(AllHipHop News) On July 20th, Williamsburg Waterfront will be blaring Hip Hop at enjoyably obscene levels with some of the hottest acts in the game performing in honor of Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg’s 34th birthday.
The second annual #PeterPalooza includes performances from Odd Future, Meek Mill, Schoolboy Q, World’s Fair and possibly some surprise guests with DJ Funkmaster Flex on the 1’s and 2’s.
In the first of three parts, Peter Rosenberg speaks exclusively with AllHipHop about the formation of the #PeterPalooza lineup, why he would undertake organizing an entire concert on his birthday (part insanity, part overcompensation, part Hip Hop love) and why no one will get punched at the event.
Tickets for #PeterPalooza are available at Ticketmaster.

The Hip-Hop Archive and the W. E. B. Du Bois Institute at Harvard University announced today the inception of the Nasir Jones Hip Hop Fellowship. According to the press release, the fellowship will help fund future exceptional Hip Hop artists:
The Fellowship will provide selected scholars and artists with an opportunity to show that “education is real power,” as it builds upon the achievements of those who demonstrate exceptional capacity for productive scholarship and exceptional creative ability in the arts, in connection with hip-hop.
Nas’ penchant for social commentary and intellectual analysis has “helped usher in an original form of hip-hop debate and analysis that reflects on and represents urban youth angst and conflict as well as intelligence, confidence and ambition” according to the press release.
The recepients of the fellowship will be selected by members of Harvard University.
Recently, Harvard University has begun honoring Hip Hop and Nas has been integral in that prior to the fellowship’s beginning. In 2012, highly acclaimed Hip Hop producer 9th Wonder became a Harvard Fellow and engaged in an academic projecte called “These Are The Breaks” where he tracked down all the original samples from a few classic Hip Hop albums to archive them permanently in the Harvard Library. One of those albums was Illmatic.
Check out a clip from 9th Wonder’s documentary “The Harvard Fellow” which documented his time at Harvard from the moment he received the acceptance letter in March of 2012 to when he engaged in the research project:

Chris Brown took a loss yesterday and Rihanna takes one today. She has been ordered to pay $100k to her former financial advisers. She previously accused them of swindling her out of lots of money.

They first said Kanye didn’t want to get married. Now they are saying he wants to get married so much, Kris Kardashian is telling her daughter Kim to take it slow. Well, Yeezy is not trying to hear it. ShowbizSpy.com has an insider.
“She doesn’t run him. She doesn’t run Kim and she damn well isn’t running s*** with his baby. Don’t get me wrong, he thinks the world of Kris and respects her a lot, but he’s tired of people in his ear about what the f*** she thinks about his relationship with Kim. He doesn’t care!!!! She has no say so whatsoever on his life with Kim.”
Shout out to Jeezy for his Trayvon Martin tribute song. Hopefully, he takes bigger steps to may the impact of his feelings roll through the “trap.”
Shout out to Solange, who was out in the streets of BK protesting and leading rallies for Trayvon.

Bay Area native and West Coast Hip-Hop fan favorite Bobby Brackins drops his highly anticipated new mixtape titled “Maxwell Park”. The project includes features from E-40, Ray J, Clyde Carson, Ty Dolla $ign, Kreayshawn, Lil Debbie, Iamsu!, and is guaranteed to be one of the most creatively arranged and delivered mixtapes of the summer. After dropping bombs with his hit single “Big Body” featuring Clyde Carson and Ty Dolla $ign, then causing catastrophic damage with the overwhelming viral success of “Hit It First” with Ray J, Bobby is definitely redirecting the spotlight to focus towards his direction more often than not.
