(AllHipHop News) In the latest example of Tidal hosting exclusive content, the entertainment platform is now allowing members and nonmembers read an excerpt from Ben Westhoff’s Original Gangstas: The Untold Story of Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Tupac Shakur, and the Birth of West Coast Rap.
The award-winning journalist provided a section of his new book about the making and aftermath of Ice Cube’s classic sophomore album Death Certificate.
Westhoff also curated two music playlists for Tidal – “Music from ‘Original Gangstas’” and “Artists Who Influenced Ice Cube.”
The former list includes West Coast legends such as Cube, N.W.A., 2Pac, Ice-T, and Snoop Dogg. The latter list features Sugarhill Gang, Public Enemy, Run-DMC, Schoolly D, and more.
