O.C. Says Nas Stood Him Up At The Studio One Time!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Why has it been a repetitive rumor that Nas used to stand up other rappers back in the day?!

Rapper O.C. sat down with Doggie Diamonds, where he revealed that he and Esco almost had a track together.

According to O.C., Nas was supposed to be on his album, but he never showed up to the studio. O.C. acknowledged that Nas had the whole city, and the whole world at his attention at that time, and it would’ve made a big impact for Nas to be featured on the project.

He felt that Nas was the Hip Hop savior at that time, but he left him hanging. Had Nas showed up, O.C. believes that the record would’ve banged out as well as the album that the collab was supposed to be on.

O.C. also stated that Nas was notorious for standing cats up back then though, and if it weren’t for MC Serch, there would be no Nas, despite the fact that Serch doesn’t get the credit for Nas that he deserves.

It’s cool to see that O.C. isn’t making a big deal out of it, but it also makes you wonder what other potential collaborations in Hip Hop almost happened. What are your thoughts?

“Empire” Star Jussie Smollett Aint Feeling The Trump Administration

(AllHipHop News) “Empire” star Jussie Smollett has released a new single to oppose Donald Trump and the current administration.

Jesse’s latest song “F.U.W” is a statement against bigotry, racism, and xenophobia, which the actor says is precisely what the Trump administration stands for.

Jesse says “F.U.W.” is not a single, will not be any albums, and is not meant to promote the hit series “Empire,” where he stars as Jamal Lyon.

“This is not a single. It’s not a song to promote the series. It’s an artistic expression. My view of this sick cycle, an era in which we must fight our way out of before it’s too late,” Jussie Smollett said of the single.

“This view of unity is something they may never understand. That is why it is up to us. Train your daughters and sons to be soldiers of love, despite and in spite of this F#$* Up World,” he said.

Kim Mathers Heading Into Court Over “Diluted” Drug Tests

(AllHipHop News) Kim Mathers is being accused of violating her probation, originating from a wild incident in 2015.

Kim’s probation officers are alleging that her drug tests have come back diluted a half a dozen times.

Kim was sentenced to probation in November 2016, for a disturbance which happened a year prior.

She admitted to downing a fifth of Malibu, doing drugs and intentionally crashing her Cadillac Escalade.

According to Eminem’s ex-wife, the drinking drugs and the accident that followed, were actually a suicide attempt.

Kim Mathers has denied she’s done anything underhanded with her drug tests and said she has been submitting hair follicle and blood samples.

Her probation officers are trying to get to the bottom of the diluted drug test, and have ordered her into court on Monday (March 20).

Reality-TV Star Claims Drake Gave Her A Pass To Use The N-Word

(AllHipHop Rumors) Look what Drake has found his name at the center of!!

The 6 God’s name is always getting drug into something, but who knew it would be over the use of the N-word by white people.

Reality-TV star @ArianeBellamar has been getting dragged to hell and back for her belief that her and other white people can use the word n##### and not be racist. It all started when she tweeted,

“Why is @VanJones68 always playing the house n#####?! He is smart. Able. Ready. Stand up! Don’t settle for this undefinable nonsense. #RESIST”

#OscarsSoWhite creator, @ReignOfApril informed her that while she may not agree with Van, she still doesn’t get to use this language.

Ariane maintained that she spends hours on hours volunteering for Black Lives Matters, so that proves that she’s not racist. April informed her that she could be married to a black man and still be racist, and she could raise awareness without the use of the N-word.

As if that wasn’t enough, the plot twist came when Ariane informed April that she uses the word n##### when she sings along to Chance The Rapper’s music and Drake’s music, as she claims that Drake is her close friend, and that he’s given her a pass to say it.

“@ReignOfApril Furthermore, Drake would whack me if I skipped it in front of him. He’s the musician. He’s not offended. That’s his choice,” tweeted Ariane.

April then suggested that Ariane is ignorant, racist, or both if she can’t understand why she shouldn’t use the word. What are your thoughts? Let me find out Drake’s black side if out here giving out passes to use the word.

#AHHPowerfulWomen: From Hip-Hop to Sports to Politics, Google Executive Valeisha Butterfield-Jones Finds Her Purpose in Empowering All

#AHHPowefulWomen

(AllHipHop Features) Recognized by ESSENCE Magazine as a top 40 executive under 40, Valeisha Butterfield Jones has blazed a humanitarian and entrepreneurial trail for nearly two decades.

Valeisha currently serves as the Head of Black Community Engagement for Google, responsible for strengthening and deepening the technology giant’s affinity to the Black community globally. She is also the current Co-founder and CEO of the Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network and author of the highly acclaimed book, The Girlprint, a mentorship guide for women to propel their dreams into action (available at Amazon.com).

As a college student, Butterfield Jones began working full-time for music legends Wu Tang Clan and for former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. After graduation, Valeisha was recruited by HBO Boxing and served as the Executive Assistant to the President of HBO Sports. She then returned to her North Carolina roots and served as the Field Director for Chief Justice Henry Frye of the N.C. Supreme Court. After a devastating loss on election night, Valeisha moved to New York City to further pursue her entertainment dreams and landed an unpaid internship with music mogul Russell Simmons.

Valeisha was a professional standout and turned her entertainment aspirations into action by becoming one of the youngest Executive Directors of a national organization at the time. Valeisha served as the Program Manager, Director of Sponsorship and Events, Vice President and eventually the National Executive Director of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network over a seven-year period.

During this time, she was introduced to then Senator Barack Obama and began serving as a volunteer for his 2008 Presidential campaign. Valeisha recruited celebrity surrogates to endorse and support Senator Obama and received a call soon after election night to serve in the Obama Administration. Valeisha served by Presidential appointment in the Administration of U.S. President Barack Obama as the Deputy Director of Public Affairs for the International Trade Administration and as the National Youth Vote Director for the 2012 Obama for America campaign.

Valeisha has been widely credited for her magnetic relationship with youth culture and her role turning out young Americans during the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Presidential elections. Valeisha also served as the National Ambassador for the United Negro College Fund’s Empower Me Tour in 2014 and 2015.

Valeisha has been recognized by Glamour, Marie Claire, Elle, Essence Top 40 under 40, Ebony Top 100, Jet, Black Enterprise and Sister 2 Sister Magazines as a leading young executive in the United States with her finger on the pulse of all things related to youth culture, entertainment and politics. Butterfield Jones has also appeared on OWN TV’s Light Girls, Aspire TV’s Exhale, Arise News, Arise 360, Centric TV’s Morning Cup, BET News, BET’s 106 and Park and others.

As a dedicated mother and wife, Mrs. Valeisha Butterfield Jones shows her power of balance. She is not only a leader in entertainment but is a leader that supports, promotes and defends the progression of women in the entertainment world but also a powerful force for the black community. AllHipHop caught up with Mrs. Butterfield Jones to talk life, work, and fun as an executive in the entertainment industry.

AllHipHop: What’s the most enjoyable part of the job and your duties?

Valeisha Butterfield Jones: The most fulfilling part of my job is knowing that the work I do is having a direct and measurable impact in our community. I’m only inspired when I’m living my life with a clear purpose, so to be able to enjoy what I do and pay my bills while making a difference is honestly a dream come true.

AllHipHop: What is the hardest part?

Valeisha Butterfield Jones: Someone recently told me it takes about twenty years to become an overnight success and they were right! That’s probably the hardest part. It can take years and even decades for your work to be properly compensated or recognized, but as long as we’re staying focused on the quality of work and being consistent, I believe we’re on the right path. Also, there are racial and gender barriers that also make the work even harder, so having the strength and wherewithal to strategically fights those battles is key.

AllHipHop: Can you describe a moment of adversity personal and in your career?

Valeisha Butterfield Jones: Every part of your career has valleys and peaks, so you have to always expect the unexpected. However, a big moment of adversity professionally for me was when I interned at 25 years old unpaid for nearly a year. I was so hungry to break into the entertainment industry that I knew the sacrifice would pay off and I was right, but it was very humbling to sleep on friends couches and eat Ramen Noodles for months and months with no end, pay off or guarantee in sight.

Also, when I turned 30 years old, I felt like a failure. I felt like a failure only because of false expectations that I placed on myself. My vision in my teens was that by 30 I would be married with a child, a huge house and a six-figure salary. All of those things eventually became true, but in God’s timing, not my own.

AllHipHop: What keeps you from giving up?

Valeisha Butterfield Jones: The fear of letting my community down keeps me from giving up. I’ve taken on a lot of responsibility and I honestly feel like I was placed on this earth to make a difference. The pressure I place on myself at times can feel overwhelming, but I know my calling is bigger than myself or my own personal gain. It’s about getting future generations in a position to win and to become successful, so that motivates me to wake up in the morning and go get it.

AllHipHop: How did family play a role in your journey through this industry? (parents, siblings, significant other, children, etc.) Valeisha Butterfield Jones: I’m from a very traditional family and my upbringing was rooted in traditional occupations. The expectations were that we (our generation) would become lawyers, doctors or teachers, so I always wanted to chart my own career path, outside of my parents footsteps. I was also in a unique position to take all of the best practices shared by my parents in their careers and apply it to my work and growth in the industry. It’s been a gift to take all of their values and skills and apply it to my industry.

AllHipHop: Who inspired you to become a leader or boss?

Valeisha Butterfield Jones: Sylvia Rhone, Debra Lee, Cathy Hughes and Shanti Das are all powerful women in the entertainment industry that were mentors in my head years before they ever knew my name. I would research them every day and study their moves to understand what it would take to stand out and to become a leader and boss in the entertainment industry. I’m now honored to know each of them personally and professionally and they continue to be my biggest inspiration.

AllHipHop: How do you balance work and personal life?

Valeisha Butterfield Jones: I don’t! Honestly, I think you have to remain fluid and flexible in how you prioritize your life. My personal life and family always come first, period. That’s how I center my life, however, when it’s time to get into “go mode,” my family understands that I need a little time to really lock in to get a key project or program off the ground. You also have to have a strong team and know how to delegate. This was difficult for me to accept at first because I had the superwoman syndrome, but you’re only as good as the people you’re around, so be sure to invest in a strong team.

AllHipHop: What do you do for fun?

Valeisha Butterfield Jones: Traveling and SoulCycle are my outlets. Whenever I’m on a beach with my husband and good friends, I’m in a great place.

AllHipHop: What are some things you’ve had to deal with that a man wouldn’t?

Valeisha Butterfield Jones: As a woman in business, your intelligence is almost always tested and your intentions are often questioned. For years I felt the need to show my worth and over-deliver. While I still do those things inherently, I no longer feel the need to prove myself. Talk is cheap, so I measure my value now by results. Whenever you can back your work up with data, metrics and facts, your value cannot be questioned.

AllHipHop: Final words?

Valeisha Butterfield Jones: Just know that the road to success is best measured by your happiness. My wish is for every young, emerging boss to find true peace and happiness in your work, because you’re going to spend so much of your life fulfilling this purpose. Also, always trust your gut and bet on YOU, first.

Rick Ross Raps On “Apple Of My Eye”: I Told Meek I Wouldn’t Trust Nicki

(AllHipHop News) Rick Ross’ new album Rather You Than Me includes the Miami native revealing a supposed private conversation he had with his MMG protégé Meek Mill.

The track “Apple Of My Eye” features Ross talking about the Dreamchaser leader’s relationship with Nicki Minaj.

“I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki. Instead of beefing with your dog you just give him some distance,” rapped Ross.

The lyrics seem to be connected to Meek’s feud with Drake.

Rumors have suggested Nicki was somehow responsible for the conflict between the two “R.I.C.O.” collaborators.

Nicki’s rival, Remy Ma, included that speculation on her scathing diss record “ShETHER.”

“We all know it was a beef that you started,” spit Rem.

A week ago, Meek actually posted an Instagram picture with Ross which included the Philadelphia representative referencing his boss’ song “Apple Of My Eye.”

“Rozay been told me don’t trust you,” posted Meek.

Is Papoose About To Release A Diss Track For Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne & Drake?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Uh oh. Is Papoose loading his lyrical guns for Young Money?

Pap got people on IG thinking he’s about to take shots at Nicki Minaj, Drake, and/or Lil Wayne.

“Just wrote a new song tonight!!!! I think y’all gonna like it,” he said.

Of course, all this comes after Papoose’s wife Remy Ma “shethered” Nicki, and then the Barb brought on Drizzy and Weezy for her “No Frauds” response.

Remy might have given another hint that something big is coming up.

She wrote on her own IG, “Sometimes you just gotta sit back and watch like ?… ?? .”

We’ll have to wait and see what Pap is really cooking up.

One thing is clear, the Brooklyn emcee knows how to put words together. A battle over bars with him could be trouble.

Do you think Papoose should diss the YM crew?

Drake’s ‘More Life’ Reportedly Not An Apple Music Exclusive

(AllHipHop News) Drake is set to return with a playlist this week called More Life.

While his previous projects What A Time To Be Alive and Views were released as temporary Apple Music exclusives, it appears Drizzy’s latest body of work will be open for all streaming users.

Pitchfork reports that sources connected to Amazon confirmed More Life will be on their service at the same time as other sources.

Spotify also posted the trailer for More Life on the company’s verified Twitter account.

There have been reports that Universal Music Group – the parent company of Drake’s Cash Money/Young Money labels – ordered its subsidiaries to stop making exclusive distribution deals with streaming services.

The last few years have seen high-profile artists like Drake, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean debut their projects on specific streaming sites such as Apple Music and Tidal.

Drake is believed to have signed a $19 million deal with Apple Music in 2015.

‘Power’ Showrunner Says 50 Cent Faked Beef With Her Over Nude Scene

(AllHipHop Rumors) Remember when 50 Cent was cutting TF up over hit show ‘Power’ allegedly showing a shot of his penis without his permission? I knew something didn’t quite add up about 50’s antics!

Wellllll ‘Power’ showrunner Courtney Kemp has recently sat down with Refinery29, where she revealed that her whole online beef with 50 over the scene was 100% contrived by 50!

“It’s all bullsh-t! 50 and I are extremely close, so all that social media drama? It’s just for the show. People truly believed that he did not know his dick was going to be on camera. I couldn’t believe it! Do you know how long we had to prepare for that shot? Of course he knew. The whole thing just gave us so much more buzz and helped me realize how we can use social media to our advantage. 50 Cent is a brilliant marketer,” said Kemp.

As we all know 50 Cent loves to troll and be petty on social media; it’s like he gets a high out of being petty. When this situation hit the fan last year, I kept saying to myself, something doesn’t sound right about this, especially since 50 is always with the sh-ts! I felt that even if 50, in the end, decided that he didn’t want his penis shown on television, there certainly was a time where he was okay with the shot!

Are your surprised at all, or did you call BS from the start?

Joey Bada$$ Talks J. Cole Using His Waves” Beat For “False Prophets” (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) When J. Cole dropped his most recent project, 4 Your Eyez Only, last December he prefaced the project with the song “False Prophets.”

The record borrowed from the Joey Bada$$ cut “Waves” off the 2012 mixtape 1999.

Joey spoke about the sample use during an interview with Power 106.

“We link up. I come to the studio. We’re politicking, and then he’s like, ‘I want to play you this record.’ So I’m like, ‘Okay.’ I’m still thinking this is a track for me to hop on,” said Bada$$ about a meeting with Cole last summer.

The Brooklyn spitter added, “One day he was writing, and he resorted to his old way of writing, which was going on YouTube and writing to beats, which is what most of us do. So he comes across the ‘Waves’ beat. He knew it was mine, but he heard the beat and it sparked something.”

According to Bada$$, Cole sought out his blessing to incorporate the track into “False Prophets.”

However, the Mr. Robot actor confessed he was not aware J. Cole would utilize the song as a single.

“To be honest, I didn’t know it was going to be promoting the album. I didn’t know it was going to be on the radio every day. That sh-t is weird,” admitted Bada$$. “I’m like, ‘You know what? I got my feature. It’s all good.'”

Cole will be one of the guest acts on Joey’s All-AmeriKKKan Bada$$ album.

The LP, dropping on April 7, will also include appearances by Styles P, Schoolboy Q, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution, and Chronixx.

(AllHipHop News) Pelle Pelle recently caught up with G Herbo, where the Chicago rapper discusses his unique childhood.

According to G, he began rapping when he was 15-years-old, yet he never thought he would make it as a rapper.

“We [Lil Bibby] had a lot going on at the time we was young, and we was just talking about everything that was going on in our life, the good, bad situations that had happened and what had just made us and we were at that point in our lives.”

The Chicago emcee said he just rapped about what was going on his life around him on the rough streets of Chicago.

As improbable as it may sound, G Herbo his main focus was survival and he never imagined he would make it as a rapper.

“I was young and that It was never really the intention of being a rapper or making it this far, or becoming a star or getting global attention. Charlotte Cops Aware Of Young Dolph’s “Bulletproof” Album and Say Arrests Are On The Way

(AllHipHop News) Police in Charlotte, North Carolina are now intimating that arrests are forthcoming in a violent downtown shooting during CIAA Weekend last month.

Over 100 rounds were shot on a downtown street in Charlotte, just as the yearly CIAA championship game was kicking off.

The shooting is not related to any official CIAA-sponsored, but police have established the incident was sparked by sources from the “entertainment industry.”

The prevailing theory is that rapper Young Dolph was the predetermined target, which has been advanced mostly by Young Dolph himself.

In fact, Young Dolph is releasing an album called Bulletproof, where the song titles form a sentence, that also confirm he was supposed to be a victim in the shooting.

The cops are aware of Young Dolph’s album, which will surely be analyzed by investigators.

“I take it more as a taunt towards potential victims out there,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Deputy Chief Jeff Estes told WCNC, refusing to reveal if Young Dolph has been questioned over the shootout.

“In general, detectives will talk to anyone that they believe is pertinent to the investigation,” Deputy Chief Estes.

According to Chief Estes, arrests are imminent in the case, thanks to new evidence retrieved from several bullet-riddled vans and a GMC Yukon that was totaled at the scene.
