Death Row’s Chief Engineer Writes Tell-All Book About The Label

NEW BOOK TELLS ALL ABOUT DEATH ROW RECORDS

(AllHipHop News) A new tell all book reveals the inner workings of Death Row records, and some of its most popular artists.

Veteran producer Tommy “Tommy D” Daugherty is releasing a new tell-all book titled “Stranded on Death Row: With 2Pac, Dr. Dre, & Snoop Dogg.”

The producer details his time at Death Row, from the label’s inception, to its eventual demise in 2006, after the label’s CEO Marion “Suge” Knight, was forced to file for bankruptcy.

During his time at Death Row, Tommy D engineered hits for Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and of course Tupac Shakur.

According to Tommy, he got the job by chance.

“I was at Death Row from the beginning to the end. I was hired while working on Prince’s albums… the rap guys next door had apparently kicked the engineer out!” Daugherty stated.

Tommy, who is an RIAA Diamond certified engineer (over 10 million sold), has worked with artists from a variety of genres, including George Clinton, Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney.

But it was his position as the chief engineer that gave him a bird’s eye view into the inner workings of Death Row records, and the recording artists on the label.

Tommy’s new book will reveal some new details about Death Row records, the “East Coast/West Coast” feud and his extensive work with Pac.

“Stranded on Death Row: With 2Pac, Dr. Dre, & Snoop Dogg will hit stores sometime this year.
