Outkast’s
new release, Aquemini (pronounced ah-qwem-in-eye) has received
5 Mics in The Source. Aquemini shipped Gold and is expected to
surpass their first two releases in sales, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik
(1994) 1 million and ATLiens (1996) 1.5 million. The first single
from Aquemini “Rosa Parks” was shipped to radio and is scheduled
for adds Oct. 12th. The video can be seen on MTV, BET and local
video outlets. “Skew It On The Barb-B” featuring Raekwon from
The Wu Tang Clan was serviced simultaneously to the streets. A
video including Raekwon will be shot this month. Outkast will
be on the covers of Rap Pages and The Source for the November
issues. OutKast will perform on the Chris Rock Show (HBO) Oct.
9th, and is currently making plans to tour.
