THE SUPERSTARS ARE CURATING THE BEST RECORDS!

(AllHipHop News) Elton John, Quincy Jones and George Clinton are to curate a new vinyl record subscription service.

The music superstars have signed up to oversee Experience Vinyl as artist-curators, alongside rapper Talib Kweli and Sean Lennon.

Those who subscribe to service will be sent their chosen artist-curator’s favourite albums, a personalised commentary, and a list of their ten favourite albums.

A portion of the $30 a month subscribers pay will be directed to their chosen artist’s charity of choice, with Elton’s profits funding his AIDS Foundation.

Experience Vinyl’s founder Brad Hammonds told Billboard magazine that his long-held love of vinyl records inspired him to create the service.

“Growing up a vinyl fanatic, I’ve had the desire to create a record club for the better part of my adult life,” he said. “Experience Vinyl is a different kind of subscription service and a dream for any vinyl lover.”

He added, “Who better to send you great music each month than artists themselves? It’s an honour to work with some of the greatest musicians of all time, and we’re excited to share their personal and meaningful picks with all of you.”

Members will also receive invitations to special concerts and be entered into draws for special trips.

The service will be fully launched in April, with subscribers receiving their records delivered directly to their door.
