DJ Mustard To Release Debut Album "10 Summers" As Free Download For Limited Time (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Roc Nation’s DJ Mustard is getting ready to release his debut album. The L.A. native round up numerous big name artists for the 12-track 10 Summers LP.

The album will feature guest appearances by YG, Jeezy, Nipsey Hussle, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Lil Boosie, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Fabolous, Tinashe, and more.

10 Summers will be available at most digital retailers on August 26, but Mustard is also releasing the project for free at the Google Play Music store for two weeks starting August 12. Fans will be able to listen to the project via Google’s All Access streaming service as well.

“I’m excited to share this music with my fans and Google is a great way to get the music directly to them,” states DJ Mustard.

Bishop Nehru Announces Release Date For "NehruvianDOOM" Joint Album With Doom

(AllHipHop News) Rising teenage rhymer Bishop Nehru has partnered with veteran emcee MF Doom for an upcoming joint project titled NehruvianDOOM. The album now has an official release date. Bishop revealed on Twitter the joint effort will be available in September.

Bishop previously dropped the Nehruvia and StrictlyFLOWz mixtapes. Last month he teamed with Dizzy Wright to release the 3-track BrILLiant Youth EP produced by 9th Wonder.

This has been a breakout year for Bishop. Besides working on collaborative projects with Doom and Dizzy, the New York resident signed a deal with Nas’ newly formed Mass Appeal Records.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Bone Thugs And Wu Tang?

Hmmmmmmm…this is something I never thought of in recent history, but semi, sorta make sense now that the cat is semi, sorta out of the bag. Seems like Krazyzie Bone has started a rumor that there may be some sort of of Wu Tang/Bone Thugs-N-Harmony album in the works. Seems like he posted something online about it and even gave a comment to VIBE magazine. Here is what he said.

“Man, we have never had the opportunity to connect and do something with Wu-Tang, but I’m good friends with RZA and Method. The other cats I haven’t got to hang out with as much. Met Raekwon a couple of times. He’s cool. Met Ghostface, but you know—every time I talk to RZA and Meth, we talk about doing something. It’s long overdue. It’s just getting everyone’s schedules together and actually making it happen. We’ve talked about it. Everybody is down. I have ideas, because it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while. I’d like to start off with a Bone and Wu cypher—get everybody warmed up and just kill it. That’d be crazy.”

Clearly, Krayzie Bone is hype and on Instagram, he said: This Really Needs To Happen ASAP!!!!!”

Will it happen? That seems to be a tall order considering Wu Tang can’t even crank out their own group album. But, I will just stay positive and see.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Guess Who Is Quietly P##### At The Game!

The Game has moved into OG status as a crop of young rappers has moved into the mix of things. Well, not to be outdone, Game is here to say, “Y’all can’t f**k with me!” I am sure you heard his newest song “Bigger Than Me.” Well on the song, he goes in on new rappers, particularly the ones on the Freshman cover of XXL mag. You know those dues. But, on the song, he doesn’t name a lot of names as to who he is dissing. But, Frank Ocean pops up. He says, “A-yo Frank Ocean – go ‘head and f**k these f**k ni**as!” I am hearing that Frank Ocean, who is bi-sexual or gay, was not pleased to be included in the song is such a way. If he were a rapper, I bet he would come out dissing or something. But, a source told me Frank is just annoyed at it all and feels disrespected. I think Frankie should let it be known, if this is true facts! Bust a move!

Zendaya Coleman Explains Why She Was Not "Morally Okay" Playing Aaliyah In Biopic (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Trying to be someone else is hard enough when it’s not one of the most revered artists in R&B of the past 20 years. In a recent interview, the actress originally set to play Aaliyah in the upcoming Lifetime biopic Aaliyah: Princess of R&B.

Last Friday (July 18th), Alexandra Shipp was announced as the new star of the Aaliyah biopic after Zendaya Coleman dropped out last month. According to Coleman’s three part Instagram message, she did not feel “morally okay moving forward with the production” for a number of reasons, one being disagreements with Aaliyah’s family over music rights and more:

The reason I chose not to do the Aaliyah movie had nothing to do with the haters or people telling me I couldn’t do it. I wasn’t talented enough or I wasn’t black enough. The main reasons were the production value wasn’t there. There were complications with the music rights and I felt like it wasn’t being handled delicately considering the situation and I tried my best to reach out to the family on my own.

Days after Coleman was announced as the lead actress in the Lifetime movie, Aaliyah’s uncle and former manager Barry Hankerson informed TMZ that Aaliyah’s family was displeased with Lifetime’s refusal to involve members of the family. Hankerson claimed that the family would block any usage of Aaliyah’s music in the film.

Minister Louis Farrakhan Addresses Jay Electronica, Jay Z & The Nation of Islam at The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival

(AllHipHop News) Minister Louis Farrakhan saw Jay Electronica and Jay Z perform at the 10th annual Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival and approves. In an extensive letter penned by Farrakhan for Final Call, the esteemed leader addressed criticism Jay Electronica received following his performance and more.

Farrakhan writes that he is “very proud of the Fruit of Islam (F.O.I.) and the Believers who stood with Brother Jay Electronica as he delivered what he delivered to the people” at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. Farrakhan also admits that Jay Electronica was not “perfect in his representation” of the Islamic beliefs, but reasoned why it was acceptable:

I understand that some criticized Brother Jay Electronica’s use of profanity while wearing the uniform of the Fruit of Islam (F.O.I.) of The Nation of Islam.  I humbly and respectfully ask:  Has any of us who have accepted Islam and its required high degree of moral excellence and civilization ever said or done anything that is less than representative of what we believe?  I am sure that all of us, if we are honest, would have to say that we have

At the end of Jay Z’s appearance during Jay Electronica’s set, the Roc Nation boss placed a 5 Percenter chain over Electronica’s head and proclaimed “peace to the gods.” According to Farrakhan, that is a moment even he would have enjoyed:

So, if someone offered me what Brother Jay Electronica was offered by Brother Jay Z, I too would accept it with the biggest smile on my face, for I too, as all of us in The Nation of Islam, are The Five Percent:  Poor Righteous Teachers who are called to teach the 85 Percent, and free them from the chains of slavery and subservience as tools of the 10 Percent.

Master P Set To Release Biopic Trilogy, First Movie Set To Film In 2015

(AllHipHop News) The Master P biography will be broken up into three separate movies The Ice Cream Man, TRU and No Limit The Empire. The Ice Cream Man will cover Master P’s early upbringing prior to forming No Limit Records in 1990 with TRU and No Limit The Empire covering the labels formation and commercial dominance in the mid to late 90s, respectively.

CP3 Filmworks is currently casting actors to play the younger Percy Miller.
In the 1990’s Master P set an unprecedented number of record sales as he sold over 75 million albums independently through his self-made, multi-million dollar empire. The Ice Cream Man goes into production in 2015 with TRU and No Limit The Empire going into production 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Trilogy

I). Master P the Ice Cream man is the introduction to the three piece biography of the greatest trilogy since the Godfather. (Production 2015)

II). TRU the second part of the bio pic. A glimpse of how the Miller brothers come together to form one of the most influential groups in hip hop. Their success was unheard of for a southern hip hop group, that escaped the mean streets of New Orleans. (Production 2016)

III). No Limit the Empire The final of the trilogy where Master P and his artists controlled a large share of the music industry, at one time had over 18 records on the top 200 billboard charts at the same time. Making No Limit Records the most powerful and successful Record Company in the industry. (Production 2017)

Saul Williams Connects Iggy Azaela To The Failure Of Tupac-Inspired "Holler If Ya Hear Me"

(AllHipHop News) A post-racial America may still be an illusion. During a recent interview, Saul Williams explained why the Tupac-inspired Broadway musical Holler If Your Hear Me recently closed and explained how its failure is connected to Iggy Azaela’s success.

Williams starred in the musical which was forced to shut down this past Sunday (July 20th) after only two months and 55 performances. In a statement from producer of Holler If Ya Hear Me Eric L. Gold, “financial burdens of Broadway” caused the play to have to be discontinued. Rolling Stone reported that two weeks before the musical ended, ticket sales were less than 17% of the projected sales expectation. Williams laughed off the excuse of financial burdens causing the play to stop in a recent interview with Rolling Stone stating “everyone knows you can’t come to Broadway with short money”. Following that statement, Williams explains a “deeper sociological reasoning” behind the play’s failure:

 I think it’s something deeper. There is no disconnect between this and Iggy Azalea, an Australian girl rapping with a southern accent, being Number One on the charts. It’s all related to where we are right now as a culture and within the culture of the arts.

Williams also recalls instances during the play’s run when members of discount Broadway ticketing company TKTS would give bad reviews to interested pedestrians. Williams states that one of the producers of the play asked one of the TKTS employees about Holler If Ya Hear Me:

One of our producers came in really angry because he had spoken to one of the TKTS people [who man Broadway ticket-selling booths] — not saying she was a producer — and asked them, “What about Holler? Should I see that?” And the response of the person who is supposed to guide tourists to plays was like, “It’s a bit of a downer. It’s not necessarily as fun as” whatever other play they mentioned. Then she approached another one and that person was like, “Oh, it got really bad reviews.” We started a street team at the last minute to counter those TKTS people who are really supposed to be promoting everything on Broadway.

Richard Pryor Jr. Alleges His Father's Widow Illegally Obtained Pryor's Rights

(AllHipHop News) Richard Pryor Jr is fine with another man portraying his father in an upcoming biopic, but he is not ok with the film being made. Reports have surfaced that the son of the late great comedian is threatening legal action if his step mother, Jennifer Lee Pryor continues with the Lee Daniels-directed biopic.

Documents obtained my TMZ state that Pryor Jr alleges his stepmother illegally obtained his father’s rights in 2005, months before he died from multiple sclerosis. Pryor Jr threatens to attempt to have the film stopped if his stepmother proceeds with its production.

Jennifer Lee Pryor informed IFC last year that she plans to release Pryor’s diaries. The diaries reportedly delve into his formative years living in a brothel ran by his grandmother in Peoria, Illinois.

Former Destiny's Child Member Arrested For Disorderly Conduct

(AllHipHop News) During their run, Destiny Child’s went through several line up changes. One version of the girl group featured Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and Farrah Franklin.

Farrah only lasted in DC for a few months and has been virtually out of the limelight since, except for occasional run ins with the law. Now the California native is back in the news once again for another arrest.

The Daily Mail reports Franklin was arrested on Sunday morning in South Carolina for disorderly conduct. The singer was said to have been partying with football players Ricky Sapp and Da’Quan Bowers.

The police were called after Franklin left Sapp’s apartment alone. She was later found in a stranger’s front yard believed to be “highly intoxicated.”

Sapp and Bowers told authorities they believed Franklin had been doing drugs. Franklin apparently told police she wanted to sleep in the woods because she had nowhere else to go. She was arrested and then released on bond.

This is the second time Franklin has been arrested for disorderly conduct. She was also taken into custody in 2011 in Los Angeles for the same offense.
