Rapper Seeks to Break Guinness Record With 52 Hour Freestyle

Arrow is seeking to establish a new Guinness record by embarking on 52
hour freestyle.
Arrow,
who is based out of Brooklyns Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, will
start freestyling this afternoon. The majority of the rhymes will be in
12 hour intervals, with the rapper taking hour breaks to recover before
stopping at 52 hours.
Naming
the event Suckas Need Bodyguards, DJ Green Arrow is framing his event
as a tribute to recently deceased legends Guru and Roc Raida, and all
Hip-Hop fans worldwide. Also, the rapper has emphasized that all his
rhymes will be 100% improvised and inspired by what he sees.

Rapper Says Lil Wayne, Producers Stole “Lollipop” In New Lawsuit
(AllHipHop News) Jailed rapper Lil Wayne has been hit with another lawsuit surrounding his hit 2008 single Lollipop, taken from his hit album Tha Carter III. Philadelphia rapper/musician Dirahn Gilliams filed the lawsuit in United States District Court Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Friday (April 30th), claiming Lil Waynes song Lollipop was based on his 2007 track Grindin Like a Goon. Defendants in the lawsuit include Lil Wayne, producer Darius Deezle Harrison, James Jim Jonsin Scheffer, Rex Zamor, Cash Money, Young Money and Universal. According to Gilliams, in April or May of 2007, he sent copies to a number of people in the industry, including Flo Rida, Briscoe, executive Kevon Glickmon and producers Deezle and Jim Jonsin. He claims that Young Money received a copy of his track through one of these entities, although Briscoe, Glickmon and Flo-Rida are not named in the lawsuit. Gilliams claims that Deezle, Jonsin and Rex Zamor illegally used portions of his Grindin Like A Goon and turned it into Lollipop, which was a huge hit for Lil Wayne in 2008 and has been certified 4X Platinum by the RIAA. Gilliams is seeking an injunction to prevent further sales of Tha Carter III and Lollipop, in addition to monetary damages, lost profits, actual damages, restitution and compensatory and punitive damages. Ironically, both Deezle and Jim Jonsin are suing Lil Wayne as well. In February, Deezle filed a lawsuit claiming Lil Wayne owes him $2.5 million dollars in unpaid royalties for the single Mrs. Officer.Jonsin slapped Lil Wayne with a $500,000 lawsuit for unpaid royalties over Lollipop. Additionally, producers Play-N-Skillz have voiced their displeasure with Lil Wayne and Cash Money, claiming they were never paid for their production on the track Got Money featuring T-Pain. In March, Lil Wayne began serving a one-year prison sentenced on Rikers Island for weapons possession.

Obie Trice Announces New Album; Confirms Em For ‘Bottom’s Up’
(AllHipHop News) Detroit rapper Obie Trice will try his hand as an executive with the launch of his new label, Black Market Entertainment LLC. On May 7th, Obie will officially launch the label with various music executives at Via Nove, a metro-Detroit restaurant located in Ferndale. Artists scheduled to attend the Obie Experience include Eminem, Akon, D12, Dr. Dre, Trick Trick, DJ House Shoes, Chris Webber, Jerome Bettis, Royce Da 59 and others. You invented the remix, although you ran remixing into the ground. I mention all of this just to say I really do appreciate your contributions to Hip Hop.
I have to admit, though, that Im a little worried about what youre next moves are. NEW YORK Police found an amateurish but potentially powerful bomb that apparently began to detonate but did not explode in a smoking sport utility vehicle in Times Square, authorities said Sunday.
Thousands of tourists were cleared from the streets for 10 hours after two vendors alerted police to the suspicious vehicle, which contained three propane tanks, fireworks, two filled 5-gallon gasoline containers, and two clocks with batteries, electrical wire and other components, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.
We avoided what we could have been a very deadly event, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said. It certainly could have exploded and had a pretty big fire and a decent amount of explosive impact.
The bomb appeared to be starting to detonate but malfunctioned, top police spokesman Paul Browne said Sunday.
Firefighters who arrived shortly after the first call heard a popping sound, said Fire Commissioner Sal Cassano, who described the sound as not quite an explosion.
I think the intent was to cause a significant ball of fire, Kelly said.

Now on its fifth installment, Splinter Cell Conviction (Ubisoft) takes an already stellar gameplay to bigger heights with an updated cover system and other welcomed additions. Conviction brings back our usual protagonist Sam Fisher, and frankly he is not happy. The time is set to a couple of years after Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Those who might have missed the pre-cursor will be brought to speed pretty quickly through cut scenes, dialogue and bloody interrogation sequences. Sams daughter was killed and this unfortunate tragedy has brought back the hard boiled agent out of retirement. On top of that, these same individuals responsible for his little girls death are planning a major attack on Washington DC; just another day in the day and life of Sam Fisher.Conviction is all about stealth, and it doesnt disappoint one bit. You can duck, crouch, and take cover behind any wall or object with a flick of a button. When you are in the shadows and it is impossible for your enemies to see you, the screen will turn black and white. Once you are in the light and can be spotted, the standard color scheme comes back into play. This minor but significant change adds another layer of strategy and planning to the overall experience. What is a gift and a curse in the game is the Mark & Execute system. In short you can mark several enemies at a time with a red cursor to be executed with a Lee Harvey Oswald preciseness. The drawback is that you have to earn those guaranteed hits with stealth kills. This can be a frustrating since looking specifically for stealth kills can slow you down. Additionally there are often more guys in your scope that you can mark causing the rest to be alerted to you presence.At your disposal are a number of weapons. You can choose from your standard silenced pistol which is more suited for stealth to more powerful automated machine guns that can take out a small army. As you progress through the game you get bonuses for completing specific goals and meeting targets. In turn you get points to upgrade your weaponry to improve accuracy, stopping power, and add different attachments to your firearms. Outside of the main campaign, weve got a very strong multiplayer component. You and a friend can team up as agents Archer and Kestrel and work in tandem to track down some WMDs before its too late. The double team efforts change the approach to game, lending to very fun kill combinations.Hands down Conviction is the best title in Splinter Cell series and in the stealth action genre to date. The new cover system is easy to pick up and the story is wildly intense. After a few hours on the sticks with this engrossing thriller, you will find that there is a little of Sam Fisher in all of us; for better or worse.

Diddy Hits Rikers To Visit Lil Wayne
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Sean Diddy Combs hit Rikers Island earlier in the week to visit jailed rapper Lil Wayne. According to the New York Daily News, Combs hopped the bus to Rikers to visit Lil Wayne on Wednesday (April 28th) at the Eric M. Taylor correctional facility. Diddy, who was on a pre-approved list, met with Lil Wayne for about an hour at the prison.Despite being incarcerated for the next eight months for gun possession, Lil Wayne continues to make headlines in the media. Last week, Amelia Negron, a prison guard at Rikers Island, announced that she was filing a federal lawsuit against the Department of Corrections, after she was allegedly fired for spying on the rapper, while he was visiting a guest.

Shout out to Kat! She’s got everybody talking in these streets.Here is some clarity. Apparently, she was doing that legal stuff in Florida and not Cali. Sorry about that that wasnt my sources mistake. Here are some more points of clarification. Apparently Kat Stacks has had some issues with prostitution in the past. She was arrested in May of 2009 for a gun possession charge as per the Broward County Florida Clerks office records online. It is alleged that at that time Kat Stacks and another young lady were arrested during a escort service sting. Kat Stacks was booked for possession of a firearm and grand theft, while the other girl was charged with offering sex for money. Its come to my attention now that she is possibly having some issues because of this arrest. She is a citizen of Venezuela and has overstayed her Visa, thus leading to her possible deportation. It was also brought to my attention that she is indeed in talks with VH1 about a reality show and she has actually signed already to have a pilot.

Less than an hour ago, Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley faced off one last time before theyll engage in battle tomorrow night (May 1) in the MGM Grand for the welterweight title.
Fans at the weigh-in slightly favored Mosley, who looked great coming right in at 147 despite his last fight being in January 2009.
Mayweather was well-defined, and without having to worry about a catchweight like his last fight, came in at 146 pounds.
There wasnt much trash-talking, as both men are likely well aware the hype has run its course.
Now that youve seen the weigh-in, read all the interviews, and reviewed their previous fights, who is going to win the May 1 showdown?

Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns Discuss Mayweather-Mosley
Marquee welterweight matchups always seem to capture the publics imagination. Some, like Leonard-Duran, exceed all expectations and become classics. Others, such as De La Hoya-Trinidad, have all the ingredients but simply fall short.
So as we approach another epic showdown, its only fitting that Tommy Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard reflect on their phenomenal 1980 encounter, and what they expect tomorrow night.
“This is going to be a very good fight. I think it is going to be a very competitive fight. It is going to be a chess match, Hearns explained. I think Mayweather should do well with that style. I think Shane is going to try to test that and see how well he can get that shot in.
Regarding whether the fight would be as good as his first fight with Leonard, the Hitman doubted if their styles could mesh as well.
“I don’t see it being the same as me and Ray. We set the standard and it’s going to be tough to top what we did, Hearns stated. I am proud to know Ray Leonard. Ray brought the best out of me and I think I brought the best out of him. It’s going to be a great fight this Saturday night, but don’t look for the same thing as happened in our fight. That was a different era.
Sugar Ray Leonard disagreed with his former rival, believing Mayweather and Mosley can live up to previous welterweight classics.
Most of the time fights don’t live up to expectations. But fights like this, with Mosley and Mayweather, are highly anticipated, he explained. I truly believe that this fight here, these two guys will indeed live up to expectations, because whether they say it or not, it is about bragging rights. Yeah it’s about the money. Everyone wants the money, but for the guy who wins, it’s bragging rights.
When asked how Mayweather would have done in their era, both were dismissive of Floyds chances.
Floyd would have been too small for us. We were really big welterweights, said Hearns. Hes a small guy. We wouldve made it very difficult. Anytime youre punching up at someone, thats a big difference.
Leonard agreed regarding a potential Mayweather-Hearns fantasy matchup.
Tommy is a freak of nature for a welterweight. He’s big, strong, powerful, has a big heart, and I don’t think anyone could beat Tommy Hearns…except me, Leonard quipped.

Mayweather-Mosley: True or False
In discussing this fight with fans and fellow fans, there have been several, oft repeated talking
points emerging. But are they really true? Lets analyze.
1. Shane Mosley is the best opponent Floyd Mayweather has ever faced.
True.
Shane Mosley is a first ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best welterweights of the last decade. Since arriving in the welterweight division in 2005, Floyd Mayweather has faced Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, Ricky Hatton, and Juan Manuel Marquez. None of these fighters are in Mosleys league. And the same applies with his standout super featherweight and lightweight opponents in Diego Corrales and Genaro Hernandez.
Oscar De La Hoya was still good at 154 when Floyd faced him in 2007. However, Oscar was not pummeling the best of his division at that time with his sporadic schedule, unlike Mosley.
2. Mayweather is the best opponent Mosley has faced at 147.
True.
Because of the scrutiny applied to Mayweathers welterweight record, this is often overlooked. With all due respect to Miguel Cotto, the only fighter close to Floyd on Mosleys welterweight ledger is Oscar De La Hoya. Although the Golden Boy presented Mosley with a classic battle in 2000, I believe that Floyd is much smarter and craftier than the Golden Boy, which will force Mosley to make more adjustments in the ring than he did against Oscar, whom he was able to outwork and out brawl down the stretch to take the decision.
3. Since Miguel Cotto outfoxed and beat him, Shane has no chance outside of a KO against Mayweather.
Not True.
Before the Margarito and Pacquiao beatings, Cotto was arguably the best welterweight in world and without question had fought the best competition at the weight. Following the Mosley fight, Cotto had defeated 4 straight Top 10 welterweight contenders.
With Shane, he combined a hard jab and accurate, powerful hooks to keep Mosley honest early. Mosleys iron chin saw him through a difficult first half, and the Puerto Rican star narrowly escaped with a close, but hard fought decision.
Cotto has much more power in his punches than Mayweather, and that was essential in keeping Mosley from overwhelming him early. Mayweather has deceptive, stinging power, but it remains to be seen if its enough to get Mosleys respect. If not, Shane will continue pressing his attacks, most likely to the body. If his stamina holds after a 16 month layoff, and hes worked on shortening his punches and continuing to enhance his jab (which looked good in the Margarito bout), there is a chance he can outwork Mayweather, whos relegated his once great, varied combination offense to potshots at higher weights.
4. Mosley is too big and strong for Mayweather. Floyd will probably be roughed up.
Not True.
Mayweather has fully grown into welterweight. When he first came back, there was talk that maybe he could still make 140. That went out the window last September against Marquez when Floyd couldnt make the specified catch-weight of 142, costing him thousands of dollars. To date, Mayweather has shown toughness and held his ground in the trenches when faced with aggressive fighters. Against determined by lesser fighters in Emmanuel Augustus and Jesus Chavez, Mayweather dissected them with short uppercuts and hooks. When injured, he stood toe to toe in later rounds with a prime Jose Luis Castillo, which enabled him to escape with a disputed decision. Even in a division he had no business in at junior middleweight, Mayweather was able to control a bigger Oscar De La Hoya in the clinches.
A look at their weigh-in physiques show Mosley and Mayweather are very close in size, so its not a given Shane will the stronger man tomorrow night.
5. The winner will automatically face Manny Pacquiao next.
Not True.
There is a rematch clause in place, which most certainly will be exercised in the event the decision is disputed and the fight lives up to expectations. Top Rank and Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum rather keep his funds in-house by pitting Manny against Antonio Margarito later this year.
Its not what the people want, but how often do promoters listen to fans?
Prediction: Mayweather Unanimous Decision
It may have been a different story 10 years ago, but at this stage I believe that Mayweather has the ring smarts and style to frustrate Shane. It will be exciting at times, but Shane himself told me that hes a expecting to make it a tactical, technical battle, and theres no way he can beat Floyd at that game.
Mosley is a lot slower than the fighter he was when he burst onto the welterweight scene on 2000 in beating Oscar De La Hoya, and itll show when hes in the ring with someone whos not standing directly in front of him like Ricardo Mayorga and Antonio Margarito.

Joe Calzaghe to Make Return Against Super Six Winner?
Before the weigh-in, Golden Boy brought a host of fighters to be received by the crowd. Among them was retired, undefeated super middleweight and light-heavyweight champion Joe Calzaghe.
What struck me immediately was that Calzaghe appeared to be in great shape despite his last fight being 2 years ago!
Now, there have been unsubstantiated rumblings that Calzaghe has considered facing the winner of Showtimes Super Six tournament. Previously Id dismissed those rumors, but there may be some credence to them based on Calzaghes looking in fighting shape.
Ill do my best to track the Welshman down and get to the bottom of it. It wont be easy; we are in Vegas and Joe is known to party hard. Who knows how many clubs hell hit up tonight!

Freeway and Jake One will premiere the new video for She Makes Me Feel Alright this Sunday on MTV Jams, during Philly Day. In addition to showcasing new music from the citys top artists, Philly Day will also spotlight new emerging artists. She Makes Me Feel Alright is the second video release from Freeway and Jake Ones critically acclaimed project, The Stimulus Package. Other artists included in Philly Day include Meek Mill, Eve, Beanie Sigel, The Roots, Tone Trump, Gillie Da Kid and others. Videos from rap legends like Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Steady B., Cool C., Schoolly D and others. Philly Day airs on MTV Jams this Sunday (May 2nd). Swizz Beatz will be honored by performing rights society SESAC next week in New York City. Erykah Badu has pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct stemming from her controversial video, Window Seat. Badu was hit with the charge after she stripped naked as she shot the video in Dallas Dealey Plaza. Badu was hit with the charges after police encouraged witnesses in the video to complain in order to charge the soul singer. One witness came forward and said Badus actions offended her and her two small children, resulting in the misdemeanor charge. Instead of paying the $500 fine associated with the crime, Badu will fight the charge.
