Instagram has been dominating the social media game especially after implementing “Instagram Stories” this past summer which generally mimics Snapchat’s platform. Today, Berna (@HeyBerna) from the Insta communications team went “live” for an intimate digital crowd of 50 people, including myself, to demonstrate the newest feature and drop info on some of the updates happening in Instagram today as well as the coming weeks.
LIVE: As of today, a select group of people (mainly content creators and influencers) can go live directly from their story on an interface that is essentially Periscope. It will appear in your story feed with the “LIVE” indicator across the broadcaster’s photo to signify an active live broadcast. Users can broadcast up to an hour but can immediately hop back on live to start another hour long live session, although these live cast can not be replayed or saved. Berna assured today’s viewers that this feature will be available to all users after the completion of a successful test run in select markets.
DISAPPEARING PHOTO AND VIDEO MESSAGES: Another eerily similar Snap influence feature rolls out today as Insta now offers the option to send photos and videos in direct messages that vanish after a few seconds.
EXPECTED UPDATES: Instagram has promised that we will see more creative (Snapchat-like) features in the coming months, as early as a couple weeks, such as filters, location tags and more.
Stay tuned for news on updates and always, follow me and say hi! – @AshleyMarietta
Big name rappers like Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Lady of Rage check in during Kurupt’s “Unsung” episode, which premieres this Wednesday (November 23) at 8:00PM.
E-40 and DJ-trio Cash Cash joined forces Saturday night at Marquee Nightclub in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for a special edition of “Make That Cash Cash”. The rapper took to the stage and performed a set of his top hits before taking in the party from his VIP table as Cash Cash kept the night going behind the DJ booth.
Also in the crowd was boxing and wrestling announcer Michael Buffer who at one point took to the stage, got on the mic and gave his legendary line of “let’s get ready to rumble” which had the entire crowd cheering.
At TAO in The Venetian, “Real Housewives of New York City” star Ramona Singer had dinner with seven of her friends. The group dined on the satay of seabass amongst other TAO favorites.
Upstairs at TAO Nightclub, “Ballers” actor Omar Benson Miller joined the party and hung out in the DJ booth with Eric Dlux. At Miller’s VIP table was former NFL stars Melvin Fowler.

(AllHipHop Rumors) Although “Do You Mind” shot to No. 1 on the rhythmic charts yesterday, the performance of the hit single last night at the AMA Awards was a bit awkward.
When an artist gets accused of lip synching it stirs up all kinds of slander and controversy, so R&B singer August Alsina definitely felt the wrath during and after the performance.
August took to his Instagram to provide some clarity in his live American Music Awards performance.
August explained that the award show had his mic turned off preventing him from singing live. He expressed his frustration with rehearsing all week, then to go radio silent on stage.
The AMAs had him hot as he posted two posts about it,
“When yo mic ain’t on so you just do the #mannequinchallenge in front of 11millon viewers at the #lipsyncparty AKA the AMA’s ? … Yeah, that part ??,” said Alsina.
Hell it looks like everyone’s mic was off except DJ Khaled’s. It definitely seemed clear that Nicki Minaj was lip synching. How mad would you be to attend rehearsal and have to lip sync that joint! Carry on.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Uh oh! It looks like Drizzy Drake is definitely feeling himself!
Either Drake was trying to promote his fake Jamaican side again or he’s definitely coming for Kanye West’s head with some more shots.
It appeared that Drake took shots at the fellow rapper on Instagram after he took home three awards at the 2016 American Music Awards.
Although some of the rappers will throw a rock and hide their hand, Drake included, it seemed like Drake was telling Ye to stop crying and focus on making music.
As you know Kanye West has been notorious for his rants every other night on his ‘Saint Pablo’ tour. We knew it was going to be a crazy sh-t show of rants overshadowing the music from the time Yeezy Yeezy extended the tour.
Once Drake’s comment under a post of DJ Khaled congratulating him spread, fans quickly expressed the belief that this was a major shot fired at Mr. West.
Mr. Aubrey Graham had a good night which was reflective of a good year as he took home the awards for Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop, Favorite Album – Rap/Hip-Hop, and Favorite Song – Rap/Hip-Hop. So you know the man was on one. LOL
Yall know Drake is still not over Kanye accusing him and Khaled of manipulating airplay for their collaboration “For Free” earlier this week.
(AllHipHop News) Donald Trump will not be receiving an apology from Brandon Victor Dixon, the star of “Hamilton,” who publicly address Vice-President elect Mike Pence, during a performance of the play on Broadway on Friday (November 18).
Dixon appeared on “CBS This Morning” earlier today (November 21) and said “there was nothing to apologize for” in response to condemnation from President-Elect Donald Trump.
“On a regular basis, political figures, celebrities, people who want to come to the show, we know they’re coming, they know that it’s an option that they can come back and speak with the cast,” Dixon told “CBS In The Morning.” “They can talk to us, take pictures, so he [Mike Pence] could have absolutely done that, and if he was unaware at the time, I say to him ‘Vice-President elect Mike Pence, please, come have a conversation with us.” Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays Aaron Burr, offered up a message to Mike Pence on behalf of the cast members of Hamilton on November 18.
“We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir,” Dixon told Mike Pence. “But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us.”
Donald Trump took to Twitter twice over the weekend to address the cast of “Hamilton” for publicly “embarrassing” Pence and demanded the cast and the theater “apologize.”
While Donald Trump may be waiting for an apology, Mike Pence seems to be a little more thick skinned than the 45th President of The United States, who hit back at the cast on Twitter again, calling the Hip-Hop play, which won 11 Tony Awards, “overrated.”
“I heard the remarks that were made at the end and, you know, I wasn’t offended by what was said,” Mike Pence told CBS News.
The cast and producers of Hamilton, which I hear is highly overrated, should immediately apologize to Mike Pence for their terrible behavior
(AllHipHop Rumors) Uncle Snoop Dogg has the best weed-smoking commentary on the planet, and the Doggfather didn’t dissappoint when it came to giving his thought’s on Kanye West’s recent rant!
Snoop couldn’t believe Ye was still doing all of that talking well ranting after only performing two songs.
At this point, we think everyone is wondering is it mental health, drugs, or both?
“I can’t believe he still talking. I smoke weed. Weed don’t make you do that. What the f**k is he on,” asked Snoop.
Kanye also had to feel the wrath of Beyonce’s Beyhive as he went in on Bey, Jay Z, Hillary Clinton, and mainstream radio. Kanye really upset the hive when he accused the Queen Bey of joining forces with MTV to rig the VMAs.
“Beyoncé, I was hurt because I heard that you said you wouldn’t perform unless you won Video of the Year over me and over “Hotline Bling,” Now don’t go trying to diss Beyoncé. She is great. Taylor Swift is great. We are all great people. We are all people. But sometimes we be playing the politics too much and forgetting who we are just to win. F**k winning. F**k looking cool. F**k being cool,” ranted Kanye.
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Wayne’s lawsuit against producer Birdman has reportedly suffered another setback.
Wayne filed a $51 million lawsuit against his Cash Money Records boss in early 2015 accusing his former mentor of withholding money he was allegedly owed for his album Tha Carter V, which remains unreleased.
Now, TMZ reports that a source close to both parties claims lawyers acting for the musicians were close to reaching a deal on their $51 million lawsuit.
Wayne also shouted “Suck my d##k!” at the same show and subsequently a source tells the news outlet that Wayne’s latest outburst has prompted Birdman to pull the plug on a meeting which was hoped would finally resolve the lawsuit.
(AllHipHop Features)Many Hip Hop devotees remember the first album that turned them into an unabashed follower of the culture. For Rey “Renegade El Rey” Oliver, Nas’ I Am… did more than make him a rap fan. The 1999 LP inspired him to actually step into the booth.
“Nas made me feel his point of view, and I wanted people to feel mine,” says Rey.
The German-born, Tennessee-raised rapper was first exciting crowds as a wide receiver. Rey spent time on the University of Memphis football team, but he later began taking recording arts classes at Full Sail University.
After leaving the Orlando area institution, Rey became an unpaid intern at the famous Stankonia Studios in Atlanta. His engineering mentor John Frye decided to move on from the space, and Renegade then became the studio manager for the house OutKast built.
Stankonia opened up the chance for Rey to work behind the boards for Big Boi, Killer Mike, Future, T.I., J. Cole, Janelle Monae, and many more. In 2010, the talented southerner also added founder of Southern Eagle Music Group to his LinkedIn profile.
Increasing his company’s service clientele as well as crafting his own tunes are part of Renegade El Rey’s plans for the future. AllHipHop.com caught up with the budding entrepreneur to take part in the “Three Questions” interview series.
What’s one of your most memorable moments with Big Boi?
I would have to say going on his “Shoes For Running” tour with him and Killer Mike as an artist would be the most memorable. To be able to travel from city to city performing in front of people who have never heard of me and have them embrace my music the way they did meant a lot to me.
What is one fact about Renegade El Rey the artist that most people may not know?
Many people think that I’m an engineer that decided to rap. When actually I’m an emcee that decided to be an engineer. I needed a way out of Memphis and needed to add value to myself, so going to Full Sail to be an audio engineer did just that for me.
Your song “Yeah Yeah” references 8Ball & MJG’s “Lay It Down.” If you could only listen to three of their songs for the rest of your life, which songs would you pick?
I would have to pick “Paid Dues” featuring my big brother CeeLo Goodie. It just has always given me that “grind through the BS” feel, even to this day. “Don’t Flex” because it’s on some hype and laid back sh-t at the same time. And as a young wild youth in Memphis, that’s how I grew up feeling. [laughs] Real sh-t.
“Daylight” because in Memphis, we all hustle hard for that dollar, and that record will always resonate with the hustler in me. It’s a real grind type of song. “Sho Nuff” featuring Tela, because I still remember the first time it came out and got everybody grooving. Even though I was just a kid, it still made a huge impression on me. My bad man. I couldn’t just name three. [laughs] It’s Ball and G!
(AllHipHop Rumors) Bow Wow is certainly a regular at taking “L’s” man!
Bow Wow and Soulja Boy are two peas in a pod we swear.
Social media is the place where everyone, especially rappers, like to flex, when oftentimes the flexing posts could’ve been left completely out.
Bow Wow took to Twitter to claim he had a suite to watch the Atlanta Falcons game over the weekend. The only problem was the Falcons weren’t actually playing as it was a bye week for the team.
Well according to Bow’s flex-gone-wrong, if he really got the dates mixed up, he should still have his suite when the games start back. But…. everyone believes he was lying and just trying to flex hard.
We are convinced Bow Wow doesn’t have any people around him that really love him. He keeps getting roasted and keeps taking the losses. Bow you have to do better man. This is embarrassing for ya!
(AllHipHop News) Live Nation just issued a statement confirming that the rest of the tour dates on Kanye West’s “Saint Pablo Tour” are history.
The statement from Live Nation comes after Kanye inexplicably halted his show in Sacramento after three songs and delivered an extended rant about Jay Z, Beyonce, Donald Trump and the media, drawing boos from angry patrons who streamed out of the venue angry over his antics.
“The remaining dates on the Saint Pablo Tour have been cancelled. Tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase.”
Last night, a make-up show in Los Angeles was axed just hours before its start time.
This will impact fans in a number of major markets, including Dallas, Houston, Orlando, two dates in Philadelphia and another in Detroit.

Sean Paul dropped by Power 105.1, to discuss his Jamaican roots, as well as his views on other artists releasing Caribbean music.
You may recall back in September, when Sean blasted Drake and Justin Bieber for being cultural vultures for using their sounds to create pop hits, without giving the proper credit to the islands that created the sound in the first place.
(AllHipHop News) Rick Ross has announced he will be dropping a new album titled Rather You Than Me.
The rapper hit the red carpet at The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles during the 2016 AMA Awards last night (November 20) and promoted the release, by wearing a black sweatshirt emblazoned with the words “Rather You Than Me.”
The album will be Rick Ross’ ninth official studio album, and his first release since signing a new deal with Epic Records in 2016.
Ricky Rozay also promoted the new release on his social media pages. On his Instagram page, he promised “bloodshed” for 2017 and dropped a teaser to promote Rather You Than Me.
(AllHipHop News) Don’t call it a comeback, but A Tribe Called Quest has the most popular album in the country for the first time in two decades.
We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service lands at #1 on the Billboard 200with 135,000 equivalent album units.
ATCQ’s first-week totals include 112,000 traditional album sales.
The last time the legendary Hip Hop group topped the album chart was in 1996 when Beats, Rhymes and Life made it into the pole position.
That 20 year and three months interval gives A Tribe Called Quest the record for the longest span between top-selling albums for a Hip Hop act.
Jeezy just broke the record two weeks ago when Trap Or Die 3 became the Atlanta rapper’s first #1 album since The Recession in 2008 – a gap of eight years and two months.
We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service was the first release from ATCQ since the death of founding member Phife Dawg.
It is expected to be the final LP from the New York-based collective.
Legendary Rap duo Camp Lo and Legendary music producer Skibeatz gear up to drop their new album On The Way Uptown. The Camp Lo Demo’s a nostalgic walk back into the late 90’s before the release of their debut album Uptown Saturday Night. Camp Lo & Skibeatz release the visuals for a “Piece of the Action” as the first release from the forthcoming album.
