SACBxY Explains How Dancing Took Him To The SuperBowl With Bruno Mars & Beyond

SACBxY has been entertaining you for years, you just don’t know it. Born and raised in Sacramento, SACBxy, real name Phil Tayag is here to prove his love for both dance and music can coexist.

Being one of the original members of the world-renowned Jabbawockeez, the Filipino-American creative won America’s Best Dance Crew with the dance group back in 2008.

Since then, he’s performed on the world’s biggest stages including the NBA All-Star Game with Shaq O’Neal and even the NBA Finals for 3 years.

SACBxY recently unleashed the official music video for “in mY way,” which similar to his name, pays tribute to his hometown of Sac. He even performed the record alongside dance crew TRYBE inside the Sacramento Kings’ Golden 1 Center, on Filipino Roots Night.

4 years back, he had the privilege of performing with Bruno Mars at Super Bowl 50. Shortly after, he starred in Bruno’s “Finesse” video featuring Cardi B, later performing alongside the pop stars at the 60th Grammy Awards.

Beyond the music, SACBxY is a father and entrepreneur who founded his own brand BWBE back in 2005.

AllHipHop: What inspired your name SACBxY?

SACBxY: They call me SB, SB is for SacBxy. In 2005, they used to call me Swagger Boy. When I used to record, they’d be like “bro, you’re Swagger Boy.” Because people were using the word swag a lot. I started going by SB, then it evolved into SACBxY. I’m from Sacramento, but keeping it in the private. Keeping it cool.

AllHipHop: Talk about being from Sac, and also being Filipino.

SACBxY: We’ve always felt like underdogs. Because I have family who’s from Frisco and from LA in Cerritos, I’ve always had family in a bigger city. Sac, we’ve always been this underdog so it’s been stained in my mind. Probably for a lot of people I was around coming up, people thought we’re from some butt crack ass city.

AllHipHop: How did you make it out?

SACBxY: Because we were so different. We were given the opportunity to come into our own, sticking with the dance and music. Creating our own identity where now, we’re starting to be recognized. We’re a part of this movement in Northern Cali, where people would say the Bay Area. We’re one city away so there’s a technicality of us being in the valley. The culture is still very similar, or even to some people the same. We’ve always felt like these underdogs but because there’s always been that hunger, we turned it into something. Used that as gas to get to where we are.

AllHipHop: Bring us back when you first joined TRYBE, what were those days like?

SACBxY: TRYBE is a collective of not only rappers or dancers. Because I’ve been part of the business aspect of being an artist, so it’s a collective of different types of artists. We need to eat, so we have chefs who are rocking with the TRYBE. Graphic designers. It’s really a collective as opposed to one thing. This isn’t just a rap group or clothing line, it’s a collective of artists pushing to be free.

AllHipHop: At what point did you realize this music thing was for real?

SACBxY: I wrote my first verse in second grade. I was messing around then, I had just got the Regulate Warren G tape. I’ve always been into rap. I grew up in that s##t, so probably since then. Some people know me as a dancer, but some know me as a rapper. To me, there’s never been this pivotal moment. It’s something I’ve always been doing since I was young, I never stopped.

AllHipHop: What inspired “In my Way”? What made you shoot it in your hometown of Sac?

SACBxY: It was just out the gate, this comeback. I was doing my last project I had dropped in 2012, then I got really busy getting this other company off the ground. It actually got really big, I got caught up doing that. Now I’m in this space where ultimately my motivation isn’t so much money or anything material, it’s freedom-driven. Yes I love to dance, but I love to make music. I love to rap. I love to create clothes. Everything’s based on what I really want to do in my heart. With “in mY way,” I’m having fun. It wasn’t any particular crazy agenda. This is who I am, I’ve been like this, and I just need to run it. Be who I am.

AllHipHop: Do you still feel like the underdog?

SACBxY: I guess music-wise, because I haven’t been dropping. I’ve been on this campaign. Some people might look at me as maybe I am, but I do have a bunch of years under my belt.

AllHipHop: Were you nervous to perform with Bruno Mars at Super Bowl 50?

SACBxY: What’s funny about that is it’s been a while since I’ve performed without a mask. It hit me a few minutes before I went on stage, I’m like “oh s##t, what am I supposed to do with my face?” [laughs] It was a trip. Jumping on stage is like being on a roller coaster. As soon as you take that first dip [snaps], it’s go. That’s it.

AllHipHop: Best memory from the “Finesse” video w/ Cardi B?

SACBxY: It’s really doing s##t I like to do, not feeling confined. Even with Cardi, she could be looked at as an underdog in her own way. People wouldn’t think she’s a super MC. Everyone’s going to put titles and have all of this criticism to try and fit somebody into a box.

Even between those 2 artists alone, they’re ultimately people who are comfortable with themselves. When you force that upon the market like “hey this is how I am,” you become relentless about it. You’re unapologetic about it. That’s what we have in common, this sense of it is what it is. I just so happen to be who I am or look the way I do, but I do this s##t. Run It.

AllHipHop: Who’s in your Top 5 in 2020?

SACBxY: I always have to say Hov always. I definitely have to put Beyoncé up there. Even with them 2, I was fans of them separately before they even got together. Bruno’s my dude, he’s really solid. Bruno for sure. I’ll put Drake up there. I’m a Libra so I’m indecisive. I’ma say Erykah Badu.

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?

SACBxY: We dropped this video called “Dance” with my brother Ru AREYOU, he’s from our collective TRYBE as well. We’re about to keep dropping s##t.

Diddy’s Celebrity Dance-a-thon Raises Almost $4 Million

(AllHipHop News) Sean “Diddy” Combs raised more than $3.7 million to aid U.S. healthcare workers during the first hour of his Easter Sunday digital dance party.

The music mogul hastily organized the coronavirus relief benefit in collaboration with bosses at Direct Action, and kicked off the holiday event with his family on Instagram Live at 3pm EST.

The charity event opened with a set by DJ D-Nice, before Diddy invited actress/singer Rita Wilson to join in the livestreamed bash.

The beginning of Diddy’s hours-long dance party also featured a chat with Brazilian superstar Anitta, and models Naomi Campbell and Winnie Harlow, while Snoop Dogg, Drake, Kelly Rowland, Justin Bieber, DJ Khaled, and Lizzo are set to make remote cameos, too.

Diddy also teased an appearance by his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, and her fiance, former baseball ace Alex Rodriguez, in addition to Megan Thee Stallion, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, and Mark Wahlberg.

Following the first hour of the dance party, Diddy announced the bash had already helped him raise $3.5 million and counting for healthcare staff in underprivileged areas of the U.S.

Actor Tracy Morgan Flips Out On Pedestrian Over Lamborghini Run-In

(AllHipHop News) Comedian Tracy Morgan became engaged in a shouting match in New York City’s Times Square over the Easter holiday weekend after an alleged run-in with a pedestrian.

The 30 Rock star was caught on camera standing beside his red Lamborghini as he argued with a man by a pedestrian crossing in the middle of Manhattan, which is currently under a coronavirus lockdown.

Sources tell TMZ that Morgan had started to make a right turn on a green traffic light at the corner of 42nd Street and Broadway, when he almost collided with the guy, who was attempting to cross the road.

The actor reportedly claimed the man had been jaywalking, as they disagreed about who had the right of way.

Police officers were spotted passing by in a patrol car during the dispute, but did not stop to investigate and instead urged the two parties to move along.

Before getting back behind the wheel, Morgan walked around his sports car to check for any damage, as the pedestrian headed off with what appeared to be a slight limp.

The funnyman has yet to comment on the incident, which occurred months after he was involved in a minor fender bender with his brand new Bugatti last summer.

He was subsequently found not to be at fault in that case.

Ja Rule Wants To Battle 50 Cent During The Next Verzuz Series

(AllHipHop News) While many are hiding Easter eggs throughout their houses (because no one in their right mind is going outside), Fat Joe was brokering a deal with Swizz Beatz that might be the most anticipated VERZUZ battle of all times!

On the heels of the friendly battle between RZA and DJ Premier, Scott Storch and Mannie Fresh and T-Pain and Lil Jon, Fat Joe proposed that South Queens rivals, Ja Rule and 50 Cent, hop on the popular Instagram series and go head-to-head with hits.

Joey Crack and The Ruff Ryders head producer were on Insta Live when Ja Rule shouted out (from Crack’s phone), “I want all the smoke. I’ll behave.”

The “All The Way Up” rapper said, “But you got to behave,” while Swizz chimed in, “That sounds like a devilish behave.”

“I promise I behave.” The Rule says.

Everyone agreed that such a battle would probably break the internet.

Swizz, whose word is proving prophetic, said “we just want to make sure that the intentions are where they need to be.”

Intentions will be hard to discern. But fans would definitely be in for a treat should this battle.

50 Cent can pull from his extensive catalog, that is approaching 25 years (remember he was a writer for many Jam Master Jay artists back in the day).

Ja Rule’s body of work can’t be sneezed at as he penned monster joints for JLo and Ashanti, in addition to his own multi-platinumed rap career.

Swizz… please… make this happen… even if you need digital regulators like Fat Joe keeping tempers cool.

Gucci Mane Catches Backlash For Shocking Coronavirus Easter Tweet

(AllHipHop News) Easter Sunday is a day reserved for believers who point to the giver of their salvation, Jesus the Christ and his resurrection from the grave.

Yet, Atlanta’s own Gucci Mane has shifted the day to one of damnation, taking to his Twitter account to wish death to his haters.

“Death to my haters” is a term is not a new one.

Many have wished ‘death’ to their haters before, but La Flare tweeted his version of the adage and suggested that those who go against him should die from the fiendish coronavirus.

Fans thought this was more than just rough and tumble Hip-Hop-speak. They believed it to be vile and rude.

When he posted: “I pray my haters die of corona virus.”

His supporters, who usually ride with their guy Big Guwop, weren’t rolling with him on this one.

Wandie @Yung_TheoLogyZA commented:

“But the real hater is the one wishing death upon others. Think about it.”

Majesty772 was less philosophical, simply stating “This ain’t it”

Then mix-martial arts champion and UFC fighter Gerald Harris was moved to give some advice to the rapper, “Man you need some online church services and a hug. This is the worst timed tweet ever. There are people actually mourning the loss of loved ones now, due to the virus. Bad move big homie…” and wound up getting blocked.

Nait Jones, a Silicon Valley executive and entertainment marketing strategist put the cherry on the top— reminding him that this day is supposed to be holy.

“On Easter morning? this can’t be what’s on your mind Our enemies are just reflections of the parts of us we hate the most”

Toni Braxton Aims To Marry Birdman This Year, Damn The Pandemic

(AllHipHop News) Toni Braxton is committed to becoming Mrs. Birdman this year, despite the coronavirus crisis.

The singer and rap mogul Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams became engaged in 2018 after dating for two years, and now Toni has made it clear she’s ready to jump back into marriage.

“We have been going back and forth on wedding dates,” the 54-year-old Un-Break My Heart star told the “Rick & Sasha Morning Show” on Thursday. “We had a great date but then it was getting too big (and) we didn’t want a big wedding. Then we said, ‘OK, we don’t want it too small’… We’ve been trying to figure it out, but we are definitely gonna do it this year.”

Braxton didn’t offer up any further details but made it clear the nuptials wouldn’t be a quick and simple affair.

“He (Williams) said, ‘OK, let’s do the drive through’, and I’m like, ‘We are not doing a drive through. I’m not ordering fries after we get married, babe’.”

Toni has been married once before – she and singer/producer Keri Lewis, the father of her two kids, divorced in 2013.

Ironically, Toni just dropped a new single titled “Do It,” which is blowing up on the radio in the United States.

Beastie Boys Defend Asians From Racism

(AllHipHop News) The Beastie Boys have condemned racism towards the Asian community in a new Facebook post.

The “No Sleep Till” Brooklyn hitmakers are appalled by attacks on Asians, who are being blamed for the coronavirus crisis by ignorant Americans, and as their new documentary, Beastie Boys Story, hits Apple TV, Mike D and Ad-Rock are speaking out.

“How about we give it a break with racism. Being hateful towards people of Asian descent will not keep you safe from this Coronavirus. We’re all in this together,” the duo’s social media post reads.

Rod Wave’s ‘Pray 4 Love’ Becomes The Most-Streamed Album For The Week

(AllHipHop News) Florida rapper Rod Wave currently has the #2 album in the country. Pray 4 Love opened with 72,000 first-week equivalent album units to take the runner-up slot on the Billboard 200 chart.

While Pray 4 Love fell short of knocking off The Weeknd’s After Hours for the pole position, Wave did land at #1 one it came to streaming. The Alamo Records-released project collected 105.8 million streams in its first seven days for the week’s best total.

In November 2019, Rod Wave’s Ghetto Gospel LP peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 chart. That set included the single “Heart on Ice (Remix)” featuring Lil Durk which has gone on to be certified platinum by the RIAA.

Elsewhere on the latest Billboard album sales rankings, Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake stayed at #3 and Lil Baby’s My Turn climbed two positions to #4. Roddy Ricch’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial (#7), Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding (#9), and Jhené Aiko’s Chilombo (#10) each made it into the Top 10 region again.

Doja Cat Slams “Immature” Nicki Minaj Stans On Twitter

(AllHipHop News) Monday morning began with #DojaCatIsOverParty trending on Twitter. Apparently, the supposed backlash is the result of Nicki Minaj’s Barbz fanbase attacking Doja Cat for a comment she posted on the social media platform.

Two days ago, Doja retweeted a fan-made Rolling Stone cover that highlighted the Hot Pink album creator as well as fellow female rappers Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion. The Los Angeles resident born Amalaratna Dlamin simply wrote “fire” in response to the magazine replica.

https://twitter.com/DojaCat/status/1249050114527645702

Twitter user @OTeeJay_ later suggested that Doja should have been placed in the center of the fake RS image instead of Minaj. That one opinion led to some of the Barbz slamming @OTeeJay_ for what they viewed as disrespect directed at their favorite artist. Doja then came to his defense.

“Stop responding to them they’re Twitter gangsters and they have nothing kind to say about you or anyone. They live and breathe being f*ckin immature,” wrote the “Say So” singer. When called out for not addressing the situation sooner, Doja added, “I don’t have to say sh*t to a bunch of children because I was too busy making dank f*ckin memes all day.”

Hip Hop artists have complained that toxic “stans” online can be the initial cause of friction between two rappers in real life. For example, last August, Megan Thee Stallion expressed that she felt as if fans were trying to force her into “picking sides” between public adversaries Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, even though Meg claimed to like both women.

Cardi B Responds To Critic Accusing Her Of Lying About $1 Million Fashion Nova Giveaway

(AllHipHop News) “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker Cardi B and the LA-based clothing brand Fashion Nova join together to donate $1,000 every hour to individuals affected by the current COVID-19 outbreak. Fashion Nova has already announced over 70 recipients on its website.

However, some people are questioning if the #FashionNovaCARES relief funding is actually real. One Twitter user, going by the handle @imsoloveLee, even demanded to see more proof of the winners besides what has been presented by Fashion Nova so far.

“I feel like Fashion Nova and Cardi B lying. Where the live winners at. Not a list of names. I wanna see folks screenshots,” wrote @imsoloveLee early Monday morning. Cardi B responded by tweeting, “We finna post them tomorrow and I name some the other day on live and tomorrow imma give it out to ten people at one time on my live. We don’t give to show. Some people don’t want the world to know they got help.”

To qualify for #FashionNovaCARES aid, individuals in need have to share their personal stories and information on fashionnova.com/cares. Each day, twenty-four people will be selected as beneficiaries throughout the duration of the program which is running until May 20.

“People are struggling to pay rent, buy food, medicine and other essentials for themselves and their families. We all feel compassion and concern for those affected by the Coronavirus,” stated Richard Saghian, founder and CEO of Fashion Nova, in an April 8 press release.

Saghian continued, “Fashion Nova Cares with Cardi B will provide people with necessary relief to help them get through this crisis. As a community-driven brand, we are inspired by the kindness and generosity of others and we wanted to do our part to help those in need.”

The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours’ Holds Onto No. 1 For A Third Straight Week

(AllHipHop News) Even an unexpected, highly publicized songwriter-centered dispute involving Usher’s#### “Climax” could not stop The Weeknd’s reign atop the Billboard 200. His After Hours album remained at #1 for a third straight week.

After Hours brought in another 90,000 units in its third week of release. The Weeknd has now tied Roddy Ricch (Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial) for the most weeks at #1 in 2020. Ricch’s effort has spent four non-consecutive weeks in the top spot.

Two weeks ago, After Hours debuted at #1 with a career-best 444,000 album-equivalent units and a record-breaking 220.7 million streams. It then prevailed on the Billboard 200 chart a week later with an additional 138,000 units.

Billboard reports After Hours is benefiting from sales of merchandise/album bundles. The strategy of selling music projects along with special products has become a common practice in the industry over the last several years.

The Weeknd, Illangelo, Metro Boomin, Max Martin, Holter, and others provided production for After Hours. A deluxe edition of the LP, with beats by DaHeala, was also added to DSPs following the release of the original version.

Tory Lanez Addresses Low Sales Projections For ‘The New Toronto 3’

(AllHipHop News) On Friday, Tory Lanez dropped his latest commercial mixtape titled The New Toronto 3 via Interscope Records. The body of work arrived after the rapper/singer became an Instagram Live sensation with his star-studded Quarantine Radio show.

Even with all the media attention from Quarantine Radio, HitsDailyDouble projects The New Toronto 3 to open with 55,000-65,000 first-week units. That range is a decline from the numbers brought in by Lanez’s Chixtape 5 (83,000 units) just five months ago.

Some social media users apparently started criticizing the Canadian for the perceived low sales. The Sports Crave founder and Panoramic Records CEO Noah Miller defended Tory by tweeting about the entertainer’s purported increase in Instagram followers, YouTube subscribers, and Spotify listeners over the last month.

Lanez also addressed his critics. He wrote on Instagram:

I don’t know who this “Noah Miller” guy is … but he speaking facts . Just for insight #TheNewToronto3 is a mixtape .. and those are my first day predictions which can fluctuate thru out the week .. when chixtape 5 dropped they projected 48-55k units .. it later that week had 90 MILLION streams and sold 86,000 units … DOWNLOAD #TheNewToronto3 ON ALL PLATFORMS NOW … love it’s about good music . Not competition

Diddy Stops Lizzos Easter Twerk-Fest!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Ya’ll know…I love everybody like Brother Love. But this is EASTER! (At least at the time of this writing!) And we love us some big bodied, lovely Lizzo! But, Lizzo can be tone deaf at times. She didn’t catch the vibes Diddy was sending out all over the world today. He was trying to raise awareness for coronavirus and sending food to essential workers via DoorDash.

But, check out how it all went down.

What do you say when one of the biggest stars in Wakanda tries to star TWERKING on your LIVE as you CLEARLY have a corporate sponsor like DoorDash?! You STOP THAT NINJA! Salute to Diddy….still a BOSS.

Did Jay-Z And Preemo Record A Massive Diss?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Right off the heels of the battle with RZA, DJ Premier is coming back straight into our rumor section. Hopefully, this chatter on the streets does not bother the god Preem. But check this out.

Now, I am looking at this tweet….It is very basic: “Preemo produced a heavy diss track during the RD era. But Hov erased it.” Now, if you know history like I know it, you know that Jay-Z released his debut album the same year that Tupac died. In fact, it was a short period of time. June and September.

As you should know, Tupac was dissing EVERYBODY back then and it was not pretty. I am not going to get into the minutiae of it all. I don’t want to get into the West/East Beef. But, it has been noted that Jay-Z, emerging as a pillar of the East, did not fire back at Pac. BIG didn’t either.

HOWEVER. If you have read this far, keep reading.

First of all, I have ZERO doubt taht Jay-Z had a diss to Tupac. Did the tweet say Pac’s name? No. But that is what I believe if there was in fact a diss that was so heavy.  Now, I think Jay is a supreme strategist and knew that he would get deep in the mud if he engaged in a war with Pac. Pac’s disrespect had no bounds. He totally lied about screwing Faith, Big’s wife, for example.

Anyway, Jay allegedly deleted the diss, whereas Mobb Deep and some others from New York kept theirs.

Here is a bonus rumor that I know to be true….Biggie had a real Pac diss as well. And I don’t mean the subtle jabs and smirks that he rapped. Biggie had an all out Pac diss that never saw the light of day. I know somebody that heard it. I admit this is many years ago, in the late 90’s, but it exists.

Thoughts.

KBeaZy Explains Producing Hits For Roddy Ricch, Juice WRLD G-Eazy And Chief Keef

KBeaZy is FYED UP! Just like his producer tag, mantra, and merch. The music producer hails from Kalamazoo, Michigan and is doing what most 18-year-olds can only dream of.

With over 111K subscribers on Youtube, KBeaZy, real name Keegan Bach has placements with some of rap’s greatest artists, from Smokepurpp to Roddy Ricch to Chief Keef.

What began as a mere interest and hobby soon turned into a passion and career. Through listening to his favorite artists such as Future and Drake, KBeaZy began to upload tutorials on Youtube on how to make similar “Type Beats.”

Fast forward to 2020, he’s accumulated over 10 million views and counting.

AllHipHop caught up with KBeaZy to discuss his producer tag, goals, getting placements with Roddy, Purpp, and Chief Keef, and more!

AllHipHop: When’d you move to Los Angeles?

KBeaZy: I graduated high school in May and I moved out here in July, so I’ve been here half a year.

AllHipHop: How’d you come up with the tag FYED UP?

KBeaZy: I don’t even know honestly. I needed a tag. I had a few but every producer nowadays has a few tags that are corny. I finally got one that’s good after a few tries. So my third try, I’m like “bro I need a tag.” Then I had that idea.

AllHipHop: Who is it saying it?

KBeaZy: It’s my boy Tezzy. I have one from Tezzy, then I have one from G Eazy. I haven’t used it yet.

AllHipHop: You’re only 18, how did this music thing start?

KBeaZy: I just really loved making beats. Obviously back home in my hometown, I’m from Kalamazoo.

AllHipHop: Is that by Detroit?

KBeaZy: Everyone asks that [chuckles]. If this is Michigan because it’s a mitt [holds up hand], Detroit’s here and Kalamazoo’s here. But there’s only one studio in Kalamazoo, it’s no music at all. But I started collabing with bigger producers. I made a name for myself on YouTube.

AllHipHop: How did you make a name on YouTube?

KBeaZy: I was doing tutorials. Well first, I did type beats. Freshman and sophomore year of high school, I started doing type beats. I’d upload them as well.

AllHipHop: What are type beats?

KBeaZy: Like Future type beats, that whole thing. But it was dead, people were asking me “yo, you need to show us how you make them. So I started doing tutorials, showing the screen and explaining how to make beats to people. I progressed from there. I started collabing with bigger producers and I got placements that way.

AllHipHop: Is this all from your home?

KBeaZy: Yeah.

AllHipHop: What were you posting on YouTube?

KBeaZy: What really started getting views was I’d teach people how to make beats. I’d teach people how to make a melodic beat, how to make a trap beat, whatever. I’d explain the whole thing. They were 10-minute videos mostly.

AllHipHop: Talk about making your first beat.

KBeaZy: My first beat was 3.5 years ago, so I’d just turned 15. End of freshman year. I was trash too, it was so bad. My first beat was terrible. I got a little bit better. My boy told me “just try to make beats,” I’m like “bro, I can’t.” I actually quit. I tried it for a week like “bro I’m so bad,” then I don’t know. I just wanted to do it again. I made beats until I was good I guess.

AllHipHop: This whole time, you’re in high school. What were parents thinking?

KBeaZy: I started making money to the point where I could’ve moved out. From the beats, my YouTube, all that stuff.

AllHipHop: How many subscribers do you have?

KBeaZy: 111K. I started making money to the point where I could’ve move out, right before senior year. My whole senior year, I was making good money. They liked it, they supported it. But they also wanted me to go to college. I’m the first person in 4 generations of my family to not get into Notre Dame. I didn’t get in because I tanked my grades. I was so focused on making beats, especially the last two years. I kept saying “I’m not going to school, I’m not going to school.” Finally, they’re like “alright bet.”

AllHipHop: At what point did you realize this music thing was going to be your career?

KBeaZy: Low key, I wanted this so bad. I’m like “I’m going to do it until it is. The first time in my head that I was like yo i’m not going to school, i’m going to do this, I sold my beat for like $300 online to some random person. Not a big artist, shout out to whoever it was though.

AllHipHop: Did they propose that number or was it you?

KBeaZy: I don’t remember how it went. I had sold a few beats for $20. I remember he said “yo, I want this beat exclusive.” We went back and forth a few times. $300 is really nothing but at the time, I was lit. I had applied for a regular job a week before that, then I sold my first beat. I’ve never worked a regular job. I literally was about to go get a job.

AllHipHop: What job was it?

KBeaZy: I was about to teach tennis classes.

AllHipHop: What’s your love for hip-hop?

KBeaZy: I’ve always loved it. Even in 6th grade, I really started liking rap music and it just evolved. Now I like all types of rap music: old rap, new rap, whatever. I’d say ’05 and up is my sweet spot.

AllHipHop: Who are some artists?

KBeaZy: Future. Drake. Roddy. Thug. Juice WRLD, rest in peace. There’s a lot.

AllHipHop: How did you get to co-produce on Chief Keef’s “I Need More”?

KBeaZy: That was through my boy DP. I posted a tutorial on how to make a DP type beat. If you know DP, he did a bunch of Keef’s stuff, a bunch of Uzi’s stuff. He saw the video somehow and put it on his story. Everyone started tagging me like “yo, DP saw your video!” I DM’ed a year before that “yo what’s good,” but he didn’t see it obviously. But after he saw that video, he went back and checked my DM. Then I sent him some stuff.

AllHipHop: What did he say?

KBeaZy: He’s like “yo I saw your video, s##t’s fire.”

AllHipHop: Wow, that’s so organic.

KBeaZy: Facts! Literally the most organic way. He saw a video and it happened like that.

AllHipHop: How did you get to produce on Roddy Ricch’s “Feed The Streets 2”?

KBeaZy: That was another similar scenario. Tarentino from 808 Mafia who did “March Madness” for Future, he’s one of my favorite producers still to this day. I tweeted at him like “yo, let’s cook up.” He replied to me and gave me his email. He texted me one night like “hold this beat, I got Roddy on it.” Roddy followed me on IG, DMed me. That was pretty dope.

That was before Roddy was super lit, but I knew from then. Because he didn’t have much music out, “Die Young” just came out. I found it and the next week, he was on my beat. He DMed me like “yo what’s good, send more.” It’s funny too because I knew he was going to be a big star. “He’s out of here, he’s fire.” But kids at my school at that point were thinking it was crazy. They didn’t really know who Roddy is because I’m from Michigan, no one knew him like that. To see him now and when I go back, everyone’s listening to Roddy. It’s crazy. It’s cool to play a part in that, to play any role.

AllHipHop: What about Smokepurpp on “What I Please”?

KBeaZy: I was at the studio one night with my boy D Boy who works with Murda. This was in Los Angeles. Purpp pulled up, I met him that night and we recorded some songs. He’s dope to work with, I don’t think he gets enough credit to be honest. He’s lit. He’s very versatile too. I know the song I did with him is sort of classic, he’s just rapping on a hard ass beat, but he can really sing too. He’s a good songwriter as well.

AllHipHop: How’d you link with G-Eazy?

KBeaZy: That was dope. I don’t have any songs with him but I actually skipped my high school finals to go to a G-Eazy camp. A bunch of producers were there working on stuff for him. He was popping into each room, telling people what he liked, getting ideas. I met him at this bowling event in LA because I flew out over my Christmas break senior year. I met him but obviously he doesn’t remember that.

I skipped my finals and had his manager write me a letter. He f##ked with the fact that I skipped my high school finals to go there. That’s crazy too because I used to listen to him way back in the day. I’ve been to his house, that’s big bro. That was a dope moment. Even though I don’t have any music with him out yet — I might soon, but it was dope. It showed me that if I can earn his respect, I can get it from anyone.

AllHipHop: What about the Juice WRLD record?

KBeaZy: I have a few with him, unreleased. Rest in peace. The whole situation is crazy. I linked up with him through his engineer Max Lord. I never met him in person but I spoke to him 2 times on FaceTime very briefly. The last thing he posted on Instagram 6 days before he passed was a snippet of my beat. It has 20 million views. It’s crazy to me to see one of my favorite artists post me on IG. He’s posted one of our snippets before but he posted a Triller to it, which he doesn’t usually do. I was so hyped. It’s a tragedy. He’s mad talented, not that many artists can do what he does.

AllHipHop: What are some goals yourself as an artist at this point of your career?

KBeaZy: I want to do everything. The game is getting younger and younger nowadays. Artists are 16. Billie Eillish is the most poppin’ artist ever and she just turned 18. Kids are now putting too high of expectations on themselves, so I’m stressing out. Not even stressing but I put such high standards on myself. I have to go Diamond!

AllHipHop: You haven’t gone Diamond yet?

KBeaZy: Nah, but soon. I’m trying to work on producing bigger records. I want to produce songs that people can look back on. I want to drop music myself too, like me featuring artists. I want to show people I can produce everything, not just rap music.

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?

KBeaZy: Stay Fyed Up.
