Uh oh! Chief Keef is going dowwwwwwwnnnn! Well, not quite. But, it looks like the authorities out there in Chicago, namely his parole officer, have some serious questions. Apparently, he is on parole – DUH. And, he did an interview where the media outlet Pitchfork took him to a gun range to make it interesting. How typical. And, being the smart dude that he is, Keef forgot that he wasn’t allowed to buss his gun at the range. Its a violation of his probation. Well, nobody fully knows what is on that video, but it was taken down after the death of Jo Jo.

Anyway, it seems that the Pitchfork has been ordered to give up the uncut video of Keef with a gat. I don’t know the specific implications of Keef having a gun, but they can’t be nice. The news has some people rejoicing, but I’m not happy that Keef may do time. I think that he should do some time with Jim Brown, Muhammad Ali or Denzel…somebody that can help him get a new perspective.

TGI….Everyday my movers, shakers, and creatures of greatness!
Welcome to the day that you continue your journey towards success, and the day you stop paying attention to what other people say! Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to your haters! Whether you know this or not, Haters are your best indication as to what you should or should not be doing! See, your friends and family are great, but they are really biased! They are going to support you (for the most part), no matter what! They are so happy that you are making something happen that they are just excited to be part of your growth.
Haters, on the other hand, do not have time for that! Their sole purpose is to discredit anything
that seems prosperous! Believe it or not, their hate has nothing to do with you, but everything to do with their own lack of self-worth! The fact that they’re even paying attention to you says that you’re doing something right!!!
Fork Your Haters!! Don’t take it personally, and don’t waste your time addressing it! Understand that Hate is just displaced Love! Know that the closer you get to your goal, the more these people tend to show their hand! Keep doing what you do! The only way a Hater wins is if you stop and become unsuccessful! Spend your energy being the best that you can be instead of addressing Haters! They’re like roaches; once you kill one, more start to appear! Let
them be and continue to be great!!!! THE WORLD IS ABSOLUTELY YOURS!!!!!

(AllHipHop News) Rapper/actor Common will join Harry Belafonte, Pete Seeger, Jackson Browne and other special guests during a benefit concert for Native American activist Leonard Peltier.
Common will hit the stage during the “Bring Leonard Peltier Home 2012 Concert,” which will take place on Friday, December 14, in New York City.
Peltier, who has been imprisoned since the mid-70s for a deadly incident at Wounded Knee and Oglala in South Dakota, is also a six-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
Leonard Peltier was convicted in the slayings of two FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in 1975, during a shootout.
Just last year, Common’s political views were thrust into the national spotlight, after he was invited to the White House for a “Poetry Night” with Michelle Obama.
FOX News, talking head Bill O’Reilly and others blasted the rapper for the lyrics to “A Song For Assata.”
The White House invitation angered the New Jersey State Police, who labeled Assata Shakur a “fugitive,” after she escaped prison in 1979, over the 1973 slaying of a New Jersey State Trooper.
Other celebrities set to support Leonard Peltier’s bid for clemency include Danny Glover, Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, Native American singers Bill Miller and Jennifer Kreisberg, Bruce Cockburn and others.
The “Bring Leonard Peltier Home 2012 Concert,” will take place at the Beacon theater in New York City.

If at first glance Trinidad James strikes you as odd, you’re probably right. There’s little about his ascent on Hip-Hop that’s familiar. His fashion is unconventional, he began rapping less than a year ago, and he isn’t easily compared to anyone in the game.
In the last week, he performed with 2 Chainz, spent countless hours in the studio, and performed for a sold out crowd in NYC. Even Kevin Liles, Trey Songz and Busta Rhymes were on hand to witness the thousand megawatt performance, which included A$AP Rocky as guest (check out what illseed said), frequent mentions of Molly, and crowd surfing.
In the midst of all of this he caught up with AllHipHop.com to dish on how staying true to himself – and “giving no f*cks” – resulted in what’s shaping up to be his breakout year in music, led by his single “All Gold Everything”:
AllHipHop.com: People may be surprised to learn you just began rapping less than a year ago. Has the success of “All Gold Everything” and your mixtape, Don’t Be S.A.F.E, been surprising for you?
Trinidad James: No, because music is about how hard you dedicate yourself to it. If you know how to do it and it lives in you, you just create the art and hope for more favorable opinions than unfavorable opinions. That’s what makes you a successful artist. There are people who don’t like Kanye and Jay-Z, but what makes them successful is there are more people that like them than those who don’t.
AllHipHop.com: How did you find yourself artistically in such a short time span?
Trinidad James: I’m used to being myself, so I incorporated who I was into my music. What people hear in my music is an extension of my life.
AllHipHop.com: Are you a new artist who is hands on in all areas of your career?
Trinidad James: As it relates to business ventures, my team knows the things that I’m interested and will consult me about those opportunities. Otherwise, I let them handle the day-to-day business because that’s what they do. I do everything pertaining to creating and writing the music.
AllHipHop.com: Has there been a particular artist who has inspired you, or who you would like to model your career after?
Trinidad James: No. I just want my own legacy. But I listened to everything from old school to Hip-Hop. For me, it’s not about the artist; it’s about the music.
AllHipHop.com: Don’t Be S.A.F.E has generated a great deal of buzz; briefly walk me through the creative process of putting this project together.
Trinidad James: It is an introduction to Trinidad James, so I made it short and to the point. Listeners will learn that I’m a hustler, and I’ve been hustler my whole life. It speaks to real life situations. For example, on “Females Welcomed”, I rap about female troubles, and every guy has had those. And, then it smoothes out and reveals what type of person I am – where I’m from, what I’m into, what I ain’t gon’ for, what type of females I deal with, my dreams, and the drugs I like to do when it’s time to party. The realest song on the mixtape is “Giving No F*cks”, and it’s a good representation of the attitude that I have about my music and style.
AllHipHop.com: I understand the idea of not giving a f*ck, but what does that mean in action for you?
Trinidad James: Basically, it’s me doing me. I believe actions speak louder than words. So I’ve been saying I don’t give a f*ck and proved it in action by putting together Don’t Be S.A.F.E, without pulling any of the music industry strings I could have. Instead, I got all the beats for free, I recorded the songs in the house with an unknown engineer, and put it out there for the world to hear. I’ve never asked anyone for sh*t. I ain’t ever going to.
AllHipHop.com: “All Gold Everything” has been the standout record for you. Were you involved in creating the visual for the record?
Trinidad James: Yes, that was my treatment and my boys at Motion Family were able to understand where I was coming from and helped me bring the visual to life.
AllHipHop.com: You’ve had a lot of success in so little time. What do you think people gravitate toward most about you?
Trinidad James: My voice isn’t a voice you would typically hear on the radio. Visually, I am not the type of n*gga you would see on TV. So when it’s packaged all together, people are like, “I don’t know if I like him.” But sonically it feels good to them, so people give me a chance.
AllHipHop.com: Your fashion is certainly in a lane of its own. How would you describe your style?
Trinidad James: Giving no f*cks. Again, actions speak louder than words. I have crooked teeth and one gold tooth. I don’t comb my hair. I don’t give a sh*t.
AllHipHop.com: “All Gold Everything” has 1.7 million views on YouTube; the mixtape downloads are on the upswing. I would imagine labels are approaching you about rocking with them. What are some requirements that must be in the contract before you sign on the dotted line?
Trinidad James: Honestly, I’m not even thinking about signing. I appreciate all the meetings, and I can’t say that I haven’t met with labels because I have. People have seen it on Instagram. But, in general, when you’re doing something right, people are going to find you. And me being the person I am, I like to meet new people so, of course, I took meetings with labels. I wanted to see what was on their minds.
AllHipHop.com: What is Gold Gang?
Trinidad James: Gold Gang is a mentality. It’s about waking up in the morning and wanting to be in first place. I always want to conquer something when I wake up, and Gold Gang is about doing it successfully.
AllHipHop.com: What would people be surprised to know about you?
Trinidad James: That I’m a regular guy. I just look weird.
AllHipHop.com: Dream collaboration?
Trinidad James: Adele, Adele, Adele.

“If we want to develop and grow to another level, we can’t be guinea pigs for the devil.” – Ms. Melodie, who passed away on July 17, 2012
[Rest in Poetic Peace to Ramona “Ms. Melodie” Parker, best known as the First Lady of Boogie Down Productions and the musical muse of her ex-husband, “The Teacher”, KRS-ONE. Ms. Melodie is Hip-Hop History! And she should be remembered in those regards!]
The Women of Hip-Hop are forever. From Roxanne Shante to MC Lyte, to Monie Love to Queen Latifah to YoYo, The Lady of Rage to Da Brat, and from Lil’ Kim to Foxy Brown and beyond – oh, and can’t forget Lauryn Hill or Rah Digga, Missy Elliot or Eve, Jean Grae or Remy Martin, to Nicki Minaj and every woman of Hip-Hop in between – they are forever. And, they are hurting. They’re stressed. They’re one false move from becoming absolutely voiceless. Oppressed.
In a male-dominated, sex driven industry, women who hope to one day stand center-stage and move the crowd face challenges unbeknownst to their potential fans. Each and every Woman of Hip-Hop has sacrificed something about herself to gain access to a microphone. Some may have sacrificed their bodies. Some may have sacrificed their songwriting. Some were forced to battle it out like gladiators until there was one woman barely standing. Their sacrifices are vast and continue on to this day. Their oppression is systematic. And possibly after you read AllHipHop.com’s “8 Reasons the Women of Hip-Hop are Oppressed”, you’ll look at a solitary Nicki Minaj a bit differently:
8. Pressure of One: The pressure of one…weighs a ton. Say hello to Nicki Minaj. The chosen one, the only one (international females not included). 2012 is a far cry from the late ’90s when the Women of Hip-Hop stood their strongest. If you weren’t into Missy, Left Eye was a dope alternative. Maybe it was Trina, maybe it was Gangsta Boo. The options were there, though. Now, it’s Nicki Minaj, or get out of dodge. You can’t blame Nicki for her circumstances. Everybody wants her to be everything. She can’t rap enough. She can’t rep her hometown enough. She stands next to Foxy Brown, that’s a problem. She sits next to Taylor Swift, that’s a problem. This is what happens when you’re the only thing smoking. And I won’t even delve into the Lil’ Kim fans bashing Nicki. As if Lil’ Kim’s music preached “Staying in School” and “Rapping it Up”. Oppressed.
7. Soul, Sold to a Loser: The icon was once quoted that he could sell water to a whale. Pipe-dreams are also sold. Young women aren’t even making it out of their hometowns without instrumentals and studio time being attached to indecent proposals. What she doesn’t know is none of the samples are cleared. He doesn’t know the difference between Production and Engineering. And she could find better equipment at a karaoke bar. Pedophile studios are set up across the country by men and women. Many dreams will fail before they exit the basement. Oppressed.
6. Their Ghostwriters: Men have used women as vessels to spread a Man’s message to the masses for years. For example, we all know The Notorious B.I.G. was a ghostwriter for Lil’ Kim from time to time. When you account for how sexually potent her lyrics were, you must ask yourself, who did her lyrics truly benefit? Was Lil’ Kim the ’90s symbol of sexual expression, or a subliminal message to women to engage in heightened sexual acts?
Women face certain exile if exposed for hiring ghostwriters. Since there are so few women in the genre, the eggshells they walk on are equipped with C-4. Oppressed.
5. Identity Theft: As the number of women in Rap dwindled down after the turn of the millennium, R&B singers worked their way into the position of ‘tough girl.’ Artists like Beyonce, Melanie Fiona, and Keyshia Cole all have an edge to their brand in terms of presence, slang, and overall message. New rappers shouldn’t have to battle for ‘tough girl’ market share with Beyonce. First of all, they can’t win. Second of all, they can’t win. And finally, hang it up. Oppressed.
4. Mainstream Exile: Mainstream success and the Women of Hip-Hop don’t mix well. Not to say that a woman going mainstream isn’t a good thing. It’s a beautiful thing. The question is, is there a home for her in the mainstream as an MC? Will she need to become something she’s not to survive in a larger pond? Will she need to become who she was all along? Will her core fans flip from admiration to rabid wolves the first time she appears next to a Pop star, or the first time she sings instead of raps? Yes, to all of the above. Success is bitter without the sweet. She’s lost in a world where she’s starting over, and the hate from the fans her success left behind is truly real. Oppressed.
3. The Lauryn Hill Factor: What happens when an artist with very little Rap content, becomes the consensus favorite Woman of Hip-Hop? Lauryn Hill and her Miseducation album could be looked at as the greatest thing to happen to Hip-Hop for women, or classified as Rap lore. The album has one Rap song – “Lost One”. The rest was pure Hip-Hop/R&B. The album fell under the Mary J. Blige category.
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was a turning point in Hip-Hop/R&B. The album was an award-winning powerhouse, catapulting Lauryn instantly into mainstream elite. For all that it’s worth, Lauryn’s impact on Rap music can’t be denied. However, we must take a step back from hailing a mostly singing Lauryn as the end all to be all for female MCs. Oppressed.
2. Broken Egos: Rap music has been competitive since day one. If you wanted the microphone, you competed for it. So what happens when the only female in your crew shines brighter than you? We’ve heard rumblings over the years involving artists like Remy Ma and Rah Digga possibly being oppressed by the men who signed them for that reason. Remy Ma on that “Ante Up” remix, anyone? How about “Lean Back”? Whether you believe the exact situations or not, believe that they happen. Believe that it’s possible. For no man with a big ego is willing to be sliced and diced by a woman. Oppressed.
1. Lack of U.N.I.T.Y.: In order to grow in any industry, you need sustainability. You need to command positions of power. You must fight politics with sharper politics. The Women of Hip-Hop are fighting an uphill battle through quicksand. By the time one of them makes it to the top, they’re spent. Try telling her, “Now that you’re #1 on the Billboard Charts, become the VP of A&R.” She won’t be too enthused.
But if she was running A&R, she could remove some of the shady and sign a few ladies. As long as she doesn’t turn around and proposition those ladies…herself. Oppressed.
What are your thoughts on the oppressed state of Women in Hip-Hop?
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Rick Ross has vowed to return to North Carolina to perform live after a pair of concert dates were cancelled.
The dates were put to an abrupt halt, because of fears of gang violence at the venues.
“North Carolina, I wuz so excited to perform tomorro wit #MMG” Ross said on Twitter. “Promoters cancelled show but I’ll be Back ASAP. #luv”
As previously reported, dates in Greensboro and Charlotte were ceased, but the rapper countered that he cancelled them.

A new date has not yet been announced.
(AllHipHop News) Miami rap star Rick Ross canceled two concerts in North Carolina this weekend, after police stated security would be beefed up over gang threats against the rapper.
Rick Ross canceled concerts in Greensboro and Charlotte, although the exact reason has not been confirmed.
According to the Charlotte Observer, local police were on high alert, over numerous threats against Rick Ross in recent weeks, by various factions of The Gangster Disciples.
The GD’s are upset over the fact that Rick Ross allegedly reneged on some sort of agreement and over the usage of the gang’s six-point star on the cover of his mixtape “The Black Bar Mitzvah.”
Freeway Ricky Ross, who is currently in court with Rick Ross, over claims that his image was hijacked by the rapper for commercial usage.
“It’s not just disrespectful to have crossed a line. But when you stay crossed. A fan brought to my attention you look at the guys twitter TONIGHT @rickyrozay the issue they have is front and center with their image being used,” Freeway Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com. “It’s just like my name RICK ROSS and the blatant disrespect and profiteering despite a clear request to stop. It’s disrespectful!”
The concerts in North Carolina were also supposed to feature Maybach Music Group artists Meek Mill, Wale and others.
“I don’t think any of these companies Warner or UMG should’ve gone to him to get permission to use my name and image, they should’ve come to me and still should,” Freeway Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com. “Even this situation with The GD’s, he did the same thing with these guys. They told you their issue address it. People don’t deal with things the same way, especially street people. This guy just doesn’t have the right people around him to explain the streets, and then say that when you violate someone just address it as a man. You need to say that it wasn’t intentional or nothing like that. Its Ok to apologize and make things right with a real agreement out of respect.
Live Nation Entertainment, which promoted the concerts, said refunds would be available beginning tomorrow (December 7).
(AllHipHop News) Veteran skateboarder Stevie Williams and Young Money Records CEO Lil Wayne have teamed with SUPRA to present the new “S1W” sneaker.

It doesn’t look like the French Montana vs. 50 Cent beef is going anywhere anytime soon, but things just got a lot more interesting. French recently challenged 50 Cent to drop his album on the same day as his highly anticipated debut, Excuse My French. French tweeted, “@50cent if u really about Dat life lets drop our album da same day and see who sell more u had your turn old man.”
Now, this challenge is one that I can get into! Do you guys remember when Kanye West and 50 dropped on the same day? 50 promised that if Yeezy sold more than he did that he would retire. As we all know, 50 reneged on that threat and hasn’t been quite the same since.
So far no response from 50 on the challenge, but I think this could be good for Hip-Hop. Do you think 50 should take Frenchie up on the challenge? If he does and French wins, I’m pretty sure that could be the end of 50’s musical career. What do you think?

Our satirical and funny friend, Andre Leroy Davis, was back at it again in 2012 with “The Last Word”, his unique brand of cartoonish commentary on current events and politics.
In one of the top stories of the year, iconic rapper/entrepreneur Jay-Z and his equally major singing wife, Beyonce, welcomed baby Blue Ivy Carter into the world on January 7, 2012. Even before her birth there were rampant pregnancy rumors, guesses about possible names, and the sense that Hip-Hop’s royal couple was birthing its first heir to The Throne.
Andre captures the momentous occasion and Blue Ivy’s first rap recording (“Glory”) in his “The Last Word” cartoon from this past January:
