Taraji P. Henson’s Fans Furious Over Oscar’s “Hidden Colors” Snub

(AllHipHop News) Taraji P. Henson’s fans are furious she missed out on an Oscar nomination for “Hidden Figures.”

Not long after the 2017 Academy Awards nominations were revealed today (January 24), the “Empire” star’s name began trending on Twitter.

But far from people flocking to congratulate Taraji, fans were venting their anger over her lack of recognition for her role as real life NASA mathematician Katherine G. Johnson, who helped to launch the first successful space missions.

“Taraji P Henson snubbed and another ho hum Meryl Streep nomination,” one user fumed.

“Really Academy??? @TherealTaraji should have been nominated for Best Actress in a leading role – she was AMAZING in “Hidden Figures!” #Robbed,” another added.

And it seems Amy Adams also not being nominated has irked moviegoers. Amy received rave reviews for her role in sci-fi flick “Arrival,” about a linguistics professor asked to interpret the language of alien visitors.

“Amy Adams snub would have been less painful with Taraji P. Henson in over Ruth Negga or Meryl Streep #OscarNoms,” a Twitter user posted, while someone else simply stated: “I love Amy Adams and she was great in nocturnal animals/arrival but if anyone was robbed of a lead actress nom it was Taraji P. Henson (sic).”

Amy’s part in “Arrival” earned her a Golden Globe and BAFTA nomination, and she was even mistakenly listed on the Oscars website.

Taraji is yet to be nominated for her role in “Hidden Figures,” however, the movie itself did land Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay nods and her co-star Octavia Spencer is up for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars.

The Oscars take place on February 26.

Talib Kweli Puts Chrisette Michele’s Fiance In His Place

(AllHipHop Rumors) By now, most of Chrisette Michele’s fans aka the black community have written her off for performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration ball.

One person who always has time and wifi is Talbi Kweli, and I’m certainly here for it. LOL. It’s always entertainment.

Talib along with much of Black Twitter has been getting Chrisette together for days now, before and after her Trump performance.

Kweli was pretty upset about Michele deciding to go on with her scheduled performance. He was bothered and disappointed by it that it even p##### him off even more when Chrisette’s fiance, Doug Ellison, took shots at Spike Lee, for publicly announcing that he’d no longer be using Chrisette’s music due to her decision.

Doug responded to one of Talib’s post hinting at his belief that Spike was using Chrisette’s media buzz to promote his own work,

“@TalibKweli ‘OG’s’ don’t use IG to advance their own promotion on the back of someone who’s carrying the burden to unify,” he posted.

Talib clapped back exposing Doug’s faulty logic, and asked him to stick to being ignorant to make himself and Chrisette feel better about accepting that check, while still asking him not to come for the OG Spike Lee!

What are your thoughts on Chrisette Michele performing for Trump? Do you think her career will be over now? Chrisette is a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice, but I knew her train was off the track when she got engaged to a man who once sued her for $20 million.

But here’s the real gag apparently Chrisette was disowned by her family, and she didn’t even get to meet Trump after she performed. Carry on.

AHH Stray News: Snoop Dogg & Martha Return, Floyd’s Buggati Flops, Teairra Mari Catches Legal Break

Rapper Snoop Dogg’s quirky new cooking and chat show with lifestyle queen Martha Stewart will return to TV next month. “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” was a big hit when it launched on VH1 last year, and the odd couple will be serving up more meals for special guests on season two. Kathy Griffin, Mike Epps, and sushi chef Abe Hiroki will feature in the first episode of the new season, which will debut on February 13. This season’s guests will also include 50 Cent, Ashlee Simpson, Evan Ross, Fat Joe, and R&B star-turned-top chef Kelis.

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s 2011 Bugatti Veyron failed to sell at auction held recently in Arizona. The sportscar was expected to hit a reserve price of $2.3 million, but bidding at the Barrett-Jackson car auction in Scottsdale stalled at $1.9 million. Mayweather’s pal Justin Bieber had more luck at the sale – the pop star sold his Ferrari 458 for $434,500. The “Sorry” singer sweetened the deal by offering up concert tickets and backstage passes to the buyer.

Singer and reality TV star Teairra Mari’s battery case has reportedly been dropped after her accuser refused to testify. The “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” regular, who once had a deal with Jay Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records, was facing charges of misdemeanor battery, theft and vandalism. She was hit with the charges in 2015 after she allegedly fought an Uber driver during an altercation about a cell phone charger in July, 2015. He performed a citizen’s arrest and called the police when she refused to leave his car. Mari, who denied the incident, was also reportedly facing arrest last year, after she failed to appear in court in June. However, a judge has since dismissed the case following the driver’s refusal to testify.

BREAKING NEWS: WorldstarHipHop.com Founder “Q” Dead At Age 43

(AllHipHop News) Q, the founder WorldstarHipHop.com, one of the most popular Hip-Hop sites in the world died today (January 24).

Q, born Lee O’Denat, died in his sleep at the age of 43, according to multiple reports.

“My condolences go out to his family. Q was an entrepreneur, a pioneer and all around great guy,” Kevin Black, former President of WorldStarHipHop.com told AllHipHop.com.

The website was founded in 2005, with controversial fight videos, mixtapes, stripper videos and interviews with rappers.

“Hip-hop is for the sex, the drugs, the violence, the beefs, the culture,” Q told the New York Times in 2015. “That’s the competitiveness of hip-hop, so I felt like the site needed to be R-rated.”

Before his untimely death, Q had been planning the launch of “World Star TV,” which is a 10-episode weekly comedy/sketch series set to debut on February 3 on MTV2.

“God bless ya family & friends. You was a real solid, stand-up dude,” Atlanta rapper T.I. said. “We can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done for all of US!!! You were always pleasant & positive through all the madness. You built a brand that changed the course of culture. Your legacy will live on. On behalf of The Harris Family, BankRoll Mafia & The Hustle Gang, We offer our truest & deepest condolences. With Love & Respect. Rest Easy King. #RIPQ.”

“RIP to my guy Q@worldstar we got some years in. Great, Great, Great Dude,” said Charlamagne Tha God. “One of those moments where you don’t cry because it’s over, you smile because it happened. SMH. Brother was already up but he had some phenomenal things cooking.”

Tiny Isn’t Done With T.I., But There’s A Catch!

(AllHipHop Rumors) One of our favorite couples just may be working it out!

Apparently Tiny isn’t quite done with T.I. yet, but there is a little catch to the situation. She wants you to know that she isn’t the one that is causing the problems in their relationship, so she isn’t necessarily the one that has to bend or doing anything.

Tiny may give Tip another chance if he gets his shhhhh together! Sheesh! Relationships can be tough!

Tiny appeared on Instagram Live, and a fan asked her about her current relationship status. Tiny replied saying,

“He need to come back to me, baby. He need to come on back to me… I’m where I’m supposed to be at!”

Tiny is saying come on home Tip; she’s where you need to be!

I will honestly be surprised if these two ever really get a divorce. One thing that’s for sure is, they are going to either have to divorce, put some rules into place, or have an open marriage. LOL. Carry on.

We are rooting for you guys!

D12’s Swifty McVay Recalls Suge Knight Attempting To Intimidate Eminem At 50 Cent’s Video Shoot

(AllHipHop News) Suge Knight is no longer the Hip Hop bully he once was.

Legal troubles have kept Knight from being the same force in the industry, but there are surely plenty of old stories about the Death Row Records co-founder’s history of threatening actions.

During an interview with the Murder Master Music Show, Swifty McVay of D12 shared some of his experiences with Knight.

McVay covered Suge’s issues with fellow D12 member and Dr. Dre protégé Eminem.

“Em was pretty much guilty through association,” said Swifty. “Dr. Dre inherited this beef from Suge, and here comes Em being with Dre. So he kind of got pulled in it by default.”

McVay talked about being at the video shoot for 50 Cent’s “In da Club” when Knight supposedly attempted to intimidate people over their connection to Dre.

“We looking like, ‘We from Detroit. We ain’t in this mess,’” recalls McVay. “So, we ain’t running to no trailer because they ain’t trying to see or say nothing to us. But us being in the mix of things, it just felt crazy.”

He added, “We was just worried about my mans. Em ain’t have nothing to do with what was going on out there.”

Mariah Carey & YG Reportedly Working On A Breakup Song Together

(AllHipHop News) The embarrassing New Year Eve’s performance debacle does not seem to be stopping Mariah Carey from moving forward with her music career.

The vocal icon has been seen recently with Los Angeles rapper YG, and TMZ reports the two artists are working on a tune together.

According to the celebrity news website, Carey and YG have recorded a breakup song and shot a video for the track.

Carey went through a public split with her ex-fiance James Packer last year.

The songstress and the emcee were hounded by paparazzi outside the Catch restaurant on Sunday night.

“I don’t know what we’re doing,” YG told the paps when asked if he and Mariah are collaborating.

It would be no surprise if MC and YG have connected for a record.

Carey’s discography includes songs with Hip Hop stars like Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, Jermaine Dupri, Snoop Dogg, Cam’ron, Jadakiss, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and others.

The assumed Mariah/YG song could premiere during the season finale of the Mariah’s World docu-series.

Mariah’s World airs Sunday on E! at 9 ET.

Producer Cuban Harry Relinquishes “King of Lean” Title; Says He’s A Junkie

(AllHipHop News) A Hip-Hop producer who once dubbed himself “The King of Lean” on social media is now saying he was nothing but a junkie.

Producer Cuban Harry, born Harry Garcia, was in a Miami court yesterday (January 23), to face charges that he was a major player in the underworld selling “sizzurp,” which is promethazine mixed with codeine.

Cuban Harry is also charged with racketeering for allegedly masterminding a number of pharmacy heists.

Harry, who is an associate of rappers like Future and Lil Wayne, allegedly targeted the pharmacies to get painkillers, which he used to make his own cough syrup, which he peddled on Instagram.

”I had an image to portray, to boost up my followers,” Cuban Harry told a judge yesterday during his first hearing. ”I guess it’s just the music industry.”

Cuban Harry told the judge that he had never been a drug trafficker, although he couldn’t explain the undercover videos of him selling the “sizzurp” to undercover informants.

Despite prosecutors allegations, Cuban Harry maintained that he was an addict.

“I can drink a bottle in like two days. It’s easy to get. It just makes you feel sleepy,” Cuban Harry told the court. “It helps you focus. People like it in the studio because when you record your songs, it helps your voice.”

The 27-year-old producer still will next appear in a Broward Court, to face racketeering charges on the allegations he paid young men to rob Walgreen’s and CVS stores on his behalf.

Dame Dash Talks Black Entrepreneurship During The Donald Trump Presidency (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Dame Dash famously declared real men don’t have bosses during an interview with The Breakfast Club.

So what does the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder think about The Apprentice boss becoming the President of the United States and its effect on black business?

Dash spoke to Hip Hop Motivation about entrepreneurship in the era of Donald Trump.

“Nothing should impair an entrepreneur,” stated Dash. “An entrepreneur does not get given anything. An entrepreneur goes and takes it. That’s what makes you an entrepreneur.”

He continued, “It might affect people that want welfare. It might affect people that want jobs. All that might get affected. If you know how to rub two sticks – pause – and make fire, it doesn’t matter who’s the president. That’s my opinion.”

Bump J spent the last seven years in a federal prison, after pleading guilty to bank robbery and weapons charges,.

Bump and another gunman were convicted of holding up a Chase Bank at gunpoint in 2007.

Prior to his legal issues, Bump J was a member of the rap group The Goon Squad, which was made up of different gang members from various factions across the city of Chicago.

Bump eventually received a solo deal via Atlantic Records, but it was soon terminated, due to friction with the label and Bump J’s legal problems.

“I want to use my power and influence for that good and motivate others to stick together,” Bump J told AllHipHop.com in August of 2016.

”It’s the same thing they’re doing in Atlanta culture and Cali culture- just to be able to bring our star power to the community and try to help change something,” the Chicago rapper said.

Remy was elated to share the news of her pregnancy with Papoose, after a year of marriage. during the season premiere of “Love & Hip Hop New York.”

By the end of the show, the couple had received the terrible news: Remy was having an ectopic pregnancy, and that the fetus had to be removed.

“First, thank you to everyone that sent their congrats as well as condolences,” Remy said. “This was a hard time for me & my husband & we thought long and hard before deciding to share this part of our lives with you all.”

Remy gave props to Pap for sticking by her during such a trying ordeal, both physically and mentally, while acknowledging Pap was hurt, but being strong for his wife.
