Drake dropped his new single “What Did I Miss?” at midnight on July 5 with a cryptic livestream and a barrage of subliminal shots aimed at rivals and former allies.
The Toronto rapper premiered the track during a livestream titled Iceman: Episode 1, where he cruised through the city in a branded truck, teasing what many believe is the name of his next album.
The visual presentation featured scenes of Drake inside a freezer set, surrounded by flashing lights and icy props, which added to the mystique of the rollout.
The lyrics of “What Did I Miss?” center on betrayal, shifting loyalties and the aftermath of his public feud with Kendrick Lamar.
One line in particular raised eyebrows: “I saw bro in the Pop Out with them but been d*ckriding gang since ‘Headlines.”
The reference appears to target LeBron James, who attended Kendrick’s Pop Out concert in Los Angeles, held on Juneteenth 2024.
The single was teased hours before its release with a cryptic Instagram post that read “Be Here at 9,” which sent social media into a frenzy.
The post, paired with the livestream, fueled speculation that Iceman is the title of Drake’s upcoming project. Drake’s supporters on platforms like X and TikTok have defended the track, calling it a return to form.
K dot fans just mad at the exposure. Drake was and will continue to be Drake.

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar’s base has been vocal in their disapproval, calling the song “lazy” and “uninspired” in Reddit threads and comment sections.

But I’m a Kendrick fan
Kendrick built legacy off art and impact. Drake built his off consistency and control. Both elite, just different definitions of GOAT.
