(AllHipHop News) On the title track off There’s Alot Going On, Vic Mensa addressed being in the middle of a label bidding war between Kanye West and Jay-Z. The Chicago native ultimately decided to sign with Hov’s Roc Nation, and his choice apparently caused a rift in The Throne.

Jay and Ye would later have a very public spat that played out on concert stages as well as the 4:44 album. During an interview with Montreality, Mensa was asked about the tension between the two Hip Hop giants.

“Nobody likes it. I don’t think they like it. That’s the delicate thing about male ego. All relationships go through that – male, female, ego driven or not,” responded Mensa. “Relationships go through strain and the real relationships live past it, as I believe Kanye and Hov’s relationship one hundred percent has, and will.”

Vic continued, “I’m not speaking from a place of even knowing that much about the situation. I think they’re all good though.”

Jay-Z recently spoke with the New York Times about the status of his relationship with Kanye. The Brooklyn-bred emcee expressed that he believes the longtime collaborators will get past their differences.

“I [talked to] Kanye the other day, just to tell him, like, he’s my brother. I love Kanye. I do. It’s a complicated relationship with us,” said Jay.

Vic Mensa’s discussion with Montreality also included him talking about wanting to play Prince in a biopic. He referred to the late musical icon as “the real King of Pop.”

#MotorSportVideo became a top trending topic on Twitter early Thursday morning. Most of the social media comments were reactions to Nicki Minaj and Cardi B’s respective performances and fashion styles.

Currently, “MotorSport” sits in the #17 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The single is expected to appear on Migos’ forthcoming Culture II album.

(AllHipHop News) The money keeps rolling in for Chance the Rapper’s nonprofit, SocialWorks.

The rapper surprised a group of 5th graders at Adam Clayton Powell Jr. in Chicago with a $1,500,000 donation courtesy of Google.org.

Chance popped up during Computer Science Education Week to announce the huge donation.

“Our grant with Google.org helps SocialWorks provide programming that sheds light on another pathway to success for young Chicagoans,” said Justin Cunningham, Executive Director of SocialWorks.

“While every student doesn’t need to become a computer scientist, understanding the basics empowers them to understand the world they live in,” Cunningham added. “The opportunity to help kids code to share their music, artwork, and distinct point of view is at the core of our mission and an experience we look forward to providing in classrooms across the city.”  

According to Google, the grant will help teachers implement computer science and arts curriculum in their classrooms, and it builds on $40 million in Google.org grants that provide opportunities for students underrepresented in computer science to explore the field.

$500,000 of the donation will go to Chicago Public Schools’ CS4All Initiative and the other $1 million to SocialWorks.

“We’re honored to support SocialWorks’ mission to help underrepresented students in Chicago reach their full potential, as well as Chicago Public Schools’ efforts to turn computer science into a pathway for creative expression,” said Justin Steele, Google.org’s Principal. “There’s so much talent and creativity in the communities that these schools serve-and Chance The Rapper embodies what can happen when that creativity is unleashed. With exposure to computer science, students can use technology to turn their creative passions-whether that’s art, writing, music or something else-into something bigger.”

(AllHipHop News) Lil Wayne took to the internet today December 6), to announce the release of his highly anticipated new project “Dedication 6.”

Wayne will maximize the holiday season by delivering the release with DJ Drama, on Christmas Day.

The last time Wayne released an installment in the long running “Dedication” series was back in 2013.

“Dedication 5” featured guest appearances from Future, Kidd Kidd, Chance the Rapper, T.I. and others.

The “Way Life Goes” hitmaker announced dates for his A Very Uzi Christmas Tour online with the seven-day trek kicking off in Washington, D.C. on December 15 and making stops in California, New York, and Boston, Massachusetts, before wrapping in his hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 22.

The news may come as a surprise to fans as Lil Uzi Vert had previously scrapped his 16*29 Tour with Carti, just a day after they released the show details in October.

(AllHipHop News) Many Hip Hop fans have been waiting years for a joint project from Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. While it appears that effort may never happen, the platinum-selling emcees will appear together on Jeezy’s forthcoming album Pressure.

Jeezy revealed the LP’s tracklist, and the song “American Dream” will feature Jermaine and K. Dot. The two stars previously teamed up for Cole’s “Forbidden Fruit” and DJ Khaled’s “They Ready” (with Big K.R.I.T.). In addition, “HiiiPoWeR” off Kendrick’s Section.80 was produced by J. Cole.

(AllHipHop News) Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms reportedly edged out Independent candidate Mary Norwood in the Atlanta mayoral runoff election on Tuesday night. The highly publicized contest was decided by just over 750 votes.

With that razor-thin margin, Norwood has called for a recount, but Bottoms has declared herself the winner. Some famous residents of ATL already took to social media to congratulate the city council member.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Flavor Flav is turning to his fans to raise money for his upcoming Las Vegas-based variety show.

Last month, Flav announced some major plans for “‘Flavor Flav’s Vegas,” and now he wants to control as much as the project as possible, hence the need to turn to Kickstarter to raise funds.

“Right now times are crazy. We need new voices and there are a lot of voices that need to be heard,” Flavor said. “On ‘Flavor Flav’s Vegas,’ expect interviews with your favorite celebrities from music, television, movies, sports, visual arts, and social media. Also expect to meet new voices, and to be reunited with famous voices from the past.”

“Flavor Flav’s Vegas” will feature celebrities, participating in comedy sketches, exploring visual arts and Flavor occasionally jamming with musical guests.

Anyone who helps Flav reach his goal of $150,000, can expect several unique rewards from The Public Enemy co-founder.

For pledges of $150, supporters can receive one of the 12 x 12 prints on wood signed by Flavor Flav.
