King Von’s Family Releases Official Statement Following His Death

King Von

Fans can expect more music and other content coming from the late rapper’s estate.

Dayvon Daquan Bennett was shot outside an Atlanta nightclub on November 6. The Chicago-raised rapper, better known as King Von, later died at a local hospital. Timothy “Lul Timm” Leeks, 22, was charged with murdering Bennett.

Some of King Von’s associates – such as his surviving girlfriend Asian Doll – have spoken out about his death. Even individuals who were not directly connected to the 26-year-old deceased rhymer – such as Atlanta-based Hip Hop veteran T.I. – shared their views on the violence taking place on the streets of America.

King Von’s kin has now publicly addressed his death. The Welcome to O’Block album creator’s verified Instagram page posted a statement signed by “Von’s family & team.”  The message reads:

Thank you to everyone who has showed their outpouring of love for King Von. You all played a massive role in Von’s accomplishments, and by continuing to play his music and sharing your stories about how he has inspired and influenced you all, you’re keeping his legacy alive. To celebrate Von’s artistry, vision, and the immense love that he had for his fans, we will be continuing his roll out of Welcome to O’Block, while working to share unreleased music and interviews that he devoted his creativity into completing. Von had also been working on new endeavors that we will be announcing down the line.

Since Von’s passing, Welcome To O’Block climbed into the Billboard 200’s Top 10 region at #5 after previously peaking at #13. Fours songs from the project made it onto the Hot 100 this week – “Took Her to the O” (#47), “The Code” featuring Polo G (#66), “All These N#####” featuring Lil Durk (#77), and “Crazy Story 2.0” featuring Lil Durk (#81). These were King Von’s first entries on the Hot 100 chart.
