Hip Hop Mogul Michael Williams’ “Guns 4 Greatness” Begins, Includes Life Mentoring

(AllHipHop News) This Saturday (March 30th), Brooklyn will witness its first-ever public and private sector gun buyback initiative for the New York City public called “Guns 4 Greatness”

The initiative was envisioned and is spearheaded by legendary Hip Hop manager Michael “Blue” Williams. The gun buyback consists of people relinquishing guns to the program anonymously and subsequently receive a bank card for the amount designated for their type of gun. Operational guns are worth $200 and non-operational guns are worth $20. The initiative also attempts to address deeper, psychological measures of gun control and takes rehabilitative turn as each participant gets a card with a 10-digit number which allows them to receive introductory life mentoring sessions.

Guns 4 Greatness is potentially partnering with Beyonce and the New York Yankees to provide tickets to shows and games for participants who consistently attend their life mentoring sessions. As of late February there were also talks of including Jay-Z, who will be performing with Justin Timberlake at Yankee Stadium in July to be a part but no confirmation has been issued.

Williams held a press conference yesterday (March 27th) at Christian Culture Center in Brooklyn, NY. The event had a few distinguished speakers including Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, Reverend A.R. Bernard, Rich Buery, Gregory Thomas and G4G Partners L. Londell McMillan as well as candidate for Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson.

Williams, who began this initiative after the alleged suicide of his good friend and legendary Hip Hop manager/power broker Chris Lighty, believes Guns for Greatness is an opportunity to practically fix the gun culture in New York City:

This is a chance to positively reinforce a young person’s decision to turn away from violence and show everybody that there’s another way. Our youth mean everything, and they deserve a different path than what’s often laid out for them.”No stop and frisks but involved

Williams is the CEO of the full-service  music management firm, Family Tree Entertainment which has a roster including Big Boi, Busta Rhymes, Eric Benet and many others He has helped raise over $75,000 for the initial launch and celebrity support from Mary J Blige, Nick Cannon, Jamie Foxx and many others.

The first Guns 4 Greatness event  is set for Saturday March 30, 2013 from 10am to 4pm at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, NY. There will also be buyback programs in urban communities all across the United States and prospective participants can make donations on the initiative’s official website www.guns4greatness.org.

Waka Flocka Says He’ll Never Work With Gucci Mane Again

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this month the beef between Waka Flocka and fellow Brick Squad 1017 member Gucci Mane went public when Gucci sent out a tweet stating that Waka was dropped from the label.

While Gucci’s management later claimed that his twitter account was hacked, Waka told RapFix Live that the business relationship between the two is still over for good.

“I don’t wanna do no music with him. I don’t want no business with him. Nothing,” says Waka. “I don’t feel nothing he say out his mouth. It ain’t real.”

Waka clarifies even though he is ready to move on from business ties with Gucci, the ownership situation at Brick Squad is more complicated than Gucci having the power to just drop him from the label.

“I own a percentage of Brick Squad 1017, and I own 100% of Brick Squad Monopoly. So you can’t kick the boss out,” says Wacka.

The riff between Waka and Gucci hit the Internet on March 15th when the following tweet from Gucci’s certified account was posted:

GucciWacka

Waka does not agree with Gucci’s claim of him being disloyal or his team’s claim that the tweet was fake.

“I’m the loyalist person you could ever see. I took on a man’s beef, risked my life, hung out the window, risked my freedom.” says Waka. “It can’t be nothing but jealously or something because there is nothing I did disloyal.”

“That Twitter wasn’t hacked because we had a conversation before that. Real aggressive words like, ‘Ni**a let’s get up, let’s do this.’ ”

The potentially permanent split with Waka is just one of the life changing issues playing out for Gucci Mane right now.

The “Wasted” rapper turned himself into police yesterday for allegedly assaulting a soldier at a nightclub in Atlanta. He is currently still behind bars after being denied bond.

Waka also alluded to Gucci’s latest legal troubles when further explaining why the business side of their relationship is done.

“I greet fans. He punches fans. It’s a difference.”

Despite the current conflict between the two rappers, Waka did offer support for Gucci as he is set to face two counts of felony assault.

“I don’t wish jail or death on nobody. That’s foul,” Waka added.

Gucci Mane Denied Bond; Rapper Remains Behind Bars

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Gucci Mane was denied bond over an assault that occurred in a VIP area of an Atlanta club last weekend.

Gucci, born Radric Davis, has been charged with two felony assault charges, for hitting a soldier named James Lettley over the head with a champagne bottle, after he allegedly asked the rapper for his autograph.

The rapper surrendered early yesterday morning (March 27), to face the charges levied against him.

Today in court, a judge denied Gucci Mane bond, and the rapper will remain jailed until his next hearing.

“Mr. Davis has a history, we’re not going to skirt that issue,” Gucci Mane’s lawyer Drew Findling told reporters outside of the courthouse.

“That history made it difficult for him to get bond today,” Finding said, before noting that witnesses had failed to produce any significant leads against Gucci Mane.

Gucci Mane is due back in court on April 10.

Activist Organization Petitions Against Rick Ross For “Rape Lyric”

The lyric, “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it,” has set off a firestorm of controversy resulting in open letters from activists, yet no word from the rapper. The song is actually Rocko’s featuring singer/rapper Future.

The new Change.org petition calls for Rick Ross to publicly apologize for the lyric and for glorifying rape and violence against women. Created 6 days ago, the petition has garnered hundreds of signatures.

The timing of the lyric is hot on the heels of the date rape conviction of two teens in Stubenville, Ohio and the recent passage of The Violence Against Women Act which has added to its inflammatory nature.

Activist Rosa Clemente has also made a video responding to the Def Jam signed Ross for the lyric, which she states is “detrimental to our community.”

5 & Done: 5ive Star

Cali-born, South Florida-raised rhymesayer 5ive Star has everyone abuzz about his infectious style of Rap music. He has propelled himself into the limelight, by introducing a brand new Hip Hop sound that is captivating listeners nationwide. Right now he is riding high off of the momentum of his hot new single “Nicki.”

AllHipHop.com: Firstly, for those who are not familiar with you, give us some background info as to who you are.

5ive Star I’m a lyricist, singer and songwriter born in California and grew up in South Florida. I have been writing and recording for the past 7 years and I have worked with some award-winning engineers and producers, including Ken Lewis and Jimi Kendrix. My last release was the mixtape “Get Ready” at the end of 2012, which was a featured mixtape on Datpiff. I am set to release two more projects this year, including 4 videos all shot this year.

AllHipHop.com: What is your USP? (Unique Selling Proposition) and what sets you apart from other Hip Hop artists?

5ive Star What I have created is the 5ive Star World. It’s all about creativity and being consistent as a recording artist. What sets me apart is typically the music sound in general along with rhyme patterns and concepts. I always try let my individuality come through in the music.

AllHipHop.com: What single or project are you currently pushing?

5ive Star The single is called “Nicki.” It is the first release off the “I Am 5ive Star Mixtape.” The mixtape is set for release on 4/6/13. It features 11 original records. The “Nicki” single release was followed by the video release on VEVO. The record is about working with what you got. If you can’t have Nicki Minaj, then at least get yourself a “Nicki.” Check out the music on my official website is www.5ivestarmusic.com.

AllHipHop.com: What is your opinion of the current state of the music industry?

5ive Star The industry is just that, it is a business. I think artists forget that if you can’t make money for an industry you don’t get to participate or at least not very long. Certainly, the economics have changed dramatically and therefore, artist development is not as prevalent. The industry relies on the artist a lot more to develop their style and brand where in years past that wasn’t necessarily the case. People want to bring it back to the way it was, but I say let’s bring it forward. Now more than ever is the opportunity to create the music that represents what I do and present that to the people through various channels. It’s about using what’s available and connecting with fans to make the industry come to you.

AllHipHop.com: What is your Album going to be like?

5ive Star The Album is titled “I Am 5ive Star.” It is going to be the best of the best records I have created as an artist. Right now it’s got so many elements of all types of music from Hip Hop to RnB to Alternative to Reggae. It’s all over the place but believe me you will know a 5ive Star record when you hear one.

Signs The World Is Coming To An End: Woman Claims Rape Sex Was “The Best She Ever Had”

This is not a Rick Ross joke, I promise. This is a true Signs The World Is Coming To An End.

RELATED: Activist Organization Petitions Against Rick Ross For “Rape Lyric”

You won’t believe what I located online. This fool. This crazy woman. She got raped and said that what is almost exclusively a gross violation of humanity was the “best sex she ever had.” First, her previous lovers have to be looking at each other in disbelief. But, this is apparently a real story from a site that I cannot locate.

READ THIS MANIA!

“I never knew I liked it so rough; and from behind, OMG! From behind is sooo incredible”
Says Ann Lankton a recent rape victim who claims her rapist was some of the best sex she’s ever had and would like to do it again, but only if its more consensual.
Ann isn’t the 1st person to make such a claim experts say 1 out of 12 rape victims daydream and/or have nightmares about their rapist that are often more pleasurable than not, but its actually just another form of being in ‘shock’.
Ann claims that’s not the case with her.
“I f*cking loved it! Everything about it was what sex should be; raw and passionate. He really wanted to f*c* me. No if’s, and’s or but’s about it and I could tell he knew exactly what he was doing. It Definitely wasn’t his first time. …Raping someone I mean.”
Ann plans on setting up a first date with her rapist pending him making bail before trial.

I guess this chick is cuing up Drake and her first date should be with a therapist:

FYI: I’ve never been raped, but it is my complete understanding that is is NOT a pleasurable act. It is a morally wrong and reprehensible act, actually. Don’t do it. Stats say that a whopping 60% of Black woman and girls have been sexually abused in some way, including rape. Don’t slip them mollys unbeknownst to them either.  Men and women should join together and oppose forced sex of any kind, both here and overseas and in the military. I heard some people didn’t like my headline from the other day. That’s for you.

PS, my better judgement thinks this may be a compete joke. I cannot really imagine a women enjoying rape.

Here is a video from Hip-Hop activist Rosa Clemente talking about Rape and Rozay.

EXCLUSIVE: Crooked I Speaks on Slaughterhouse Album; Says, “This Time We’re Coming for Blood”

(AllHipHop News) As the Top 10 lists of best rappers, songs and albums were released by various media sources at the end of last year, Crooked I of Slaughterhouse took offense to the group being left off of some of the lists.

While the group received the Shady Records co-sign, and toured all over the world, Crooked I spoke with AllHipHop at SXSW about how the group is “coming for blood” and still fighting for respect.

“We went to Australia, it was a beautiful country, that was my first time there, it was gorgeous dog, just the country was impressive, the energy in the crowd was just bananas. We probably gonna start on the next album in a month or two, you know what I mean, and this time we’re coming for blood man,” Crooked I explained to AllHipHop.com.

“I’m speaking for Crooked I and I’m not speaking for the group, but I think that ni**as kind of light weight went to sleep on the last album. When they did the hottest MC’s list and best song of 2012 I didn’t really see Slaughterhouse on that list man. We rap our heart out man so for this next album, I’m coming out with that butcher knife,” Crooked I said.

According to Neilsen SoundScan, Slaughterhouse’s second studio album Welcome to: Our House debuted at number 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with 52,000 records sold.
