(AllHipHop News) Yeezy season will be upon us in a couple of weeks. Kanye West used his revived Twitter page to announce he has new music on the way.

First, Ye tweeted “my album is 7 songs” which was followed by a tweet that simply read “June 1st.” The Chicago-bred performer then shared that he’s also collaborating with Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi for a joint project.

“me and Cudi album June 8th,” posted Kanye. “it’s called Kids See Ghost. That’s the name of our group.”

There have been rumors for months that the two Midwesterners were secretly recording together. Last August, reports circulated that Kanye and Cudi connected in Japan to make tracks.

Mescudi was heavily involved in the creation of Kanye’s 2008 LP 808s & Heartbreak. The Cleveland rhymer also contributed to “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1” off 2016’s The Life of Pablo.

Cudi’s discography is filled with guests features from his G.O.O.D Music mentor. Ye also produced several songs for the “Make Her Say” rhymer.

Previously, Kanye West teamed with Jay-Z for Watch the Throne. Kid Cudi’s last solo body of work was Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ in 2016.

(AllHipHop News) Imprisoned rap star DMX is making good use of his time behind bars.

According to reports, DMX is still at Metropolitan Correctional Center, awaiting a transfer to FCI Danbury to serve out his sentence.

The rapper has been receiving hundreds of letters, notes, and drawings from fans.

DMX is also reportedly fielding offers to write a book, and do a movie on his life.

The rapper, born Earl Simmons, was sentenced to a year in prison for purposely dodging over $1.7 million dollars in taxes.

Many people believed DMX would be serving a longer sentence since he violated the terms of his bail multiple times.

But the judge presiding over the case called DMX a “good man” and then handed the rapper his prison time.

He won’t be completely free, as he will still have to abide by the terms of his supervised, three-year probation sentence.

(AllHipHop News) Mobb Deep is facing a lawsuit from their former managers alleging they owe at least $500,000 in unpaid expenses.

Bosses at Buck 50 Productions claim they oversaw the careers of members Prodigy and Havoc from 2010 until the former’s death at the age of 42 last year.

The management firm’s lawyers state they are owed for tour booking costs, as well as payment for recording and endorsement deals they arranged.

They claim Mobb Deep also haven’t paid back advances on future projects – with the bill coming to more than $500,000 in total.

Prodigy, real name Albert Johnson, passed away in June, just days after he was hospitalized following a concert in Las Vegas for complications linked to his life-long sickle cell anemia battle.

He was found unconscious at his home hours after choking while eating an egg.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Kodak Black is thankful for his “blessing in disguise” prison sentence.

The hip-hop star, real name Dieuson Octave, was sentenced to serve a year behind bars after he was slapped with a number of felony counts following a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team raid on the Florida home he was sharing with friends in January.

Several of the initial charges were dropped and on Tuesday Kodak pleaded guilty to two probation violations, including driving on a suspended license and associating with people committing crimes.

The rapper was sentenced to 364 days in jail, with 90 days credited for the time he had already spent in custody following his arrest in January.

As a result, he could be released by October and will not have to face anymore probation if his behavior behind bars is exemplary, and the 20-year-old is now thanking God and his lawyer for his good fortune.

But the rap star still has another legal woe hanging over him – he is also facing prosecution for first-degree criminal sexual conduct after allegedly assaulting a teenage girl at a South Carolina hotel following a concert in 2016.

He was indicted by a grand jury in October and freed on bail on December 1.

Kodak faces up to 30 years behind bars if convicted in that case.

Starboy’s mission is to save Alphatron and the comic book follows the titular hero as he goes toe-to-toe against cannibalistic criminal mastermind Jack “The Chef” Smiley. Eric Nguyen and Guru-eFX brought the art to life, while The Weeknd personally penned the story alongside La Mar Taylor, Christos Gage, and the teams at Marvel. His new comic book creation joins the ranks of other Marvel Comics heroes, including “Black Panther,” “Iron Man,” “Captain America,” and “Deadpool.” The first issue of “The Weeknd Presents: Starboy” will be available on June 13.

(AllHipHop News) Nelly’s rape accuser has subpoenaed his girlfriend Shantel Jackson after accusing her of lying for the rapper.

Monique Greene, 25, claims the “Country Grammar” rapper forced himself upon her during an encounter on his tour bus after a gig in Washington – accusations he has vehemently denied.

Nelly, 43, was arrested in October, but the criminal case against him was dropped in December after Greene declined to testify.

She later launched her own defamation and sexual assault suits against the star, and he then countersued, claiming that they had sex but that it was consensual.

Greene then filed documents asking the judge to dismiss Nelly’s countersuit because her statements were true and protected by U.S. freedom of speech laws.

In another filing, Greene accused Nelly’s girlfriend of falsely corroborating his alibi to “further his defamation campaign” against her.

She’s now subpoenaed Jackson and asked her to produce “all photographs, receipts, social media posts, airline tickets, bus tickets, phone records and other documents regarding her whereabouts on June 8, 9, 10, 2016; October 5, 6, 7, 2017 and December 4, 5, 6, 2017.”

Greene also wants Jackson’s deposition to be videotaped.

Other requests in Greene’s filing include requests for Nelly to turn over “his tax returns, list of alleged witnesses on the dates of the alleged sexual assaults, a list of all sexual encounters Nelly had with fans in his dressing rooms, tour buses, and hotels at the three locations of the incidents described in the lawsuit, all documents relating to any accusation against him relating to a nonconsensual sexual encounter in the past 10 years and for documents relating to Shantel Jackson’s travel during the incidents.”

However, Nelly has objected to turning over the documents, saying that Greene is jeopardizing his privacy and that of his business associates by asking for too much information.

A judge has yet to rule.

Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku inked a deal with Roc Nation and making him the first Premier League player to sign with the agency.

Roc Nation will handle all of the global commercial opportunities for Lukaku, who signed with Manchester United in 2017, in a deal worth over $100 million U.S. dollars.

TMZ caught Ye in California with The Breakfast Club‘s Charlamagne Tha God. CTG discussed his meeting with the G.O.O.D. Music founder on this morning’s radio show.

Charlamagne admitted Kanye played him some new music, and he also recalled a conversation they had about J. Cole. According to the influential media personality, West felt the fellow Jay-Z protégé has been taking shots at him on multiple records.

Back in 2016, many Hip Hop listeners believed the first verse of Cole’s “False Prophets” was about Ye. CTG told his audience that Kanye also felt lines from “No Role Modelz” off 2014 Forest Hills Drive were about him as well.

Kanye posted a run of tweets where he gave readers a glimpse of what they can expect from the upcoming book.

Today’s tweets seem to suggest Kanye will be writing his book on his social media account.

“This is my book that I’m writing in real time. No publisher or publicist will tell me what to put where or how many pages to write,” Kanye West said. “This is not a financial opportunity this is an innate need to be expressive.”

Last week, news broke Kanye was writing the book, which he initially said would focus on human being’s fascination with photographs.

The initial batch of tweets offered readers interesting, positive advice on how to wake up positive in the morning, in addition to offering up some tips on how to deal with competition.

The flick, which is being directed by Josh Trank, features an all-star cast including Kyle MacLachlan, Matt Dillon, Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini and others.

According to Josh Trank, he has been a fan of the rapper since his teenage years as a fan of his group Company Flow and El-P’s legendary Def Jux hip-hop label.

“Since I was fourteen years old, El-P’s music has been one of the most important creative influences in my life,” Josh Trank explained. “There’s literally no greater honor for me than to collaborate with him today and bear witness to this next stage of his artistic journey.”

Principal photography on “Fonzo” started in New Orleans on April 2.

(AllHipHop News) A landmark venue in the New York music scene will close down thanks to soaring rent prices in the city.

Over the years, B.B. King’s Blues Club & Grill has hosted thousands of hip-hop performances.

Now, the owners of the venue have tapped some famous rappers to help close the establishment.

The proprietors have announced B.B. King’s Blues Club & Grill will host its final show at the Time Square location on April 29th.

The venue will be closing down after 18 years in business because the partners cannot afford the Times Square location anymore.

“It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share that after 18 wonderful years bringing you live performances by some of the most talented names in music and entertainment, we have announced our final run of shows in the current Times Square location,” a statement said. “As a result of escalating rent, we are being forced to close our doors at the end of April.”

A series of farewell final concerts will take place at B.B. King’s prepares to close, in search of a new, less expensive venue in Manhattan.

Rick Ross will hit the stage on April 23, while Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh and Special Guests will perform on April 25.

Both stars are up for Top Artist, competing against Drake, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars, who has landed 14 nominations.

Rapper Post Malone, who was one of the highlights of last weekend’s Coachella festival, defiantly firing back at critics who have called him a one-hit wonder, from the stage, is up for 12 awards, while rockers Imagine Dragons have landed 10 nods.

Other multiple nominees include Justin Bieber and Cardi B, who are tied with eight apiece, Despacito hitmakers Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, Swift, Chris Stapleton, and Linkin Park, who are still recovering from the death of their frontman Chester Bennington last year.

Among the top categories, Cardi B will face off with 21 Savage, Camila Cabello, Khalid and Kodak Black for Top New Artist, and she will also battle Camila Cabello, Halsey, Demi Lovato, and Swift for the Top Female Artist Prize.

Drake, Kendrick, Mars, Sheeran, and Post Malone are the nominees for Top Male Artist.
