Is That New Big Sean / Metro Boomin Dope Or Dog Food?

(AllHipHop Rumors) People are clearly getting dumber and dumber or just have completely changed their musical tastes. On Twitter they are killing the new album by Big Sean and Metro Boomin. Now, Metro is not getting any flack…its mostly Big Sean. His wordplay doesn’t seem to be going over well for some reason. Here are some of the over-the-time comments.

Not everybody thought it was garbage.

I have not heard it yet, but I am going to give Big Sean the benefit of the doubt since he’s been dope for a long minute. In fact, I am going to listen right now.

Damon Dash Film Produced By Kanye West Lands A Release Date

(AllHipHop News) Former hip-hop mogul Damon Dash has finally secured a 2018 release for a long-gestating movie he executive produced with Kanye West.

“Too Honorable,” a movie starring rapper Cam’ron and actress Stacey Dash, Damon’s cousin, was originally set for distribution in May, 2015, but the launch date came and went without the project surfacing.

Now Damon, who also served as director and co-star, has announced the film has undergone a title change, switching to “Honor Up,” and will be opening in U.S. theaters in February.

Jay-Z’s old business partner shared the news with fans on Instagram on Wednesday, as he unveiled an updated poster for “Honor Up.”

“This is really happening,” he captioned the post. “#HonorUp in theaters February”.

Dash previously directed 2005 crime drama “State Property: Blood On the Streets.”

Eminem Talk 2 Chainz Snub In New Elton John Interview

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Eminem has offered insight into his creative process, explaining why he trashed a new song he cut with 2 Chainz.

Hip-hop star 2 Chainz expressed his dissatisfaction on social media by posting an angry-faced emoji when the tune he recorded with Eminem back in July didn’t feature on the tracklist for new album Revival, the “Without Me” star released on Tuesday.

Some fans suspected a feud may be simmering between the pair, but “The Monster” hitmaker has now explained he simply can’t put a track he isn’t raving about on his albums.

“You’re not going to hit it every single time, and that’s why, when I record an album, I do probably close to 50 songs,” he tells Elton John in a new Interview magazine chat . “Each song I record has to get better. If it’s not better than the last song that I made, it’ll usually linger for a couple of months, and then it’ll be put on the back burner, and then there’ll be another song that I do, and then it often doesn’t make it on the album.”

Eminem went on to admit the vision for a song he imagines in his head often doesn’t sound as good to him when it’s recorded and played back.

“With every song, all the elements have to work,” he shares. “First, the beat has to be great – you start there. You start with the music, and then the ideas follow. Then you start thinking of rhymes, and then you record it, and sometimes – this happens to me a lot – it doesn’t come out as good as it did in my head when I first wrote it.”

“I get excited, and then I get it in there and hear it, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, this is f##king terrible’.” he details.

Eminem boasts appearances from other superstar musicians like Beyonce, Pink, Ed Sheeran and Alicia Keys on Revival, which is slated to reach listeners on December 15.

50 Cent Wins Legal Spat Over TV “Power”

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent has won a legal battle over the concept of his hit TV drama “Power.”

A Los Angeles judge has dismissed the case, which was brought against the rapper and actor by two writers, who claimed the hit series was a rip off of their play, “Dangerous.”

As in the series, the stage work centers on a drug dealer who goes to great lengths to avoid being prosecuted.

According to TMZ, a representative for the court determined the themes explored in “Dangerous” are not unique enough to prove there was copyright infringement.

“One need only look to such shows and movies as ‘The Wire,’ ‘Empire,’ ‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Narcos,’ ‘Weeds,’ ‘Carlito’s Way,’ ‘American Gangster,’ ‘New Jack City,’ ‘Scarface’ and ‘Paid in Full’,” the ruling reads.

50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, stars in and produces the TV crime drama.

Da Brat Now Owes $7.8 Million In Assault Lawsuit

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Da Brat reportedly owes an additional $1.3 million to a waitress she assaulted during a 2007 club altercation after she failed to pay her $6.4 million over the incident.

The “Not Tonight” hitmaker, real name Shawntae Harris, was sued in 2014 by Shayla Stevens, who claimed she suffered permanent facial scarring, neurological impairment, and severe mental pain after she was hit with a bottle at an Atlanta, Georgia club.

Da Brat was ordered to pay Stevens, a former cheerleader for American football team the Atlanta Falcons, a total of $6.4 million in damages for injuries and loss of earnings.

According to TheBlast.com , Stevens has now filed legal documents to register the judgment in California, so she can pursue her property and assets in the state.

The judgment now reportedly totals $7.8 million because of added interest and non-payment.

Jim Jones Says Ma$e Was Never Known For The Murda Mase Persona

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8UtZdpXe-0

(AllHipHop Rumors) Jim Jones, Cam’ron, and Ma$e have certainly been doing their press runs lately.

Although Jim previously stated that he didn’t think that the Ma$e & Cam’ron beef would ever escalate, he did share a message for Ma$e in response to Ma$e’s statement about his beef with Cam’ron ending bad [for Cam if Cam kept going] when he visited The Breakfast Club.

“End bad for who bruh? Like I wanna see how that movie ends bad. You was never known for Murda Ma$e ever in your career. You don’t have no arrests on your rap sheet. You haven’t even been in court at all. What are you talking about it’s gonna end bad? You don’t hang out with no tough guys. Do your music. You just did the record with Puffy and Khaled. I doubt Puffy and Khaled want to associated with the bozoness that you are trying to pull off. That’s not their lane. Your history is your history. The more you get into this the more that people are going to find out who you really are, and it’s not going to turn out to be what you think you are. Rock your fur coats. Do your sh-t. Get busy. You wanna come to Harlem and hang out come on. You wanna play in the basketball tournaments in the summer come on. It’s all love up there we ain’t got no problems with you bruh. I damn sure ain’t got no problems with you bruh, I don’t think you want this anyway bruh. At all. I don’t wanna talk about this; you know my heart starts pumping,” said Jim Jones.

Do you think that Ma$e will really get busy if it comes down to it, or will he just hire some people to handle his dirty work?

Do you think the beef with Ma$e and Cam’ron will escalate, or is it basically already dead?

Timbaland Settles Tax Debt

(AllHipHop News) Timbaland has reportedly settled a tax debt he owed to the U.S. government.

The rapper and music producer and his ex-wife Monique Idlett were hit with a federal tax lien earlier in the year, with court documents from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) claiming that he owed approximately $3.8 million in back taxes.

Documents showed that Timbaland, real name Timothy Mosley, owed money to the IRS from 2012, 2014 and 2015, and he was urged to pay up or risk the organization seizing his property and assets.

But to avoid drama, the hip-hop star has now paid up the money owed, according to reports, which stated the “If We Ever Meet Again” hitmaker paid the balance “in full” and that the lien had been released.

Timbaland has had a turbulent couple of years in regards to his personal life, with Monique filing for divorce for the second time in July 2015.

He also opened up his battles with prescription medication in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine last month, where he claimed that he started taking OxyContin in his 30s for pain stemming from a gunshot wound he suffered as a teenager, and over 15 years he spiraled into a cycle of addiction and depression.

However, the 45-year-old has since been focused on his journey to sobriety, as well as his health, family, and music.

Rapper Kyle Loses Childhood Home To Wildfires

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYG7Q8NYrcc

(AllHipHop News) Rapper/actor Kyle has been left heartbroken after his childhood home was burned to the ground in the California wildfires.

Thousands of residents in the southern counties of the state have been evacuated as firefighters continue to try and contain the blazes, with the Ventura County fire threatening 12,000 structures by Wednesday morning.

Unfortunately, Kyle’s former house was among the more than 100 buildings already destroyed by the out-of-control flames, and he took to Instagram to share his sorrow.

“Just saw the house I grew up in in ashes.. this is so hard to watch,” the 24-year-old captioned a series of images of the wildfires. “Such a beautiful city with so many amazing people who’s lives have been devastated by this fire.

“My neighborhood is in ashes all of my old neighbors and so many more have lost everything. The Ventura county fire department has been working incredibly hard to save the city, but we still have a long fight ahead of us and we all will need to step up and lend a hand to someone in need. Ill be reaching out to a lot of people today for help, to do whatever we can to rebuild the homes and lives of everyone affected. Please pray for my city and everyone in it. I can’t believe this… Stay strong everyone…”

Kyle then encouraged his U.S.-based fans to donate to the Thomas Fire Fund, a collective charity set up by various local officials to help with the relief effort:

“Text UWVC to 41444 and 100% of donations go directly to those affected by the fire,” he added.

U.S. TV drama “S.W.A.T.” was the first show to have filming affected when the threat of damage and poor quality forced producers to send the cast home from a location shoot in Santa Clarita, and the set of “Westworld” was subsequently shut down, too.

(AllHipHop News) Rap heavyweight Rick Ross is launching his first sneaker design with officials at basketball shoe brand Ewing Athletics.

The “Hustlin'” hitmaker has unveiled a revamped version of the Ewing 33-Hi model, which features black suede and matching ostrich leather on the upper shoe, with a gold gum sole.

The sneaker is finished with a red insole, gold eyelets, and the logo for Ross’ Maybach Music Group embroidered on the heel.

The Ewing 33 HI ‘MMG’ will retail at $180 and hit stores next week, just in time for Christmas.

It’s the latest non-music project on Ross’ slate – he recently signed on as a new brand ambassador for luxury watch company Hublot, and he is preparing to debut his own haircare line in the New Year.

The hip-hop star is also building up his acting resume after landing a new role alongside comedian Mike Epps in his new film “The House Next Door.”

Stacey Dash Slams Dame Dash For Using Her To Promote His Film!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Stacey Dash has been cancelled for quite some time, but she caught our attention when she went at her cousin, music mogul Damon Dash, on Twitter.

Dame announced that his new film ‘Honor Up’ would be hitting theaters next spring with a post on Instagram.

We have dismissed the actress and conservative news pundit from our hearts and minds long ago. I actually think Dame has also, but this film apparently was shot some time ago, and the promo featured Stacey Dash.

Dash has reportedly filed a lawsuit to remove all evidence of the film and also took to Twitter to let it be known that she had no contract with Dame or Kanye West’s company for them to use her image or likeness.

“I’m sorry that my cousin Damon Dash is using our family relationship to advertise his movie. I have no written contract with him or Kanye West’s company (who I have had no dealings with at all). No one is authorized to use my name or photograph for “Honor Up,” Stacey tweeted.

You know that anti-black proud Trump supporter Stacey Dash doesn’t want to be associated with any black or urban films. During Dash’s stint as a commentator for Fox News, Dash denounced the need for Black History Month and the BET Awards.

Stacey is a self-hating, brainwashed, delusional tragedy that also needs a mental health evaluation.

I just can’t wait for Dame’s response.

Migos Are Casting Joe Budden & DJ Akademiks Lookalikes For Music Video

(AllHipHop Rumors) Petty Wap!

Quality Control has released their ‘Control The Streets Vol. 1’ project, and before the project was released a snippet of Quavo dissing Joe Budden on a track called “Ice Tray” had already caused much controversy and hilarious commentary on social media.

Apparently Migos have made it clear that they haven’t forgiven Joe for his antics during their interview with Complex’s ‘Everyday Struggle’ at the 2017 BET Awards.

After the snippet of the Budden diss was released, Joe Budden took to Twitter to ask Quavo if he wanted Smoke.

While this generation and the Migos stans were obviously on Quavo’s side, anyone who knows Hip Hop and is honest took the side of Joe Budden.

We all know that Joe Budden would rap circles around any member of the Migos.

Well it looks like Migos are taking their Joe Budden diss to new levels as they are casting Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks lookalikes for a music video they are shooting for the single.

LMAO! This will be hilarious! Carry on!

Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Luv Is Rage 2’ Named SoundCloud’s Top Album Of 2017

(AllHipHop News) Lil Uzi Vert was one of the most honored music acts of 2017. The Philadelphia native earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, and his 4x platinum single “XO Tour Llif3” won the MTV Video Music Award for “Song Of The Summer.”

Uzi’s debut studio LP, Luv Is Rage 2, opened at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 135,000 equivalent units. The project has also earned the distinction of being the 2017 SoundCloud Playback Top Album based on the amount of streams, likes, and reposts.

In addition, the streaming platform named Uzi’s “XO Tour Llif3” the Top Rap/Hip-Hop Track. The Top R&B/Soul Track accolade went to SZA for her Travis Scott collaboration “Love Galore.”

Scott was also included on the list of Buzziest Drops of 2017 for his “Butterfly Effect,” “Green & Purple,” and “A Man” records which hit SoundCloud on May 16. Chance The Rapper releasing “Big B’s” featuring Young Thug on July 15 and BTS releasing “4 o’clock” on July 8 reaped recognition as buzzworthy drops as well.

Hip Hop continued to be a leading genre on SoundCloud throughout 2017. Last month, the company’s new CEO, Kerry Trainor, spoke with AllHipHop about the success of rap acts on the site.

“I think it’s been an incredible few years for Hip Hop in general. We’re excited to be part. SoundCloud’s mission is we’re here to empower creators and give them the tools to build their fan bases and careers on their own terms and connect with a level of immediacy with their fans that’s really only possible through an open platform,” said Trainor.

The SoundCloud Playback referred to Lil Uzi Vert, Post Malone, Kehlani, Khalid, Lil Pump, Marshmello, and Trippie Red as “artists who were on SoundCloud first and owned the internet in 2017.” The streamer also presented Ro Ransom, Melo Makes Music, Cautious Clay, Jori Vague, Mabel, Nilufer Yanya, Lil Wop, Bosco, Cobi, and DNMO as artists to watch in 2018.

“We’re all about being first, and SoundCloud is first for creators in terms of where they bring their art to the world. And it’s first for listeners, in that, if you want to discover what’s really new and coming next in music, you come to SoundCloud. That’s why we’re incredibly excited to see the huge blowout on the charts this year from Lil Uzi and Post Malone,” added Trainor. “The artists that are having so much success now started on the platform years ago. The reason is because SoundCloud is the truly open platform where creators can get their start and connect directly with their audience. It’s unlike any of the other streaming services.”

Lil Pump’s “Gucci Gang” Video Reportedly Upsets Archdiocese Of L.A.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LfJnj66HVQ

(AllHipHop News) “Gucci Gang” by Lil Pump is currently the #4 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and the tune’s video has accumulated over 247 million views on YouTube. While the clip continues to collect numbers, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is apparently bothered by the visuals.

According to TMZ, the Roman Catholic authority is not pleased Pump shot “Gucci Gang” at the Blessed Sacrament School. Representatives of the Archdiocese claim they were unaware of the video’s content or that it would be shot at the location.

The website reports:

A spokesperson for the Archdiocese of L.A. tells TMZ … the school failed to follow filming policy and procedures, which are extremely strict at all of its schools and parishes. The Archdiocese had zero clue Lil Pump would be rolling up to the school’s parking lot in a Lamborghini with a blunt in one hand and double-cupping in the other.

The “Gucci Gang” video features weed smoking, lean drinking, references to cocaine use, and a teacher getting hit with a bag of marijuana. A food fight also breaks out at one point.

Lil Pump released his self-titled mixtape in October. The project includes contributions from Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Lil Yachty, and more.

Diddy Tops The Forbes List Of Highest-Paid Musicians Of 2017

(AllHipHop News) Sean “Diddy” Combs racked up a lot of money between June 1, 2016 and June 1, 2017. According to Forbes, the entertainment mogul made more money than any other music act during that time period.

The publication reports Diddy gained $130 million in pre-tax earnings. That impressive haul was from business income related to the Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour, a Ciroc vodka deal, and the sale of one-third of the Sean John clothing line for an estimated $70 million.

Beyoncé (#2) and Drake’s (#3) respective placements on the Forbes list were also partially the result of live shows. The Formation World Tour helped Bey earn $105 million, and Drizzy made $94 million mostly from the Boy Meets World Tour.

The Weeknd (#4, $92 million) and Coldplay (#5, $88 million) round out the Top 5 for 2017. Other notable musicians that reached the Top 25 include Bruno Mars (#22, $39 million) and Jay-Z (#19, $42 million).

Eminem Addresses White Privilege & Racism On “Untouchable” Single

(AllHipHop News) Eminem displayed his political views during a highly publicized performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards in October. Marshall Mathers’ rhymes were unapologetic disses directed at Donald Trump.

Those cypher bars led to some observers wondering if Em’s latest album, Revival, would be full of songs about social issues. The Shady Records head gave a taste of what to expect with his new single.

On “Untouchable,” Eminem raps about white privilege, racism, and their effects on African-Americans. The track is reminiscent of “White America” which appeared on 2002’s The Eminem Show.

Revival is scheduled for release on December 15.

Big Sean & Metro Boomin’s ‘Double Or Nothing’ Sparks Online Debate

(AllHipHop News) Metro Boomin spent 2017 partnering with Gucci Mane for Droptopwop, 21 Savage and Offset for Without Warning, and NAV for Perfect Timing. The Atlanta-based producer ended the year by making a joint LP with Big Sean called Double Or Nothing.

The album arrived overnight, and it quickly led to a trending conversation on Twitter. Some users blasted Big Sean for what they saw as a lackluster effort. Others defended the Detroit spitter.

Double Or Nothing includes features from Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, 21 Savage, Young Thug, Swae Lee, and Kash Doll. This is Big Sean’s second full project of 2017, following I Decided in February.

Kendrick Lamar Releases ‘DAMN’ Collectors Edition

(AllHipHop News) As 2017 raps up, Kendrick Lamar is offering his fans a special collectors edition of the DAMN album. The new version features the original tracklist in reverse order.

“I think like a week after the album came out, they realized you can listen to the album backward. It plays as a full story and even a better rhythm,” Lamar told MTV in August. “It’s one of my favorite rhythms and tempos within the album. It’s something that we definitely premeditate while we be in the studio.”

He added, “The initial vibe listening from the top all the way to the bottom is just this aggression and this attitude. You know with ‘DNA,’ and exposing who I really am. You listen from the back-end, and it’s almost the duality and the contrast of the intricate Kendrick Lamar. Both of these pieces are who I am.”

Vic Mensa Wants To Play Prince

Rising hip-hop star Vic Mensa has put himself forward as a potential contender to portray Prince in a future biopic about the late music icon.

The “U Mad” rapper is convinced he has the same charm as the tragic singer and would be perfect for the job – even though he currently has no professional acting experience.

“I think I should play Prince in the biopic,” Mensa told online outlet Montreality. “Prince is one of my biggest idols of all time, and he’s the real King of Pop.

“The reason why I’d be able to kill the role as Prince is because I got that mouthpiece. Prince was butter smooth with it and I feel like I could do it.”

Mensa, 24, may have to wait a while for his dream role to come around as there are no present plans to bring Prince back to life on the big screen.

He died from an accidental prescription drug overdose in April, 2016, aged 57.
