Raygun Claims She’s Australia’s Best Breaker Despite Viral Olympics Disaster

Australian b-girl Rachael “Raygun” Gunn discussed her widely mocked breaking performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics in an interview with The Project. Raygun insisted she rightfully earned her spot in the Olympics by winning the Oceania Championships.

“I think my record speaks to that,” she said. “I was the top-ranked Australian b-girl in 2020 and 2022 and 2023 … The record is there. But anything can happen in a battle.”

Raygun’s performance faced tremendous backlash as many viewers wondered how she was allowed to compete on such a big stage. Raygun defended her breaking credentials but admitted she was outmatched in the Olympics.

“I knew my chances were slim,” she said. “As soon as I qualified, I was like, ‘Oh my god, what have I done?’ Because I knew that I was gonna get beaten and I knew people were not gonna understand my style and what I was gonna do.”

Rumors spread about Raygun and her husband conspiring to get her into the Olympics. Various organizers refuted these claims, but the perception lingered.

“The conspiracy theories were just awful,” she said. “That was really—that was upsetting because it wasn’t just people that didn’t understand breaking and were just angry about my performance. It was people now attacking our reputation and integrity. None of them were grounded in any kind of facts. And obviously they’re still circulating. People still don’t believe the truth, but we do live in a different world now.”

Raygun was shocked by the amount of hate she received for her performance. She believed much of the outrage stemmed from people not understanding “the diversity of approaches in breaking.”

“I’m still in the process of trying to describe how I feel about all this stuff,” she said. “’Cause it kinda feels like a really weird dream that I’ve been having that I’m gonna wake up from at any moment. Like, what is life right now?”

Japan’s Ami Yuasa won the women’s Olympic breaking competition in Paris. The sport won’t be part of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Cardi B Refutes Ice Spice Comparisons After Star Brim Friendship Faces Scrutiny

Cardi B defended her friendship with Star Brim after their relationship was dragged into Ice Spice’s tour-related drama with former friend Cleotrapa. Cardi B refused to ignore claims about her using Star Brim in an X (formerly known as Twitter) Spaces session on Wednesday (September 4).

“Don’t compare my friendships, my situation to anybody’s s###,” she said. “That’s one. All of my friendships, even with the people I work with, are five-year plus. I don’t know why y’all see me – a light-skin girl with a brown-skin, dark-skin girl – y’all wanna compare what I have with my friends with somebody else’s s###. Don’t do that! Because we don’t do that.”

Ice Spice faced backlash for her team’s alleged mistreatment of fellow rapper Cleotrapa on tour. The experience ruined their friendship as their bad blood went public.

Comparisons to Cardi B’s friendship with Star Brim emerged on social media due to superficial aspects. Fans focused on the dynamics of a famous, light-skin rapper being friends with a lesser-known, dark-skin woman.

“We don’t see skin color over here,” Cardi B said. “We see loyalty.”

Cardi B scoffed at casual observers thinking they understood the truth of her relationship with Star Brim. The Atlantic Records artist said friendship isn’t something she takes lightly.

“I don’t trust a lot of people,” she said. “I don’t trust a lot of women … I been cool with Star since 2016.”

Cardi B told fans she needed to speak out to combat narratives about her and Star Brim. She thought the Ice Spice and Cleotrapa comparisons gained too much traction on social media.

The outspoken rapper mentioned Azealia Banks commenting on the situation as an example of the topic becoming too big to ignore. Banks was one of the prominent voices defending Cardi B and Star Brim in the online debate.

Azealia Banks Bashes Ice Spice & Manager, Taps Cleotrapa For Upcoming Show

Cleotrapa has found an ally in Azealia Banks amid her bitter dispute with Ice Spice.

On Wednesday morning (September 3), Banks took to social media to announce she had invited Cleo to perform with her next month. She called out Cleo’s critics and vowed to before slamming Ice Spice and her manager.

“I don’t like how everyone is trying to make cleotrapa look,” Banks began. “@iamcleotrapa will be performing with me on Halloween Oct 31. at  @Terminal5NYC. She will – be paid, have her own space to glam, whatever she wants on her rider.. because i have f###### respect & class.”

She continued, “Period. End Of Discussion,” before adding, “She can have 50 different styles of chicken salads,” she added. “It’s whatever she desires.”

Azealia Banks Fires At Ice Spice & Her Manager

Azealia Banks then turned to the Bronx-bred rapper’s manager, who criticized Cleotrapa for acting entitled and blamed her team for not managing their artist’s expectations.

“Ice spices manager is a bird ass n#### 4 trying to add insult to injury when a young girl is expressing how she feels,” Banks wrote. “He’s trying to make cleo look like an amateur when the fact that he’s even chiming in at all is ghetto, low class and a huge sign of having zero skin in the game.”

Banks then unleashed her fury on Ice Spice.  “How about he get his artist some filler for those smile lines,” she snapped. “She’s aging like f###### milk.”

The tension between Ice Spice and her former friend Cleotrapa arose after the latter slammed the former in a lengthy rant, complaining about her experience on tour. Cleo claimed the “Munch” rapper said she would cover her expenses, but instead, she was forced to pay out of pocket. She had to fork out for five star hotels and claimed the rapper’s team refused to pay for a chicken salad on one occasion.

Ice Spice fired back, claiming she was trying to help out a friend before mocking her with a Twitter poll.

It’s not the first time Azealia Banks has come for ice Spice. The problematic artist previously called her out over her Y2K! album aesthetic.

Desiigner Fires Back At 50 Cent In New Diss: “You Was Never Worth A Deal”

Desiigner is determined to prove 50 Cent wrong, dropping off a diss track in response to the G-Unit’s explanation about why he passed on signing him.

Earlier this week, 50 Cent revealed he had the opportunity to sign Desiigner amid the success of his breakout single “Panda” in 2016. However, he decided not to when he learned the New York native had no other hits.

Desiigner caught wind of Fiddy’s remarks and fired back with a diss track. He posted a video from a car while reading bars from his phone. “Response back to 50 Cent,” he wrote on the video. “POV: Another HIT.”

N##### talking that 50 Cent, I be talking 50 mil,” Desiigner rapped. “I got signed to Kanye, lil n####, you was never worth a deal.”

However, the track wasn’t especially well received, and critics flooded the comment section.

“This dude doesn’t even look confident reading the verse,” one person wrote. “Straight dookie water,” said another user alongside multiple crying with-laughter emojis. “Like bro I could’ve ghost write a diss for u.”

Another person anticipated 50 Cent’s reaction, writing, “50 bouta have a field day with this.”

Desiigner also responded to 50 Cent in several Instagram Story posts. He argued that while he may not have a catalog of hits, he has “shows all around the planet” and outperforms most artists.

“I might not have had every record that went diamond, but come to my shows and see how I activate the crowd,” he stated. “You know how hard it is to catch a diamond record? I’m one of the few artists in New York City out of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn to go diamond. And people over here trying to judge me for a diamond record.”

Young Thug Erupts With Laughter In Viral Trial Moment Sparked By Lil Woody

Lil Woody provided another moment of light relief in the contentions and slow-moving YSL RICO trial, and Young Thug couldn’t contain his laughter.

Kenneth “Woody” Copeland was back on the witness stand on Tuesday (September 3). At one point, he was asked whether Young Thug had a problem with Rich Homie Quan coming over.

However, he got tired of answering questions and attempted to get the answer directly from the horse’s mouth.

“Thug, did you have an issue with Rich Homie?” Woody asks Thug. Another camera angle shows Young Thug in fits of laughter, hiding his face in his hands and shaking his head. He continued laughing as several others, including his attorney Brian Steele, joined in.

Lil Woody has been a controversial figure in the Young Thug trial since first taking the stand on June 7. He’s been evasive, frequently declining to answer questions and has even admitted to lying during police interviews.

Last month, he confessed to shooting up the barbershop owned by the father of rapper Rich Homie Quan.

However, the Atlanta rapper called Lil Woody out during a recent interview, accusing him of “exaggerating” and “embellishing” the truth about the years-old incident.

“The barbershop did get shot up,” Quan confirmed. “It wasn’t like what he said it was. The same day the barbershop got shot up, it was back up and running, so it couldn’t have been like what he said it was.”

Lil Woody also went viral last month after enticing Young Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, to use the n-word.

City Girls’ JT Refuses To Rank Female Rappers In “Messy” Interview Question

JT may have had her fair share of drama with female rappers, but she refused to be drawn out when asked to rank them in a recent interview.

She’s had spats with Cardi B and GloRilla, among others, and has even traded words with her former City Girls partner Yung Miami. Nonetheless, she declined to rank the current crop of female rap stars.

JT and singer-songwriter Kali Uchis faced off in the latest episode of “Hot Ones.” The pair traded questions and had to “Tell the truth, or suffer the wrath of the Last Dab.” The object of the game was to answer as many questions as possible and avoid eating the wings.

“You’ve long been one of the most successful women working in rap,” Uchis began. “Rank these other female rappers from most to least talented; Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Latto, Cardi B.”

JT was reluctant to answer, replying, “I’m not going to lie, this is hard.” She explained, “My heart is pounding to answer this, but not in that type of way because I’m shaking cuz I don’t want to eat this wing.”

The wing was so spicy that she began sneezing. However, despite the heat, JT went ahead and ate the wing over ranking female rappers. However, JT did protest at the question.

“That’s a messy question, Hot Ones. I’mma bite this chicken,” she said as Kali Uchis declared, “This is for women empowerment.”

JT agreed, adding, “I’m taking this spicy m############ bite to lift women up. And I don’t eat spicy food.”

While she refused to rank her peers, JT confirmed her favorite rapper was Nicki Minaj.

JT shared her debut solo mixtape, City Cinderella, earlier this year after the City Girls split. She is currently on tour and had fans in Atlanta going crazy with a surprise guest, her “OKAY” collaborator, Jeezy.

Blueface’s Dad Shares Hopeful Update Amid Chrisean Rock Jr.’s Birthday Celebrations

Blueface’s father is celebrating his grandson Chrisean Rock Jr. on his first birthday.

The little boy turned one on Wednesday (September 30,” and Johnathan Michael Porter Sr. made sure to show his grandson some birthday love, albeit not in person. Both parents are currently incarcerated and placed the baby with a trusted caregiver.

Blueface’s father stood beside a table full of gifts and birthday decorations while paying tribute to his grandchild. He looks forward to the day Chrisean and Junior can open the gifts, which he indicated could be as soon as next week.

“I wanted to wish Chrisean Jr. a happy first birthday,” he said in the video. “I hope you are having an amazing, blessed day. Free Blueface. We’re all hoping that they free Chrisean next week so she and Jr. can go online and open all you guys’ beautiful gifts.”

Blueface’s father’s update arrives amid rumors Chrisean Rock is scheduled to be released on September 9. Rock was extradited to Oklahoma last month on drug-related charges and is facing eight years behind bars.

A judge recently sentenced Blueface to four years, but he expects to be released by next spring and believes Rock will get out before him.

“We stay on the three-way, just got off the phone with her,” Blueface explained in a recent update from jail. “She’s doin’ alright, she’ll be out soon, sooner than me.”

In an earlier update, Blueface’s father revealed his grandson had made significant progress.

Ice Spice Trolls Cleotrapa As Fans Divided Over Rift

Ice Spice is trolling her former friend Cleotrapa after a falling out over drama on tour.

The beef erupted earlier this week after Cleo slammed the “munch” hitmaker in a lengthy rant over tour mishaps. Ice Spice fired back, blasting Cleotrapa for acting “entitled,” insisting she was genuinely trying to help out a friend.

On Tuesday evening (September 3), Ice Spice taunted Cleo with a poll on X (Twitter.) She seemingly leaned into her former friend’s claims that she was not a good person while simultaneously mocking her.

“On my flight bored so lets play would u rather !!” she wrote alongside the options “Be a mean bad b####” and “Be a stupid bum b####.”

The Bronx-bred rapper continued trolling with another poll referencing complaints over food on the tour. Cleotrapa had claimed Ice Spice’s team refused to pay for her chicken salad while on tour and recalled another incident where she alleged they all left her and secretly went to eat at a steak house.

“what should I do for dinner,” Ice Spice asked. “Steakhouse” or “chicken salad.”

Although she has since deleted the poll, it rubbed some fans the wrong way. “lol this kinda just validates everything that was said about her,” one person shared.

Cleotrapa Denies Ice Spice’s Manager Spoken To Her Team

Fans are divided over the rift, with some defending Ice Spice, insisting she did nothing wrong, and coming out of pocket as an opening act is fairly typical. Others argue Cleotrapa was mistreated and Ice promised to cover tour expenses.

Ice’s manager, James Rosemond Jr., waded into the beef, blaming Cleo’s team for not explaining the realities of touring.  He also claimed he spoke to Cleo’s manager who, “blames himself,” something Cleo denies.

“The way he lying LMFAOOO,” she tweeted. “My manager ain’t speak to that man cause why tf would he be chattin afterwards.”

Ralo Fires Back Boosie Badazz In Heated Rant: “Rather Have A War Than A Conversation SMH”

Boosie Badazz and Ralo are continuing their back and forth after recently reigniting their beef

Ralo fired the first shot, claiming he didn’t want to be “on stage like Boosie rapping when he 40, 50 years old.” Boosie returned fire, accusing Ralo of clout chasing and trashing his musical talent in a fiery X (Twitter) rant on Thursday (September 3).

Ralo swiftly responded on Instagram Live, insisting he did not diss Boosie. He also questioned why the Louisiana rapper would be at him for saying he doesn’t want to be performing “at a certain stage” in his career.

He also insisted that there is nothing wrong with “the G.O.A.T.s” performing in their 40s and 50s, it’s just not for him.

“When I get that age, I want to be worshiping my Lord,” he asserted. “I want to be deep involved in my religion and in my community.”

Elsewhere during the Live, he claimed he had helped Boosie financially before but never publicized it.  “You sent your girlfriend over there to get some money,” he added. “Not for no features, not for no verses, just because you needed it.”

Moreover, Ralo continued to deny Boosie’s snitching allegations, inviting him to “a paperwork party.”

Meanwhile, Boosie continued on X (Twitter). He repeated the clout-chasing allegations and arguing that Ralo is trapped in a prison mindset.

“U LOOKING FOR CLOUT IM LOOKING FOR BAGZ OF MONEY N SUCCESS!” he began. “YOUR MIND HAS NOT ELEVATED AT ALL BRO FROM BEING N PRISON.”

Additionally, he claimed going to jail “DONT MAKE US REAL ‘IT MAKE US STUPID’.”

Ralo replied, rejecting the clout-chasing claims and stating that “Auntie” Boosie should be honored to help “us youngsters before we crash out.”

He added, “N##### rather have a war than a conversation… smh [face palm emoji].”

Fat Joe Goes Shirtless In “Outta Control” Video With Remy Ma, Fans Have Thoughts

Fat Joe is causing a stir on social media as fans take in his shirtless appearance in the visuals for his latest collab with Remy Ma, “Outta Control.”

On Tuesday evening (September 3,) the duo shared the video for the Cool & Dre produced track, which samples DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince’s 1991 hit “Summertime.”

While the initial reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans particularly loving Remy’s blistering verse, Fat Joe raised eyebrows with his shirtless appearance. Although Remy Ma also appears topless in the visuals, the Terror Squad leader was trending as fans shared their thoughts on the video.

“Maaaan I almost asked why they got this lady sitting with her breasts all out and it’s just Fat Joe,” one person shared.

“B#### why fat Joe t###### out,” another user questioned. A third person added, “Remy look good af & she ate the verse Joe needs to not do that again.”

However, others pointed out the double standard around male body positivity and acceptance. “why fat joe and remy ma don’t got no shirts on???” one person asked.

Meanwhile, Fat Joe is gearing up to release his first solo album in 14 years since releasing The Darkside Vol. 1 in 2010. He recently teased the lead single featuring DJ Khaled and Brazilian singer Anitta. Fat Joe revealed the trio will debut the song live at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on September 11.

Travis Scott’s “Days Before Rodeo” Ties Nicki Minaj’s Mixtape Re-Release Record

Travis Scott is in the throws of conversation with music industry juggernaut artists such as Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj following his latest album debut showdown.

On Tuesday (September 3), the anniversary re-release of Days Before Rodeo DBR generated more than 361,000 first-week unit sales, thus securing the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200, according to HITS Daily Double.

Though pop star Sabrina Carpenter beat La Flame for the top spot by less than 1,000 units, Scott was able to nab two noteworthy achievements with the healthy debut of his 2014 mixtape. In addition to tying Nicki Minaj’s chart position for the highest charting mixtape re-release with her reissued Beam Me Up Scotty project, Scott also landed himself among the top five highest debuts of the year so far, just behind Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER album.

The successful debut of the project marks yet another high point for Scott, who’s coming off of the No. 1 debut of his 2023 album, UTOPIA album, but there was still a fair amount of controversy surrounding DBR’s chart position. Scott was accused of forcing his way to a chart-topping debut after releasing multiple additional versions of the mixtape ahead of the end of the tracking week after news broke he was in a tight battle for the top spot with Carpenter. A number of fans also suspected that Carpenter began throwing shade at Scott based on a tweet she shared amid the sales showdown.

“This one’s for Nicki,” Sabrina Carpenter wrote in a tweet recently. Fans immediately picked up on the “Espresso” vocalist’s reference to Scott and Minaj’s 2018 showdown when Scott’s ASTROWORLD prevailed over Minaj’s Queen album, causing the New York City-bred rapper to criticize the Texas native as a result.

“It’s because Travis Scott is out here selling f###ing clothes, and got y’all thinking he’s selling f###ing music,” Nicki Minaj said. “What we’re not going to do is have this Auto-Tune man coming up here selling f–king sweaters and telling y’all he sold half a million f–king albums, ’cause he didn’t.”

Additionally, a leaked image of data from the tracking week originally forecasted DBR of moving 365,817 album-equivalent units in its first week of availability whereas Carpenter’s sixth album, Short N’ Sweet, notched 354,436 album-equivalent units.

Boosie Badazz Trashes Ralo’s Music As Beef Reignites: “Leave Hip-Hop Alone”

Boosie Badazz disparaged Ralo’s musical talent in a fiery rant on Thursday (September 3). Boosie unleashed his vitriol after Ralo dissed the ill-tempered rapper on social media.

“I HAVE NOT SPOKE ON YOU N YEARS @ralofamgoon,” Boosie wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “U STILL HURT BY WHAT U DID!! WHAT U DID lol IM GRATEFUL THAT IM STILL MAKING 150k A WEEKEND N SELLING OUT SHOWS. U DONT HAVE A RAP CAREER N WILL NEVER HAVE ONE!! N U RIGHT U SHOULD BE A CEO. CAUSE ONE THING YOU CANT DO ‘IS MAKE MUSIC.’ GOD DID NOT GIVE U THAT TALENT #leavehiphopalone.”

Ralo claimed he’s focused on being a CEO in a viral clip, which included a shot at Boosie. Ralo told fans he didn’t want to be “on stage like Boosie rapping when he 40, 50 years old.”

Boosie Badazz called Ralo a clout chaser. The former collaborators have been at odds since Ralo was accused of snitching.

“EVERY OTHER MONTH U MENTIONING ME SMH GET ME OFF YOUR MIND N STOP USING MY NAME FOR CLOUT,” Boosie wrote. “U GOT MY LINE IF U WANT TELL ME SOMETHING!! IM THE SAME N#### DID A VERSE N VIDEO FOR FREE FOR U WHEN WAS LOCKED UP N REFUSED TO TAKE THE 10k U WAS TRYNA PAY ME. U GET NO POINTS FOR S### LIKE THIS. Anyway I’m bout to listen to these beats n make some music I just hope u not doing the same thing.”

Ralo responded, “I love you auuunnntttiieeee…”

Why Is Ice Spice Losing Tons of Followers and Streams?

Something’s going on. Ice Spice has been steadily losing followers over the last year. Most recently, she lost 540,000 Instagram followers. This loss would be cool if something happened due to some major event, but it occurred over just 12 days. Today alone, she lost 8,000 followers, according to @thepopflop.

The platform didn’t offer any significant reasoning for this loss, but let’s take their word for it. Maybe we can get to the bottom of it all. I doubt even a significant number of religious followers are involved, but there have been recent allegations that she was throwing up devil signs. This isn’t the first time she’s been accused of this; it seems to happen repeatedly. Of course, she has denied these allegations, but there are a few instances where it looks like she’s just throwing random signs with her hands. Personally, I don’t think there’s any affiliation with the Illuminati and the pop rapper.

Ice Spice Accused Of Making Satanic Gestures During Prayer With Streamer

Moving on, 2022 was Ice Spice’s breakout year. But in 2024, when her debut album dropped, we’ve seen much less of a breakout and more of a decline. She lost millions of followers on Spotify. Most recently, it seems she lost 39 million monthly listeners over a year. There are likely several reasons behind this. Some say that Spotify removed bots from the platform, while others attribute it to a decline in Ice Spice’s popularity. It could just be a combination of factors.

Last but not least, and this is the most frivolous thing: Ice Spice has lost a lot of weight lately. That booty is not as big as it used to be. I like a big booty! So, when she started shedding weight as if it wasn’t attractive. Maybe some people stopped following because of that. She literally has a song called “Phat Butt.” How can you have a song with that title and a flat butt? Just kidding—her backside is hardly flat!

There is a good side to all of this. Despite everything, Ice Spice is still one of the most streamed rappers ever. She’s got streams in the billions. The same goes for her Instagram. Although she’s lost half a million followers, she still has upwards of 12 million followers on the platform. She is not like us, struggling to gain followers. She’s doing quite well.

Now, the big question is: Can she bring the artistic side that captivates our ears like she’s captivated our minds and l####?

I still follow you, Isis! I’m going to stream the album now!

Kanye West’s “Telepathy” Blamed For Attempted Kidnapping & Car Theft

A woman claimed she was following Kanye West’s orders after police arrested her for attempted kidnapping and auto theft in Evansville, Indiana on August 30. Louisville’s Ricki Smith said Ye telepathically told her to steal a car, per an affidavit obtained by the Courier Journal.

Smith told cops she was traveling from Louisville to Evansville when her car broke down. She hitchhiked the rest of the way.

The woman ended up in a parking lot where a witness saw her attempt to open multiple vehicles. Smith eventually found an unlocked door and sat in the car. The witness told her to get out of the vehicle and leave the area, but she continued her search for another unlocked car.

Smith found her opportunity when a woman exited her vehicle to walk to a nearby store. Smith jumped in the victim’s car, which had a child in the backseat.

The witness tried to intervene again by pulling Smith out of the car. The victim saw what was happening, ran back to her vehicle and yanked Smith out by her hair. Smith attempted to explain her actions to the police, mistaking the word “telegraphically” for “telepathically.”

“Kanye West speaks to me telegraphically and told me to steal the vehicle,” she said.

Smith was booked in the Vanderburgh County Jail. Her court hearing is scheduled for Thursday (September 5).

Rich Homie Quan Calls Lil Woody “A Liar” For Claiming He Shot Up His Dad’s Barbershop

Rich Homie Quan has addressed Lil Woody’s recent testimony during a hearing part of the ongoing YSL RICO Trial.

In his latest interview, the Atlanta rapper called Lil Woody out by name for allegedly “exaggerating” and “embellishing” the truth. Woody, a former associate of Young Thug, claimed he was responsible for shooting up a barbershop owned by Quan’s father. The incident, which took place several years ago, has resurfaced in the media spotlight due to Woody’s bold statements on the shooting in the courtroom.

In response, Quan proclaimed that “Woody’s a liar,” even though he acknowledged the shooting did occur. However, he quickly downplayed the severity of the event and backed up his side of the story by providing evidence of such.

“The barbershop did get shot up,” Quan confirmed. “It wasn’t like what he said it was. The same day the barbershop got shot up, it was back up and running, so it couldn’t have been like what he said it was.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

While Quan refrained from delving too deeply into the specifics, his remarks implied that the individuals close to the matter were well in the know about the occurrence before Woody divulged about it on the stand.

“Shout out to Woody, but n##### know,” he added.

After he asked Judge Paige Reese Whitaker if he could be charged with a crime, and it was confirmed he wouldn’t be, Lil Woody detailed his involvement in the 2014 shooting. He explained that he and an associate known as “Threat” decided to target the barbershop as part of an ongoing feud.

“Me and Threat shot up Rich Homie Quan’s dad’s barbershop on Bankhead. It wasn’t about him personally, but we needed to send a message that we ain’t the ones to play with…we ain’t the ones to play with, and we wanted to make it clear that nobody should be messing with us or trying to test our loyalty.”

The tension between Quan and Young Thug, who is currently facing RICO charges alongside other YSL members, dates back to their fallout several years ago. The two were once close collaborators and part of the Rich Gang collective, but their relationship soured, leading to public feuds and diss tracks. This animosity may have played a role in the alleged targeting of Quan’s father’s business. Despite the resurfacing of this old feud, Rich Homie Quan seems determined to keep the focus on his music and career, choosing not to dwell on past conflicts.

Drakeo The Ruler’s Wrongful Death Suit Bogged Down In Legal Dispute Over Culpability

The University of Southern California asked to be removed from a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of Drakeo the Ruler, who was fatally stabbed in 2021.

USC filed a motion to dismiss, denying any responsibility for Drakeo’s death on August 29.

Judge Kerry Bensinger is scheduled to consider the motion at a hearing on November 18.

“The backstage area where [Drakeo] was attacked was not a part of the Coliseum property, the Sports Arena property or any property leased or controlled by USC,” the university argued, according to local outlets in Los Angeles.

Drakeo, whose real name was Darrell Caldwell, was stabbed to death backstage at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. festival in 2021.

The event was held at the BMO Stadium, formerly known as Banc of California Stadium, in Exposition Park.

The stadium is near the Los Angeles Coliseum, the home of the USC Trojans.

“USC was not involved in the production of the music festival itself,” USC’s lawyers wrote. “It was not involved in selecting the performers, setting the performance schedule or determining how many all-access passes any artist would be allocated.”

Drakeo’s family sued Live Nation, USC and others for not providing enough security at the event. His murder remains unsolved.

“It was a major tragedy on how this happened and the lack of security at the venue,” the mother of the late rapper’s son Caiden told AllHipHop in 2022. “No one has any answers for his son. I’m sitting here constantly trying to talk to my son and let him know that everything is going to be ok even though you won’t see your dad again.”

A judge ruled against Live Nation’s bid to dismiss the lawsuit in 2023.

The judge said, “The performing artists’ safety was a concern for defendants and foreseeable to defendants.”

Ice Spice’s Manager Jumps In Cleotrapa Drama With Clout Chasing Claims

Ice Spice’s manager James Rosemond Jr. criticized her former friend Cleotrapa amid beef over tour issues on Tuesday (September 3). Rosemond defended his artist after Cleotrapa bashed Ice Spice for alleged mistreatment.

“This is what happens when an artist’s team dont manage their artists expectations when an opportunity comes in front of them,” Rosemond wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “If you not prepared for an opportunity and your team isn’t properly advancing then that’s on them. Not on us offering the opportunity. You have to invest in yourself, aka pay expenses if need be for the opportunity. It’s corny. Someone gives you an opportunity and this is the thanks the person gets. Openers dont have same things headliners has.”

He continued, “The Entitlement and ego are crazy. An artist (and their team) needs to know what to do when these opportunities come their way. They need to know how to leverage it to advance their career. But some artists just don’t know how to come out with HITS so they crash out and go on rants.”

Cleotrapa claimed she was told her expenses would be covered when Ice Spice invited the lesser-known rapper on tour. Cleotrapa said she was forced to pay for her hotel rooms and dress in bathrooms instead of dressing rooms, among other grievances. She mentioned one incident in which Ice Spice’s team refused to buy her a chicken salad despite Cleotrapa’s hunger.

Ice Spice insisted she was “genuinely trying to help” Cleotrapa. Rosemond blamed Cleotrapa’s team for not explaining the realities of the touring situation to her.

“My team spoke to the artist’s mngr this morning & the artist’s mngr said he blames himself becuz he pushed his client to stay becuz it was a great opportunity…but he knows his client is 100% wrong,” Rosemond wrote. “The mngr realized his client didn’t have the financial backin to be on the tour.”

Rosemond accused Cleotrapa of clout chasing. He believed Cleotrapa’s complaints were misguided.

“What rubs me the wrong way is we live in TikTok / social media economy where people know how to go viral for clout and they go public with something that can be handle from a private phone call to speak on differences,” he wrote. “I’m big on fairness & unity, peace & love. Best way to live to sleep at night. But we have to be grateful of opportunities that we get. Sometimes the experience is NOT what we expected & that’s OK. You learn from it & move forward. The public bashing just means therapy is needed.”

What Doc Will Irv Gotti Do Without DMX’s Family?

Damn, Irv.

Recently, Irv Gotti, the former A&R, beatmaker, and mogul, announced that he is working on a documentary about the late, great DMX. The iconic rapper passed away a few years ago, and his absence has been deeply felt ever since.

For those who may not know, Irv Gotti was once an A&R at Def Jam Records, where he played a pivotal role in DMX’s early success. There’s a reason why Ja Rule and DMX have a similar sound—Gotti was instrumental in signing Ja Rule and guiding his rise to fame. While Ja Rule wasn’t necessarily a copycat, the similarities between the two artists were undeniable.

Now, Irv Gotti has expressed his desire to create a documentary about DMX. But here’s the twist: DMX’s family has said, “No.” In fact, they even wrote a letter to make their stance clear.

In light of recent speculation, the family of Earl Simmons, professionally known as Hip-Hop rap artist DMX, wish to confirm that we are not collaborating with Irv Gotti, nor have we agreed to partner with him on any content related to Earl, including a biopic.

DMX is an iconic figure in the music industry, and his life and legacy hold great significance. As we consider potential projects related to his story, we commit to ensuring they are treated with the utmost respect and integrity.

We appreciate the continued support and interest from fans and the public. We will share any official announcements about future projects through our official channels.

So, what do you think? Can Irv Gotti still make this documentary? Legally, it’s unclear. He might have some footage that the family doesn’t own, or he could interview people who knew DMX to piece together a new story. If I had to guess, I’d say the documentary would likely focus on DMX’s early days as he ascended to superstardom. But, without the family and his ex-wife?

On a personal note, I think Irv Gotti should focus on his health. He recently suffered a stroke, and he’s not even 60 yet. He should take a moment to appreciate the fact that he’s still alive and take care of himself. However, knowing Gotti’s relentless hustle, I’m sure he’ll keep pushing forward—especially after 50 Cent mocked his stroke.

For now, I’m out.

Hot Boys Reunion Moves Ahead For Lil Wayne’s Annual NOLA Festival

The Hot Boys will finally reunite at a festival in their hometown of New Orleans. Live Nation and Lil Wayne announced his reunion with Juvenile, B.G. and Turk for the 2024 Lil WeezyAna Fest, which will be held at the Smoothie King Center on November 2.

“Lil Wayne embodies the spirit of New Orleans, and Lil WeezyAna Fest is a stellar showcase of the city’s dynamic and flourishing music scene,” Live Nation Urban’s Brandon Pankey said. “Live Nation Urban celebrates this amazing event and is proud to continue to partner and cultivate the growth of this festival for years to come.”

Fans thought the Hot Boys were reuniting for the “30 Years of Cash Money” celebration at the 2024 Essence Festival in July. Lil Wayne, Juvenile and B.G. performed at the event. Turk was noticeably absent.

Lil Wayne did a solo set instead of joining Juvenile and B.G. at Essence Fest. Rumors suggested Lil Wayne refused to participate in a reunion without Turk.

Turk’s exclusion stemmed from his lingering issues with B.G. and Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman. B.G. criticized Turk in a post-show livestream.

“It’s only one n#### ain’t in this b####,” B.G. said on Instagram Live. “He brought that on himself. N#### did a bunch of hoe s###.”

Juvenile appeared to be a driving force in keeping Hot Boys reunion hopes alive. He stayed on good terms with B.G. and Turk throughout their beef.

Less than two weeks before the Lil WeezyAna Fest announcement, Turk extended an olive branch to B.G.

“I’m just believing that everything gon’ work itself out,” Turk said in an interview with B High. “It’s over with on my end. I don’t have no issue, no problem. And hope that [B.G.] sees this.”

Lil Wayne’s Lil WeezyAna Fest returns to New Orleans after a one-year hiatus. The festival has typically been held at Champions Square outside the Caesars Superdome. This year’s edition moves to the nearby Smoothie King Center, the home of the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans.
