Billboard and Children Uniting Nations (CUN) will come together on Oscar weekend to present the 8th Annual CUN Academy Awards celebration.
The black tie event, which will be hosted by rapper Lil’ Kim, acknowledges the 2007 honorees for the
“Inspiring Our Children to Dream Awards.”
Beginning on Friday, February 23rd, Lil’ Kim and CUN founder, Daphna Ziman, will host a private press conference and luncheon in Beverly Hills to announce the honorees.
The festivities continue in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 25th, when Billboard, along with CUN and Lil’ Kim host the 8th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Dinner at The Music Box @ Fonda.
The event is set to include a formal dinner, dancing, musical performances and a silent and live auction.
The dinner will be followed by the CUN after party, which will include performances by American Idols Ruben Studdard and Diana Degarmo, Hip-Hop pioneer Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, rap legend DMX, and DJ Spinderella on the wheels of steel.
Children Uniting Nations provides the largest mentoring program for Los Angeles foster children.
Their Oscar night celebration serves as the
primary media awareness and fundraising event for the program.
Many acclaimed actors and performers such as Chaka Khan, Wilmer Valderamma, Tracey Edmonds, Lil’ Kim, Stephen Dorff, and Jasmine Guy are involved with CUN and serve as Goodwill Ambassadors for the cause.
