came from the bottom. He has a whole story about himself. His organs on the other side of his body, he’s really built different. His parents got killed, he still made it out. To make it out from Newark after your parents got killed… I said “yo, if I can show kids this, then other kids from the city can say ‘yo I’m from Newark, I can make it out!’” He made it out, you can do it too.

AllHipHop: Being a real lyricist, Is it hard for real hip-hop to be seen nowadays?

AllStarrDaGreat: I mean, it was. But all the funny color hair, the raps you can’t really understand, people lying, it’s going to get played out after a while. You can be a dope lyricist, but it’s about being true to you. The other day, somebody had the Lil Dicky show on. I wasn’t rocking with it. Now as I watch Dave, I rock with Dicky. Because I know his story, I see what he’s doing. I get it now. You don’t always have to be a lyricist but if that’s what you do, then definitely. It’s about being true to yourself and putting that on wax.

AllHipHop: What’s one thing you want fans to get from GODSPEED?

AllStarrDaGreat: All my music has some form of a lesson in it. When I was coming up, it was cats older than me who’d put you on game. It’s about being thorough. Where I’m from, a lot of people try to be gangsta and they get caught up. They don’t understand what’s going on. It’s about being thorough. I want to give you a story in GODSPEED. When you’re in that situation, you can look at that say “yo I heard Starr talk about this, I know how to move in this situation.” It’s all types of different situations in there, but I’m dropping jewels in the music. I want the jewels to get caught. Even when I give you a word that you might not use in your regular vocabulary, I drop that word in there but I’m not preaching to you. It’s something you hear. I want people to go back and check it out.

AllHipHop: Any goals for yourself at this point of your career?

AllStarrDaGreat: To get my label running man. I know it’s a lot of talent out here. I’m trying to put the talent out, put the best talent forward. I’m working on this film, I’m trying to put this film out.

AllHipHop: What’s the film about?

AllStarrDaGreat: I got a track on my tape called “Newark Weather.” If you want to know about Newark, go listen to “Newark Weather” on GODSPEED and watch the video. The video’s out, that’s what the film’s going be about. Everything I do in the music, I’ma do it in a movie. Let’s say how Malcolm X was killed by people from Newark, I’ll put that in a movie but it’s not going to be a history lesson. It’s going to be people talking. You’re getting the knowledge within a film.

AllHipHop: Who’s in your Top 5?

AllStarrDaGreat: HOV, Biggie, Slick Rick. I’m not going to say Eminem just to say it. Give me 3 and leave the other 2. The other 2 can swap out for me any day. If I’m in that bag and it’s not even the best rapper… Thug Motivation meant so much to me that I’d throw that in there. I can’t put Jeezy in my top 5 though, no disrespect. I’ma just stick with 3. I really care about the music.

AllHipHop: Anything else you wanna let us know?

AllStarrDaGreat: Check out that “Randy Foye “video. Check out that GOODSPEED. Look out for what we got going on.

“When they did, the suspect vehicle made a U-turn, came out, and started firing at this group of individuals,” he added.

“There was a driver of the suspect vehicle and we know that the shooter got out on the passenger side.”

Ice Cube Issues Call To Action Against Police Brutality

(AllHipHop News) Rapper and actor Ice Cube has repeated his call for action in police brutality crimes against African-Americans after a Minnesota officer allegedly suffocated a black man by kneeling on his neck.

Footage from the Monday night incident, during which unarmed George Floyd can be heard repeatedly telling officers he was struggling to breathe, has outraged thousands online and led to the dismissals of the cops involved – and now Ice Cube has weighed in.

“How long will we go for Blue on Black Crime before we strike back???” the “F##k Tha Police” rapper tweeted on Tuesday morning, attaching a link to the disturbing video.

He returned to social media as followers started attacking him for his remarks and added: “Anybody coming at me for what I said ain’t ready to do s##t.”

His comments come five years after Ice Cube told Billboard he feared police brutality against African-Americans was becoming an increasingly big issue in America.

“What we got to do is hold these dudes more accountable. We need body cameras on all these cops and we need it to be a federal offense if they tamper with those cameras, manipulate those cameras in any kind of way, or obstruct those cameras,” the rap star said.

“And we need these good cops to start snitching on these bad cops. They talk s##t about our neighborhoods for having a no-snitch policy, but they have a no-snitch policy in their department, and that’s the problem. The good cops need to point out these bad cops, get them out of here, and get your dignity and respect back from the community.”

Police spokesman John Elder insists the deceased, Floyd, “physically resisted officers” adding, “Officers were able to get the suspect into handcuffs, and officers noticed that the man was going into medical distress.”

Floyd lost consciousness at the scene and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died.

“We all watched the horrific death of George Floyd on video as witnesses begged the police officer to take him into the police car and get off his neck,” said Ben Crump, a civil rights attorney representing the Floyd family. “This abusive, excessive, and inhumane use of force cost the life of a man who was being detained by the police for questioning about a non-violent charge.”

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has revealed that all four police officers involved in the death of George Floyd have been “terminated.”

FBI officials and and Minnesota state authorities are investigating the incident.

“Being black in America should not be a death sentence,” Frey tweeted on Tuesday. “For five minutes, we watched a white officer press his knee into a black man’s neck. Five minutes. This officer failed in the most basic, human sense.”

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has called the incident “sickening”, adding: “We will get answers and seek justice.”
