“The Curse of Bridge Hollow” comedian says the reports are “false narratives.”

Kelly Rowland made headlines in recent days after the Mea Culpa actress apparently quit a February 15 hosting gig for Today with Hoda & Jenna over dressing room concerns. Marlon Wayans defended the former Destiny’s Child member.

Wayans, who acted alongside Kelly Rowland in 2022’s The Curse of Bridge Hollow comedy horror movie, took to Instagram to offer his thoughts on the Today situation.

“Y’all stop with these false narratives,” he wrote. “I’ve worked with @kellyrowland as a star/producer. I will honestly say she was nothing short of AMAZING. Sweet, kind, professional. On time, great energy, impeccable manners and professionalism.”

“She was nice to EVERYONE on set. Not one diva moment. S### happens in Hollywood. Get both sides before you castrate anymore legends. Love this woman. Y’all stop this BS. This woman was nothing short of a humble, loving queen… PERIOD.”

According to reports, Kelly Rowland decided not to remain on Today for the show’s fourth hour after appearing as a guest. British singer Rita Ora replaced Rowland on the NBC morning show.

“Kelly walked out because she and her team didn’t like her dressing room,” a source told People. “Rita Ora agreed to fill in at the last minute.”

Tyler Perry’s Mea Culpa starring Kelly Rowland and Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight, Bird Box) makes its Netflix premiere on Friday (February 23). Rowland also served as a producer for the film.
