(AllHipHop News) In the same week that saw J. Cole join Kendrick Lamar on stage in Detroit, another Midwest city got to experience a special guest during the “Damn Tour.”

Chance The Rapper popped up at the Chicago stop of Lamar’s nationwide trek.

“That’s so much motherf-cking love. So much love that I got to make sure I give it back. Let’s do something special,” Kendrick told the crowd at the United Center.

The hometown hero then appeared to perform his hit record “No Problem.”

A$AP Ferg Declares Kendrick Lamar The Hottest Rapper Right Now (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop has been having a hot summer 17.

Albums by Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, French Montana, DJ Khaled, and 21 Savage control the five highest spots on this week’s Billboard 200 album chart.

The Top 20 of the Hot 100 features singles by Khaled, French, Kendrick, Post Malone, Childish Gambino, Lil Uzi Vert, and Future.

Then there are newcomers like Playboi Carti, Cardi B, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, and YFN Lucci with tracks that are keeping parties lit.

With all the heat rising from the culture at the moment, which performer is seen as being at the head of the class?

According to A$AP Ferg, the answer is clear.

“Kendrick is the hottest,” stated Ferg. “If you think about how complex his musicality [was] on his last album To Pimp A Butterfly – this [DAMN] album is more contemporary. He’s working with today’s sounds.”

The Harlemite also discussed his appreciation for Lamar paying attention to his art and not what happens outside of the creative process.

In addition, Ferg talked about following the moves of K. Dot as well as Hip Hop icon Jay-Z.

“I see those same things in Jay. These type of artists that reach these pinnacles of success, they all have the same traits,” said the A$AP Mob member. “I study a lot of people, everybody who’s great. They just have that militant aura and they take themselves very serious.”

He continued, “I feel like you should take your art real serious. I think a lot of people play with it. I’m trying to preserve the culture and push it forward.”

A$AP Ferg’s current discography includes the studio albums Trap Lord and Always Strive and Prosper.

Rick Ross Addresses Backlash Over His “Insensitive” Comments About Not Signing Women To MMG

(AllHipHop News) Rick Ross found himself in critics’ crosshairs this week after the Miami rapper’s appearance on The Breakfast Club.

The radio show’s Angela Yee asked Rozay why he has not signed a female artist to his Maybach Music Group label.

“I never did it because I always thought I would end up f-cking the female rapper, f-cking the business up. I’m so focused on my business. I got to be honest with you,” Ross responded. “She’s looking good. I’m spending so much money on her photo shoots. I gotta f-ck her a couple of times.”

Some people labeled those comments as “misogynistic” and “sexist,” so the 41-year-old MMG boss addressed the negative reactions in a Facebook post.

Ross wrote:

I want to address an insensitive comment I made on a very sensitive issue, especially in a minority dominated industry like hip hop. My entire empire’s backbone is led by 2 of the strongest people I know and they happen to be women, my mother and sister. The operations wouldn’t run without them and I have the highest regard and respect for women in this industry. I have a daughter myself, my most cherished gift in the world.

My comment is not reflection of my beliefs on the issue. A mistake I regret. I hope to use my mistake, my platform and the community to create positive discussion to implement change on a very important issue. respect for the ones who stand up to say hey that isn’t right. Now it’s time to accept responsibility and all do better.

I look forward to continue working with & supporting female artists. my discovery process was documented by vh1 on #signed which premiered last night. Many of the most talented artists you’ll see in the running to be the next #MMG superstars are female artists. I look forward to clarifying my comments through my support.

Thank you to everyone who’s going through the journey with me, we coming out everyday stronger.

Vic Mensa Discusses ‘The Autobiography’ Album, Addiction, Depression & More (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Four years after his breakout project Innanetape hit the internet, Vic Mensa’s debut studio album is now in stores and on streaming sites.

The Autobiography is Mensa’s 12 track audio memoir covering thoughts on the dark and bright moments from the Chicago native’s life.

“There were certain things I was able to tap into on this album that I had never really been able to vocalize, certain thought processes and emotions that I had never really been able to translate through words,” Mensa told Rolling Stone.

Vic’s 2016 track “There’s Alot Going On” was extremely personal, and his new LP follows suit by further pushing private issues out into the open.

“Anybody who’s dealt with addiction and depression knows that sometimes they can make you forget who you are and kind of bring out a different person, somebody you don’t know as well,” said Mensa in the RS profile. “I just wanted to make music that really spoke to the true me, me as a 12-year-old kid falling in love with Hip Hop.”

The Roc Nation artist also gave a video interview to Ebro Darden of Beats 1.

“I’m really proud of what I put together, and I haven’t really been thinking about whether I’m being appreciated or what other people are thinking about me. I ain’t even caught up in that mental process. I’m here to do what I’m doing,” Mensa told Darden.

He continued, “When all the phones turn off, Twitter ain’t a thing no more, and there’s a new app, new social media, or new meme – years from now when those words don’t matter to us – I know that what I’ve created right now is something that I can be proud of and I can say this is who I am.”

N.O.R.E. Talks Prodigy Mural Being Defaced & Black Hip Hop Media Being Upset With Kendrick Lamar (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Whenever N.O.R.E. sits down for an interview, the audience knows they are about to get some great content.

The emcee-turned-podcaster stopped by The Breakfast Club once again, and the nearly 50-minute discussion covered a bunch of topics.

At one point, N.O.R.E talked about getting a chance to speak with his formal rival Prodigy the day before he passed away in Las Vegas.

The “Superthug” rapper was also asked about the reasoning behind the Mobb Deep member’s commemoration mural repeatedly being defaced.

“It came from a big homie that’s in jail that don’t have nothing,” N.O.R.E. explained. “Prodigy’s book hurt a lot of people – dead, in jail, alive. The guy that’s up north, he’s a respectable guy. He sent the word, and it’s official.”

Later in the interview, the conversation turned to DAMN creator Kendrick Lamar and his relationship with certain media outlets.

“The first time I ever felt part of the media is when Kendrick Lamar’s album came out. It was a secret email going around: ‘Kendrick’s sh-t is the sh-t. Let’s promote Kendrick.’ And then his first interview he did was with [Beats 1’s] Zane Lowe,” said the Drink Champs host. “We get it, but what we got to think is we got to start supporting us. That first interview should have been with somebody black-related, Hip Hop-related.”

N.O.R.E. acknowledged Lowe’s race should not prevent him from doing an interview with Lamar, but he added, “Everybody in black media was a little turned off because Zane Lowe – that’s not the person you think of. You think of Breakfast Club, Power 105, Hot 97, Big Boy, Sway, Drink Champs. Then for it to go to Zane Lowe, I seen the anger.”

Messy Mya’s “Formation” Lawsuit Against Beyonce Will Continue

(AllHipHop News) Beyonce’s lawyers have failed in a bid to have a copyright lawsuit stemming from her hit “Formation” dismissed.

The 2016 track features spoken word segments from the work of the late social media celebrity Messy Mya, real name Anthony Barre.

The funnyman’s estate, led by his sister Angel Barre, filed legal papers in February, demanding royalties, damages and insisting her brother be credited as a writer, composer, producer and artist on the track.

U.S. District Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown denied Beyonce’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit on fair use grounds.

In a 66-page judicial decision, obtained by editors at The Hollywood Reporter, Brown wrote, “Plaintiffs have plausibly alleged in their complaint that Defendants did not change or alter the ‘expressive content or message’ of Anthony Barre’s YouTube videos.”

At this stage of the court case allegations made by the plaintiff are presumed to be true, and the judge found Barre’s lawyers made a plausible case that the song’s use of the clips in which Messy Mya says “What happened at the New Orleans,” and, “B##ch, I’m back by popular demand” did not transform the meaning of the spoken word clips.

Under U.S. copyright law, artists can sample the work of another if they can show their use has substantially changed its meaning.

The judge also denied Beyonce’s attorneys’ motions to dismiss Barre’s complaints of false endorsement and of flouting Louisiana’s Unfair Trade Practices Act claims.

However she did dismiss a claim for unjust enrichment.

“Formation,” the lead single from Beyonce’s critically revered Lemonade album was a hit around the world and the 35-year-old star even performed the track at last year’s Super Bowl event.

Messy Mya, who was also an aspiring rapper, died in 2010 at the age of just 22, after he was shot multiple times in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Romeo Santos Wants To Model His Career Off Jay-Z’s Success

(AllHipHop News) Latin singer Romeo Santos is aiming to emulate the career of Jay-Z after getting to work closely with the rap mogul on his Roc Nation empire.

Santos was appointed the CEO of the label’s Roc Nation Latin imprint last year and has been steadily helping to build up the label’s roster.

His role allows the pop star to watch and learn about how to navigate some of the business and artistry aspects of the music industry from Jay-Z himself, and Santos feels honored to be in such a position.

“I look up to Jay, and he’s exactly what anyone wants to be,” Romeo told RollingStone.com. “He’s not only an amazing MC but also a mogul. Everything he touches (turns to gold). It’s just an honor to be in the same room with this man…

“I’m not only here guiding (as the CEO of Roc Nation Latin), but I’m also learning. Recently I had the opportunity to be in a studio session with him, and I listened to his album (4:44) before it hit the market. I don’t know what I was enjoying more, the actual album – because it’s amazing – or the experience of him speaking to other people highly about me. Those are moments that I value and will worship for the rest of my life.”

Meek Mill Admits Breaking Up With Nicki Minaj Was A Loss!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Considering how messy and controversial Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill’s break up was, I never thought I’d see the day where Meek would go on the radio and profess his love for Nicki.

Meek recently chopped it up with Power 99 Philly and he talked about more than just his ‘Wins & Losses’ project! While at the station he revealed that getting Nicki was a win and losing her certainly was a loss.

Their relationship never felt authentic to me despite how long it lasted. I was also surprised to hear Meek admit that he was once in love with Nicki considering that they still take shots at each other from time-to-time on social media.

“It was a win. I got Nicki when I was… like I came up. I always wanted Nicki my whole life. I use to talk…remember I had the rap about it. I bagged that. So that was a win of course,” said Meek Mill.”

When the interviewer asked him how was breaking up Meek said,

“Of course breaking up with anyone you love is a loss period……It’s so easy to tell the truth now.

Do you think that dating Meek Mill was like dating down for Nicki? How’s Meek’s new album sounding to you?

Angela Renee Combs: Has Blac Chyna Found Her Next Victim?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Y’all know Diddy ain’t going for that!

We can’t trust Blac Chyna with anyone’s son’s heart, okay!

Blac Chyna recently got some attention after putting a heart under one of Diddy’s son’s Instagram posts. People immediately thought Chyna was working on finessing her way from being a Kardashian to a Combs. LOL. She’s definitely the finesse kid.

Christian Combs is a bit young, but then again, all of Blac Chyna’s boyfriends and alleged hook-ups have been questionable.

One thing’s for sure is Puff Daddy isn’t going to go for this, so she may want to try her luck with another celebrity family.

Although Christian has had a longtime girlfriend, he may be secretly flattered.

Look at Chyna trying to get some of that Bad Boy money! Blac Chyna said if she can’t have Diddy, she will take his barely legal clone: his youngest son!

Christian stay away from Chyna, and Chyna don’t you slide in this teenager’s DMs!

Is Dave East Dating This Singer?!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Word on the curb is that rapper Dave East may be dating singer Christina Millian!

If this is true, it certainly won’t last. LOL. Christina is beautiful, but she’s another one of those girls that make you go hmmmmmmmm.

Anyway, the pair were spotted together alone last month, and now Dave posted Christina on his Instagram after they attended a basketball game. He’s allegedly been spending a lot of time with her in LA also.

This is also a little odd because East allegedly was feeling Millian’s best friend.

Well, we aren’t mad at Dave if the two are in fact an item or are at least hooking up. Christina is still a baddie.

Maybe East will have that “Drake thing” where he forms a “hit list” of women to bag that he grew up on. LOL. Carry on!

Vic Mensa Explains How Jay-Z Prevented Him From Dissing Another Rapper On ‘The Autobiography’ Album (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) As an artist on the Roc Nation label, Vic Mensa has access to one of the greatest emcees of all time.

Hip Hop legend Jay-Z has praised his latest protégé, and the mogul played a significant role in the creation of Mensa’s debut studio album The Autobiography.

The SAVEMONEY collective member visited Big Boy’s Neighborhood for a conversation about his project dropping on Friday (July 28).

“Jay-Z was a real part of the album and an executive producer on the album as somebody that really helped me shape and mold my narrative into something cohesive and consistent,” explained Mensa.

Hov also advised Vic to hold back on some likely controversy-inducing lyrics about another performer.

“There was a situation where I had a line that was kind of dissing somebody else, and it wasn’t really necessary. I just wanted it cause it was a good bar,” Mensa revealed.

He later explained he was still considering keeping the disrespectful lines on The Autobiography until he considered Jay telling him, “Do you, but what you’re doing won’t work out in your favor because your heart is not in it. The universe only works one way.”

The Chicago-raised rhymer eventually chose to remove the lyric.

“I was dissing another rapper really for no reason. That kind of shifted my perspective,” said Mensa. “I don’t need to be tearing down another young, black man, regardless if I like the music or not. We have so much opposition outside of our community, trying to eat off of us and parasites just trying to feed off our energy, there’s no need for us to be tearing each other down. We gotta be more unified than that.”

Earlier this year, Vic Mensa made headlines in the rap media world after he dissed Lil Yachty at a University of Cincinnati concert.

During an April interview with The Breakfast Club, Yachty spoke about Vic blasting him so publicly.

“I wasn’t upset. I just didn’t understand it, because I met him twice and he dapped me up. That’s the only time I’ve ever met him,” stated Yachty.

Tiny’s Relative Weighs In On Bernice Burgos’ Breakfast Club Interview

(AllHipHop Rumors) Tiny’s niece is all of us!

Many people are still wondering how Bernice Burgos ended up being a guest on The Breakfast Club.

Like she had to have been a filler guest because no one else can make sense of her booking other than the men in Hip Hop she’s allegedly been linked to. But hey, folks do want to know about that.

Bernice denied the rumors about her involvement with T.I. and Drake, and not only were people not buying what she was selling, folks also felt that she revealed that she’s a bit “slow” and ignorant.

It would’ve been great if she was beauty and brains!

According to Bernice, she was never messing with Tip, and she was just around him because she was introduced to him on business with the potential of her being cast for some movie.

Bernice also said that the reason she went at Tiny is because she let social media accusations feed her mind with craziness and insults leading to her acting out.

The girl is in her mid 30’s, so many felt that she is too old to be this inarticulate.

Tiny and her family have made it very clear that they are not fans of the alleged home wrecker!

While Tiny hasn’t really responded to Bernice’s Breakfast Club interview, her niece @_beatifulrose basically said what many were thinking,

“She sounded ignorant.”

According to social media, baby girl has to stop buying cars and surgeries and focus on getting her education. 99.9% of the people who have viewed the interview agree with Tiny’s cousin! If you haven’t checked out the interview yet, do so and let us know your thoughts!

Kim and Kanye Expecting Another Child via a Surrogate

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are reportedly set to become parents again early next year thanks to a surrogate.

The 36-year-old mom-of-two has been vocal about expanding her family, but health issues mean carrying and birthing a child are risky, so the reality TV star has turned to a surrogate, according to multiple reports.

A source tells Us Weekly a San Diego, California mother in her late 20s is three months pregnant with the couple’s third child, who is due in January.

The unnamed woman is an experienced surrogate, who has appeared in a promotional video about the process.

According to TMZ, Kim and Kanye have agreed to hand over $45,000 when the child is born in addition to the $69,000 deposit they’ve handed over to agency bosses who set up the surrogacy.

Kardashian has chosen not to carry her third child after suffering placenta accreta, a potentially life-threatening condition where the placenta remains attached inside the uterus after birth, while she was expecting daughter North and son Saint.

She was warned by doctors following her last birth that another pregnancy could be life-threatening.

Kim’s mom Kris Jenner has offered to serve as her surrogate and her sister Khloe has also visited a doctor to see if she was a viable candidate.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN) who helped deliver Beyonce’s twins last month was the same doctor who treated Kim when she gave birth to North in 2013 and son Saint in 2015.

Dr. Paul Crane also delivered Kourtney Kardashian’s three children, as well as her brother Rob’s little girl Dream with his ex-fiancee Blac Chyna last year.
