The actor/model was arrested and his grandmother detained after his Cane Corsos were linked to a deadly dog attack in Atlanta, prompting a police search of his home.

Tyrese Gibson‘s Atlanta mansion became the center of a police search after his Cane Corsos were allegedly involved in a deadly dog attack that left a neighbor’s spaniel dead and prompted an animal cruelty charge.

The incident unfolded on September 22, when officers from Fulton County Police and Animal Services executed a search warrant at the “Fast & Furious” star’s home. Body camera footage shows law enforcement entering the property, walking past a towering “Transformers” statue in the foyer, and photographing the scene as they moved through the house.

Outside, Gibson’s grandmother was seen sitting quietly in the back of a patrol car. The reason for her detainment remains unclear, but the atmosphere appeared calm, with no visible confrontation or tension.

The investigation stems from a September 18 incident in which Gibson’s Cane Corsos were caught on surveillance video barking at a neighbor’s door before running across the street. Moments later, the dogs allegedly attacked and killed a spaniel that was outside another home.

Gibson was arrested on Friday (October 3) and booked on a charge of animal cruelty. He was released after posting a $20,000 bond. His legal team has maintained that he is cooperating with authorities. “He was fully cooperating with authorities,” his attorney said. However, police sources later told investigators they did not know the whereabouts of the dogs at the time of the search.

This isn’t the first time Gibson has had legal trouble. In 2023, he was sued by Home Depot for defamation after accusing the company of racial discrimination during a dispute at one of its stores. He’s also had a contentious custody battle with his ex-wife, which included emotional court testimony and public social media commentary. In 2017, he was investigated by the Department of Child and Family Services over allegations of child abuse, though no charges were filed.

The bodycam footage, which surfaced days after the arrest, offers a glimpse into the police response and the scale of the investigation. Authorities have not confirmed whether the dogs have since been located or what consequences Gibson may face if the allegations are upheld.
