EBK Jaaybo faced a federal judge in Arkansas last week after a traffic stop led to serious drug and weapons charges that could land him behind bars for three decades.
The Stockton, California, rapper was arrested on May 18 in Pope County after Arkansas State Police pulled him over on Interstate 40. A search of his vehicle uncovered marijuana, unidentified pills, $8,379 in cash and a Glock pistol equipped with a machine gun conversion device.
Authorities later confirmed the firearm was reported stolen in California.
Federal prosecutors just indicted Jaaybo on multiple charges, including possession of a machine gun in furtherance of drug trafficking, possession of a firearm by a felon and transporting a firearm across state lines while under indictment.
If convicted on the most serious counts, he faces a mandatory minimum of 30 years in prison, according to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
He entered a plea of not guilty and a trial date was set for late July.
The arrest came at a critical point in Jaaybo’s career. He had just been announced as a performer on NBA YoungBoy’s “MASA” (Make America Slime Again) tour but was dropped from the lineup following the charges.
This is not Jaaybo’s first encounter with the law in 2025. On March 6, he was taken into custody on separate charges, including drug possession, ammunition violations, driving without a license and probation violations.
He was released on bond on March 19 for that arrest. Before that, he served over a year in San Joaquin County Jail for illegal gun possession.
Despite his growing legal troubles, Jaaybo’s music career had been gaining traction on the West Coast Hip-Hop scene.
As of Sunday (June 29), Jaaybo remains in custody at the Pope County Detention Center awaiting trial.
