Big Sean Explains His Inspiration Behind ‘I Decided’ Concept Album

(AllHipHop News) Big Sean is looking to start off 2017 with a new collection of work.

The Detroit-raised entertainer’s I Decided album is scheduled for release on February 3.

Entertainment Weekly caught up with Sean to get some insight behind the inspiration for the forthcoming studio LP from the G.O.O.D. Music representative.

“I [told my friend], ‘Sometimes I feel like I was an old man and didn’t succeed in life and asked for a second chance, and this is my second chance,'” said Sean. “He was like, ‘Make that the album.’ People who can be inspired by it, that’s who I’m doing it for. Everybody else can f-ck off or whatever.”

According to the publication, I Decided will be a concept album centered around the idea of rebirth.

The project’s direction was partially motivated by Sean visiting a Motown exhibit with his mom and the legendary label’s founder Berry Gordy.

Motown icons Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and the Temptations’ tendency to move people to have a good time and do better through their music stuck with Sean.

He added, “I’m happy we are delivering something unexpected. I’m excited to push the culture and push my artistry to the limit.”

The 28-year-old rhymer has already released the singles “Bounce Back” and “Moves” from I Decided.

Sean’s next LP is now available for pre-order through various outlets as well as Spotify’s exclusive “pre-save” platform.

I Decided merchandise can be purchased now too.

Earlier this year, Big Sean partnered with R&B singer Jhené Aiko for the lovers-themed Twenty88.

His last solo album was 2015’s Dark Sky Paradise.

Talib Kweli Discusses Older Artists Learning From Lil Yachty, 21 Savage & Ugly God (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) One of the big rap stories of 2016 was the growing divide between the older generation and the newer stars of the genre.

Rich Homie Quan, Young Thug, Young Dolph, Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, and other 2010’s rappers found themselves in the crosshairs of Hip Hop old heads at some point during the year.

Veteran emcee Talib Kweli sat down with DJ Vlad to talk about the changes happening in Hip Hop culture and the music industry in general.

Kweli discussed his age group actually gaining something about the shifting musical landscape by paying attention to the new era performers.

“Older artists, traditional artists, and legacy artists have to learn from newer artists, learn from the 21 Savages, Lil Yachtys, and Ugly Gods,” stated Kweli. “People get confused by thinking you gotta like or relate to the music.”

The Brooklyn native added, “They dismiss the movement along with the music. You can’t dismiss the movement because you gotta respect an artist getting their sh-t out there like that. You gotta respect it, if you’re an artist.”

Kweli also defended Hip Hop vets such as Lord Jamar, R.A. the Rugged Man, and Pete Rock sharing their opinions on younger rappers.

After the video interview was released, Kweli responded to critics of his position on Twitter.

“If these old rappers think they sh-t is so much more doper than what’s out, get it out. Stop b-tching,” wrote the “Get By” spitter.

Groupie Tells It All about “Nasty Nas”!

They mystery woman says Nas loves his black women especially the brown and “chocolate ones.” Oh yea, he allegedly has a f##########.

The lady claims that the two have gotten it on sexually, but she can’t get flown out to indulge more because of her hectic work schedule. She did say that Nas is very freaky and kinky, and he turned her out by having her do things she’s never done before.

“He enjoys the single life. He loves giving and recieving head. He ate my p#### from the front and back for like 30 minutes. I rode his face as well. He told me he usually don’t put the tongue down on the first night because its brutal and causes strong feelings. HIS MOUTH IS DEFINTELY BRUTAL,” said the groupie.

While the woman was telling it all across the internet, she went on to say he’s very sweet, but the jealous type. According to her, he likes to eat a lot, and he doesn’t view himself as a sex symbol, so he’s not concerned about a six pack.

Mr. Jones is said to be a big kid who loves video games and any and everything old school. Escobar also allegedly thinks both of his baby mamas are crazy b-tches according to the woman.

Well ladies, you can also shoot your shot because Nasty Nas also allegedly falls into temptation.

Watch Teenagers React To Tupac Shakur’s Music (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Tupac Shakur is undeniably a legendary cultural figure.

The platinum-selling emcee’s place in music history will be further cemented when 2Pac is enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame next year.

A biopic about Pac is scheduled to arrive in 2017 as well.

While the late West Coast representative is an icon to the generation that came of age during the 1990’s, what do Millennials think of him?

Fine Brothers Entertainment spoke with a group of teenagers about Pac and his music.

Classic songs like “Brenda’s Got A Baby,” “I Get Around,” “Dear Mama,” “California Love,” and “Hit ‘Em Up” were played for the teens to get their reactions.

FBE has also had its various casts react to music by Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Macklemore, Wiz Khalifa, and more music acts.

TDE Co-Prez Punch Recaps The Label’s 2016, Says Jay Rock’s Next Album Is Almost Done

(AllHipHop News) Top Dawg Entertainment had another huge year in 2016.

It began with Kendrick Lamar winning five Grammy awards in February.

Then TDE head Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith announced the label was on pace to release projects from Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, SZA, Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock.

Four of those artists did drop new bodies of work.

The world also got something from the newest Top Dawg Entertainment signee Lance Skiiiwalker and a mysterious second neophyte.

But SZA and Jay Rock were not among the TDE acts to let loose a project in ’16.

Top Dawg Co-President Terrence “Punch” Henderson took to Twitter to reflect on his company’s last twelve months.

He also gave an update on the follow-ups to SZA’s 2014 EP Z and Rock’s 2015 album 90059.

“SZA quit and blamed me lol (kidding). Watch when her album comes. I’m extremely proud of her growth and this record. Amazing,” wrote Punch. “Jay Rock got in a dirt bike accident being a true project baby lol. I joke but it could’ve been bad. He’s great and his album is almost done.”

In addition, Punch hinted he may be ready to release some of his own music in the near future.

“Oh. I’ve been recording too. Lol. No for real this time,” added the music executive/rapper.

This year Punch appeared on Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered and Ab-Soul’s Do What Thou Wilt.

DatPiff Announces “Major” Surprise Release For New Year’s Eve

(AllHipHop News) The third quarter has been stacked with new releases from some of the most celebrated rap stars in the business.

Childish Gambino, J. Cole, Ab-Soul, Gucci Mane, The Lox, Kid Cudi, T.I., Yasiin Bey, Run The Jewels, and others dropped albums over the last month.

According to Datpiff, fans should expect another big project to hit the internet on New Year’s Eve.

Of course, fans began speculating which rapper was set to drop something new.

Kanye West Gives Pusha T A Gold Chain For His Unwavering Support

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West treated rapper Pusha T to a special gift this Christmas – a gold chain bearing his zodiac sign.

The “Stronger” hitmaker struggled with health issues in the weeks leading up to the holidays, but it seems he still managed to squeeze in a little Christmas shopping, and his list included a thoughtful piece of jewelry for his close friend.

Pusha T, who was appointed president of Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label last year (2015), took to social media to show off the delicate chain and pendant, which was engraved with an image of a Taurus and presented in a black velvet box with a matching tag reading, “From Kanye.”

“Taurus, the second sign of the zodiac, is all about reward,” he captioned the photo. “Taurus loves the rewards of the game… thanx (sic) @kanyewest”.

The Clipse star has been a strong source of support for Kanye after he canceled the remainder of his Saint Pablo Tour dates in late November and was hospitalized for a mental evaluation.

Kanye was reportedly treated for exhaustion and sleep deprivation, before he was discharged earlier this month to continue his recovery at his Los Angeles home with his wife Kim Kardashian and their two young children.

While he was under doctors’ care, he was reportedly eager to return to making music, and Pusha reached out to his mentor online and suggested they head back to Hawaii to do just that as he marked the sixth anniversary of Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album.

“6 yrs (years) ago today I was apart (sic) of one of the greatest hip hop albums ever,” he wrote beside a picture of the cover art.

He went on to recall how Kanye invited him to Hawaii to work on the tracks and helped him grow to be “the solo artist I never saw myself as.”

“So on the 6th anniversary of MBDTF and as the President of your label G.O.O.D. music I wanna say thanx (sic) for the endless opportunities you have brought to me,” he added. “P.S. I think it’s time we all head back to Hawaii @kanyewest ::whenever you ready:: #GOOD.”

Uncle Murda Officially Signs With 50 Cent’s G-Unit

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent has added a new artist to his G-Unit roster, with the signing of Brooklyn rapper, Uncle Murda.

Earlier in the week, 50 hinted at a collaboration with Uncle Murda on his Instagram page, and now their plans to work together have been fully revealed.

The pair made the signing announcement last night (December 29th), at Club Lust in Brooklyn, New York during a joint appearance.

The signing caps off a busy, controversial year for Uncle Murda.

In 2016, Uncle Murda released a steady stream of music, including songs like “Thot” with featuring fellow Brooklynite, Young M.A and Dios Moreno in addition to his “Yellow Tape” mixtape with Maino.

Uncle Murda also has a new podcast “Brooklyn Boys” which will launch on a soon to be announced major network.

He also made headlines, due to his close close proximity to a deadly shooting at a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza in May, which left Troy Ave and three other people wounded, while Troy’s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter was killed.

Uncle Murda is now part of a roster that includes G-Unit (50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and Kidd Kidd), and Rotimi.

T.I. Reportedly Attempting To Stop Divorce From Tiny

(AllHipHop News) Recently, news broke that longtime couple Tip “T.I.” Harris and Tameka “Tiny” Harris were headed for divorce.

According to TMZ, T.I. is looking to stop the marriage from falling apart.

The website reports:

Sources close to T.I. tell TMZ he thinks Tiny has overreacted because they’ve always gotten through rough patches in their 15-year relationship. He waited a few weeks so she could cool down after filing divorce docs, but now he’s trying talk “sense” into her … that they’re good together.

T.I. believes Tiny was pushed by “jealous friends” into filing to end their marriage.

Tiny filed for divorce on December 7, and she is supposedly seeking alimony, child support, and legal physical custody of their three children.

However, both performers did spend time together with their family during the holiday season.

Meek Mill’s Side Chick Is Telling It All!

According to Meek’s side bae, she is p##### off because she was supposed to be Meek’s only side b-tch. She expresses that she is upset about the big booty Meek posted on his Instagram because it’s not her.

She goes on to say he allegedly gave her a timeline on how he and Nicki’s relationship was going to pan out. The woman claims the relationship is completely contrived so that both Nicki and Meek could make money off of it, and so that our favorite Barb doesn’t look like she needs Safaree.

The scorned woman felt it necessary to let it be known that Meek allegedly doesn’t pay his artists either. She claims that although Meek did a bit of pillow talking, the only thing she got out of it about Nicki was that she has an attitude.

This woman is definitely seeking attention and publicity as she wants to create speculation about who she is before finally revealing herself.

Well, she definitely claims that Meek was smashing as she says she met him at Aces NY over the summer, but Meek didn’t start hitting that until the fall.

Hmmmmmmmmm did you always think that Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill’s relationship was one big publicity stunt?

Run-DMC Sues Wal-Mart and Amazon For $50 Million

(AllHipHop News) Run-DMC is defending their famous logo from counterfeiters in a new $50 million lawsuit aimed at two of the world’s biggest retailers.

Reps for the famous rap group’s new clothing line filed the huge lawsuit against Wal-Mart and Amazon for selling a variety of knock off products with the iconic Run-DMC logo.

The claims there are a variety of bootleg products being sold through both of the retailers, including T-shirts, hats, wallets and other items.

Back in October, Run-DMC announced their “RUN-CTY” line licensed apparel featuring the group’s legendary logo with Fanatics, a global leader for officially licensed sports merchandise.

The group is expected to rollout their new line around the world in 2017.

Reps for the Run-DMC brand are seeking at least $50 million in damages according to the lawsuit.
