Meek Mill Responds to Gillie Da Kid’s Diss on “Panamera” [NEW MUSIC]

“I’m super rich, y’all still tripping over who’s the king”

(AllHipHop News) The mentality of “diss me, you’ll never hear a reply for it” is slowly disappearing in the new era of Hip Hop. After tweeting that he would not go back and forth, Meek Mill has decided to send a few rebuttal shots at Gillie Da Kid in response to Gillie’s diss song “King Me”.

Over a beat that sounds like a “Started From The Bottom” cousin (Adderall-induced cousin), Meek joins his Dream Chasers labelmate Omelly and lets it be known he is not backing down from Gillie:

I got more money than you/ and I’m younger than you/ Say you broke, you a joke, do I look funny to you? You can diss in your raps but when I run into you/it’s gonna be ‘I ain’t say that’ or ‘I don’t want it with you.

The Fugees’ Video Director Sentenced To 50 Years, Impregnated His Daughters

(AllHipHop News) The music video director for The Fugees’ “Killing Me Softly”, one of the biggest songs in Hip Hop history has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexual assault in connection to impregnating three of his daughters.

Aswad Ayinde was sentenced to 40 years in prison back in November of 2011 for the impregnation of one of his daughters. This past Friday (July 26th) was found guilty of impregnating his 22 year old daughter four times between the ages of 8 and 22.

According to Aswad’s ex-wife Beverly Ayinde’s testimony to the courts in March, the convicted music video director was planning for the apocolypse by creating “pure” bloodlines:

He equaled himself to being a prophet. As time went on, he was god-like. I had to call him, ‘my god.’ He equated himself to Jesus Christ … He would sit us all down and lecture us about his greatness and his power … At another point, he equated himself to Prince and Michael Jackson

Among the atrocities Beverly admitted to Aswad committed included children being witheld food for disobedience, not acquiring birth certificates for the home birthed children, beatings and even the threat of mutilating’s Beverly’s children

Hip-Hop Rumors: Lupe Fiasco Vs Childish Gambino Donald Glover?

What The Hell?

Did I completely miss something here? Went on a twit-rant about Lupe Fiasco and threatened him with violence. But…Donald Glover is not about that life! Or is he?

So, here is what happened from what I have deduced.

Childish Gambino didn’t just diss Lupe out of the blue like people are saying. It was not random. Fans hit Lupe on Twitter and Lupe responded “I don’t work with blacks.” I saw that comment and dismissed it because I couldn’t believe Lupe would say that. Then he was asked about doing a song with Rick Ross and Wale (because he recently did a song with them). To Lupe, those were “n***az.” And he said the difference between Black people and N-words is “they come from different sides of the same chicken.” So, Gambino is a “Black” and other rappers are “N***az.” OK. And then Childish Gambino said what he said, but those words were the EXACT same verbiage that Chief Keef said to Lupe when they had beef. This may all be a big joke…

See below.

Guess what? It turned out to be a big joke. I guess that’s why I didn’t hear about it.

Lupe hit VIBE:

“Well that settles it…even wit a private twitter & obvious jokes I still somehow make headlines… #sideeyes @VibeMagazine @childishgambino.”

I was looking for a beef that we could all joke about! A battle of the nerds!

EXCLUSIVE: Behind the Scenes with YG, Rich Homie Quan, and Young Jeezy

AllHipHop.com was exclusively invited out to kick with Young Jeezy for the video shoot of “Ride for My Ni**as” from the It’s The World (Es El Mundo) mixtape. And, when the big homie tells you to come out because he only wants to talk to you… you show up.

So, AllHipHop.com was in the building at the video shoot, that despite some minor setbacks, went off without a hitch.

“Ride for My Ni**as” is an up-tempo, high-energy club banger produced by DJ Mustard that bangs in the club and on the streets. The song shows off Young Jeezy’s dedication to grooming up-coming artists. New CTE signee, YG changed the game when he said that he wasn’t releasing any more free mixtapes until the release of his debut album Im 4rm Bompton later this year. He talked to us about his signing to CTE and the rise of the “New West Coast.” Atlanta native, Rich Homie Quan is poised to take over after major success with his records, “Differences,” and “Type of Way,” which was just MTV Jamz, Jam of the Week.  Both records are on constant rotation in his hometown. YG and Rich Homie Quan held their own on set with Young Jeezy who declared them, “the future,” along with his newest CTE signees, Detroit’s Doughboyz Cashout.

Check out the video for our exclusive coverage of the “Ride for My Ni**as” video shoot with YG featuring Rich Homie Quan and Young Jeezy.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Will Jay-Z Make A Longer Version Of “Beach Is Better”?

OHHHHH snap! I’m hearing that there may be a full version of Jay-Z’s “Beach Is Better,” the song on his album that’s less than a minute long. I am hearing that a nearly 4-minute version of the song is on the way. The whole album is pretty good, but a lot of people are totally confused as to why this particular song is so bumping, YET so short! So, I’m hearing that this may be in the works after the “Picasso Baby” fervor is over.

Producing Legend Pete Rock Names Ab-Soul Among His Top 5 Emcees Dead Or Alive

(AllHipHop News) When the man who helped craft songs like Common’s “The B#### In Yoo,” Kanye West & Jay Z’s “The Joy,” and Nas’ “The World Is Yours” names you as one of his all-time favorite emcees that is a major co-sign for any artist. It is especially noteworthy if one of those rappers has not even released a major label album yet.

That is the case for Top Dawg Entertainment’s Ab-Soul. In a recent interview with AllHipHop, Pete Rock placed the Black Hippy member alongside Kanye West, Jay Z, Nas, and The Notorious B.I.G. on his list of top 5 emcees dead or alive.

Ab-Soul will appear on the song “Don’t Ya Just Love It” off Rock’s upcoming collaborative mixtape with Camp Lo – 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s Pt. II. Pete Rock’s first official free project will also feature Talib Kweli, Mac Miller, M.O.P, and Uncle Murda.

In the interview Pete Rock also shared some of his favorite peers. When asked for his top 5 producers dead or alive, he listed Kanye West, J Dilla, Nottz, Kev Brown, and Alchemist. He also highlighted Jake One, and he mentioned he is a fan of DJ Premier. The two legendary Hip Hop producers are planning to release a joint project together next year.

“That’s going to be crazy,” says Pete about his future album with Premier. “The people that you wouldn’t expect to hear over a Pete Rock or Premier beat, you’re gonna hear them.”

Pete Rock also provided the quintessential songs from his production discography, stating that it is difficult to pin down five of his own tracks that he would hold up as standards. He finally decided on his classic with CL Smooth, “They Reminisce Over You,” Nas’ “The World Is Yours,” Big L’s “Holdin’ It Down,” Heavy D & The Boyz’ “Don’t Curse,” and the remix to Public Enemy’s “Shut Em Down.”

Pete Rock and Camp Lo’s 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s Pt. II will be available for free download on July 30 at datpiff.com.

Daily Word: Be AbNOrMal!!

Happy Monday my weird and out of place! Welcome to the beginning of the rest of your life and the day you finally realize that being YOU is the best and only way to truly be happy! Today’s Daily Word is to being abnormal! In today’s society we put such an emphasis on being normal that we don’t realize how ridiculous that notion really is. If you look up the word Normal in the dictionary you will see its meaning as conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural, serving to establish a standard. If you look up abnormal you will see that it is a deviation from what is normal or usual. I don’t know about you but there is no way I will be satisfied with life by conforming to the standard or the common type…. And I know for sure our Higher power did not put us here to just be regular! In order to make a true difference in the world and within yourself you must be comfortable being YOU! As Author Dan Pearce, once wrote “Don’t you get it? There is no other you. Out of the six and a half billion people on earth, not a single one of them has had the same experiences in life that you have had. None of them share the exact same passions and struggles. None of them have lived your life. None of them. You are the product of you, and nothing else. Every decision you have ever made over your entire life has led you exactly to where you are right at this moment. Simplified… You are you because of you.” Effective immediately I need you to stop being NORMAL and BE who YOU are meant to be… YOU! The world may not like you for it but always remember… Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind!
-Ash’Cash

“If you are always trying to be normal you will never know how amazing you can be.”
-Maya Angelou

“The things that make YOU different are the things that make YOU, YOU.”
-A.A. Milne

“Everybody Is weird! We should all celebrate our individuality and not be embarrassed or ashamed of it.”
-Johnny Depp

“You have two choices in life…Choice one is to be the same and be like everyone else…Choice two is to be yourself and be a difference-maker.”
-Jazlyn Roehl

“The world is not ready for some people when they show up, but that shouldn’t stop anyone.”
-Ashly Lorenzana

“The only reward for conformity is that everyone likes you except yourself.”
-Rita Mae Brown

“Its hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world, but that is no excuse to lower your value”
-Dolly Parton

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Kanye West’s Donda’s House Non-Profit Creates Music Program For Chicago Youth

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West is helping to implement a new music writing program for at-risk youth in the South Side of Chicago. “Got Bars” will be a collaborative effort between the ARK of St. Sabina youth center and the Donda’s House Non-Profit organization. Donda’s House was named for West’s late mother Dr. Donda West.

“My mom spent her life as an educator, and I am happy that Donda’s House can pick up her torch and honor her life’s mission,” said Kanye in a statement.

The program will work with students between the ages of 15-24 to teach them how to write and record music. Upon completion an EP of the participant’s recordings will be released. “Got Bars” will also provide lessons on exercise, yoga, nutrition, media-literacy, and etiquette training.

“Art instruction and particularly music instruction leads people to become better problem solvers, more flexible,” said Donnie Smith, Donda’s House Executive Director. “There are just so many outcomes that come from the study of music and particularly music writing.”

As Donda’s House’s co-founder and assistant director, Che “Rhymefest” Smith will be on hand to instruct participants in the writing and recording process in a professional studio.

“I am so happy to launch ‘Got Bars’ to honor Kanye West’s mother’s memory and to fulfill one of my Aldermanic campaign goals. ‘Got Bars’ will change our youth musically, get them healthy and keep them busy in a creative, peaceful environment,” added Rhymefest.

The initial program will run from August through October of this year. Those interested in participating in “Got Bars” can apply at dondashouse.com through August 2.

DJ Tim Westwood To Be Replaced On Britain’s Radio 1

(AllHipHop News) For nearly 20 years Tim Westwood has been one of the leading forces in promoting Hip Hop in Great Britain. The 55-year-old DJ has helped introduce American rap stars to audiences in the UK with his exclusive interviews and freestyle sessions on his popular radio show.

It was announced over the weekend that Westwood will no longer be the voice of Hip Hop on the BBC Radio 1 or 1Xtra stations. He is being replaced by Charlie Sloth whose Radio 1Xtra feature with J. Cole in May made news when the North Carolina emcee announced that TLC would appear on his sophomore album Born Sinner.

Westwood has been a fixture on the BBC Radio 1 since 1994 when he began presenting the first program dedicated to Hip Hop on the station. The station decided on the host change in order to appeal to a younger audience.

“I’d like to thank Tim for the last 20 years on Radio 1. His passion for Hip Hop is legendary. I wish him all the very best,” said Radio 1 Controller Ben Cooper.
