Chance The Rapper Cancels European Tour Dates

(AllHipHop News) European fans of Chance The Rapper will not be able to catch the Grammy winner at scheduled festivals this summer.

Consequence Of Sound reports Chance has canceled dates at Norway’s Oya Festival, Belgium’s Pukkelpop, Denmark’s Haven, and Sweden’s Way Out West Festival.

Way Out West released the following statement:

It is with regret that Chance the Rapper has to cancel his upcoming performance at Way Out West and his European festival tour in August. This is due to scheduling conflicts beyond his control. Chance sends his apologies to his fans and looks forward to returning to Europe soon.

Chance is still on track for his North American tour dates.

The Chicago emcee’s next stops on the “Be Encouraged Tour” are set for Denver on May 3 and Dallas on May 5.

Funk Flex Claims To Reveal The Truth About 2Pac Shooting; Lil Cease Co-Signs (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Funkmaster Flex used his social media accounts to address a 23-year-old incident – the infamous robbery ambush of Tupac Shakur at Quad Recording Studios.

In an Instagram Live video captured by LevelUpHipHop, Flex can be heard speaking on the 1994 shooting in New York City.

The Hot 97 radio personality claimed that 2Pac saw some individuals in the lobby that tried to confront him, got nervous, and then accidentally shot himself.

Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s Lil Cease responded to Flex in the video’s comment section.

Cease stated, “He resisted! From what I know… and I heard he reached for this joint and pop himself 1st by mistake.”

The Brooklyn-raised rapper later returned to Instagram to clarify he did no intend to “speak negative of Tupac or anybody dead.”

There had been reports that Pac shot himself prior to Flex and Cease’s statements.

Flex further addressed the Pac shooting in a separate IG post.

He wrote:

They was never going to shoot him.. he was suppose to run the jewels… he panicked shot himself…. then went on a Biggie campaign… ( he knew why it was happening) yes I dislike him for that… yes I feel a way… because I know the truth… we all knew the truth…. 2Pac supposedly blamed The Notorious B.I.G., Junior M.A.F.I.A, Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, and James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond for the Quad attack.

Convicted criminal Dexter Issacs accused Rosemond of paying him $2,500 to rob Pac at the Quad studio.

However, Rosemond has insisted he was not the mastermind behind the ’94 assault.

Rosemond sued the Los Angeles Times for publishing false allegations believed to be partially based on Issacs as a source.

The newspaper was forced to retract the article and apologize to Rosemond.

Biggie and Combs also denied being involved in the shooting.

The NYPD never made any arrests in connection with the theft and assault committed against 2Pac.

The vision for the video portrayed the lyrics so well, with people turning up and enjoying life. The release of the video couldn’t have come at a better time. Music today is missing what Imani Scott is bringing with Get Litty. That feel good music! Imani has expressed before how music today promotes being numb, and not caring about anything.

In the video you see Imani at a backyard BBQ with friends and family enjoying themselves. Although the song references hitting the city, the video shows that a good time can take place anywhere. Imani even showed her admiration for the The Brady Brunch in a creative way. Overall, the video is a wonderful representation of what the world needs right now. Akon Facing $150 Million Lawsuit By Former Business Partner Devyne Stephens

(AllHipHop News) Devyne Stephens is reportedly suing his former business partner Akon over unpaid fees.

According to TMZ, Stephens wants $150 million from the singer/businessman.

The website reports:

Stephens is the music exec who famously helped launch Akon’s career, and his Konvict Music label — and in a new lawsuit he says he’s supposed to be getting 40% of everything Akon’s earned since 2006. He says their contract gives him a cut of record sales, touring rights, royalties and more.

Figures posted by TMZ suggest Akon has made close to $400 million over the last decade.

Stephens is the founder of Upfront Megatainment, and he once worked at LaFace Records.

The Atlanta native is credited with contributing to the careers of Usher, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, T-Pain, and other artists.

Nick Cannon’s Childhood Friend Shot and Killed In San Diego

(AllHipHop News) Nick Cannon is in mourning after his childhood friend was killed in a mass shooting in San Diego, California on Sunday.

Monique Clark and six others were shot when gunman Peter Selis opened fire in the swimming pool area of an apartment complex where they were having a party.

She later passed away in hospital.

The U.S. TV host took to Instagram to share a throwback photograph seemingly showing him and Monique as children on Tuesday morning (May 2) and to write an emotional tribute.

“My heart hurts with great sadness tonight,” he wrote. “I just learned that the one life lost in the senseless and tragic mass shooting in San Diego was my childhood friend, who was more like family, Miss Monique Clark.

“Such a beautiful spirit with an infectious smile. I have nothing but wonderful memories of this Angel. Tears can’t express the pain and shock. A mother of 3, a sister, a daughter, a cousin, a friend and a Queen… Rest in Paradise.”

Police officers responding to the scene shot the gunman, who was reportedly “despondent” over his love life, when he reportedly aimed his weapon at them.

Lil Wayne Shouts Out Wayne Newton Ahead Of New Las Vegas Residency

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Wayne is heading to Las Vegas for a run of shows.

The “Lollipop” hitmaker has booked a residency at Drai’s Beachclub and Nightclub in the The Cromwell Las Vegas Hotel & Casino later this month.

Additional concerts will take place in June, July, September, and October.

The gig at the luxury hotel and casino follows his concert at the venue in March.

“My first night at Drai’s was magical. I’m happy we created a partnership for me to come tear down the stage at the best club in Vegas!!” a statement from the rapper reads. “(Entertainer) Wayne Newton put his stamp on Sin City, now its time for the next Wayne to do the same!”

The 34-year-old follows in the footsteps of other rappers, including Future, Big Sean, Rae Sremmurd, and Fabolous, who have performed at the club.

Raekwon Announces 40-City “The Wild Tour 2017”

(AllHipHop News) Raekwon is hitting the road this summer for “The Wild Tour 2017.”

The 40-city trek begins in June at New York City’s Governors Ball.

Raekwon will join his Wu-Tang Clan brethren at the Manhattan festival.

“The Wild Tour” is in support of The Chef’s critically acclaimed 2017 independent album The Wild.

“I look at today’s industry as being a jungle. There are different rules. Me being out in the wild for so long and looking at what it is today, it’s just different,” Raekwon told AllHipHop about his seventh solo LP. “All that I’m doing is expressing myself in the greatest way to let people know that I still get busy on the mic, I can still swing around this jungle and still be the king at what I do.”

Trouble In Paradise? Kanye West Ditches Met Gala!

As you know, there are always rumors swirling about Kanye West and Kim Kardashian allegedly being on the brink of separation or divorce. A lot of the chatter usually blames the alleged marriage troubles on the strain of disagreements, Ye’ breakdowns, and Kim K’s Parisian robbery.

Last night when celebrities made debuts on the Met Gala red carpet, one thing that was obvious was a noticeably missing Kanye West, especially since Kim K was in the building.

Sources had just tipped E! News off informing them that Kanye would allegedly not be attending the event. Fans and attendees were still shocked to see that he actually wasn’t there.

“Kanye will not be attending the Met Gala and will be staying in L.A. with their kids. He and Kim are doing fine. He has been taking time off and is totally supportive of Kim attending,” an insider told E!.

Another source claims that Ye intended to go to the event but changed his mind.

“He was planning on attending and recently decided he did not want to go. He and Kim are fine. He will be in Los Angeles,” said the second source.

Sources close to the couple claim that all is well with the couple, and there is no trouble in paradise. The question is do we believe them? Heck we want most couples to win, so we hope they work it out!.

You know Yeezy is probably trying to stay in the house as much as he can also since he’s been rumored to be paranoid and wearing bullet proof vests though.

The Game Wants $13 Million From Viacom Over Sexual Assault

(AllHipHop News) The Game is taking Viacom media bosses to court after he lost a $7.1 million sexual assault lawsuit brought against the rapper by a contestant on his dating reality show.

Contestant Priscilla Rainey filed a $10 million suit against the Dreams star in August, 2015, claiming she was assaulted while filming a scene in a Los Angeles bar for “She’s Got Game,” in which women competed for the MC’s affection.

The Game, real name Jayceon Taylor, denied the accusations, but he lost the case in November after health issues kept him from attending the trial.

His last-minute request for a postponement was denied and a default judgment was handed down in Rainey’s favor.

He is currently appealing the ruling, but now The Game has filed legal papers of his own against officials at Viacom, the parent company of network VH1, on which “She’s Got Game” aired.

According to TMZ.com, the rapper alleges Rainey should never have been allowed on the show because she had a long criminal history, including felony arrests for aggravated battery, and was even highlighted by a doctor working on the production as a possible troublemaker.

“In moments of jealousy, (Rainey’s) normal composure dissolves, leaving her to acting out of control,” reads the doctor’s report, which was included in The Game’s lawsuit.

The hip-hop star alleges show bosses ignored the advice and hired Rainey to add a little drama to the show, which she was eventually booted from, before going public with her accusations against The Game.

He is now demanding Viacom chiefs cover the costs of the default judgment, and award him another $13 million in damages for putting him in the situation.

First Week Sales Predictions For Wale’s “Shine” Are In

(AllHipHop News) Wale returned last week with his latest music effort Shine.

HitsDailyDouble crunched the numbers and has now published the first-week sales predictions for the MMG rapper’s fifth studio album.

Shine is set to open with between 18,000 to 22,000 sales plus streaming units.

The LP is expected to land on the SPS chart behind other new projects from Gorillaz (95-100k), Mary J. Blige (67-72k), John Mellencamp (32-35k), and Willie Nelson (31-33k).

Wale’s previous album, 2015’s The Album About Nothing, landed at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 100,245 album-equivalent units.

Rocko Asks Judge To Reach Into Future’s Pocket For Tour Money In New Lawsuit

(AllHipHop News) Rapper and producer Rocko has asked a judge to force Future to put money aside to cover the potential costs of their ongoing breach of contract dispute.

Rocko, real name Rodney Ramone Hill, Jr., launched legal action last summer, accusing the “Jumpman” hitmaker of breaking the terms of their contract after signing Future to his A1 Recordings label in 2011.

The deal allegedly required Future to record his first six albums with the company, but he allegedly made a side deal with Epic Records executives, who distributed his music, and earned himself millions in advances while reportedly leaving Rocko out of the picture.

Future has denied the accusations, claiming his deal with A1 was not exclusive, and he filed a countersuit in September.

As the legal proceedings rumble on, Rocko has expressed concern about Future’s spending habits, and he wants Ciara’s ex to put some of his salary from his upcoming tour in escrow in the event of his victory in his $10 million lawsuit.

According to TMZ.com, the A1 Recordings boss estimates Future is set to earn more than $5 million from the “Nobody Safe” trek, which begins later this month.

The judge overseeing the case has yet to rule on the request.

Chris Rock Takes Over Pandora’s 90’s Hip Hop Station With Songs By 2Pac, Biggie & More

(AllHipHop News) For those unaware, Chris Rock is a Hip Hop Head.

From CB4 to Top Five, Rock has incorporated the culture into his creative work.

The legendary comedian has now partnered with Pandora to create a playlist of 1990’s era Hip Hop hits.

All three coasts are represented on the station with music by 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Jay Z, DMX, Dr. Dre, Bell Biv Devoe, and more.

Rock also adds comedic commentary between the songs.

In addition, Pandora listeners will have access to a pre-sale for Rock’s “Total Blackout” tour.

Starting on May 5, users can buy tickets one day ahead of the general sale scheduled for May 6th.

“Tonight, I am announcing that I, Chris Rock, am going on tour. The Total Blackout tour is coming to your town in 2017,” said Rock in a Facebook Live video posted last December. “First time in nine years, haven’t done it in a while. Been a little busy, you know, writing Pootie Tang 3 and everything. But hey, it’s time.”

Travis Scott Fan Critically Injured After Jumping From The Balcony; Cops Investigating

(AllHipHop News) A Travis Scott fan was hospitalized after falling from a balcony at the rapper’s New York City concert last night (May 1).

The hip-hop star was performing at Terminal 5 nightclub when he encouraged a different fan to jump off the first floor balcony, assuring him that the crowd below would catch him.

Video footage posted on Twitter showed Travis telling the fan, “They gon’ (sic) catch you, don’t be scared” before he jumped and was caught by the crowd.

Another gig goer wasn’t so lucky, and was severely injured falling from a higher balcony, with another video posted on Twitter showing the injured fan being carried out of the concert.

A spokesperson for the rapper told Pitchfork.com the injured party was taken to hospital and the incident is now being investigated.

“The safety of everyone is held in the highest regard and we are currently conducting an internal investigation to ensure that this does not happen again,” a statement from Travis’ representative reads. “We are deeply concerned about the guest who was injured and intend to offer him our support.”

According to the representative, Travis’ team are in contact with the fan in question and will be updated on his condition. Meanwhile, the investigation is apparently set to look into whether the concert goer jumped or was pushed off the balcony.

Jay Z Facing Lawsuit Over Using Roc Nation Logo On MLB Merchandise

(AllHipHop News) Jay Z’s Roc Nation is being sued for using the company’s logo on Major League Baseball merchandise.

TMZ reports documents filed by Iconix Brand Group claim the brand management company paid $204 million for the RN logo.

Apparently, Iconix took issue with Roc Nation’s supposedly unapproved MLB hats, shirts, and hoodies sporting the image.

The New York-based business is reportedly seeking at least $10 million and other damages from Jay, Roc Nation, MLB, New Era, Lids, and the San Francisco Giants.

According to its website, Iconix has over 1,100 licenses with brands such as Ecko Unlimited, Ed Hardy, Rocawear, Starter, and Zoo York.
