WATCH: Rapper Pras Wears Full Hazmat Suit To Child Support Hearing

(AllHipHop News) Fugees rap star Pras took no chances with the coronavirus during a paternity hearing earlier today (March 16th).

Pras, who was arrested last week for failing to pay a $20,000 to his ex-girlfriend in a nasty beef over back child support, was in court today more than prepared for the outbreak.

The rapper showed up in Manhattan family court wearing a full hazmat suit “to make sure I’m not exposed and I don’t expose anyone,” Pras told reporters. “Let me step back…”

Pras is accused of owing his ex Angela Severiano over $125,000 for their nine-year-old son, Landon.

He claims he cannot pay because the Feds froze $74 million in his bank accounts, after claiming the money came from a fugitive financier named Jho Low, who is accused of stealing $4.4 billion from an investment fund in Malaysia.

The Feds hit Pras with a four-count indictment in May of 2019, claiming he helped Jho Low illegally donate millions of dollars to President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, using straw donors.

The album that kept Aiko from #1 was Lil Uzi Vert’s album Eternal Atake, which moved 311,000 units.

Jhene Aiko’s 20 track project includes guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Ab-Soul, H.E.R., Big Sean, John Legend, Dr. Chill, Nas, and Miguel.

T.I. Says Prayers Should Replace Worry During Coronavirus Pandemic

(AllHipHop News) Yet again, T.I. presents himself as the rap music’s voice of reason during times of uncertainty and despair.

No… really… forget about that time he said that thing about his wife and the champ and the other time he was joking about his daughter.

For the most part, his voice is steady with a level of digestible wisdom that makes fans feel safe.

This time, it is his saged offering around how we all should respond to the coronavirus pandemic. He took to social media and dropped these jewels:

“Don’t let the mass hysteria of the world (everybody else) make you forget how good God has been to ALL OF US,” T.I. philosophized. “Those of you who feel you can be a person of faith & not have your faith be tested…you’re mistaken,” Harris wrote in the caption.

He added that “PRAYER SHOULD REPLACE YOUR WORRIES” and urged followers to “Take it light.”

Earlier, T.I. applauded Christian rapper Lecrae who offered the community a COVID-19 Data pack. And even in this gesture, he pushed for mental peace in places of communal chaos.

On Instagram he wrote after reposting Lecrae, “Thanks @lecrae Knowledge is POWER & information is EVERYTHING!!! To live in fear is to not live at all!!! Don’t panic. Inform yourself. More information soon to come.”

Indeed the hysteria might even put a monkey wrench in his plans.

According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, T.I. and Killer Mike were working on reopening a restaurant called Bankhead Seafood.

The plans were extensive as they sought to add a rooftop, expand the parking and allow a 130-seat dining experience. It was their hope to open early 2021, but that, like so many other plans, might be placed on pause.

They also planned to launch a scholarship with the HBCU Foundation to be given each year to a grad from their alma mater, Fredrick Douglass High, going to a historically Black college or University.

The scholarship would be a full ride, regardless of whichever HBCU that they have been accepted to.

Young Dolph Talks Coronavirus After Tour With Key Glock Canceled

(AllHipHop News) Well, it seems like “The Rona” done struck more of Hip-Hop’s elite and their ability to secure a major bag one more ‘gain.

In an announcement made by both rappers’ teams, Young Dolph and Key Glock will be postponing the rest of their “Sirius XM Hip-Hop Nation Presents: Young Dolph x Key Glock No Rules Tour.”

The shows are going to be held up because of the swiftly spreading and highly contagious COVID-19 pandemic.

“While me, Glock, Moochie, Kenny Muney, Grovehero, and the entire Paper Route Empire team have had the greatest time on the No Rules Tour, rocking sold out shows and vibing with our fans/family, unfortunately, due to the tragic Coronavirus that’s impacting the world, we have to be responsible and postpone the remaining 6 March tour dates on the No Rules Tour to August,” Young Dolph said. “There’s nothing more important than being safe, healthy and protecting our fans. All tickets will be honored for the new date. Until then, we have a ton of exclusive tour content that’s going up. Be careful and I’ll get with yall in a minute.”

The duo has already experienced a level of success with the concert series, setting over 30 stages on fire.

Still, the two Paper Route Empire rappers will have to reschedule the following six shows: St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Des Moines.

It’s a shame because folk have been coming out, spending their money to see them rock the house.

According to their team, over 42,000 tickets have been sold for this tour. This is undoubtedly directly correlated to Dum & Dummer, Dolph & Glock’s Billboard Top 10-debuting collaborative album. Adding to that is Key Glock’s Yellow Tape release in late-January which jumped on the Billboard 200 at #14.

It’s pretty dope that they understand that the bag is not more important than the health of their fans.

DaniLeigh & Da Baby Release New Video Despite Baby Mama Drama

Da Baby has two beautiful ladies possibly arguing over him.

Word is, DaBaby and singer DaniLeigh have something going on with each other, and his child’s mother, MeMe, ain’t with it.

MeMe sent out a series of subs including calling Dani obsessed and claiming she has her blocked.

https://twitter.com/thefadelady/status/1235328952861896705

Dani responded by telling MeMe to “get a job” and said all of MeMe’s tweets were about her when confronted by a tweeter user about subtweeting.

Well I’m assuming Dani ain’t worried about MeMe and isn’t letting anyone stop her bag, as she just released the visuals to her latest single, “Levi High.”

The two get real close and comfortable as the two try to evade the police.

50 Cent Throws Cash At Strip Club During Coronavirus Outbreak

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent defied calls for people to practice social-distancing amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as he hit up a New York strip club this weekend.

The “In Da Club” hitmaker visited the Starlet’s Gentlemen’s club in Woodside on Saturday night, where he liberally threw dollar bills at dancers onstage, despite America’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) urging people to stay away from public gatherings.

While 50, real name Curtis James Jackson III, was without a mask or gloves at the establishment, he didn’t let fear of contracting Covid-19 stop him from having a good time.

And in footage obtained by TMZ, he was seen having the time of his life when the DJ started playing his own songs.

The outbreak of coronavirus has seen more than 169,000 cases registered worldwide since it began in December, resulting in over 6,500 deaths.

On Monday, New York’s mayor Bill de Blasio ordered restaurants, bars and cafes to only sell food on a takeaway or delivery basis, as the city battles to halt the spread of Covid-19.

He also moved to close nightclubs, cinemas, theaters, and concert venues. Similar precautionary measures have also been implemented in California, Illinois, Ohio, Massachusetts and Washington.

It comes after late-night shows based in the Big Apple, including “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” and “The Wendy Williams Show” went dark last week, with Broadway shows shut down until April 12.

This is how I feel comfortable traveling, if I have to travel.”

(AllHipHop News) The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation into rapper/producer Hitmaka, formerly known as Yung Berg.

The cops are looking into a police report claiming Hitmaka was involved in a verbal dispute with his girlfriend on Saturday morning.

According to documents obtained by TheBlast, the argument went to another level when Hitmaka pulled a gun a pistol-whipped his lady a few times.

The woman was admitted to Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, where she was treated for facial lacerations and a fractured nasal bone.

The victim was granted a restraining order against Hitmaka, born Christian Ward.

He is banned from coming within 100 feet of the woman and is to have no contact with her.

An Instagram account associated with Jamie Foster Brown’s Sister 2 Sister magazine appeared to be the first outlet to report the news about Erica. The IG page posted:

Twenty Eight year old, Erica Supreme Barrier, the daughter of music legend Eric Barrier (Eric B) is in extreme critical condition this morning after a horrific car crash in Connecticut. Omarion On Modern R&B Artists Sampling Old R&B Songs: “I Think It’s Lazy”

(AllHipHop News) Over the last year, musicians like Summer Walker and Tory Lanez heavily drew on Rhythm & Blues songs of the past. Walker’s Over It album borrowed elements from iconic acts like Usher and Destiny’s Child, while Lanez’s Chixtape 5 LP interpolated 2000s-era hits from numerous collaborators.

“I wanted to make something that people from different generations could appreciate and share together. Something that would make us celebrate our happy memories – music to enjoy life to,” explained Tory Lanez on recreating popular records with Chris Brown, T-Pain, Trey Songz, Mýa, and others.

Omarion is also tapping into turn-of-the-century nostalgia with “The Millennium Tour 2020” featuring Bow Wow, Soulja Boy, Ashanti, Ying Yang Twins, Lloyd, Sammie, and Pretty Ricky. However, the B2K founding member is not a big fan of sampling old R&B cuts in order to make modern renditions.

“I think it’s lazy,” said Omarion during an interview for Joe Budden’s Pull Up show. “It’s already difficult, in my personal opinion, to make a great song greater. So if you’re not making the song greater, then the song is kinda like what it was. I think people forget that they’re sampling a great song and they forget to make it even more great which is difficult to do.”

He added, “I think the sentiment of [creating something familiar] is okay… You can’t stifle yourself by having a song that is already famous. Then it’s like, ‘Well, what happens after that song?’ You still have to create music from scratch… ‘You gotta work on your sh*t’ is basically what I’m trying to say. Perfect your art. Continue to grow in your skill.”

Omarion did acknowledge he was featured on Bow Wow’s song “Let Me Hold You” which sampled Luther Vandross’s classic “If Only for One Night” cover from 1985. According to O, their 2005 version was different from the Vandross version because it was made by a singer and a rapper.

The 35-year-old vocalist is planning to release his next full-length project, tentatively titled Passport, later this year. His solo discography already includes the #1 albums O and 21. Omarion also contributed to B2K’s Top 10 projects B2K and Pandemonium!

She captioned the footage, “A meditation and mantra to promote healing during this global crisis. Use at your own pace. Love you!”

In the video, a makeup-free Lizzo sat in front of a tray of crystals and said, “There’s the disease, and then there’s the fear of the disease. Fear can spread so much hatred and negative energy.

“I wanted to empower everyone and let you all know, you have power. We all have power. You have power to eliminate fear. We have the power to reduce the fear that is being heightened.”

“This is a very serious pandemic,” she continued. “This is a very serious thing that we’re all experiencing together. Whether it’s a good thing or a tragic thing – the one thing we will always have is togetherness. We’ll always be connected on this planet.”

Lizzo went on to explain the purpose of her post.

“I wanted to take the time today to do a mass meditation,” she shared.

“Thirty minutes of your time. We’re going to come together and take deep breaths. We’re going to join in agreement and try to eliminate the fear as much as we can while we work together during this trying time.”

Lizzo’s meditation session was shared as Lin-Manuel Miranda debuted a previously-unheard song from his hit Broadway musical “Hamilton” to lift fans’ spirits.

“Wish I could send you peace of mind via this app,” Miranda tweeted about the tune which was cut from Hamilton’s final production.

“Alas. But I can send you music no one’s ever heard. Here’s a cut Hamilton/Washington tune called ‘I Have This Friend.’ No one’s heard it, not even (Hamilton director Thomas) Kail.”

Wu-Tang Clan Promotes Special Acronym Advice On Combating Coronavirus

Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Eternal Atake’ Debuts At No. 1 With The Biggest Streaming Week Of 2020

(AllHipHop News) Even after a delayed release for his sophomore LP, Lil Uzi Vert is still a streaming juggernaut. Eternal Atake opened at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 400 million streams in the US.

That is the largest streaming number since Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V pulled in 433 million plays in 2018. Uzi now sits at #4 on the all-time streaming list behind Drake’s Scorpion (746M), Wayne’s Tha Carter V (433M), and Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys (431M).

Eternal Atake collected a total of 288,000 equivalent album units. 9,000 of those units came from pure album sales. Earlier this year, BTS’ Map of the Soul: 7 started with 422,000 units. That makes EA the second-biggest first-week seller of 2020.

In addition, Jhené Aiko earned the highest-charting album of her career with Chilombo debuting at #2 this week (152,000 units). Megan Thee Stallion’s Suga came in at #10 with 41,000 units. Lil Baby’s My Turn slipped from #1 to #4 in its second week.

Kodak Black Writes a Letter to Fans from Prison

(AllHipHop News) Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, admitted to a gun charge Thursday in a Niagara County court.

The Florida rapper has pleaded guilty to an attempted second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to WKBW Buffalo.

The report states that Kodak is facing two to seven years in prison, but it will be concurrent with his federal gun possession sentence.

The rapper and three other men were arrested back in April at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. Police found four handguns, a loaded magazine cartridge, and marijuana inside of the vehicle the men were riding in. They were reportedly trying to enter the United States from Canada.

The rapper wrote an open letter while behind bars and shared it on his Instagram account.

He discussed his time in prison and some of the struggles he’s experienced, including the alleged removal of his commissary, phone, and email.

Waka Flocka Flame Claims the Coronavirus is “Fake”

(AllHipHop News) Waka Flocka Flame thinks the Coronavirus is fake. The contagious virus labeled COVID-19 has been spreading across the globe over the last few months.

The rapid spread has caused several areas to self-quarantine, to avoid the spread and contain the virus.

The rapper appeared on the Real 92.3 with his wife Tammy Rivera on Friday, March 13 to discuss their new show Waka & Tammy: What the Flocka.

The pair talked about their new show, which airs on WEtv. They also touched on the virus when asked their thoughts about it. Waka said he thinks it’s fake and stated, “minorities can’t catch it.”

He then proceeded to ask the hosts of the Real 92.3 show, The Cruz Show, to name a minority who has caught it. “We all descended from the same persons. Now, did we catch it? It hit the people passing through our airport [Atlanta], it ain’t touch them soulful folks.”

While Waka Flocka Flame doesn’t believe minorities can catch Coronavirus, the facts debunk his theory.

NBA players Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, who are both black, have contracted the virus, squashing his belief.

And Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms just declared a state of emergency in Atlanta over the pandemic.

Check out the interview down below.
