Chance the Rapper Wins Outstanding New Artist At NAACP Awards

CHANCE WINS AN NAACP AWARD

(AllHipHop News) It looks like Chance The Rapper is going to have an award winning weekend.

The Chicago rapper is out in Los Angeles, where he’s nominated for seven Grammy Awards.

But Chance was also nominated at the 48th Annual NAACP Awards, which took place at the Pasadena Conference Center.

Chance snagged Outstanding New Artist at the award ceremony, during the non-televised category.

The remaining nine categories, including Entertainer of The Year, will be announced tonight (February 11), during a two hour live telecast hosted by Anthony Anderson.

Other winners during the evening included Kendrick Lamar and Beyonce, who snagged an award for their song “Freedom,” as well as Jussie Smollett, who took home an award for his role in “Empire.”

Naturi Naughton took home Outstanding Supporting Actress In a Series, for her role in 50 Cent’s drama on Starz, “Power.”
