(AllHipHop News) Jas Prince has been in a legal dispute with Cash Money Records for years.
Back in 2015, reports circulated that Prince was moving his lawsuit against the music label over Drake royalties from Florida to New York.
Now TMZ insists Prince is behind more legal documents taking aim directly at Cash Money founders Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams.
The original suit targeted Cash Money and Aspire Music Group for unpaid profits worth millions.
Apparently, Prince now owns part of Aspire, and he is still seeking to collect money for his supposed contributions to Drake’s highly successful career.
According to the [new] suit, Birdman’s blowing off his contractual duty to pay Aspire Music one-third of his Drake profits. He also signed Drake to an exclusive deal in January 2013, but according to docs … that new contract breached Drake’s original one, and cheated Aspire out of $4 million.
Jas Prince is often credited with discovering Drake and connecting him with the Young Money imprint under Cash Money.
“Cortez Bryant is [Lil] Wayne’s manager. When we figured out that we wanted to work on the [Drake] project, Cortez flew down to Houston and sat with me and my dad [Rap-A-Lot Records founder James Prince] and we talked about how we were going to do it—50/50, with him and Wayne and me and my dad, Young Money and Young Empire,” stated Prince in 2015 interview.
