Solange Knowles received widespread acclaim for her 2016 studio LP A Seat at the Table. However, the R&B singer still has one regret about that body of work.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Solange Knowles spoke about wanting to have stand-up comic Katt Williams appear on the A Seat at the Table album. She even admitted regretting the omission.
“I was supposed to work with Katt Williams on A Seat at the Table. I went to his show, went backstage to ask him. Honestly, I fumbled the ball. But he is singular,” Solange told the outlet.
Katt Williams broke the internet earlier this year with his headline-grabbing sitdown on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. The Friday After Next actor called out other comedians such as Kevin Hart and Rickey Smiley.
A Seat at the Table did feature Lil Wayne, Sampha, The Dream, BJ The Chicago Kid, Q-Tip, Kelly Rowland and Kelela. Additionally, Master P showed up on several interludes.
Solange’s A Seat at the Table single “Cranes in the Sky” won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance in 2017. Raphael Saadiq co-wrote that gold-certified ballad.
