50 Cent & Cam’ron Link Up, Jim Jones Takes Another Shot At Cam’ron

Dipset leader Cam’ron & G-Unit boss 50 Cent certainly have had social media talking as the two recently connected almost a decade after the two engaged in short-lived rap beef. 50 & Cam took to their Instagram accounts to post photos of each other hanging out.

Cam even co-signed 50’s show ‘Power’, and 50 jokingly said,

“Cam I would talk to you like you ain’t got money if I didn’t see them big a-s knots in ya pockets.”

It seems like everyone wasn’t excited for the unity as Jim Jones commented under 50’s post saying,

“Lol lol life is funny aint it he still a bird.”

Remember Jim Jones & Cam still haven’t completely made up, and Jim Jones is still in his feelings about Cam’ron having him blocked on social media.

Fans wondered as to why Jim Jones wasn’t on the stage when Drake brought out Cam’ron and Juelz Santana at his NYC Summer Sixteen tour stop. Jim Jones made it clear that fans shouldn’t worry because he was definitely in the building.

It was good to see Cam and 50 together. Cam said a few years back that he didn’t have a problem with 50, and that their beef just happened to be good for Hip Hop. We all know as petty as 50 Cent is, this could’ve been stretched out even longer.

Future Talks The Wizard & Ceaser Lee Alter Egos, Gives His Definition Of Pure Love

(AllHipHop News) Love him or hate him, but Future has been one of the most successful rappers over the last 2 years.

That time period has seen the Freebandz leader earn his first three #1 albums which made him the fastest Hip Hop act to reach that milestone.

MTV followed Future during his “Purple Reign” tour and footage from the trek has been compiled into a 10-minute documentary.

The Atlanta representative was interviewed for a feature article for MTV News as well. The in-depth piece includes Future discussing his alter egos known as The Wizard and Caesar Lee.

“The Wizard is me,”  stated Future. “[My uncle OG Double D] named me the Wizard ’cause he always say I got the answers for everything. I’m gonna find a way to figure it out — that’s what the Wizard do, go back to my crystal ball and come back with these different ideas.”

As far as Caesar Lee, Future added, “Caesar Lee, that’s the ladies’ man. The charmer… He’s rare. You’ll fall in love with Caesar Lee. Let me just say that.”

After going through a very tumultuous breakup with ex-fiancee Ciara and naming his pre-Valentine’s Day album EVOL, there may be an impression that Future is not big on love. But F. Hendrix pushed back against that idea.

“Artificial love is like Kool-Aid,” he offered. “It’s water, and then you pour something in it and it turn different colors. Pure love is authentic, organic. I love you for your soul, I love you for the person that you are, I love you for your conversations and nothing else.”

Future went on to explain he is not interested in showcasing his relationship on Instagram. The self-described rock star continued, “I don’t want that love. It’s cool to do that, but that’s not the love that’s gonna stick with me forever. I want the love that I can never forget.”

Watch MTV’s Future documentary below.

After you strip away all his alter egos, this is Future at his realest and rawest.

(AllHipHop News) International superstar Will Smith was recently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to promote his new film Suicide Squad.

During a press event in the country, Smith spoke about U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump. The rapper-actor approached the Republican businessman’s controversial candidacy as a possible positive outcome for America.

“As painful as it is to hear Donald Trump talk and as embarrassing as it is as an American to hear him talk, I think it’s good,” said the man once known as The Fresh Prince. “We get to know who people are and now we get to cleanse it out of our country.”

His appearance in the Muslim nation also included Smith speaking on the issue of prejudice against followers of Islam. Trump had called for a ban against Muslims entering the United States.

“In terms of Islamophobia in America, for me, that’s why it’s important to show up,” stated Smith. “I’m in Dubai and I’m having fun. I’m tweeting and showing pictures – ‘Hey, it doesn’t look like they hate me, does it?”

Get Familiar With Clay James, The ATL Artist Co-Signed By Big Boi & Snoop Dogg

(AllHipHop Features) Atlanta is currently regarded by some as the “Capital of the South.” Before the locale became a major American hub for business and culture, Savannah was once the seat of power for the state of Georgia.

Both Atlanta and Savannah have a history closely tied to music and art. It is from that dual creative tradition that Clay James emerges. The rising rapper was born in ATL, raised in the coastal town, and later returned to his birthplace where he attended Georgia State University.

James’ time at GSU was spent studying business management and marketing, pledging Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and promoting parties. It was during one of Clay’s “Blissful Thursday” events that he became acquainted with Clark Atlanta University student Hamilton “Messiah Da Rapper” Freeman.

As a popular student in his own right, Freeman’s personality meshed well with the Kappa from across town. Clay’s’ frat brothers convinced him to try his hand at crafting lyrics and he eventually joined forces with Messiah Da Rapper under the banner of Southern Playas.

Clay’s talent would later catch the attention of fellow Savannah-to-Atlanta transplant Big Boi of OutKast. Yet another Hip Hop legend, Snoop Dogg, got wind of his work after DoggyStyle Records affiliates such as Yung Zeke and Ju Da Truth were impressed with a performance at the 2016 SXSW Festival.

A few exchanges with the label’s A&R executive Pocket Norwood and the success of his “Southern Playa Sh-t” single led to James signing an album deal with Snoop’s DoggysStyle. There is also talk of a possible joint venture with Big Boi’s record company.

With the full-hearted backing of two veteran industry insiders, Clay James is on track to make a major mark in the Atlanta Hip Hop scene and beyond. Get to know the up-and-coming entertainer and devoted fashion head in this exclusive AllHipHop.com interview.

How did growing up in Savannah and also living in Atlanta influence the music that you make?

It gave me the best of both worlds. Now that I’ve lived in the country and the city, I’m able to tell the tale of two cities. I’m able to give you that story of a rural kid and that story of a city kid.

At this point, I’ve spent just as much time in Atlanta that I have in Savannah. It just gave me more things to touch on that more people can relate to. I’m not just one-sided.

You have an Atlanta/Savannah background. That’s very similar to Big Boi’s background. He’s embraced you as a protégé. What have you learned from working with him?

He always tells me that all this other stuff – the fame, money, and BS that comes with being in the game – all that stuff is secondary to the music. Nobody would be f-cking with you if the music wasn’t good.

He always makes me keep that in perspective and not fall into a lane of being content making the “commercial sound” coming out of the city. [He tells me to] just be myself and always put the music before everything.

The thing I learned from him is to be a hustler, get your money, and get it as many ways as possible. Just because you rap doesn’t mean you just have to be a rapper. Diversify your market.

Big business minus the business suits feat. @therealbigboi ?: @southernplayas

A video posted by CLAY JAMES (@whoisclayjames) on

Being part of an Atlanta-based Hip Hop duo is going to draw comparisons to OutKast. Especially since you are named Southern Playas which is connected to OutKast’s debut album [Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik]. Do you and Messiah embrace that comparison?

Yeah, we embrace it. We went back to a Savannah studio and we made the song “Southern Playa Sh-t.” When we came back up to Atlanta and started performing it, fans and bloggers started calling us Southern Playas. When people started calling us that, we were like, “Okay, yeah. That is cool. Southern Playas, that’s dope.”

Once people started calling us that and it clicked, we said, “Okay, we’re doing our solo thing, but let’s do the group thing too.” This is something that came about organically and people liked it. Big Boi and them love that sh-t because they know it’s not forced. It was just something that happened.

Some people may think, “This guy just signed to Snoop, and that’s how he blew up.” But you’ve actually been building a buzz before that. You have features from Big Gipp and Young Dro on your Henny & Apple Juice mixtape. How did that come together? Because you didn’t really have any backing at that point.

I didn’t have nothing. They didn’t charge me for that. They did it because they liked what I got going on. Stroud – who was the executive producer of the tape – produced Gipp’s [“I Ain’t Trippin”] single last summer. He went to Gipp with the idea.

For people in Atlanta, I’m reminiscent of the Dungeon Family, so all the Dungeon Family members took a liking to me. So when Gipp saw that I needed him on the song, he came and did the verse just to show me love.

Dro was approached by Stroud. He was like, “I got a kid on the come up. It would be a good look for both of y’all to work. He’s got a dope song for you to jump on.” And Dro did it just off the strength.

I used to record a Defiant Studios where Dro recorded. He used to come in the room and listen to my stuff, and he always thought I was dope. I know he kind of remembered that.

Have you begun working on an official album?

Not yet. I’m just going through beats. Big Boi expressed to me that he’s going to co-executive produce the album. Snoop wanted me to build a buzz by putting out music and visuals.

I’m just setting my beats aside and writing for it. When Big Boi’s schedule calms down a little bit, I’m gonna jump in the studio and start working on that thing. I expect it to drop sometime early 2017.

It’s interesting to hear that both Big Boi and Snoop are hands on.

I don’t call them all the time. They’re probably surprised that they barely hear from me. I’m working, ya’ll are working, and for this thing to work I got to stay afloat by myself. So when y’all come and put your hands on it, it makes more sense.

That’s why they f-ck with me. They like my grind. I’m not about to wait on them. I got my train moving, y’all hop on, and we’re gonna ride this thing together. I’m not stopping and waiting on them like most artists probably would in my situation.

A lot of people don’t understand when you do a [record deal] situation with people. They assume that’s when you stop doing as much work and leave the work to the team. I don’t agree with that. I think that’s when you’re supposed to work your hardest yourself. Then you’ll maximize whatever else the entities that you’re working with have for you.

Snoop and Drama say our feature price just went ?⬆️ #DoggyStyleRecords @SouthernPlayas

A photo posted by CLAY JAMES (@whoisclayjames) on

I noticed you posted a picture with DJ Drama. Is there any talk about doing a Gangsta Grillz mixtape?

We went to Drama’s album listening party at his studio. Snoop was the special guest, and he introduced me to Drama. Snoop said, “This is Clay James, my new youngin. I’m about to send him through the roof. I need you to f-ck with him.”

Being in Atlanta, you meet everybody. I met Drama like three or four times. But he meets people all the time, so I’m sure it didn’t register who I was. But the fact Snoop brought me to him and said “This is one of my artists that I’m pushing. I’m about to do some big things for him,” I think in the near future you’ll see Drama working with us on something.

The fact that DJ Iceberg is my deejay and Iceberg is in Drama’s Academy, it all ties us together. He loves the fact that Iceberg is my deejay. He also loves the fact that Iceberg wasn’t the one that brought me to him. Iceberg wanted somebody else to do it so it would mean a little bit more. And who better than Snoop?

You wear a lot of bow ties. Is that connected to you being a Kappa?

It’s a little bit of my Kappa connection. Kappas in the south have a different style than our fraternity bruhs in other parts of the world. We keep it real funky. At least back when I was on the yard.

It was bow ties and a lot of Polo. Kind of like how folks were dressing in The Great Gatsby. We keep it real country and real classic, and that was something I wanted to bring into the rap game.

I initially took a liking to the bow tie because of the history behind it. A lot of people don’t know that you see a lot of people with bow ties because they don’t agree with the necktie. The necktie is the same knot they used to tie the noose around black folks’ neck when they used to hang them back in the day.

So why even keep that in our culture when you could be spreading a way more dope idea? I love when people ask me about the bow tie, because I’m able to express that I don’t wear neckties because that’s the same knot on the noose from when people used to get lynched. I just keep it classy with a bow tie.

#FASHION ?: @lassobros

A photo posted by CLAY JAMES (@whoisclayjames) on

You and Messiah have a different approach to fashion. Again, it kind of reminded me of OutKast. Big Boi and Andre 3000 come together to make this great music, but individually their styles are so different. Do you feel like that’s the same dynamic with you and Messiah?

Yeah, definitely. We are the same, but we’re different. Messiah’s fashion is more geared to hypebeast and popular fashion. I know when something’s about to jump off when I see Messiah wear it. Like when I saw everybody go to dashikis, I saw Messiah doing that first.

I knew people wearing Adidas pants with Huaraches and other types of Nike was about to blow because I saw Messiah doing it. He’s ahead of the curve. Stuff Messiah wears won’t get real popular in A-town for three to four months. He follows the blogs and people in urban fashion.

That’s his thing. As far as me, I just like dressing up and tailor-fitted sh-t. I like Polo. I like Brooks Brothers. I just like fly sh-t. I don’t care whether it’s in or out. I wear whatever I want. I like dressing up.

This is our job – this rap thing. I feel like if I would have ended up being that businessman using my business management or marketing degree, I would have had a “suit job.” This rap thing is my job, so I want to be dressed up while I’m doing it, like you would see somebody working for a Fortune 500 company.

Two years ago, you declared yourself the “prince of the south.” How long do you think it will take before you’ll be able to declare yourself a “king of the south”?

I feel like we are descendants of kings as far as us being black men. My thing was about bringing something different out of the south that hasn’t been brought in a long time. My influences are Scarface, Dungeon Family, OutKast, Goodie Mob, UGK, and T.I. These men are all kings of the south.

It’s me saying, “These are my influences. I’m the prince, and I’m bringing that same type of flavor but with a modern feel.” That’s how I came up with the whole “Prince of the South” moniker. I never really thought about when I would be king because my idols are still around.

Time will tell. Once I have more accomplishments and accolades, I believe the people will say that sh-t. It’s going to take the people to say it. It’s not going to be nothing I can say.

Ray J Denies Sliding In Malia Obama’s DMs

Ray J is certainly not here for the Malia Obama rumors!

Rumors began to swirl that singer Ray J got in a little bit of trouble with the Secret Service after he allegedly slid in to Malia Obama’s DMs!

Had people known the original source was said to have been Media Take Out, most would’ve shot down the rumor. Ray J was known for some pretty wild antics before also, so it didn’t seem too far off. Between his past obsession over bragging about his sex tape with Kim Kardashian, rumored relationship with the late, great Whitney Houston, and his humorous beef with Fabolous that one time, we wouldn’t put anything past Ray J.

Ray J says he never addresses the bs, but he had to this time to let you know that he’s trying to be positive and he’s getting married Friday.

Bankroll Fresh’s Uncle Calls DJ Vlad A “Culture Vulture” & “Crook” In Open Letter

(AllHipHop News) Recently, Trentavious “Bankroll Fresh” White’s cousin Street Money Boochie spoke out about the Atlanta rapper’s tragic death earlier this year.

Boochie took issue with White’s former friend No Plug claiming the fatal March shooting was the result of actions by Bankroll.

No Plug gave his side of the situation during a widely circulated sit down with VladTV. Bankroll’s uncle Marvin Shadi Powers is now the latest family member to address the controversial interview.

In particular, Powers is calling out DJ Vlad for publishing the video Q&A without reaching out to Bankroll Fresh’s family or the criminal investigators to get a rebuttal to No Plug’s claims. He also refers to Vlad as a “culture vulture,” “thief”, and “crook.”

Read Shadi Powers’ open letter below.

Dear Vlad, (VladTV)
You disrespectful culture vulture. I offered you to talk to my family, (Bankroll Fresh’s family) when my nephew was first killed. Did you call us or reached out to the Street Money Worldwide family or his father and mother to get a rebuttal to No Plug’s story? None of that!

When I asked you to interview Bankroll PJ and how he was continuing the legacy, you had a subordinate call me to tell me, you’re passing on PJ. He had just released a new single out plus he’s starring in a new FX TV show (Atlanta) this fall with Childish Gambino but no that was too positive, huh? Not enough black on black crime?

But you gave this coward a forum and put this hating coon on your platform like it was some light humored story. Sitting there smiling and talking about how he love my family. Where was the remorse with all that chuckling? And then the story he was telling you were straight bullsh-t with more holes in it than the police’s reasons for killing Alton Sterling. You’re an poor excuse for an journalist, if we can even call you one. And while the whole black community were coming together to protest “cops killing black men”, you drop this one sided interview of an open investigation for an unsolved murder of Bankroll Fresh. Was that strategic Vlad? You wanted to show more black on black violence on the same day? All you do is take from our community!

My nephew is dead and you’re having a light humored conversation with an alleged killer like it’s just another interview with Taxstone or Charlamagne. What’s funny? This sh-t ain’t funny!!! Even as a responsible journalist or the leader of urban news as you claim, you should have had the rebuttal interview with our family and/or other people who was there. Then you let him talked without confirming anything beforehand? Did you talk to the D.A.’s office or the APD Homicide? Even if no charges was brought, it doesn’t explained the real truth on why he was at the studio in the first place! It’s only his side of the story! Where’s the other sides??? Where’s the TRUTH???

No other man of another color or race should have that much power over the narrative of what happens in black communities. Our stories, our lives and even our music and don’t even give back at all. And then you get slick every now and then and subliminally try to drop other vultures like Slim Jesus in our psyche to see if you can get away with it. You’re really a pornographer that found a better hustle: “pimping black culture”. I know you. I worked for you. You don’t give back to our community! How much of that 50K a month, do you donate to the black community. Ad agencies use your site to pimp everything from fried chicken to Coca Cola and pay you well. Words from your own mouth! Cavario from Don Diva warned me about you back then. Eben Gregory from Ebengregory.com warned me about you.

You’re worst than Harvey Levin over at TMZ but most of you cats who make money from black people stick together. Y’all always trying to get money out the hood, one way or another. Corner store or a rap label, covering urban culture or making black movies for black people. But you don’t give a damn about us, you’re worst than the police because you’re killing us slowly with the crap you feed our youth everyday. Just so you can get traffic and views because that’s the new “guns & butter”, advertising dollars for unique visitors. You think we’re stupid.

Since the Hip Hop Nation co signed you and every other idiot who want to be seen or want to remain relevant jumps in front of your camera on some “Steppin Fetchin” sh-t and take us back 50 years in morals and principle. The internet ain’t killing my people, you are with your VladTV. You’re irresponsible and you will be checked for it when the opportunity presents itself. Your end is near.

So are y’all finished or are y’all done??? You trying to destroy my nephew’s legacy after someone took his life? I’ll see you when I see you, clown. Let’s have some tea or break bread or something? But you will put some respect on Bankroll Fresh’s name. That’s a promise. Stay tuned for the real exclusive Bankroll Fresh news on Revolt, AllHipHop and WSHH among others, from my brother and Bankroll’s father, and COO, KRich, Street Money Boochie and Quick Trip from Street Money Worldwide. Shame on you, thief! There’s 3 sides to a story, there’s, our’s and the TRUTH!!! You should have done your job, crook! I’m still Nat Turner to you!!!!

Almost 50 People Get Alcohol Poisoning At Snoop and Wiz Khalifa’s Show In New York

(AllHipHop News)

More than 50 people were reportedly escorted from a Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa gig on Tuesday (August 9) for alcohol poisoning.

Eleven ticketholders, many of them underage, were taken to hospitals near the Nikon Jones Beach Amphitheater in New York on Tuesday to be treated for alcohol poisoning while others under the influence were removed from the show and taken away by their parents, according to reports.

Sources said police officers shut down the bathrooms after three drunk teenagers were escorted from the premises in quick succession.

The underage concertgoers were reportedly drinking alcohol disguised in water bottles in the venue’s toilets and parking lot.

Four people were also arrested for possession of marijuana at the rappers’ The High Road Tour show.

The incident comes just days after 42 people were injured when a railing collapsed at their show in Camden, New Jersey on Friday (August 5).

In a refreshingly inclusive mandate to focus on promoting a significantly more diverse pool of new modern heroes, Netflix and Marvel put together their first ever joint panel at San Diego Comic Con to promote the upcoming Netflix television series “Luke Cage.”

Luke Cage, who is played by Mike Colter was first seen on the Netflix Marvel series “Jessica Jones” as Jessica’s sometime love interest and fellow fighter of crime. Cage, who is an original Marvel Comics character, is a former convict both blessed and cursed with the unusual combination of superhuman strength paired with unbreakable skin.

“Luke Cage” which is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix at 12:01 AM on September 30, 2016, is the third show in the Netflix “Defenders” series following previous Marvel series releases “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” and the yet to be released “Iron Fist” series.

The Comic Con panel, which took place on Thursday night, July 21, 2016, included the impressive cast of Colter, Alfre Woodard, Mahershala Ali, Theo Rossi, Simone Missick, Frank Whaley and showrunner and Executive Producer, Cheo Hodari Coker.

The premise of Netflix’s “Luke Cage” hinges on Cage as a fugitive trying to lay low and rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York after having contracted his unusual powers due to a botched experiment.  As is the case in any great heroic drama, naturally events conspire to pull Cage out of the shadows to fight for the soul of his city.

Drake Believes J. Cole Is One Of The Most Legendary Artists Of Our Generation

Julez Santana, Cam’ron, Fat Joe, & Remy Ma were certainly great additions to Drake’s final MSG show, however Drake bringing out J. Cole was certainly a highlight.

Although J.Cole is a native North Carolinian, he certainly spent much time in NYC, so the crowd treated him with much love as he performed “A Tale Of 2 Citiez”, “No Role Modelz” and more.

The 6 God and Cole have always had a pretty solid relationship as they’ve collaborated before, and J. Cole even brought out Drake to perform at his homecoming concert.

Before J. Cole exited the stage last night, Drake gave the fellow rapper much praise as he referred to him as,

“one of the smartest, greatest, most legendary artists of our generation.”

I mean when you go double platinum with no features you should certainly be counted in that number.
