Blueface Talks Expected Release Date & Chrisean Rock Romance In Prison Update

Blueface shared a promising update with his fans after his recent four-year sentence.

The “Thotiana” hitmaker discussed his sentence and expected release date during a phone interview on DJ Hed and Gina Views’ radio show Effective Immediately.

According to Blueface, he should be out by next spring. “So I got sentenced to four years,” Blueface shared. “I got a year credit, so that goes down to three years, and I gotta do 33 percent of that.” He expects to be released around March or April next year.

Earlier this month, a judge sentenced the rapper to four years in prison for violating his probation. The violation stemmed from an assault on a security guard at a club in San Fernando Valley back in 2021. His manager, Wack 100, said he expects Blueface to serve another nine or 10 months in prison.

Blueface Believes Chrisean Rock Will Be Released Before Him

Blueface also revealed he’s in regular contact with Chrisean Rock, the mother of his baby son, who is also behind bars. Rock is incarcerated at the Northeast Oklahoma Community Corrections Center in Vinita. While she faces an eight-year sentence, Blueface believes Rock will get out before him.

“We stay on the three-way, just got off the phone with her,” Blueface explained. “She’s doin’ alright, she’ll be out soon, sooner than me.”

However, Blueface revealed he hasn’t been able to see Chrisean Rock Jr. since the child’s mother was locked up. “Hopefully, when she gets out she’ll come bring him up here or what not,” he added.

Elsewhere during the interview, Blueface revealed he’s put on weight.

“I’m like 180 [pounds] right now,” he shared. “I’ve never been 180 before. I’m getting sized up, I’m about to bounce out looking like a dalmatian.”

It’s hardly surprising that Blueface has gained a few pounds. When asked how he spends his time, Blue admitted “I be jacking off, watching TV, eating Doritos and using the phone.” He added, “That’s pretty much it.”

Despite the months spent behind bars, Blueface wants to settle his beefs once he’s released.

EXCLUSIVE: J.J. Fad’s MC JB Suffered Silently For Years—Now She’s Telling Her Story

There had been signs. Juana Burns-Sperling—better known as MC JB of former Ruthless Records artists J.J. Fad—was at a party with a man who would eventually become her husband, when she decided she wanted to leave. He, however, wanted to stay. At this point, they’d been dating for about a year and she had no reason to expect what was coming next. Shortly after Burns-Sperling took off, she got a page from him that read simply, “1-8-7,” a not-so-veiled threat.

That was the first red flag that she admittedly ignored. After another year of dating, they wound up getting married when Burns-Sperling was 27.

“He was more in love with me than I was in love with him, but here’s the caveat,” she tells AllHipHop. “I had a daughter by him. When I got married, my daughter was two. I came from a Christian background and my standards and morals are so high.  I saw my high school friends having four or five different baby daddies, and I knew that was not gonna be me.

“I told my mom, ‘I like him, but I’m not in love.’ But my mom, who was a devout Christian, said I’d grow to love him. I had a baby with this person, and I didn’t want to have another baby daddy, so I went into that marriage not being in love. I’m not gonna lie; I did sort of love him, especially since we had kids. The relationship did develop, but I definitely went into it the wrong way.”

As time went on, the mask slowly began to peel away and the verbal abuse started. There were physical encounters, too. For 22 years, Burns-Sperling held on to this secret, afraid it would affect her music career. But now, she’s finally speaking up and blossoming into an incredible advocate for domestic violence victims. She launched a website and is doing speaking engagements in an effort to shed light on the issue, an issue too many women have experienced.

“I did a little self-reflection just to see where my mental health was and if I was still harboring negative feelings,” she says of deciding to break her silence. “I was actually talking to one of my girlfriends and she’s like, ‘You need to talk about this. This was a secret for 22 years. You not talking about it is not helping you. You need to get it all out.’ I started talking about it more to personal friends and realized it felt good, and it was making me feel better.

“I thought if I could help someone avoid that before they even get into it, have them notice the red flags, be aware of what this person is saying and just recognize the things that aren’t right in the beginning instead of excusing them, then maybe I could help them avoid a lot of pain and problems.”

Back in the late ’80s and ’90s, Burns-Sperling was crushing it as a member of J.J. Fad. The title track of their 1988 Ruthless Records debut, Supersonic, was massive and earned the group their first Grammy Award nomination. In fact, it was the first time a female Hip-Hop group had ever been given the honor. Their sophomore album, Not Just A Fad, arrived in 1990, and the trio continued touring. But it kept Burns-Sperling quiet about what was happening at home.

“I never said anything about the abuse because I was in J.J. Fad, and I didn’t want people to think, ‘Oh, she’s weak’ or ‘She’s in J.J. Fad. Why would she even put up with that?’ I was afraid of the backlash, which is really sad because I shouldn’t have been afraid of what people would think, but I was because I was in the public eye. When you’re in the public eye and you’re an artist, people think you’re invincible.

“People think you’re stronger than what you are. People think that you can walk away from anything with no problem because you’re in J.J. Fad. They don’t know the ins and outs. They don’t know that I have four beautiful kids that have the same dad. Who am I to leave that person and leave them without a dad? All the things that are intertwined in that relationship of 22 years. It’s not that easy just to walk out the door.”

Anyone who’s experienced any type of abuse in a romantic relationship knows how it destroys someone’s self-esteem to the point where it feels almost impossible to leave. Despite her level of notoriety, Burns-Sperling’s experience was no different. She adds, “The belittling and the calling you names and the ‘You’re nothing without me’ and ‘Nobody’s gonna want you’ comments, the more you hear that, the more you start to believe it.”

Burns-Sperling would often wish for a way to somehow be able to escape the cycle. She never imagined he would leave her.

“I bit the bullet and stayed for decades,” she says. “I would have been with that man until this day if he didn’t find another woman and file for divorce. But I prayed. I was like, ‘God, you got to get me out of this. Whatever you got to do, Lord, please help me get out of this situation.’

“For your dad to call your mama the c-word is not normal. I have all girls, and they’re all seeing this and hearing this. Yet I still couldn’t walk away because I didn’t want to uproot my kid’s lives. So, he fell in love with someone else and filed for divorce. I was so happy. Yes, my ego was bruised, but I’m so glad I am out of that situation.”

After taking some time to focus on herself and her mental health, Burns-Sperling is thriving. Not only does she still tour with J.J. Fad, she’s also maintaining her career as a nurse and coaching one of her daughter’s cheer teams while embracing her new role as a domestic violence victim advocate and mental health awareness coach.

“I’m keeping myself busy and all of that is so good for my mental health,” she says. “I’m establishing relationships with people that I have kind of put to their side because I just didn’t have time. Chuck D and I have ran an event together and spent some time together. I was able to call Dr. Dre recently. I’m taking all the steps to better myself.”

Burns-Sperling is currently accepting offers for speaking engagements and offering guidance and counseling on developing greater self-awareness, implementing tools to better manage their lives and pursuing specific mental health goals. In June, she was a featured panelist at the RAP 4 PEACE: A Hip-Hop Gun Violence Awareness Conference and Gala in Santa Monica alongside Chuck D. She hopes by telling her story, she’ll inspire others to come forward and get the support they truly deserve.

Jennifer Lopez Roasted Online Amid Ben Affleck Divorce

Jennifer Lopez has officially filed for divorce from Ben Affleck after two years of marriage.

The couple walked down the aisle in Las Vegas in July 2022 after rekindling their romance nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement in 2004.

While rumors of a split have circulated for months, TMZ confirmed Lopez personally filed for divorce in the Los Angeles Superior Court without the services of an attorney.

While the date of their separation was officially listed as 26 April, Lopez didn’t file until nearly four months later, on August 20. Moreover, the date she filed was significant, reportedly coinciding with the second anniversary of their second wedding ceremony in Savannah, Georgia.

The divorce documents do not indicate whether Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck signed a prenuptial agreement. However, sources close to the couple told the outlet no such prenup exists.

Per the filing, Lopez is waiving spousal support and requests that Affleck also not receive it.

Although neither Jennifer Lopez nor Ben Affleck have commented on the divorce, social media users had plenty to say.

“The BEFORE trilogy,” one person joked. “But it’s about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez reuniting every 20 years to give it another go.”

“Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got engaged, broke up, married other people, had children, reunited, got married, broke up again, and I’ve been single that whole time,” another user shared.

Andrew Tate’s Romanian Home Raided By Cops Investigating “Trafficking Of Minors”

Andrew Tate’s Romanian home was raided by authorities amid further disturbing allegations.

On Wednesday morning (August 21), dozens of masked officers descended on the property the self-described misogynist shares with his brother Tristan Tate, according to multiple reports

Romania’s anti-organized crime prosecuting unit DIICOT said the investigation concerned “a criminal case regarding the commission of the crimes of setting up an organized criminal group, trafficking of minors, human trafficking, sexual intercourse with a minor, influencing statements and money laundering.”

In addition to the fresh allegations, Tate is currently awaiting trial on human trafficking charges. He also faces charges of rape and creating an organized crime group with his brother Tristan. They have denied the allegations.

A rep for the problematic internet personality confirmed the raid and said that the Tate brothers’ legal team were present.

“Although the allegations in the search warrant are not yet fully clarified, they include suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering,” the rep said. They did not address the allegations concerning minors.

The Tate brothers spent several months in jail after being detained in December 2022, but they were released on house arrest the following April.

Earlier this year, two teenagers told the BBC that Tate approached them while they were still in high school. One claimed she was 16 years old when Andrew Tate messaged her on social media.

Meanwhile, in March, British authorities issued arrest warrants over alleged sexual offenses in Britain between 2012 and 2015. The Bucharest Court of Appeal granted the request to extradite the Tate brothers. However, the case will only proceed once legal proceedings in Romania have concluded.

Big Sean Accused Of Biting Kendrick Lamar’s Flow In Latest Single “Yes”

Big Sean recently attempted to clarify his long-rumored beef with Kendrick Lamar, but he now faces accusations he’s imitating the Pulitzer Prize winner’s flow.

On Tuesday (August 20), Sean continued his Better Me Than You rollout with a gritty Lyrical Lemonade-produced video for his latest single, “Yes.”

However, social media users believe Big Sean was heavily influenced by Kendrick Lamar. Amid the compliments, multiple comments about the “K. Dot flow” stood out in the Detroit MC’s Instagram comment section.

Instagram/Big Sean

It was a similar story on X (Twitter) where users claimed they could hear similarities with K. Dot or even his cousin Baby Keem in Sean’s latest song.

“Big Sean disliked kendrick lamar so much he started writing & sounding like they are family,” one user wrote. “Study your competition, don’t stalk them, you might just become a fam.”

“seeing Big Sean do his best Kendrick Lamar/Baby Keem impersonation on “Yes” is pure comedy,” added another.

A third person claimed Sean “turned into kendrick” after the Compton rapper dissed him on the original version of“ELEMENT.”

Big Sean Claims Kendrick Lamar Apologised For “ELEMENTS” Diss

Earlier this month, Sean revealed he prepared a response to “ELEMENT,” but scrapped it after K. Dot’s pgLang co-founder Dave Free told him it wasn’t a shot at him. While Big Sean admitted he was upset by the diss on the leaked version, he got over it because Kendrick Lamar cut it from the album version of “ELEMENT.”

Moreover, Sean explained that K. Dot apologized to him, so he never responded when the leak surfaced.

However, not everybody was convinced that Sean bit Lamar’s flow. Fans came to his defense, insisting that the “Yes” cadence is nothing new for Big Sean.

“Y’all showing your age thinking Big Sean stole that from baby Keem,” one person stated. “Big Sean been doing that for 10+ years.”

King Yella Begs For Cocaine, Admits Addiction & Asks For Help In Disturbing Rant

King Yella admitted to being high on cocaine while on livestream, claiming he’s hooked on the drug.

Earlier this week, the Chicago-bred rapper hopped on his YouTube channel for a live chat with fans. After talking for over an hour, Yella revealed his nose was dripping.

“I been doing too much cocaine,” he confessed before adding, “I go to stop that s###. Cocaine been f###### me up. It’s a good drug though.”

After pulling bizarre faces and asking his followers if they’ve got any cocaine, he began chanting, “I’m a cokehead. I’m a f###### cokehead,” repeating his request for some coke.

Nonetheless, concerned followers pushed back in the live chat. “Don’t act like I’m the only one that do cocaine,” he responded. “I’m finna be doing this s### everyday.”

King Yella then imitated snorting cocaine before asking his followers to do the drug with him. “Ain’t nothing wrong with cocaine,” he continued. “I love cocaine, that s### be having me blitzed.”

He also questioned the difference between him taking cocaine and others using lean or smoking weed. After pushing his face close to the camera so viewers could see up his nostrils, he continued.

“I’m on coke right now,” King Yella declared. “I’m coke, I’m a f###### cokehead. So what?”

He continued asking his followers for the drug and said he wanted to try the “pink” version.

On Tuesday (August 20), King Yella clipped a snippet of his coke rant, posting it on Instagram with a request for help.

“I need help lately I been off cocaine do y’all have some,” he captioned the since-deleted post. “Get me some help because that drug feel so great to me I feel like Superman off it.”

Nicki Minaj Shares Unreleased Drake Feature & Juice World Collabs Teasing “Pink Friday 2” Deluxe Album

Nicki Minaj is feeding the Barbs new music, teasing snippets from her upcoming Pink Friday 2 Deluxe album alongside a few other teasers of unreleased music, including a Drake collab.

On Tuesday night (August 20), Minaj sent her fanbase into a frenzy, sharing several never-heard-before songs while on Instagram Live.

“I will be doing a deluxe version of Pink Friday 2. It will be called Pink Friday 2 Gag City Reloaded,” she revealed. “It’s going to be out soon. Do I have the exact dates for you? No. Is it coming out this week? No. But it’s coming.”

She played her verse for Camila Cabello’s “Hot Uptown” song featuring Drake but revealed her version was never released. “I’m not on it but the song is out,” she shared.

Minaj also played snippets from “Anxiety” and “Mamita,” set to arrive on the deluxe, with the former proving to be a distinct fan favorite. Nicki Minaj explained that she wrote the chorus while pregnant and only recently recorded the verses.“ I love that one so much,” she said on the song, adding, “Isn’t that so beautiful?”

“Anxiety” includes the lyrics “another day of anxiety, I hate this society/how do you expect me to maintain my sobriety.”

After playing “Mamita,” she hinted at an exciting feature on the track, possibly from more than one artist. Moreover, Nicki Minaj said Pink Friday 2 Deluxe will include at least two more songs.

Nicki Minaj Shares Juice WRLD Collabs

Elsewhere on the live, the NYC rapper discussed her unreleased collabs with the late Juice WRLD.

“So, the question is do you guys think I should put the Juice World song on the deluxe?” she asked before playing multiple tracks. Among them was an alternate version of “Blonde Hair,” with a verse different from the one leaked in 2019.

“It would be incredible for me I think to have Juice WRLD on this album,” she said. “Because before he passed that’s what we were talking about. He recorded a bunch of stuff when he was in my studio but I don’t like to exploit people, and people’s deaths and stuff like that.”

Minaj claims she reconsidered after the late rapper’s team reached out to her to drop the track. Nonetheless, the song eventually leaked. However, Minaj considered writing a new verse as she doesn’t like either rendition.

Barack Obama Appears To Mock Donald Trump’s Manhood In Hilarious Joke During DNC Speech

Barack Obama had the DNC crowd in stitches after seemingly mocking the size of Donald Trump’s manhood on the second night of the Democratic National Convention

On Tuesday night (August 20), former President Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, delivered a stunning two-pronged attack on Trump, calling for the nation to embrace Kamala Harris as the next President.

Among the poignant words, Obama demonstrated his flare for public speaking with an expertly timed joke when calling out some of Trump’s attacks on Harris.

When mentioning his “weird obsession with crowd sizes,” Obama gestured with his hands as the Chicago crowd roared with laughter.

“Did Obama” began trending on X (Twitter) as users reacted to his Trump roast.

“Uh, uh… I’m aware I’m a degenerate and may misread things as such,” one person wrote. ‘But err… did Obama just use his hands to gesture that Trump has a tiny dick while mocking him for being obsessed with crowd size? Cause uh, I’m writing that into the historical record regardless.”

“Did Obama just make a size joke on stage at the #DNC with his hands re Trump?” another person asked. “This ain’t the“When they go low, we go high” party anymore.”

“Did Obama just make a small dick joke???” a third user asked in disbelief. “Tell me he just made a small dick joke. Please, we deserve this after all we’ve been through.”

Others still anticipated Trump’s reaction, with one person joking, “Trump is going to be hate posting until his thumbs bleed tomorrow.”

Barack Obama Warns: “Four More Years Of Chaos” Under Donald Trump

Elsewhere during his speech, Obama stated, “We do not need four more years of bluster and bumbling and chaos. We have seen that movie before, and we all know that the sequel is usually worse.”

He added, “America is ready for a new chapter. America is ready for a better story. We are ready for a President Kamala Harris.”

Meanwhile, Michelle Obama warned that Trump did “everything in his power to try to make people fear us,” and would do the same with Kamala Harris.

“His limited and narrow view of the world made him feel threatened by the existence of two hardworking, highly educated, successful people who also happened to be Black,” she said.

Michelle Obama also turned the tables on Trump’s high-criticized “Black jobs” remarks. “Who’s going to tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those ‘Black jobs’?” she asked.

Mick Jenkins Praises Freddie Gibbs Feature—Thinks Benny The Butcher Didn’t Know His Plan

Mick Jenkins has revealed the amusing details of how he managed to orchestrate one of the wildest mid rap beef reunions in recent Hip-Hop history.

In a recent bombshell interview on Way Up with Angela Yee, Jenkins revealed the calculated chaos behind the sequential features from feuding rappers Freddie Gibbs and Benny The Butcher on his latest album, The Patience. The Chicago rapper didn’t shy away from dishing out the juicy details of how he ended up with both verses, an outcome that seems almost too good to be true.

“Oh, I realized it when I did it,” Mick Jenkins responded with a grin wen asked if his decision was intentional to place Freddie and Benny’s features back to back on the album.

However, the storyline initially started out far less mischievous than one would think, considering the devious ending. Jenkins apparently had been tirelessly chasing Freddie Gibbs for a verse, a pursuit he claims lasted longer than a calendar year.

“I had been chasing Freddie for like a year and a half, right,” he said. “Seeing Freddie out multiple times. He from Gary, so basically a Chicago n###a, all love, but every time I hit him to do the record, no response.”

Jenkins rolled with the punches. He continued, “N###as will dap you up, chop it up, smoke with you, but when you want to work, you ain’t getting no response.”

Though his patience did indeed pay off eventually, Jenkins’ label ended up suggesting he try securing a feature from Benny The Butcher in the meantime while he awaits a response from Gibbs.

“My label loves Benny,” he said. The label want to get Benny. I’m like, alright, go ahead get Benny.”

But just as Benny’s verse came through, a twist of fate occurred.

“Really almost the same day we get Benny, 2 a.m. that morning, Freddie sent me the verse just out the blue, no heads up, no nothing,” he recalled.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Way Up With Angela Yee (@wayupwithyee)

With both verses in hand, Mick Jenkins believed he had something special and with that, he chose to lean directly into alignment with how fate allowed things to play out.

“So I’m like, damn, we really got a Freddie and a Benny verse, I’m finna put ’em back to back,” he said.

Mick Jenkins didn’t hold back when asked which verse was better, either. And while he ended up siding with Gibbs, he offered Benny the benefit of the doubt for what he feels as though could be considered a reserved performance.

“And I’m going to say it too, this is how I felt,” he said. “Holler at me, but I don’t think Benny knew what was going on. I’ve done what I believe Benny did, which is pay for—out of a 10, I give you one of my sevens. I give one of my sixes, you know what I’m saying? Because it’s still going to be fire. I don’t think Benny knew that I was about to do what I was about to do on that joint. I give him a pass. He ain’t come with it for real. Freddie verse was better.”

The decision to feature these two artists back to back is obviously an intriguing on given the history between them. The feud between Freddie Gibbs and Benny The Butcher was seemingly ignited following the Griselda MC’s criticism of their “One Way Flight” collaboration.

The beef has since escalated, with both artists taking shots at each other on social media and in their music. The pair were also involved in a physical altercation in the summer of 2022.

DJ Cassidy’s Roll Call & Lil Jon Cameo Steal The Show At Chicago’s DNC

DJ Cassidy and Lil Jon elevated the energy to unbelievable levels at the ongoing Democratic National Convention in Chicago following a surprise performance together.

On Tuesday (August 20), during day two of the convention, DJ Cassidy took his role as the Master of Ceremonies and crushed his post, handling the Roll Call for delegates to celebrate their votes for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

As he cruised through the states with a smooth playlist, things took a sharp turn as Georgia’s delegates were allowed to present their votes with the help of none other than Lil Jon.

Performing a medley of his hits, “Turn Down For What” and “Welcome To Atlanta,” Lil Jon and DJ Cassidy connected for an electric performance, providing an incendiary spark to the atmosphere at the DNC.

DJ Cassidy didn’t stop cutting up there between his seamless mixes and special guests. As the Roll Call continued, he brought out a series of special guest performers representing different regions of the country. Common also graced the stage for the Midwest, embodying the spirit of Chicago in front of an enthusiastic hometown crowd.

The Roll Call ceremony, often one of the more procedural moments of the convention, was transformed into a celebration of American culture, Hip-Hop and diversity, as DJ Cassidy’s set paid tribute to the music that has defined generations and brought people together across the country.

The energy in the room was palpable, as delegates and attendees danced along to the beats, united by the rhythms that bridged gaps between states and ideologies.

DJ Cassidy’s history of involvement with the Democratic National Convention runs deep. He first made waves at the DNC in 2012, when he performed at President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign events, quickly becoming a favorite for his ability to merge music with the political message of hope and change.

His unique talent for blending genres and eras of music has made him a go-to DJ for political events that aim to engage and energize diverse audiences.

In 2020, Cassidy’s “Pass the Mic” series, which featured iconic artists performing their greatest hits from their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, became a sensation, leading to his prominent role at that year’s virtual DNC.

Lil Yachty Accused Of Unfollowing Drake Amid Rumors He’s Being Cut From Their Leaked Collab

Drake and Lil Yachty may be at odds with each other—well, at least that’s what fans are currently speculating. While the evidence is somewhat inconclusive, nosy fans believe they have the receipts to back up their theory that Drizzy has upset Lil Boat and possibly fractured their relationship.

The circumstances causing the rift, one might ask? None other than one of the Toronto rapper‘s patented leaked releases. To be more specific, it appears the mellow drama may have erupted over the “Super Soak (S.O.D.)” collaboration that Yachty gave to streamer Kai Cenat to leak during a stream last month.

The track itself has seemingly already caused more than enough controversy, between Soulja Boy responding and threatening to figuratively choose violence should the song end up being a sneak diss, and Yachty revealing they leaked the song because they couldn’t get the sample cleared.

However, after reports that Drake is readying the song for an official release accompanied by a music video, but not a featured verse from Lil Boat as expected, the track has begun causing a stair once again.

Now, it appears the scandal attached to the release relates to Yachty’s alleged reaction to being taken off of the track. Instagram users pointed out that it appears as though Yachty unfollowed Drake on Instagram shortly after the rumors began circulating that his verse had been cut from the song.

But it appears as though the fan theory is either half-baked or Yachty was fully cooked on social media and reacted quickly considering fans also pointed out that Lil Boat appeared to be following Drizzy again after being called out on the timeline.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Though it feels like a bit of a reach to assume there is trouble in paradise for this collaborative pair based on a pair of screenshots from Instagram, the situation could also be very plausible. Yachty did end up swearing off of the Internet, after being roasted online following the interview he revealed the reason why social media influencer Mr. Hotspot denied clearing the sample for he and Drake in the first place.

“We couldn’t get the sample cleared so I just let Kai play it,” he shared. Yachty also announced that they were not officially releasing the track. “But it’s everywhere,” he said, adding that Mr. Hotspot “went down like a Christian path…it was crazy, everyone was like, ‘Are you serious?'”

In a sense, it wouldn’t be hard to believe that Lil Yachty is somewhat scorned by Drake’s choice to remove him from the track given all of the effort he’s put forth in order to bring it to the masses.

Ice-T, Treach & Chuck D Join Dozens Of MCs For “Spit Or Quit” Tribute To DJ Kay Slay

DJ Kay Slay died unexpectedly in 2022, leaving the Hip-Hop community in a state of shock. At the time of his passing, his friends and family vowed to carry on his legacy.

Legendary New York City promoter Van Silk is among those people. Last week, Van Silk released the first volume of “Spit or Quit,” a nearly 50-minute exposé of some of the best MCs in the business. From Ice-T and Naughty By Nature’s Treach to Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Digital Underground’s Money B, there’s no shortage of talent displayed throughout the video.

Other contributions come from fashion designer April Walker, Def Jam Recordings first publicist, Bill Adler, Video Music Box co-founder Ralph McDaniels and The Furious Five’s Melle Mel.

“‘Spit or Quit’ is a spin-off of my brother DJ Kay Slay’s ‘Rolling Deep’ series of MCs, which I helped with,” Van Silk explains to AllHipHop. “So myself, Nero and Kay Slay’s partner The General decided to continue the legacy. My team Preacha Earl, Freedom Williams, DJ Kevie Kev Rockwell, Sweety G and videographer E-Boogie got Volume One done with production by The Furious Five’s Rahiem and DaNyA the OG.”

DJ Kay Slay, whose real name was Keith Grayson, was hugely influential as a DJ, record executive and music producer. He was known for his work in promoting and breaking new Hip-Hop artists and impactful mixtapes, which often featured exclusive tracks and collaborations.

Kay Slay’s influence extended beyond the mixtape scene. He was also a radio personality, hosting “The Drama Hour” on New York’s Hot 97, where he played a mix of mainstream and underground Hip-Hop. His nickname, “The Drama King,” came from his reputation for being involved in high-profile beefs and playing diss tracks during Hip-Hop rivalries.

He released several studio albums, including The Streetsweeper series, which featured a mix of established and up-and-coming artists. He was not only respected for his dedication to Hip-Hop culture but also his ability to bring together artists from different regions and styles.

Kay Slay passed away on April 17, 2022 due to complications related to COVID-19. Following his death, Snoop Dogg, Ice-T, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, AZ, Run-DMC, Bun B, Big Daddy Kane, Coke La Rock, Kid Capri, Goodie Mob, B-Real, Memphis Bleek, Twista, E-40, Jim Jones and many more contributed to the biggest posse cut in Hip-Hop history, “Rolling 200 Deep.”

Released in November 2023, the track was divided into 16 parts spanning 62 minutes and featuring 200 rappers. It marked the fourth installment in DJ Kay Slay’s Rolling Deep series, which includes Rolling 25 Deep (2005) Rolling 50 Deep (2020) and Rolling 110 Deep (2021).

“I think Papoose oversaw the project once Slay passed,” Big Daddy Kane told AllHipHop at the time of its release. “I’m super glad that someone took this project over and got it out to truly send Kay Slay off with the honor and gratitude he deserves. He has always been a true supporter of authentic Hip-Hop and 200 MCs on the same track is a hell of a way to leave a legacy behind.”

A$AP Rocky & Ferg Reunite With Key A$AP Mob Members Amid Swirling Feud Rumors

ASAP Rocky, Ferg, ASAP Twelvyy and ASAP Illz may have effectively shushed the deafening buzz created by rumors about the demise of ASAP Mob.

On Monday (August 19), ASAP Illz shared a post on Instagram featuring several photos of himself, Rocky Ferg and Twelvyy casually hanging out on the block. Logistically speaking, It makes perfect sense that they all managed to link up at this specific window in time. Rocky was spotted recently filming a music video in Harlem with Dominican rapper Tokischa while Ferg has also made several appearances across the city throughout the summer.

Additionally, Rocky is readying his highly anticipated project Don’t Be Dumb while Ferg has been firing off a number of fresh releases, such as his “Hot Ones” single featuring Tia Corine and Denzel Curry.

“JUST ME N MY BRUDDAS,” Illz wrote in the caption of the post. “A$AP UP YOU HEARD MOBBING TILL THE CASKET DROP.”

The reunion of the aforementioned ASAP Mob members certainly provides a silver lining to the cloud of uncertainty that has been hanging over the collective as of late. While it’s somewhat known that Illz and Rocky are very close associates, it has been widely speculated that there is a growing rift between certain ASAP Mom members.

Due to the viral clip of Kai Cenat speaking with Rocky through the connection of Illz, it’s been clear that the “Goldie” rapper is still maintaining his relationship with Mob members.

However, Bari recently called Rocky out, claiming he was never properly compensated for creating the ASAP Mob, and Ferg recently dropped the ASAP from his official stage name. Not to mention ASAP Relli and Rocky are currently locked in a legal dispute over an alleged 2021 shooting incident.

Not to mention the small tidbit that Drake fans believe he recently took a shot at what was presumed a weak spot in the armor of the ASAP Mob on his leaked track “It’s Up.”

“Knocking off the name brand n###as in your crew/Heard you missed your dogs now long live who? Idiot,” Drake raps on the track.

No matter the case, it appears as though the brotherhood of the ASAP Mob shall always strive and prosper on—even through the outside noise.

Diddy Accused Of Ruining Cartel Member’s Drug Smuggling

A New York judge dismissed a cartel member named Alfredo P. Gonzalez’s defamation lawsuit against Diddy. Judge Laura Taylor Swain deemed Gonzalez’s case to be frivolous and lacking legal standing, per court documents obtained by NewsNation.

Gonzalez claimed Diddy destroyed the cartel member’s drug smuggling business. Gonzalez said he refused an offer to engage in sex trafficking for the Hip-Hop mogul, resulting in the loss of all his contacts in New York.

Judge Swain refused to let Gonzalez seek damages for his illegal activities. She noted his “business is not alleged to be a legally protected interest” in her ruling.

“Plaintiff, without any legal bases, appears to assert claims of defamation against the defendants, seeking damages arising from injury incurred to his illegal drug smuggling and sales business caused by the defendants’ alleged defamation of plaintiff because he refused to arrange sex trafficking of underage children for the defendants, including what appears to be international sex trafficking,” the judge wrote. “Since there are no apparent legal bases for any of these claims, the court additionally dismisses plaintiff’s claims as frivolous.”

Gonzalez is incarcerated at the Centennial Correctional Facility in Canon City, Colorado. He wanted $666,000 in damages.

Diddy is under federal investigation for sex trafficking. Homeland Security raided his homes in March. He has not been charged with a crime thus far, but a grand jury was empaneled to hear evidence in the federal probe. He maintains his innocence.

Multiple lawsuits have been filed against Diddy over the past year. The civil cases include sexual assault and sex trafficking allegations.

The Bad Boy Records founder settled one case with his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in November 2023. She sued Diddy for rape and years of abuse, among other claims.

Months after the settlement, the public saw footage of Diddy beating Ventura at a hotel in 2016. The video corroborated some of the details in Ventura’s lawsuit. Diddy said his behavior was “inexcusable” in a since-deleted apology on Instagram.

NBA YoungBoy’s Legal Troubles Get Messier With New Charge

The feds hit NBA YoungBoy with a new gun charge after he declared his intent to plead guilty in a separate weapon case. According to WAFB, he was charged with illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon stemming from his April arrest in Utah.

NBA YoungBoy was allegedly in possession of a Sig Sauer P365 9mm semi-automatic pistol when Utah authorities busted him for prescription drug fraud months ago. The Louisiana native is barred from possessing guns over his conviction for a 2016 shootout.

The 24-year-old rapper was indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of an unregistered firearm after his 2020 arrest in Louisiana. A federal judge dismissed the registration-related charge in March.

NBA YoungBoy was allowed to stay on house arrest in Utah despite his federal gun case in Louisiana. He was arrested for illegally obtaining promethazine with codeine from pharmacies while out on bond. He is now in a Utah jail.

Last week, NBA YoungBoy sought to transfer his 2020 gun case from Louisiana to Utah. As part of the request, he agreed to plead guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

“I wish to plead guilty to the offense charged, to consent to the disposition of the case in the District of Utah in which I am present and to wave trial in the [Middle District of Louisiana],” he said in a court filing.

The request was granted, but NBA YoungBoy must plead guilty for the case to remain in Utah. If he changes his mind, the case will move back to Louisiana. A change of plea hearing is scheduled for September 4.

NBA YoungBoy faces dozens of charges for prescription drug fraud in Utah. His charges include forgery, identity fraud and obtaining a prescription under false pretenses.

SIGNS: Black Ring Mysteriously Appears In Virginia Sky & Stops Traffic On Busy Highway

An ominous black ring in the sky recently stopped Virginia residents in their tracks, literally, leaving them baffled as is vanished just as quickly as it appeared.

A mysterious black ring hovering ominously over a highway in Williamsburg, Virginia, has left locals scratching their heads and snapping photos. According to the New York Post, The eerie sight appeared around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, sending social media into a frenzy as stunned onlookers captured the floating phenomenon from various angles.

The ring, which many assumed was a plume of smoke, lingered in the sky for nearly 10 minutes before completely vanishing, according to witness Ron Stepp, who quickly shared his footage with local news station WAVY TV 10. Despite the ominous appearance of the dark circle, officials from the James City County Fire Department confirmed there were no reports of fires or explosions in the area, leaving the cause of the strange spectacle a complete mystery.

Ricky Mathews, a meteorologist for the station, offered a possible explanation, suggesting that the ring could have been caused by concentrated fire rising from pyrotechnics, perhaps staged for a film production. Another meteorologist, Steve Fundaro, speculated that the unusual formation might have been the result of industrial work or a controlled explosion.

The sighting has since taken social media by storm, with residents calling the spectacle “crazy” and questioning “WHAT THE…?” as they tried to make sense of the bizarre event.

This isn’t the first time an unexplained ring has appeared in the sky, leaving people bewildered. Similar phenomena have been reported in recent years, such as the infamous “smoke rings” that appeared over Kazakhstan and the UK, which were later attributed to accidental releases from nearby factories or pyrotechnic displays gone awry. Historically, there have been accounts of such atmospheric anomalies dating back to ancient times, often sparking fears of supernatural or extraterrestrial activity. Whether the Williamsburg ring was the result of pyrotechnics or something more mysterious, it certainly has people talking.

George Floyd Case’s Shocking Update: Ex-Cop Gets Out Of Prison

Thomas Lane, one of the former Minneapolis police officers responsible for George Floyd’s 2020 death, was released from prison on Tuesday (August 20). Ex-cop Derek Chauvin murdered Floyd during an infamous arrest in Minnesota. Lane assisted in the deadly restraint of the victim.

Lane is the first man involved in Floyd’s death to be released from prison. The former officer was convicted of violating Floyd’s civil rights in 2022. Lane was sentenced to two and a half years in federal prison. He was also found guilty on state charges of aiding and abetting manslaughter. A judge sentenced him to three years in prison with two years served concurrently with his federal sentence.

“The tragic death of George Floyd makes clear the fatal consequences that can result from a police officer’s failure to intervene to protect people in their custody,” Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said. “Had this defendant and other officers on the scene with Derek Chauvin taken simple steps, George Floyd would be alive today. This sentence should send a message that protecting people in custody is the affirmative duty and obligation of every law enforcement officer, regardless of one’s rank or seniority.”

Lane’s federal sentence ended in February. He stayed in a Colorado prison to finish serving time for his state-level charges. He will be on supervised release for one year.

J. Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao, two other ex-cops convicted for their roles in Floyd’s death, are expected to be released from prison in 2025. Kueng and Thao were guilty of the same charges as Lane.

Chauvin received the harshest punishment for Floyd’s death. Chauvin was the cop who knelt on Floyd’s neck for roughly nine minutes. The disgraced officer was convicted of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. He was sentenced to 22 and a half years behind bars.

EXCLUSIVE: Diddy Mounts Vigorous Defense Over Decades-Old Assault Allegations

Diddy is fighting to have a rape and battery lawsuit dismissed, claiming the accusations are unfounded, baseless and barred by law.

Diddy is pushing back against the lawsuit filed by a woman named April Lampros, who accused him of multiple instances of rape and battery that allegedly occurred from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s.

The lawsuit, filed in the New York County Supreme Court, also names Bad Boy Records, Arista Records and Sony Music Entertainment as defendants.

“April Lampros filed this baseless lawsuit more than twenty years after the end of her romantic relationship with [Diddy] represented by an attorney who regularly sues celebrities and was recently chastised by a federal judge for ‘improperly fil[ing] cases to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly,'” Diddy’s lawyer Erica Wolff said.

Lampros alleges that Diddy offered to mentor her in the music and fashion industries but instead subjected her to a manipulative and abusive relationship.

Lampros detailed several alleged assaults, including an incident in 1995 where Diddy purportedly raped her in a hotel room after coercing her into drinking.

Another claim states that he forced her to perform oral sex in a parking garage.

In 1996, Lampros claims that Diddy compelled her and his then-girlfriend, Kim Porter, to take ecstasy and engage in sexual acts before raping her.

Further, Lampros alleges another assault happened at her apartment between 2000 and 2001. Diddy has denied all allegations, and his attorney has described the claims as “pure fiction.” The embattled mogul is now trying to get the lawsuit out of court.

“Lampros does not allege how or where [Diddy] purportedly touched her, nor does she claim she sustained any physical injuries,” Erica Wolff explained.

Diddy and Bad Boy Records seek to dismiss the lawsuit, citing various legal grounds. Diddy’s legal team argues that the claims are time-barred, meaning they were filed after the expiration of the statute of limitations for such allegations.

Furthermore, the lawsuit invokes New York City’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law (GMVL) and the Adult Survivors Act of 2022 (ASA) to support the claims. Diddy’s defense team contends that the GMVL claim is not applicable retroactively, as some of the alleged incidents predate the law’s enactment.

Additionally, the lawsuit attempts to hold Bad Boy Records accountable for the alleged misconduct by Diddy.

However, Diddy’s lawyers argue that Bad Boy Records cannot be held liable for actions not within the scope of Diddy’s employment at the record label since none of the alleged incidents happened at the business.

Moreover, the legal team points out that the GMVL did not initially apply to corporate entities like Bad Boy Records, and the amendment expanding liability to such entities is not retroactive. Therefore, the claim against Bad Boy Records under the GMVL is deemed invalid.

Based on the arguments presented, Diddy and Bad Boy Records seek to dismiss the lawsuit. The legal battle continues as both sides present their case before the court.

Nelly Name-Dropped As Union President Reveals “Trump Is A Scab” Shirt At DNC

Nelly was unexpectedly quoted at the 2024 Democratic National Convention on Monday (August 19). United Automobile Workers President Shawn Fain referenced Nelly’s song “Hot In Herre” before revealing a shirt emblazoned with the phrase “Trump is a scab.”

“In the words of the great American poet Nelly, it’s getting hot in here,” Fain said.

Fain endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential race. The union leader said the upcoming election offers a clear choice for working-class voters.

“For us in the labor movement, it’s real simple: Kamala Harris is one of us,” he declared.

President Joe Biden closed out the first night of the DNC. He reflected on his political career and showed his support for Harris.

“Kamala and Tim [Walz] understand that this nation must continue to be a place of possibilities,” he said. “Not just for a few of us, but for all of us. Join me in dedicating your whole heart to this effort. And with all my heart, I promise I’ll be the best volunteer Harris and Walz’s camp have ever seen.”

He added, “I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my career. But I gave my best to you. For 50 years, like many of you, I’ve given my heart and soul to our nation. And I’ve been blessed a million times in return for the support of the American people. I’ve really been too young to be in the Senate because I wasn’t 30 yet and too old to stay as president. But I hope you know how grateful I am to all of you … I can honestly say I’m more optimistic about the future than I was when I was elected as a 29-year-old United States Senator. I mean it.”

Harris will officially accept the Democratic presidential nomination on Thursday (August 22).
