(AllHipHop News) Music mogul Dr. Dre is suing electronics giant Yamaha, over headphones the company is manufacturing, which Dr. Dre claims infringes upon his Beats Electronics patents.
Lawyers for Beats Electronics filed the lawsuit against Yamaha Corporation of America last week, in US District Court, Central District of California.
The lawsuit claims that Yamaha is marketing a line of “PRO” headphones that copy the design of Dr. Dre’s world-famous Beats line of headphones.
“Consumers appreciated the design, as well as the sound quality, of Beats and began wearing the Beats headphones around their necks as a fashion accessory even when not listening to music,” the lawsuit reads. “In fact the design of the Beats headphones has been a significant driver of the commercial success of the products.”
According to Dr. Dre, a side-by-side comparison of Yamaha’s “PRO” is so similar, that it will confuse consumers.
To make matters worse, Yamaha is running ads that trade-off of Dr. Dre’s name and the Beats name as well.
In November 2012, Dr. Dre’s lawyers fired off a warning to Yamaha’s counsel, informing them of their infringement.
But, Yamaha continues to market the knock off line of headphones.
Dr. Dre is suing for at least $75,000 in damages, claiming Trade Dress Infringement, Unfair Competition and Patent Infringement.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil’ Mama may be close to repairing her reputation, as she has been cast to play deceased singer/rapper Left Eye in a feature film.
The news was dropped by MC Lyte as she was interviewed on the red carpet at an event.
“She just got the role as Left Eye in TLC’s new movie. I am so excited for her,” MC Lyte said.
The veteran rapper said that she also plans to mentor Lil Mama and guide her comeback.
“I’m gonna put a little bit of my concentration and focus on helping to uplift a sister who is talented, smart, witty, and just had her chances cut too short, and that’s Lil Mama ’cause she is a talented young lady,” explained Lyte.
The movie will be a made-for-TV venture that will delve into the roller coaster life of Left Eye. Left Eye was the Hip-Hop portion of the multi-platinum selling group. TLC sold more than 22 million records. The movie will look into other facets of the group, including T-Boz’s bout with sickle cell and the group’s well-documented financial woes.
In 2009, Lil Mama jumped on stage as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys closed out the MTV Awards. She was widely panned for the act, despite being tremendously talented.

(AllHipHop News) As the music world descended upon Los Angeles, California this past weekend for the 55th annual Grammy Awards, the Hip-Hop world came out in drones for music videos shoots, parties, concerts and meet and greets for the fans.
With all the speculation about Hip-Hop getting snubbed at the Grammy’s, you wouldn’t have noticed, given all the events and parties that were scheduled throughout the weekend.
Kicking things off on Thursday, Ace Hood performed at the Roxbury with a host of special guests including Jermaine Dupri, Busta Rhymes and Reek da Villian.
Friday night YG held a sold out show at the Key Club, bringing out everyone from Young Jeezy and Nipsey Hussle to Dom Kennedy and others.
Dom also showed his face at the Colony where he put on a brief performance.
On Saturday YG continued to play host to rappers, as he held his video shoot for the song “We Playin,” ft Young Jeezy, and Wiz Khalifa.
Also on the set were Sir Michael Rocks, YP, John Monopoly and members of the T.I.S.A. clothing brand, who distributed product on the set.
Saturday night, multi-platinum and six time Grammy nominee B.o.B. held his concert bringing out a host of artists including T.I. and Tiny, Nelly and Playboy Tre.
Prior to Grand Hustle hitting the stage, Trinidad James and West Coast phenom Problem kicked off the show with respective sets.
Sunday night DJ Drama and Joe Moses turned out Secret Sundayz, LA’s premier exotic club as B.o.B. and his team popped several bottles.
Social Media will be the death of us all. Nas’ ex Carmen, the chick that mothered his daughter, took it to Twitter to air out what really is a personal matter. Seems like she was mad that Nas didn’t take his daughter to the Grammys this year. I’m sure Nas has his reasons, but why take it to Twitter? Some people are just attention w#####. And that word…I won’t even go there with it.
At any rate, she maintains that his daughter should have rightfully been by his side at the big event last night…on Twitter. Shut your FACE and go live in obscurity, chick. Jeez. Anyway, remember she wrote a whole book about Nas that nobody read? SMH.
What she was really saying was, “Even if Nas does win the Grammy, he lost for not inviting the mother of his first daughter…I mean, his one and only daughter!”

CRUEL SUMMER PART 2?
Rumor has it, the G.O.O.D. music family is looking to create Cruel Summer II instead of continually pushing the notion of a Cruel Winter. Clearly, this album is not coming out this Winter…its almost over. So, the verdict is a sequel.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END
Well, something sinister this way cometh. There has been a shooting in the First State of Delaware. How weird is it that Obama will be addressing gun violence in Chicago this week and Biden is from Delaware. Here is the AP story:
WILMINGTON, Del. — State Police say three people have died in a courthouse shooting in Delaware.
Delaware State Police Sgt. Paul Shavack confirmed three people died in the shooting Monday morning at the New Castle County Courthouse in Wilmington.
Two police officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Shavack said officers exchanged gunfire with the shooter in the courthouse’s lobby before he passed metal detectors. Shavack did not say whether the shooter killed the two women or whether they were killed in the gunfire. Shavack also did not say how the shooter died.
