Hip-Hop Rumors: Are The TV Cameras Affecting Kanye’s Wedding?

Barack and Michelle Obama was invited to wedding of Kanye and Kim? That struck me as odd, when a recent report came through that stated people have been declining to attend the wedding. The Star Magazine is definitely a tabloid, but like the Enquirer, they sometimes have credibility. They report that about 105 people have declined their invite to the nuptials. But, it doesn’t stop there. Apparently, Robin Thicke, Jerad Leto, Jonah Hill, Anna Wintour, Oprah Winfrey, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Prince, Karl Lagerfeld, Barack and Beyonce and Jay Z ALL said they won’t be there. Jay and B? Man, that sounds powerful to me and I find it difficult to believe that B and Jay would not go to the homey’s big day. The report is slightly confusing, but it suggests that the whole thing will be taped for an episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.” That could definitely be a turn off. But, I would think they could work it out. Nevertheless, there seems to be a strong hatred against the Kardashians in general. I find that interesting since people continually give them energy, TV shows, clothing lines and even perfume so you can smell like them. Anyway….we’ll see won’t we?

E-40 Will Release Four Albums On The Same Day In July

(AllHipHop News) E-40 believes in wealth through volume and is preparing to remind us of why he may be the most prolfic West Coast rapper since Too $hort. Today (April 8th), E-40 announces that he will release four albums on the same day.

His upcoming project Sharp On All 4 Corners will be released as four individual albums titled titled Corners 1,2,3 &4. All four albums will be released simultaneously on July 15th, 2014.

These four albums will serve as his follow-up to his three album release of The Block Brochure Welcome To The Soil 3, 4 & 6 which were also simultaneously released on December 10th, 2013.

 

Rev. Al Sharpton Accused Of Being FBI Informant Against The Mafia + Shaprton Responds

(AllHipHop News) Al Sharpton is a man of the people and there are allegations out there that he is a man for a different set of people. Yesterday (April 7th) The Smoking Gun released an article accusing Rev. Al Sharpton of being an informant for the FBI for years in the 1980s.

Due to Freedom of Information Act requests, classified documents were released and The Smoking Gun’s allegations are extensive. Former Shaprton associate and FBI agent Joseph Spinelli introduced the FBI to Sharpton in 1983. The FBI presented Sharpton with a secretly record videotape of the minister speaking with an undercover drug dealer Victor Quintana and mobster, Danny Pagano about boxing match fixing and money laundering. During the conversation, Sharpton is heard saying he can get Pagano a “fair deal” from Don King. The FBI threatened to prosecute him if he did not cooperate, later admitting they were bluffing but according to sources with The Smoking Gun, Sharpton complied.

According to court documents, Sharpton was referred to as CI-7 (confidential informant #7) and was used by the FBI for information which led to the conviction of members of the Genovese crime family. He even secretly taped some of those wiseguys using a briefcase that FBI technicians outfitted with a recording device.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Sharpton contends that The Smoking Gun‘s allegations are a “stretch” and proclaimed “If I brought down the Mob, I want my ticker tape parade.”

The government was trying to entrap a civil rights kid on some crimes that were never committed, and failed to trap him. That’s the unsaid part of it: Why did they go after Sharpton in the first place? What was the crime? The one interesting thing that we’re looking at, three decades later, is that no one can identify, with all of the documents Bastone’s got, what it is they came after me for? There is no crime here

Back on January 20st, 1988, Newsday released an article alleging Sharpton was an FBI informant against drug dealers in the Black community as well as organized crime bosses. In the interview with Newsday, Sharpton admits to wiretapping his own phone in mid-1987, as senior law enforcement officials say they placed, as a “hotline” for people to catch drug dealers. The article even alleges that Sharpton turned in information to the FBI on famed boxing promoter, Don King.

50 Cent Reportedly Ordered To Pay $16 Million To Sleek Audio

(AllHipHop News) As Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson preps to release his Animal Ambition album, the rapper/mogul has some other non-music business to address. According to Radar Online, 50 was recently ordered to pay $16 million to Sleek Audio.

Sleek sued 50 after a 2011 deal with the Queens native for “Sleek by 50” collapsed. The company also claimed that 50 stole their product design and confidential private client information from a Sleek developed website.

Court documents stated that Sleek reached out to 50’s associates about the client information, and his personal business manager Nicolee Martin reportedly wrote, “[Sleek] is onto us, LOL. They emailed and called … about the data.”

An arbitrator previously sided with Sleek which led to an interim agreement for Sleek to receive $11,693,247 in damages. 50 fought to not have to pay those fees, but another ruling came down this week that the rapper must pay the $11.7 million plus an additional $4,488,331 in attorney’s fees – a grand total of $16,181,578.

Questlove Announces Release Date For The Roots Next Single

(AllHipHop News) The first single from The Roots’ forthcoming album And Then You Shoot Your Cousin has a release date. The band’s drummer Questlove announced on Instagram when the track “When The People Cheer” will be available for purchase.

The photo below included the caption: 1st single from our 16th album “…..and then you shoot your cousin” in stores May 13th 2014 on Def Jam. @RootsOfficial #WhenThePeopleHear.

The Roots lead emcee Black Thought had already revealed And Then You Shoot Your Cousin will be another concept album. The group’s 2011 LP Undun was also a conceptual release.

“It’s not just about just one kind of character, we create quite a few different characters in this record,” said Black Thought. “It’s satire, but in that satire it’s an analysis of some of the stereotypes perpetuated in not only the Hip Hop community, but in the community.”

Nicki Minaj Mentions Malcolm X’s Daughter On “Chi-Raq” Song

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj caught backlash earlier this year when she used a picture of Malcolm X as a representation for her single “Lookin Ass N*ggas.”

Some of those critics included the civil rights leader’s family. Ilyasah Shabazz, Malcolm’s daughter, called the use of the photo “disrespectful.”

Minaj decided to briefly mention the situation in her latest release “Chi-Raq.” On the song the Young Money artist raps, “Malcolm X daughter came at me/Lookin ass n***as ain’t happy.”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Mase Trick His Congregation?

Uh oh. The latest word on the streets of the internet has suggested strongly that Ma$e may have perpetrated a fraud in the Christian community. He and his wife Twyla have been the Pastor and First Lady of Mason Betha Ministries. But the latest is saying that the reality is different from the perception. Well, now we know that Ma$e filed for divorce earlier this year, but reportedly took it all back to keep the love alive. But, now TMZ is stating that the wife Twyla filed for legal separation about two years ago on the West Coast. They are supposed to be in Atlanta! She allegedly got as far away from her man as possible. But, TMZ takes it a step farther, charging that Ma$e and Twyla continued to act like they were together and sold church goers books and DVDs and whatever they could. I wonder how true this is. One this is for certain, this is a very strange series of events.

Kanye West: I Don’t Care How Crazy I Look To Anyone, As Long As I Can Make The Best Product

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West stopped by the Brose Arena Bamberg in Germany for the Adidas Global Brand Conference. Ye was there to discuss his upcoming Yeezys sneaker line.

The rapper/producer/designer made it a point to express that his desire to create is not just about picking up an endorsement check.

“When I create and when we create, it’s not based off of the word you hear all the time – ‘celebrity advertising,'” Ye tells the audience. “It’s nothing I love more than to sit there and put the fabrics together, and think about the way people react to the creations in real life.”

Kanye goes on to talk about his partnership with Adidas, and his drive to constantly make new products despite what critics think about him.

“This is the company that was experienced and brave enough to give me the opportunity to create. So all the so-called ranting that you ever heard was ‘if you are creative, that means you’re oxygen,'” added Kanye. “Creativity is my oxygen. I have to create, and I don’t care how crazy I look to anyone as long as I can make the best product for all of you.”

Nas & Q-Tip Perform With The Roots On Jimmy Fallon (VIDEOS)

(AllHipHop News) Two Queens, New York rap legends combined with Philly’s premiere Hip Hop band on The Tonight with Jimmy Fallon. Nas recruited Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest for his appearance on the late night talk show.

God’s Son and The Abstract were backed by The Roots for a performance of “One Love” and “The World Is Yours.”

Joell Ortiz Signs With Penalty Entertainment To Release “House Slippers” LP

(AllHipHop News) As one-fourth of the supergroup Slaughterhouse, Joell Ortiz is preparing to release the crew’s third album, but the Brooklyn emcee is working on his next solo LP as well.

Ortiz’s upcoming House Slippers will be his first album released through Penalty Entertainment.

“I truly believe it’s going to be a big year for Joell Ortiz,” states the rapper. “Neil Levine over at Penalty gets it and is giving me, the Yaowa, a platform to do exactly what I wanna do… me!”

Penalty recently signed a multi-year distribution deal with Sony Red. The label now covers recording music, artist management, music publishing, touring, and merchandising.

“I’m thrilled to be welcoming Joell to our rapidly expanding Penalty family. He is an amazing talent and his new album House Slippers is destined to be an instant Hip Hop classic,” added Penalty Entertainment CEO Neil Levine.

House Slippers will be Joel Ortiz first solo album since 2011’s Free Agent. The project is expected to be released this summer.

I just became aware of this scoundrel because of a rumor that stated that Lil Wayne had signed the guy. Well, I’m not even going to play with the rumor. Wayne ain’t sign him at all.
