Is DMX Expecting His 13th Child?

Word on the street is that DMX is expecting his 13th child with his current girlfriend. X and these kids!!! Part of the reason DMX and his ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, divorced was because he fathered several children outside of their marriage. He had his 12th child in 2013 with his former fiancee. It might be time for a vasectomy buddy! But congrats to the couple nonetheless!

50 Cent Opens Up On Love, Says “Fame Tainted My Friendships”

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent has tainted friendships by offering pals jobs, as to not be accused of “leaving everyone behind.”

The “In Da Club” rapper rose to fame quickly in the early 2000s with the help of Eminem and Dr. Dre, which saw his lifestyle change rapidly – he once lived in Mike Tyson’s former mansion in Connecticut.

Quizzed on whether he extended invites to old friends to join him on his journey up, 50  – real name Curtis Jackson – admitted he struggled to figure out how to handle the situation at first.

“I went from a basement apartment in Queens to a 50,000-square-foot house, and when you’re successful, it’s valuable to have people around who represent what was there before all the confusion started,” he told Vanity Fair. “But you know what happens? If you don’t take people with you, they say you left everyone behind. And if you get them involved in your businesses and provide an opportunity for them to better their life, they become someone who works for you. Then that taints the relationship.”

The 40-year-old rapper has experienced plenty of ups and downs in his life so far, such as being shot nine times and filing for bankruptcy. That hasn’t held him back though as 50 has even branched into acting, most recently playing a boxing manager in 2015’s “Southpaw” opposite Jake Gyllenhaal.

His love life has been turbulent and he isn’t sure whether he’ll ever tie the knot.

“Yes (I dated Chelsea Handler), for eight months,” he said. “If you’re around her long enough, to know her is to love her. She has a captivating personality; she’s just totally honest – do you know how difficult that can be?

“I’m not sure (whether I’ll get married). I do want the friendship that I think can be priceless, and if that’s what comes along with it, I’ll take that.”

EXCLUSIVE: DMK Talks Appearing On ‘Empire’, The Rise Of Girl Groups & Being Big Fans Of Brandy

(AllHipHop Features) The lineage of R&B girl groups includes several three-character monikers such as TLC, SWV and 3LW. A new female trio out of Detroit is looking to join that list of hit makers, and DMK is off to a great start to reaching that goal.

Over 9 million people watched DMK perform on the popular series Empire last week. Damoli, Melanee, and Kourtney were chosen from nearly 6,000 acts looking to win Fox’s “Next Empire Artist’ contest. The winner was guaranteed an appearance on an episode of the smash drama.

Besides getting to share TV time with the Lyon family, DMK also appeared on the Empire: Original Soundtrack Season 2 Volume 2 album. In addition, the vocalists recently premiered their new self-titled EP on the entertainment platform TIDAL.

AllHipHop.com connected with the three stars-on-the-rise to find out about their recent television gig. DMK also discusses being part of the TIDAL Discovery program, the public’s revived interest in girl groups, and getting the chance to sing for R&B veteran Brandy.

How did growing up in Detroit influence your musical style?

Melanee: Growing up in the city has had a huge influence on us. Kourtney’s grandfather is actually Levi Stubbs from the Four Tops, so we literally have Motown running through our blood.

Your single “Love The Way You Love” has a New Jack Swing/1990’s feel. Are you fans of that era’s music?

Damoli: Absolutely, we are huge fans of En Vogue and SWV and the sound they embodied.

Kourtney: Exactly, we try to take that feel and give it our own sound. But we are definitely influenced by those 90’s groups.

How was the experience of appearing on Empire?

M: It was an amazing experience. They treated us like regulars on the show when we went to film, not like contest winners. Everyone embraced us. It was a really cool experience.

What has been some of the reaction from your performance?

D: People have been really showing support. We had a watch party in Detroit the day the show aired, and we barely were able to get in! [laughs] It was that many people. It’s been really encouraging.

K: We’ve gotten a big response on social media as well. Empire is such a huge platform, a lot of people who may not have known about us have been hitting us up. Kinda crazy.

Can we expect to see you on future episodes?

M: You gotta stay tuned! [laughs]

Why did you decide to premiere your EP and music video on TIDAL?

M: We have a really good team, and they wanted to make sure we put music out as the show was airing. And TIDAL has been a huge supporter of ours, so it only made sense.

How has the relationship with the TIDAL Discovery program impacted your career?

D: Tremendously! They’ve been showing support from the beginning. They premiered our first video, and we got the chance to sing the national anthem at CC Sabathia and Roc Nation’s charity event last month. We’ve been able to use the platform to expose our music to people we wouldn’t have reached without them. Shout out to Jason!

Girl groups seem to be making a comeback. Why do you think the public is receptive to embracing girl groups again?

K: Good question. I think because it’s time. It’s been so long that people are seeing the new groups and it’s taking them back to a place where R&B music thrived.

When can we expect a full DMK studio album?

K: We just released our new self-titled EP which is available everywhere! Hopefully you guys will get an album before the year is out!

I saw you got the chance to sing for Brandy. Could a possible DMK/Brandy collaboration be in the works?

M: It’s so crazy that you ask that. I actually just posted the picture we took with her as the anniversary of when we met her! It would be incredible to work with her! Brandy, if you see this girl, we love you! [laughs]

We met & sang for our favorite singer @4everBrandy! She was so sweet! She even started to sing w| us. We are so blessed to have had this opportunity. #Brandy Part 1! #Singers #DMK #Detroit #RnB #Music #GirlGroup #L4L #4everbrandy #Rocket #Beyonce #Beyhive

Rapper Demrick Aims For Breakout Success With New Album “Collect Call”

(AllHipHop News) Spokane, Washington native/South Kelly fixture Demrick is preparing for the June release of his second album, titled Collect Call.

Over the past few years, Demrick has become one of the emerging artists out of California, even though he’s been plugging away at it for well over 10 years.

For Demrick, Collect Call is the culmination of years of hard work as a fiercely independent artist.

Before his close association with Dizzy Wright and other members of the Funk Volume crew, Demrick was a member of B-Real and Xzibit’s group the Serial Killers. He formed his first rap group, Tangled Thoughts in 2005 as a highschooler in Philadelphia.

Demrick decided to leave the East coast upon the advice of rapper Kurupt, and headed for the West coast to pursue his career. Last year, Demrick dropped the critically acclaimed Stoney Point album with DJ Hoppa as well as his first album Losing Focus with Cali Cleve for Battle Axe Records.

“I really represent the theory that ‘anything is possible,’” Demrick explained. “This is my best and most honest work to date.”

Demrick - "Collect Calls" Artwork

Part of his story is explained in “Back in the Daze,” which recounts his decision to leave Spokane for the East coast to pursue his career.

“I actually called my mother on the phone and used part of our conversation on the record,” Demrick explained to AllHipHop.com. “The crazy thing is we haven’t really ever spoken about that story until the day of this actual conversation on the record. I was sitting with my boy Ace, and we were just talking about some of by wild stories when I was young. Halfway through the conversation, we just decided to put it on record since its such an outlandish story. I felt people needed to hear it not only for the value of the story, but for the significance it has in who I became. It truly was the turning point of my life going down the right path rather than becoming a follower of others.”

Collect Call is due in stores June 24.

The album features production from Scoop Deville and guest appearances from California artists Casey Veggies and Lil Debbie.

An Explanation Of The Drug That Put A Halt to Deontay Wilder vs. Alexander Povetkin Heavyweight Battle

Just days shy of fight week, the May 21, 2016 battle that was to have been Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder’s (36-0, 35KOs) fifth defense of his WBC World Heavyweight Championship title vs. Alexander Povetkin (30-1, 22KOs) has been called off in accordance with the news that broke on Friday, May 13, 2016 that Povetkin had failed a drug test.

Povetkin, who is the WBC’s No. 1 heavy weight championship contender, tested positive for a banned substance in a urine test conducted by the Las Vegas-based Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) on April 27, 2016, as per a press release issued by Swanson Communications via email on May 15, 2016.  The fight was scheduled to take place in Moscow.

The illegal substance that was detected in Povetkin’s system as a result of testing was meldonium.

Meldonium, which is also known in some circles by the trade name Mildronate, is believed to be an advantage in athletic competition because of it’s ability to markedly increase blood flow via enlargement of the blood vessels.

Due to these enhanced properties, the drug has been on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) list of banned substances for athletes since January 2016.

While doping is not an issue that is foreign to professional boxing, this charge comes right on the heels of the United States Department of Justice opening joint investigations on numerous state sponsored Russian athletes based on a report the World Anti-Doping Agency issued in November accusing Russia of systematic state sponsored doping across many different athletic disciplines, as reported today by The New York Times.

As such, the emerging story could be one that ranges far outside of the confines of professional boxing and Wilder’s desire to defend his title.

However, understandably for Wilder, the blow remains more personal than systemic when it comes to missing his chance to face Povetkin in the ring.

“I’m very disappointed that due to Povetkin’s failed drug test the fight is not going to happen on May 21 in Moscow,” said Wilder. ” I had worked very hard to prepare myself for this important title defense, spending the last two weeks training in England to get accustomed to fighting in Europe,” continued the Tuscaloosa, Alabama native, adding: “This is a huge disappointment and a setback to my goals in boxing.  I want to be an active heavyweight champion and it is still my goal to collect all the belts and become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world,” said Wilder in closing.

Mariah was a guest on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday night. The legendary diva was asked to say three nice things about Nicki, and the lack of response was telling.

“Can you?” Carey fired back to host Andy Cohen.

The star of the Mariah’s World docu-series added, “I always felt it was more important with that situation, not to plead the fifth, but just to stay above the fray. Because you don’t want to be déclassé. You just want to move it along.”

Cohen’s “Plead The Fifth” game also included Mariah being questioned about the rumors Beyoncé’s Lemonade album is a response to Jay Z cheating. The 5-time Grammy winner downplayed the gossip.

“When we write songs as artists, a lot of the time it’s a made-up story,” explained Carey. “I didn’t speak to either one of them about it, so I would never be like, ‘Here’s my opinion.'”

Affiliate Of Rapper Bobby Shmurda Sentenced to 98 Years In Prison

(AllHipHop News) An alleged member of Bobby Shmurda’s GS9 crew has been convicted of multiple charges including murder and sentenced to almost 100 years in prison.

According to the New York Daily News, Rashid Derissant, 24, was sentenced to a little over 98 years in prison earlier today (May 17).

Federal authorities claim Derissant, 24, was the triggerman behind the death of a 19-year-old rival in Brooklyn back in February 2013.

He was convicted of a littney of other charges as well, the most serious among them being murder and attempted murder.

Bobby Shmurda is expected to be tried this September and will face the same charges according to reports.

The rapper, birth name Ackquille Pollard, has pleaded not guilty. He has been held on $2 million bail since he was originally arrested with 14 others on conspiracy and gun charges in December of 2014.

The “Hot Boy” rapper, who attempted to have his bail lowered seven times to no avail, nonetheless denied the charges against him.

“Bullst. I’m gonna say st like that. That s### is bulls**t,” Bobby Shmurda told Billboard in a lengthy Q&A in February of 2015. “I come from a bad neighborhood. They’re mad – they’re upset that somebody my age made it out and is making so much money and stuff like that.”

The snippet is being played in the background of the video as Wayne’s friends chill on his tour bus.
