(AllHipHop Rumors) You know we have source and more sources, not just IG and artists snitching on each other. Well, I got a good word from a good bird that said that Kris Jenner, Kim’s momma, IS managing Kanye West. Maybe she is the reason for the slew of pseudo wisdom spewing out of Kanye’s social media. I mean, its all good, but…I still only see this:

What do you think?

I don’t know. I just want ol’ boy to get out of the sunken place.

I don’t know.

Browder, who was only 16-years-old at the time of his imprisonment for purportedly stealing a backpack, was stuck on Rikers Island because he couldn’t make the $10,000 bail.

Tragically, in June of 2015 Kalief Browder committed suicide.

Havoc, who still reps Mobb Deep after Prodigy’s choking death, wasn’t feeling the actions of his former management.

R. Kelly Gets A Virtual Eye Jammie From Social Media; Is Vince Staples SAFE?

(AllHipHop Rumors) R. Kelly simply won’t go away! The alleged (or is that confirmed) p### is out here doing what creepy people do. But, is it creepy? When you are creepy, everything you do is creepy. You can say “Hi” and somebody is going to question that. This may be what happened to R. Kelly when he quoted himself. It was the clapback heard all over the Twitter-verse.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BhuDc8LlKd-/?utm_source=ig_embed

Recently, Kelly has been accused of having sex dungeons, grooming young ladies to be his sex “pets” and a bunch of otherness that has people looking at him like this:

Kelly needs to just go into hiding and especially stay off social media.

On another note, I wonder if Vince Staples is safe! He went in on R. Kelly to such an extent that Kellz allegedly got his boys on him! RELEASE THE HOUNDS!

Second Cop Claimed Meek Mill Pointed A Gun At His Head

(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill could encounter some problems when his bid for freedom heads to the Supreme Court in Pennsylvania.

The rap star could be freed in June after prosecutors recently agreed his original conviction should be vacated over perjured testimony given by the police officer who arrested him in his 2008 drug and gun case. The cop in question is named Reginald Graham, who had been placed on a list the District Attorney kept of corrupt police officers.

Meek and his lawyers have been using Graham’s perjured testimony as one of the main arguments for the rap star’s release.

But there were two other officers who assisted Reginald Graham in arresting Meek Mill.

New documents that have surfaced this week contain testimony of the second officer who arrested the rap star during an encounter over ten years ago.

According to police officer James Johnson’s sworn testimony, Meek Mill supposedly pointed a gun at his officer’s head as they attempted to raid a stash house.

Officer Johnson testified he was startled when Meek allegedly “pointed the gun pointed” at his head.

“I fell backwards and tried to take cover,” Officer Johnson testified. “I was blindsided by a .40 caliber handgun that was bigger than mine and I’m defenseless and I have two babies at home. What do I tell my wife after that? I can’t tell her anything.”

A third officer named Sylvia Jones who was present when Meek was arrested did not testify.

Earlier this week, prosecutors officially agreed Meek Mill’s case was tainted enough to grant the rapper a trial, which would have allowed him to be released on bail.

However, Judge Genece Brinkley refused any testimony from the defense during the proceedings, and instead set another hearing for June.

Meek and his legal team have claimed Judge Brinkley has a vendetta against him, as proven by her recent decision to keep him locked up in spite of overwhelming evidence that the rapper did not receive a fair trial.

Cardi B Stunned To Receive Support Of Bernie Sanders

(AllHipHop News) Rap sensation Cardi B has been left floored after receiving applause from U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders for her thoughts on Social Security.

Cardi touched on her political ideas in a recent interview with GQ magazine, in which she praised former President Franklin D. Roosevelt for his 1935 legislation, which provides financial support for the elderly and disabled.

“First of all, he helped us get over the Depression, all while he was in a wheelchair,” she explained. “Like, this man was suffering from polio at the time of his presidency, and yet all he was worried about was trying to make America great – make America great again for real.

“He’s the real ‘Make America Great Again,'” Cardi said, making reference to current leader Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “because if it wasn’t for him, old people wouldn’t even get Social Security.”

Cardi’s comments caught Sanders’ attention and he took to Twitter on Wednesday to show his support for her statements.

Cardi B is right,” he tweeted. “If we are really going to make America great we need to strengthen Social Security so that seniors are able to retire with the dignity they deserve.”

The hip-hop star, real name is Belcalis Almanzar, was stunned by the response from former 2016 presidential candidate Sanders, and shared a screenshot of his post online as she expressed her excitement.

“Oooooommmmmmggggg (oh my God),” she remarked. “BERNIE SANDERS!!!”

The GQ chat wasn’t the first time Cardi had weighed in on political issues – last month, she put U.S. government officials on blast and demanded an itemized bill of how her tax dollars are spent, while she also advocated for higher wages for school teachers across the country.

Xzibit Adds Fuel To Rumors Diddy Is Gay-ish

https://youtu.be/GxqKR8PcHrc

(AllHipHop Rumors) The rumors have been out there for quite some time, but let me say that methinks Diddy is straight as an indigenous arrow, BUT…there has been smoke. In this video interview, X to the Z is basically saying he went attended Party that Diddy was having back in the day and it was lit! Well, our old buddy Superhead was there and Diddy let X know the scoop on old girl. Remember she is the most infamous industry slore known to game even though she has cleaned up a lot. She was flooding the game and rappers were there for it. Well, apparently one of her maneuvers got the Bad Boy so good that he had to tell Xzibit what she did. Watch the vid…this is gay-ish behavior or not?

J. Cole Managed To Hurt Kanye West’s Feeling

https://youtu.be/wvFDXV0VBg4

(AllHipHop Rumors) How does Kanye West – the hurter of feelings – manage to get hurt up? That’s easy – Cole World! I don’t know who this Kanye West is, but I know that he cannot possibly be tripping over a couple of lines from J. Cole. Kanye has dissed people like Rhymefest for years and years, through action. But I digress. Seems like this still bothers Mr. West.

Ni99a I don’t want no bi*ch from reality shows
Out of touch with reality hoes
Out in Hollywood bringin’ back 5 or 6 hoes
fu*k em’ then we kick em’ to the door
N#### you know how it go
She deserved that, she a bird, it’s a bird trap
You think if I didn’t rap she would flirt back?
Takin’ off her skirt, let her wear my shirt before she leave
I’ma need my shirt back
Ni99a you know how it go

Apparently, Yeezy wants to know why Cole stays dissing him. I think it was just one song, but what difference does it make? What we all need to know is that Kanye has a project on the way NOW so it wasn’t so important for him to address it when those “False Prophets” disses were allegedly levied. Cole never even said ol’ boys name. But now it is time to promote so its time to talk about some two year old mess. Anyway, the Breakfast Club is talking about it. Apparently, C Tha God went out to visit Kanye and talked to him personally and got the scoop.

Casanova is bucking competition on wax, but in the street, he is ready too. A recent youtube showed exactly how Cas gets down when gunshots rang out. Look at this…check out the 3-minute mark if it doesn’t start properly.

https://www.google.com/sorry/index?continue=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbBBSB2zD_A%26feature=youtu.be%26t=179&q=EgQi24toGL_wgvkFIhkA8aeDS9gWLBfqnjpIWHDQxmUC45EpDFQfMgFy

Clipse’s ‘Lord Willin’ To Be Released As Vinyl Me, Please’s Record Of The Month

(AllHipHop News) Yesterday, the world found out King Push is finally on the verge of letting loose his next LP. Kanye West broke the news via his Twitter page by tweeting, “Pusha T May 25th.”

While fans of the Virginia spitter will be able to check out his third studio album next month, they can also re-visit Clipse’s classic debut studio album. Pusha and Malice’s Lord Willin’ is being presented as the Record of the Month from the subscription club Vinyl Me, Please.

The re-issue of the 2002 collection comes on a 180-gram emerald vinyl. Remastered from original sources at Battery Studios in New York, Vinyl Me, Please re-cut the project at 45 RPM.

“It just gives more room to jam amazing sonic information of those grooves, in my non-engineering way of explaining it,” says Andrew Winistorfer is Head of Editorial at Vinyl Me, Please. “There’s been an unspoken—and sometimes spoken on the Internet and to me by some label people—thing in the audiophile vinyl world, that people don’t think there’s as much of a need or necessity to really go all out on rap and hip-hop remastering.”

Winistorfer continues, “There’s a perception that people buying rap albums don’t care as much about how good a record sounds, which we’ve sort of proven -with this, and our Rap & Hip Hop subscription – is not the case. It’s really great to be able to push back against this, and prove that people getting this or Goodie Mob actually do care.”

Other Hip Hop masterpieces made available through Vinyl Me, Please include The Fugees’ The Score, Main Source’s Breaking Atoms, and Goodie Mob’s Soul Food.

VMP is also offering a vinyl pressing of Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle as this May’s Rap & Hip Hop Album. 2018 marks the 25-year-anniversary of the West Coaster’s breakout set.

Happy 4/20: Celebrating the Progression of Cannabis and Hip-Hop Culture

Over the last few decades, there has been a progression in more ways than one in both the cannabis and hip-hop sectors. In many ways, cannabis has been a part of hip-hop culture since day one. Hip-hop was a subculture and art movement that developed in New York City during the late 1970s. During this time, pot smokers were already trying to advocate for cannabis after all the propaganda that had happened in the 1930s, and the Boggs Act of 1952 had just created severe mandatory sentences for a variety of drug-related offenses, including cannabis.

https://www.google.com/sorry/index?continue=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5piceYxkrI&q=EgQi3HnaGL3ygvkFIhkA8aeDS1hy0O0a7_ZPaF-M-96fcKCJCcJ0MgFy The final nail in the coffin for cannabis came when Congress passed the Controlled Substances Act of 1970. The act created individual schedules or categories that the various drugs fit into because of the potential for their abuse. The plant was placed in the most restrictive category, Schedule I, as the government concluded that cannabis had no valid medical use and that there was potential for abuse of it. But, hip-hop has played a role in cannabis advocacy since its inception, perhaps because of all the political turmoil that was happening on the topic around the time of the early hip-hop movement. Various artists have played a role in this, both legally and illegally, and have certainly been influential in normalizing the cannabis conversation.

5 Rappers Who Top the List for Cannabis Advocacy:

1. Cypress Hill

Cypress Hill began some of the earliest advocacy efforts in the 1990s, even going so far as to light a joint on stage during Saturday Night Live in 1993, and have now even formed a partnership with Bhang Chocolates and officially become a part of the cannabis industry. B-Real, lead artist for Cypress Hill, said, “It feels amazing that 25 years after we put our first album out, where we openly talked about legalizing marijuana, taboo at the time, that we finally as a people are living in time of legalization and now have opportunities to be a part of the blossoming industry.”

2. Snoop Dogg

Throughout his rap career, Snoop has performed songs such as Smoke the Weed, Kush Ups, This Weed Iz Mine, and of course there’s Snoop’s now catch-phrase lyric from The Next Episode “smoke weed every day” which hit the market in 2000 and has become one of the hashtags still used most frequently by stoners on social media. He has been in the forefront of this movement for over 20+ years now, being featured on Dr. Dre’s album The Chronic in 1992. Snoop has recently entered the industry as well, launching his own line of products, Leafs by Snoop, that is based in Colorado and a venture capital fund called Casa Verde Capital with $45 million to invest in the cannabis industry.

3. Wiz Khalifa

Even in 2011, at the age of 23, when he was asked about cannabis, Khalifa said, “It’s not just a musical thing, not just a creative thing. I just like to be in that zone. And it helps me just do everything. Pot just plays a huge roll in the everyday mechanics of my life. It totally keeps me grounded,” Wiz said in an interview. He has advocated for the plant through his music and public appearances every since. Khalifa has partnered with RiverRock Cannabis and now has a strain all of his own, Khalifa Kush. You can watch B Real of Cypress Hill and Wiz Khalifa talk about the topic of cannabis together on Smokebox.

4. Curren$y

It is no secret that New Orleans rapper Curren$y loves weed. He rhymes about it, he talks about it in interviews and continually helps to normalize the cannabis conversation in his music and outreach to fans. In 2012, when the very first United States (Colorado and Washington) legalized cannabis, he even offered a free weed rolling tray to anyone who pre-ordered his album Stoned Immaculate. Recently, Curren$y (aka Spitta Andretti), has partnered with long-time growers and attached his name to an OG strain after discovering it at a High Times Cup, and it has been coined “Andretti OG.” This OG strain survived years of raids, relocations and was originally popped from seed.

5. Berner

San Francisco based rapper Berner is a weed enthusiast and a businessman who grew up selling weed and making music because he enjoyed it, as did many other cannabis and hip-hop pioneers. Then, when his mom died of cancer, his mindset shifted and he became even more passionate about the cannabis movement. To date, Berner and his fam have created and marketed several unique cannabis strains, and he has also become a fashion and marijuana industry entrepreneur with his own medical marijuana dispensaries, Cookies SF, Collective Efforts, and H2C Cookies 707. He also owns two lifestyle clothing companies: FreshKo and Cookiesand runs a line of hemp water named Hemp20.

More Collaborations Between Cannabis and Hip-Hop

Now, aside from seeing hip-hop artists both advocate for cannabis and enter the cannabis industry, we are seeing other cannabis collaborations that are hip-hop themed pop up, such as Green Hop, which is the first historical hip-hop dispensary and is based in Portland, Oregon. Karaja Crews is the founder co-owner is the owner of Green Hop and said, “I was raised in the era of the early hip-hop movement and my adolescent years were spent being educated about who I was as a young black male by hip-hop artists,” and added, “I believe hip-hop helped cannabis become legal. The culture was unapologetic about the use of cannabis, artists kept talking about it and have ultimately help normalize cannabis.” Crews created the store to pay homage to the culture and to keep that story in the forefront, that “if it weren’t for hip-hop cannabis wouldn’t be legal and one of our key missions to help stop the cannabis stigma and to help promote science and medicinal benefits of the plant,” he explained. The shop does educational “know your bud” seminars, and is one of the only black-owned dispensaries in Portland. They are having their grand opening party on June 16th, and the headliner is Dead Prez. With how adversely minorities and especially young black men have been affected by cannabis prohibition and the overall drug war, it is critical that people of color who are entering the cannabis industry have equal access. Organizations such as The Hood Incubator in California are trying to do just that. Their mission is to increase the participation of Black and Brown communities in the legal cannabis industry- as investors, owners, workers, patients, consumers, and advocates through community organizing, policy advocacy, and economic development. Crews says Green Hop is creating a business incubator similar to this and hopes to advocate for the same things in Oregon.

Where did 420 come from anyway?

While some people think the term 420 originated from a police code, the association of 420 and weed originated in the 1970s with group of San Rafael High School friends known as the Waldos (because their chosen hang-out spot was a wall outside the school) who used the term in connection with a fall 1971 plan to search for an abandoned cannabis crop that they had learned about in a nearby forest. They designated the Louis Pasteur statue on the grounds of San Rafael High School as their meeting place, and 4:20 p.m. as their meeting time. The group referred to this plan as “4:20 Louis.” After having no success in finding the crop, they eventually shortened their phrase to “4:20,” which quickly spread through the early ‘70s stoner culture and has now evolved into a codeword that cannabis consumers use on the daily. 4/20 has become a day that pot smokers all over the world celebrate each April 20th. The day has managed to become something of a national holiday for cannabis consumers everywhere, even in the face of prohibition. So, what’s your 4/20 on this holiday? Check out www.theweedblog.comfor some ideas!
