Iggy’s “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX is spending its sixth week in the top spot. That passes Lil Kim’s previous record of five weeks with “Lady Marmalade” in 2001. Kim’s collaboration with Christina Aguilera, Mýa, and Pink was included on the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack.

Only four female rappers have ever reached number one on the Hot 100. Lauryn Hill was the first to accomplish that feat in 1998 with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” off the Grammy winning The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. “Doo Wop” spent two weeks at number one.

The only other femcee to hit #1 is Shawnna. She stayed in the peak position for one week as a guest feature on Ludacris’ “Stand Up” in 2003.

Iggy wrote on Instagram:

Pretty good way to start July! Lots of motivation to continue to work hard. I’m putting all my energy into black widow now & hoping you’ll love the video for it as much as you all enjoyed fancy. eek! I’m nervous but excited.

Iggy’s The New Classic LP is currently at number 19 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It peaked at number three and has sold around 210,000 units to date.

Producer Cardo Says Jeezy & Jay Z Received "Seen It All" Beat By Mistake

(AllHipHop News) When two big names like Jay Z and Jeezy jump on a producer’s track, that’s a big moment even if it’s by accident. Jeezy’s latest song “Seen It All” featuring Jay Z was produced by Cardo, and the Texas bred beat maker revealed the track was never intended for Jigga and the Snowman.

“I never had Jeezy or Jay Z in mind for it; Big Sean was a person I pictured on it, and Travis Scott,” Cardo tells MTV. “I sent [it] to Jeezy by accident. I had two beats named under the same [name] in my folder for some reason and it got duplicated. I don’t know what happened; sometimes I’ll name the beat the same thing for some damn reason.”

Jeezy repeatedly reached out to the buzzing producer once he got hold of the beat in 2013. Initially, Cardo did not know that Jay added a verse to the track. While some of his friends were given previews of the song, Cardo did not become aware of the Roc Nation boss’ contribution until much later.

Besides producing the lead single off Jeezy’s next album, Cardo has also worked with Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Meek Mill, Curren$y, and Snoop Dogg.

“Sometimes, God, that’s how he works,” added Cardo on the circumstances of how “Seen It All” came together.

Police officials state Williams was not performing at the location, but they received a 911 call around 2 am local time reporting the entertainer got into a verbal altercation with an unidentified man. Williams had left the site by the time deputies arrived.

The supposed victim and witnesses at the scene spoke with police. They claim Williams flashed a handgun and threatened the man. A warrant has not be issued for Williams as of yet.

“The victim filed a report. Obviously we’d like to hear Mr. Williams’ side of the story,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Sgt. Dave Valentine.

Williams told TMZ he did not have a gun at the venue. He says he was threatened by “gang members.” Four men supposedly followed him to his car and then assaulted him.

Williams has been in trouble with the law in the past. He was arrested in 2006 for carrying a concealed gun at LAX airport. The Friday After Next star was also arrested several times in 2012 and again in 2013 for missing arraignment for a previous charge.

Christian Rappers Flame & Lecrae Sue Katy Perry & Juicy J Over "Dark Horse"

The case was filed in federal court in St. Louis, Missouri. Not only do the plaintiffs accuse Perry of infringing on their copyright, but they also believe their own song has been damaged because of “Dark Horse.”

“And by any measure, the devoutly religious message of ‘Joyful Noise’ has been irreparably tarnished by its association with the witchcraft, paganism, black magic, and Illuminati imagery evoked by the same music in ‘Dark Horse,'” the suit reads.

The lawsuit was filed by Flame, Lecrae, Chike Ojukwu, and Emanuel Lambert. Perry, Juicy, Dr. Luke, Capitol Records, and others are named as defendants.

Lupe Fiasco Explains Only Getting Paid For 11 Records & History With Jay Z

(AllHipHop News) Lupe Fiasco has been working on his next album Tetsuo & Youth for a few years. The Chicago emcee is now currently in the process of narrowing down which songs will make the final tracklist.

Speaking with Skee Live, Lupe explains that he has to cut the project down to eleven tracks because his label will only pay him for that number of songs.

“I only get paid for eleven records,” says Lu. “There’s a cap on your royalties where the record label only pays you for eleven records, and in my position anything over eleven records is not just free, it actually pulls money out of my royalties.”

Lupe also gives shout outs to other rappers Ab-Soul and Big K.R.I.T., and in another segment he discusses his history with Jay Z.

“Jay the homie. I was going to sign to Roc-A-Fella like in 2002-2003,” states Lupe. “I just built this rapport with Jay. Being able to go to Baseline [Studios] and see him put together joints like The Black Album and be a part of that, give him joints for that. So he’s always been in the mix. Not so much the past couple of albums, the past few years. Still the homie though.”

Jay Z was credited as an executive producer on Lupe’s first studio LP Food & Liquor. He appeared on the song “Pressure” off the album as well.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Nicki Airs Everybody Out, Falls Back Off “Iggy Statements”

The internet is funny! Nicki said some stuff at the BET Awards and it seemed like she was dissing Iggy. I’m thinking she knew it would go down this way. She blames the media but it wasn’t the media only, because the while world took it as a diss to Iggy. So, Nicki stop. Stop the madness. Somehow, Lauryn Hill comes into this rant. just see what she has to say.

The media puts words in my mouth all the time and this is no different. I will always take a stance on women writing b/c I believe in us! I believe we’re smart enough to write down our own thoughts and perspective, just like the men do. I’ve been saying this for 5 YEARS. I fell in love with Lauryn Hill b/c I knew she was the author behind those amazingly profound and articulated songs on the Miseducation. I wondered how Lauryn tapped into my brain and wrote an album on love, betrayal, passion, pain, triumph, brokenness…. Did she read minds? It’s the same reason I have a different level of respect for Missy. I know she’s a writer and a producer. Women MUST aspire for more. I’ve congratulated Iggy on the success of Fancy, publicly. She should be very proud of that. All the women nominated should b proud. That will never change my desire to motivate women to write. Our voices have to be heard. I hope I inspire up & coming females to do that.

What’s she talking about? People saying that somebody got at Nicki and made her take it back, but I don’t think so. Anyway….I don’t know where this originated, but I’m sure its from Twitter or Instagram.
