(AllHipHopNews) G.O.O.D. Music President Pusha T released his new song “Drug Dealers Anonymous,” the first single from his upcoming King Push project.
The single features none other than Roc Nation CEO Jay Z who’s also popped back in the headlines of late after a brief hiatus.
Jay made a very fitting appearance on Fat Joe’s “All The Way Up” remix.
Pusha T’s King Push album is the follow-up to his album “King Push: Darkest Before Dawn,” which was released December of 2015.
The new project does not have a set release date or track list, but Pusha T announced through Twitter that the project’s lead single would be released through Tidal.
Pusha T’s King Push: Darkest Before Dawn was well received by critics for its gritty production and intricate lyricism.

Team CMG and Curtis Mayz recently released the song “Swangin” with Mel from the group OutfitTX
“Swangin” is taken from Curtis Mayz upcoming album Real.Life.Raps EP 1.0 which has a July release date.

The voice of Orlando Tucker’s niece can be heard igniting records such as Meek Mill’s “Monster,” Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot N-gga,” and Royce da 5’9”’s “Rap On Steroids.”
Jahlil Beats has an entire catalog of songs he helped create with various artists as well as his own projects like the Crack Music and Legend Era series. With his new venture Tandem Music Group, the production wizard from Chester, Pennsylvania has now embraced the role of an executive as well.
Rising Philadelphia acts CRMC (who recently dropped the joint mixtape New Levels New Devils with Jahlil) and Bok Nero (whose “Hop Out The Phantom” produced by Jahlil was premiered on iHeartRadio) are Tandem’s flagship acts.
Besides building a multifaceted brand, Jahlil continues to construct hits. The Roc Nation affiliate is preparing to warm up the rest of 2016 with work by Meek, Beanie Sigel, Dave East, Fabolous, and more.
AllHipHop.com caught up with Jahlil Beats to talk about some of his recent production and his forthcoming musical efforts.
You’ve been making moves into the executive arena. Can you talk about Tandem?
We launched Tandem Music Group in January. It’s a publishing company/management company/entertainment business. It stems from Tandem Enterprises, a company I started with my partner and manager Doob [Dave Elliot] and my other partner RahTah [Johnson].
We do real estate. We got the label and sports management division. It’s really stemming from me being in the game for about five years, and wanting to go to that next level, me being inspired by dudes like Jay Z, Diddy, Jimmy Iovine, and Russell Simmons.
When you talk about all the different things Tandem is working on, it reminds me of how Roc Nation has management, the label, and sports. You were one of the first producers to connect with Roc Nation.
And we’re still going strong too.
Was there anything that you learned from that association with Roc Nation?
Yeah, my whole thing was getting under Jay and really seeing how things operated. I didn’t want to just go there and be a producer. I wanted to learn the business aspect of things.
The label might seem big, but the offices are small. It’s pretty much an independent label. Just being inspired by how Ty Ty [Smith], Emory [Jones], Jay Brown, and all those dudes move, I wanted to recreate that or make it better as a young guy.
Who are some of the artists you’re working with on Tandem?
Our first signed act is this kid from Philly named Bok Nero. He does a mix between Hip Hop and EDM. Our first deal with him was a joint venture with Dim Mak, Steve Aiko’s label.
What’s CRMC’s association with Tandem?
They are signed to Tandem only, but we’re about to do a joint venture with them too. We’re talking to about three or four labels. We’re just trying to find the right situation for them. Whoever comes out with the best contract, we’ll go with them.
They’re gearing up to drop a new mixtape next month. It’s like a “jackin for beats” joint where they’re hopping on everybody’s stuff. They do have two exclusive singles produced by me on there. That’s going to be crazy.
Will there be a follow-up to the New Levels New Devils project?
Yeah, that’s in the works. We’re just experimenting with different things. I don’t want them to just have sequels to every mixtape. Whatever song or project catches the public’s ear, we’ll roll in that lane.
There’s been talk about you working with Beanie Sigel. What’s the status of that?
Yeah, Beans was in my studio last week too. We’re actually finishing up the album. Right now, he just did all his stuff. We’re looking to do at least three or four features on the hooks. We’re not really looking for anybody that’s going to rap with him on that. I know Dave East is going to be on there though.
Speaking of Dave East, what happened to the track with him and Bobby Shmurda?
That’s my single. I’m going to drop an EP soon. I’m waiting for the end of the summer. That joint is crazy. I really did it to try to help [Shmurda’s] situation out. I know they’re in an unfortunate situation. I want to give them most of the publishing off the record. I know that would be a big help for them.
Have you had the chance to talk to Bobby since his situation?
I haven’t, but I wrote him though.
Damian Lillard [aka Dame D.O.L.L.A.]recently released “Talk To Em” which you produced. How did that come together?
His people reached out to me. We did the “They Sleep” record. Then he reached out to me himself, and I sent him a whole bunch of joints. He did a gang of records. I don’t know if there’s a full project of us together, but it’s definitely more coming.
As far as what I’m working on – DC4, I’m on Fab’s album. I got mad stuff coming. The Beanie Sigel album. Me and Dave East got mad records coming. My EP is coming. I got mad records with Royce da 5’9”.
I like that joint [“Rap On Steroids”] you have on [Royce’s] mixtape.
They cut Eminem off of that. Em is at the end of the record.
When are we going to hear that [Eminem verse]?
I’m not even sure. I know it’s coming. He’s working on a new project, so I’m sure it’ll end up on there.
You mentioned Meek’s DC4. I heard you called it a classic. Can you give a hint to some of the topics he’s addressing on there?
This one is Meek going back to the streets and giving you so much substance. I think this is his best body of work. I don’t know if it’s going to stick, but we got “Tony Story 3” which is ridiculous. We got some club records.
He has grown. He’s been through some stuff last year and this year. He has a lot to talk about, so he’s definitely going to answer those questions.
With the stuff he went through last year and his DC3 being considered a classic mixtape, does Meek feel any sense of pressure of having to live up to the anticipation? The public is definitely going to be tuned in when this project drops, and you know there are people just waiting to talk sh-t.
Honestly, from talking to him, I think he’s just excited to release music. Going through what he’s been going through with the system, he’s just happy to be making music right now.
What are your thoughts on what’s happening in Philly right now? Are there any up-and-coming artists right on the verge of breaking?
I think it’s great. One artist I’m really paying attention to is Lil Uzi. He’s blowing up. Everybody wanted to sign this kid at one point. I’m just sitting back and watching what he’s going to do.
It’s a new wave of young cats that’s coming out that’s in the EDM market. That’s why I hopped on Bok Nero. These new dudes are a fusion between Trap, EDM, and some other sh-t. That’s the new sound of Philly, and if you ain’t into it then you’re going to be lost.
Yeah, that’s my little brother – same mom and same dad.
What was happening in your household that led to, not one, but two top-tier producers coming out of that family?
Originally my cousin L [Lamount Graves], taught me how to make music. He lived with us at one point. He was the one that really got us into it. My pop is a producer too. But being next to my cousin with him making music, I was always intrigued by producing.
When stuff started to pop off for me when I was doing my mixtapes and recording all the hottest dudes in the city in my bedroom, Tone [The Beat Bully] was like, “Teach me how to make beats.” So I taught him.
My cousin Sap was another one me and my pop taught. I showed him the ropes. He produced Mac Miller’s “Donald Trump” and Game’s “Celebration.” My nephew makes beats too. He’s hot. It’s about five of us.
You’ve talked about some of your work coming up. What can we expect from Jahlil Beats in the next month or so?
Bok Nero is dropping his EP. I’m working with the kid Zoey Dollaz out of Miami. He’s got the record “Couches” that’s blowing up locally there. I’m starting to hear it on the radio here too. And I’m pretty much just focusing on helping Meek with DC4.
Now, you know I said in the next month, and you mentioned DC4. So people may think that means DC4 is coming in June. [laughs]
Nah, I don’t know when it’s coming. I just know we’re finishing it up. That’s all I can really tell you. I’d say we’re like 88% done.
(AllHipHop News) Legendary Hip-Hop label Duck Down Records is acknowledging the memory of the late Sean Price, by observing the 20th Anniversary of Heltah Skeltah’s album Nocturnal.
Heltah Skeltah was a group on Duck Down comprised of members Rock and the late Ruck, aka Sean Price. Other notable groups on the label include co-CEO Buckshot, Black Moon, Smif-n-Wessun, and O.G.C., collectively known as The Boot Camp Clik.
Together, Heltah Skeltah issued their albums Nocturnal and Magnum Force and helped account for a portion of the 3 million records Duck Down has sold over the last 21 years as an indie label.
Sean P. died suddenly of a heart attack on August 8, 2015.
Prior to his passing at the age of 43, Sean P. had produced a deep catalog as a solo artist, releasing critically acclaimed albums like Monkey Barz, Jesus Price Superstar, Random Axe with Guilty Simpson & Black Milk, Mic Tyson and Songs In The Key of Price.
On June 22nd at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, Duck Down is hosting a highly anticipated show where performers on the label’s roster and its many associates will honor all things Sean P.
A number of guest artists will cover Sean Price’s rhymes during the concert, which kicks off at 8:00PM. Duck Down is bestowing all of the proceeds from the ticket sales to Sean P’s family.
On Thursday (June 23), Duck Down will follow the Sean P. tribute with their annual BBQ.
People who visit Duck Down’s barbecue at Betsy Head Park in Brownsville, Brooklyn, will be treated to performances by Buckshot, Rock of Heltah Skeltah, Smif N Wessun, A-F-R-O + Marco Polo, Young M.A, and Chelsea Reject.
In addition to the show, Duck Down, and its sponsors will feed everyone and hand out other collectible items, all for free.
Producer/DJ Statik Selektah will handle the 1’s and 2’s while media personality Peter Rosenberg will keep the crowd engaged as the host.
Duck Down is still putting in work since founders Dru Ha and rapper Buckshot launched the brand in 1995.
The label has been instrumental in developing a new crop of artists, while releasing albums by well-known acts like 9th Wonder, Pharoahe Monch and KRS-One, over the years.
Most recently, Bodega Bamz revealed the visuals to his track “All Eyez Off Me.” The single is taken from part one of Bodega Bamz three-part project All Eyez Off Me, which is due to be released June 1st.

(AllHipHop News) Nick Cannon is known to attack his opponents with words on his freestyle comedy show Wild ‘n Out. The entertainer recently offered an open challenge to any rapper to face him in a one-on-one lyrical match-up.
Several professional battlers such as Murda Mook, Dizaster, and The Saurus as well as celebrities like Bow Wow and Adrien Broner have responded to Cannon. Now Charron has put his name in the hat too.
The Canadian spitter posted a video where he recites bars directed at Cannon. The rap includes Charron calling Cannon a C-list celebrity, accusing battle rapper/Wild ‘n Out star Conceited of writing his lyrics, and throwing shots about his divorce from Mariah Carey.
“If you’re really about your business, let’s make this a $500,000 battle. Put up $250,000 each,” said Charron. “Let me get my funds together. I’ll make it happen.”
In addition, Charron offered two stipulations for the battle – the winner is determined by five agreed upon judges, and if he wins Cannon must sign him for one season of Wild ‘n Out.
(AllHipHop News) Rapper T.I. was initially reluctant to sign on to the new “Roots” miniseries because he didn’t think the classic TV drama needed to be remade.
The “Whatever You Like” star plays runaway slave Cyrus in the historical miniseries, which is based on Alex Haley’s 1976 book, “Roots: The Saga of an American Family.”
The original 1977 production earned nine Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe and a Peabody Award, and spawned two sequels. The finale is still the third highest-rated U.S. TV program in broadcasting history and as a result, T.I., 35, was apprehensive about getting involved with the reboot.
“This was an opportunity that he presented to me, and of course initially he got a little bit of push back from me,” he told The Huffington Post. “I will admit that I was one of the ones to say, ‘Man, I don’t know if that needs to be remade.'”
The star also expressed concerns the show’s content was too emotional for producer Will Packer to take on.
He continued, “It was just a huge undertaking for him as a producer and for me as an actor to sign up to remake such a classic and to tell a story that has so much pain and just so much turmoil involved in it.”
However, once T.I. signed on for the project, he used his past experiences of incarceration to help prepare him for his role.
“I do know what it’s like to have your freedom be taken from you or to not have it be available to you,” he explained. “I kind of amplified my thoughts and how I felt when my freedom was separate and apart from me. So I kind of took that and pushed upon it, because Cyrus is actually thee most rebellious and non-subservient character that there is. You never see Cyrus in ‘Roots’ as a slave, he’s always a runaway slave – running, dodging bullets and doing whatever it takes to maintain his freedom. So it wasn’t as slave written as the rest of the characters (sic), but I think all of the characters collectively to the story are important.”
The slave drama has since been heavily criticized by rapper Snoop Dogg, who has called on fans to boycott the show and urged filmmakers and producers to focus their efforts on documenting the success of African-Americans, instead of revisiting their tough past.
The four-part miniseries also stars Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Anna Paquin, Anika Noni Rose, and newcomer Malachi Kirby.
It debuted on The History Channel channel last night (May 30).
Chicago producer Bryan Ford and Wu Tang alum Killah Priest have released a new video off of their new album For the Future of Hip Hop on Revolutionary Music.
Bryan Ford and Killah Priest shot the video for “Fluctuate” at Chicago’s The Occult Bookstore, in a nod to Killah Priest’s metaphysical rhyming style.
“The video is next level s###,” Killah Priest said. “The store was a mystical place. When I put the suit on, I felt like I went back in time to a distant home!”
Spartanburg, South Carolina Pop/R&B artist Bethany Rae, better knowns as “B Rae” presents her sing Gas Mask with “Might Be” singer DJ Luke Nastyy, of High Point, North Carolina.
“Gas Mask” was produced by Murk da Mic and super producer Jerry Wonda, of Wonda Music.
(AllHipHop News) Soulja Boy has had a rough couple of weeks. First the Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star was accused of lying about a $400 million deal, and now he has taken to Twitter to announce his SODMG label has dropped all of its acts.
It is not clear exactly how many artists were on the SODMG roster before Soulja apparently made the decision to wipe the slate clean. At one point, the “Crank That” performer’s company was home to Arab, Lil B, Riff Raff, and others.
We’re told police got multiple excessive noise complaints from 9 PM to 10:30 PM, when police paid a visit to Drake’s Hidden Hills estate. Things were calmer, so cops left.
Video uploaded to the internet shows at least six women brawling. Details about what caused the melee are unavailable at this time.
Meanwhile, Drake is playing it cool on social media. The OVO leader posted a picture of himself at the party on Instagram.
According to TMZ, the budding entrepreneur was pulled over for driving erratically. Police suspected him of being intoxicated.
Dash was given a sobriety test at the scene and as a result was taken into custody. The arrest reportedly took place earlier this month.
Boogie Dash is one of the stars of WE tv’s Growing Up Hip Hop. The show also features Angela Simmons (daughter of Rev. Run), Romeo Miller (son of Master P), Egypt Criss (daughter of Pepa and Treach), and TJ Mizell (son of Jam Master Jay).

Meek Mill posted a message on Instagram taking aim at the justice system, the media, and “crab in the barrel dudes” over the Troy Ave situation.

(AllHipHop News) Roland “Troy Ave” Collins arrived at Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday (May 30). The Brooklyn rapper was arraigned on charges connected to the deadly shooting at Irving Plaza on May 25.
The New York Daily News captioned footage of Troy entering the courthouse. After taking a bullet to the leg, the 33-year-old BSB Records head was taken into the building in a wheelchair.
Prosecutors believe Troy is responsible for not only shooting himself that night but also shooting at other individuals. Video shows him firing inside a V.I.P. room in the venue.
Troy is facing attempted murder as well as criminal possession of a weapon. Authorities are said to be still determining if he will be charged with the murder of his friend Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.
Judge Ushir Pandit-Durant denied a $50,000 bail request and ordered Collins be held without bail until trial. Troy’s attorney Scott Leemon suggested that his client is the victim in this situation.
“He didn’t shoot himself, he didn’t shoot his lifelong friend and bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter,” Leemon told AllHipHop.com. “Ronald died a hero and should be remembered that way. The snippet of the video released by NYPD doesn’t tell the whole story.”
(AllHipHop News) The Oklahoma City Thunder, who once held a 3-1 lead over the juggernaut that is The Golden State Warriors, are heading home after losing Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, 96-88.
After being defeated three straight games, Kevin During and Oklahoma City found themselves in an intense battle to stay alive at Oracle Arena. But Oklahoma City could not withstand Golden States’ three-point shooting.
Steph Curry racked up 36 points and sank seven three-pointers. He also set an NBA record by making 32 three point shots in a seven game series. Klay Thompson ended the night with 21 points, landing six three-pointers of his own.
Oklahoma City led by as many as 13 points in the first half. However, the tide turned in the third quarter with Golden State outscoring their opposition 29-12.
Kevin Durant’s 29 points and the 19 points Russell Westbrook added were solid attempts, but their efforts were just not enough to stop Golden State.
According to NBA.com, 10 teams in history have come back from such a deficit to win a series. Golden State is the third team in history to rally from being down 3-1 to take a trip to The Finals.
Bay area rapper Lil B showed no mercy to his rival Kevin Durant and The Oklahoma City Thunder.
Rapper E-40 took over The Bleacher Report’s Snapchat during the game. He sat court side and showcased some behind the scenes Snaps. Snoop predicted Golden State would win, as did rapper Game and Oakland’s Too $hort.
E-40 showed a text message with Memphis rapper and “Law” collaborator Yo Gotti offering to bet up to a whopping $50,000 on Oklahoma City.
“He said he wanted to bet me $35,000, $40,000. I said ‘I spent that on the seats,'” E-40 laughed.
The Golden State Warriors will move on to face LeBron James and The Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday (June 2) in Oakland during a highly anticipated rematch of the the 2015 Finals.

(AllHipHop News) Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave has officially been arraigned on charges that include attempted murder, for his role in a backstage shooting during a concert headlined by T.I. last week.
Troy Ave, born Roland Collins and three other people were injured on May 25, after a fist fight turned deadly in a backstage green room at Irving Plaza in Manhattan.
Earlier in the week, police said all of the evidence was consistent with shots fired from Troy Ave’s 9mm, but they also left open the possibility that a revolver was also fired.
A close associate of Troy Ave’s named Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, 30, died after he was struck in the stomach.
Another 34-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, while a woman was hit in the knee and left with and shattered femur.
Over the weekend, Troy Ave underwent surgery after taking a bullet in the leg.
The arraignment on the attempted murder charge could mean there was another shooter responsible, but police have also stated they could upgrade the charges, depending on the results of ballistic tests.
“The most important thing in this case is that Troy Ave is an actual victim here,” Troy Ave’s attorney Scott Leemon told AllHipHop.com.
Assistant DA Christine Keena said police recovered three guns, including the one used in the shooting, in the van that transported Troy Ave to the hospital.
“This defendant is on video coming out of the VIP room where the individuals were shot,” Assistant DA Christine Keenan told The New York Daily News. ”He had the gun in his hand and was seen firing that gun in the direction of fleeing patrons.”
Attorney Scott Leemon said that the shocking video that was released by the NYPD showing Troy Ave blasting away only shows a portion of what happened.
“He didn’t shoot himself, he didn’t shoot his lifelong friend and bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter,” Scott Leemon told AllHipHop.com. “Ronald died a hero and should be remembered that way. The snippet of the video released by NYPD doesn’t tell the whole story.”
Troy Ave has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is being held without bail.
