Fabolous Reveals When He’s Dropping Next Album

(AllHipHop News) Fabolous dropped the The S.O.U.L. Tape 3 mixtape at the end of 2013. Now the Brooklyn rapper says he is finishing up his next studio album Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power and expects the project to be in stores before the Fall.

“Record labels has it processes, so you gotta work with that. I’m looking toward a summer release,” said Fab in an interview with RealTalkNY. “I wanted to tighten a couple of screws on the album. I put the mixtape out while I did that.”

Loso has already posted a video for TST3‘s  “Young OG” and plans to release visuals for the track “Cuffin Season” in the near future.

Childish Gambino Brings Out Joey Bada$$, Ab-Soul & More For Impromptu Show In NYC (VIDEOS)

(AllHipHop News) Music fans in New York City got a treat recently when Childish Gambino brought out some of his friends at an impromptu show.

While the Because The Internet creator was performing a stripped down set at The Cutting Room, TDE’s Ab-Soul and Pro Era’s Joey Bada$$ made their way to the stage at one point. The showcase included all three emcees freestyling together as well as SZA and Lion Babe covering “Boogie Nights.”

Police And Fans Speculate Why Chicago Rapper Lil Marc Was Murdered

(AllHipHop News) A Chicago rapper was killed, presumably for mocking the deaths of his rivals in the streets.

Lil Marc, a rapper born Marc Campbell, is definitely being mourned as a bevy of tweets and other condolences have permeated over social media since his death last Friday.

The 20-year-old was shot and killed a mere two days after he released a video called “No Competition,” which allegedly makes light of other people’s deaths. On the song he says, “Mask up, young n*ggas on dummy, catch you in broad day leave em like J Money.”

One online poster said, “Yall must not heard lil Marc competition..can’t stand on the bus stop after making something like that.”

The motivation behind the death is largely speculative and the police are still investigating.

The rapper, 20, was killed in front of a bus stop mid-day on Friday March 28 at about 1:30 pm. He was shot in the head. Lil Marc leaves behind a pregnant girlfriend.

Authorities also have theorized that the murder may be related to another shooting that occurred hours earlier that day.

The internet has continued to comment and infer to the contrary, stating that the song directly correlates with the murder of Lil Marc. The video includes a FaceTime conversation with Lil Reese, who is reportedly in a rival gang.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Was Love & Hip-Hop Taping TV When Benzino Was Shot?

I know you saw the headlines over the weekend – “Benzino Gets Shot.”

Well, I am hearing that the cameras from “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta” were right up in the mix. Now, I’m hearing different things. I heard they were there when the actually shooting occurred. But – more reasonably – I heard they were mostly there for the aftermath and were taping for the show. Either way, the drama is coming! Whew! Very vulture-like! Then again, Zino had a bunch of people like Stevie J posting instagram pics.

Also, this apparently didn’t happen in Boston, where Benzino is from. This happened outside of the city, in suburban regions. Zino got his mom out of the hood and gave her a better life I am told. So, where this shooting happened is what you call “lily white.” Now, I am getting the nephew that shot his Uncle Zino is going hell! The suburban cops are going to put him under the JAIL, I’m hearing.

Benzino’s Nephew Was Arrested + Stevie J Visits Benzino In Hospital

(AllHipHop News) Family business is family business until there’s public shootings. Benzino’s nephew, G## Scott has been arrested in connection with the shooting of his uncle.

According to reports, the shooting occurred around 12 P.M. earlier today (March 29th) on Route 3 in Duxbury, MA. Scott and Benzino were in opposite cars heading to the church where Benzino’s mother, Mary Scott, during the funeral procession. Benzino was shot and was transported to the Duxbury Police Department before he was transported to a hospital. The funeral procession began late but continued following the shooting.

Benzino’s nephew, G## Scott was arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder. His arraignment is set for Monday (March 31st).

Benzino’s business partner and friend Stevie J visited his injured friend in the hospital and posted a picture of the two on his personal Instagram account:

BREAKING: Benzino Shot Multiple Times Leaving Mother’s Funeral

(AllHipHop News) Rapper, magazine publisher and reality TV star Benzino was reportedly shoot in Boston, MA while attending the funeral of his mother.

Days ago, Benzino announcing the passing of his mother via his Twitter account. Today, he attended her funeral service where local police say he was targeted during the procession.

“The incident was between two vehicles whose occupants knew each other. The driver of a Bentley shot the driver of a red Dodge SUV, who exited his car and was taken to the Duxbury police station by a passerby. The injured red Dodge SUV driver, who officials say was in his 40s, was then transported by ambulance to the hospital.The Bentley driver has been arrested and will be arraigned Monday on a charge of armed assault with intent to murder.”

No word from Benzino’s camp on the status of his condition.

Papoose Says He’s Better Than Jay Z & Will Drop A Project Every Month

(AllHipHop News) Since Papoose’s unexpected performance at the end of Kendrick Lamar’s set at Hot 97’s Summer Jam XX last year, Papoose has been two things: prolific and brazen. In an interview with The New York Daily News, Pap proclaims his “King of New York” dominance over all MCs, promises to release an album every month and more.

Papoose, who has dissed Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Trinidad James since last summer, points to his lyrical dexterity that puts him above the rest:

Nobody is better than me — Jay-Z, nobody. None are more lyrically inclined than me. None of them. I’m definitely the king of New York. I am the greatest out of New York.

Papoose’s last album, the perpetually delayed Nacrimea Dream was released March 2013 and has sold 17,000 to date. Papoose claims that his lack of commercial success will not deter him and in response he will embark on the most prolific promotional campaign of his career:

I’m going to release a body of music every month.” I don’t feel like there’s no artist out there doing that.

Tonight, Sergey Kovalev will enter the ring in Atlantic City as not just the WBO light-heavyweight title-holder, but also as the last light-heavyweight champion standing on the HBO network. This reality comes not from the power of Kovalev’s fists, but due to the current nature of “boxing politics,” which has resulted in rival Adonis Stevenson, the WBC champion, confirming this week that he’s taking his talents to the Showtime network. Hip-Hop Rumors: Is 2Chainz Getting Sued By Backstage Video Chick?

It was the prank that was seen all across the Dark World! 2Chainz put some chick on full blast as she made her way backstage as some concert. He took the footage and put it on Youtube with the caption “thisisyourTHOT.” Well, I don’t know how the ladies get down backstage in this day and age, but she seemed like a fan to me. BUT, what do I know? But what they say is she was allegedly let backstage by accident, mistaken for another “thot.” Nevertheless, it is now rumored that she is going to sue 2Chainz for making her out to be a pure hoe on the social scene of the internet. She allegedly posted an image of herself at her lawyers, preparing to file a civil suit for damages stemming from the video.

Apparently, the girl had to shut down her Instagram and other social media spots due to the barrage of disparaging comments.

This is serious. And it sets a precedence if you ask me. Maybe I’m a softie, but aren’t you supposed to treat fans, even groupies, good to some degree? I’ll never know since, I have neither. SMH.

Radio Host Star Says Jay Z Once Sold Him Cocaine In The 80s (W/ Audio)

(AllHipHop News) Jay Z once said “while y’all record, I recall” and yesterday (Thursday) radio personality Star revealed an old tale of Jay Z pre-fame days. On his Shot97 Radio show, Star reveals that Jay Z once sold him cocaine to him back in the 80s.

Star states he’s “not trying to play Jay Z out” by revealing these stories about Jay Z drug past. According to Star, the man with 13 #1 album had a quality product in the 80s, but competition was stiff:

Back in the late ‘80s, I went to this man on a few occasions, hand-to-hand. He had the good sh*t. Now his sh*t wasn’t as popping as the West Indians over in the 90s and in Flatbush. Them Shower Posse n*ggas must have had that s### shipped in from Columbia or some f*ckin’ where.

Star does say Jay Z was a generous drug dealer “extended credit to a coke head in the wee hours” when Star was short on payment.

Jay Z has attributed his present business acumen that has helped him amass a reported net worth of $550 million to his drug dealing skills. In his Vanity Fair cover story back in October 2013 Jay Z spoke on this connection:

I know about budgets. I was a drug dealer. To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Lupita Nyong’o and K’naan Planning to Get Married?

Could Lupita and K’naan go all the way to the alter? If you don’t already know K’naan is a world renown rapper. He’s highly respected and also the boyfriend of Lupita. There are new rumors that suggest that the pair are close to getting married after a mere 6 months.

Why? Duh – they are in love like the drunk people. BUT, there is a catch! Lupita is now a product of Hollywood and her career is coming into play. They are saying that she is very in love with her rapper man, but her career is taking the lead in her love life. Here is what Star Magazine is saying:

After winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for 12 Years a Slave, Lupita Nyong’o may add one more monumental man to her life: a husband. The actress, 31, and her boyfriend of six months, Somali-born rapper K’naan,36, want to get hitched.

Insiders say that Lupita’s team is sorely against the idea – and the Kenyan native is tempted to elope. “She’s crazy for him,” says a source, “but she knows how much is at stake. Her Hollywood dream is in sight, and she’s on the cusp of a great career.

Her heart says yes, but her brain knows its too soon.”

Interesting, More interesting, would be a new album by K’naan.

DeSean Jackson Responds To Gang Affiliation Allegations After Being Cut From Eagles

(AllHipHop News) DeSean Jackson has issued a statement after being cut from the Philadelphia Eagles today.

Jackson was gracious in his response, but homed in on allegations that he was affiliated with gangs, which he denied.

First I would like to thank the Eagles organization, the Eagles fans and the city of Philadelphia for my time in Philly. I would also like to thank coach Andy Reed (sic) for bringing me in. Secondly, I would like to address the misleading and unfounded reports that my release has anything to do with any affiliation that has been speculated surrounding the company I keep off of the field. I would like to make it very clear that I am not and never have been part of any gang. I am not a gang member and to speculate and assume that I am involved in such activity off the field is reckless and irresponsible. I work very hard on and off the field and I am a good person with good values. I am proud of the accomplishments that I have made both on and off the field. I have worked tirelessly to give back to my community and have a positive impact on those in need. It is unfortunate that I now have to defend myself and my intentions. These reports are irresponsible and just not true. I look forward to working hard for my new team. God Bless.”

Most of the speculation has been unverified by the Eagles front office. Yet, a report by NJ.com seems to offer truthful insight to the rumors.

“They are concerned about having him around the younger players. Jackson’s continued association with reputed Los Angeles street gang members who have been connected to two homicides since 2010,” the source said.

Jackson recorded a song, “Diamonds On My Neck,” with well-known Crip Snoop Dogg and the video has highly suggestive content.

A number of teams have purported interest in Jackson, most notably The Oakland Raiders and The New York Jets.

Birdman: Tha Carter V Will Be Released Before Nicki Minaj’s New Album

(AllHipHop News) Maybe this was the news that Lil Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant was speaking on. A week after Bryant denied that Tha Carter V will be released on May 5th, the Cash Money Records head honcho Birdman gives a little more clarity.

While discussing Nicki Minaj’s career with Billboard, Birdman stated that some of Young Money will appear on Nicki Minaj’s new album that has no release date as-of-yet. While there is no firm release date for Nicki or Wayne’s album, Birdman assures that Tha Carter V will arrive before Minaj’s third album, The Pinkprint:

This album is going to have a little bit of everything but more rap. I am sure some of the team will be on it. She’s still doing her thing, then getting features on it. She’s definitely coming this year. She hasn’t picked a date yet. What she did for Young Money is totally different then what she’s doing for her album. She’s more girly-er. ‘Tha Carter V’ will definitely come before Nicki’s [album].

The release date for Nicki’s new album may never be released until the day the album comes out, according to the rap superstar. Back in February, Nicki Minaj informed Angie Martinez on The Angie Martinez Show that “The Pink Print is not going to have a release date. You’ll never know when it’s coming until it just comes.” However, Minaj did specify that her album release will not be identical to Beyonce’s, but similar:

Not all the way. I won’t set a release date until the album is really done and until I’ve lived with it for a long time… I’m not going to pull a B, I’m just going to chill for a second and see how it goes.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Could Shonda Rhimes Kill Columbus Short Off Scandal?

People don’t remember but Columbus Short kicks ASSSSSSSSS! This dude used to wreck shop, when he was a dancer or something. He used to stomp the yard. Well, now he stomps his enemies. On “Scandal,” he talks like Dark Knight and in real life he wrecks shop like Batman too.

The only thing is Shorty, so very good on the show, is allegedly so very bad in real life. He has spousal abuse incidents on deck and more recently he got in a fight at a bar.
